I had an random idea and I wanted to flow with it, it going to be like a slow burning project while I keep watching Wandavision.

-I don't own Wandavision

-This story is fantasy - Pure Imagination!

-Peter Maximoff is a legendary

-Sorry for slow updates - Since my charger died for my laptop I've had to write everything on my phone.

-I'm going with the fake Wandavision leaks with my story, I was left unsatisfied with the finale - Let's mix it up with my ideas too!

Chapter 12!

It's Time To Let Go

Peter had been sitting in the town square for hours since Wanda had left with her family, he had nowhere else to go. He watched the soldiers around him, they were helping the confused citizens of Westview. It seemed like things were returning to normal, the town wasn't under Wanda's control anymore. The citizens were now free, their minds and lives were their own.

The night soon crept across Westview, the streets soon became silent and empty. There was the odd solider lingering and patrolling the streets with weapons, but mostly everyone else had returned to their homes or left the the town while they had a chance. Peter's gaze lingered on the street ahead of him, he could see the odd shimmer of red waves on the buildings. The neighbourhood around him was changing, the town was now returning to how it use to be before Wanda had chosen this place to call her home.

Peter felt an odd sensation move through his body, he looked at his hands while he got to his feet. He himself was still the same, there was nothing to change about him since he didn't belong in this world. He looked around the town square, while he tucked his hands in his jacket pockets, the place felt dull and cold. He wanted to check out the town, he needed to see what this place was like without Wanda's influence over it. He decided to take it slow for once, he took a deep breath before he ventured down the street.

The stores were closed since it was the early hours of the morning, some of the store's windows were boarded up. It looked like some of the store had gone out of business months ago, it seemed like Westview wasn't great like it had been in Wanda's little sitcom world. Peter turned left out of the town center and found himself on the street that led towards Maple Street, he knew this street very well. He could see the sun raising above some rooftops at the end of the street, he soon checked his watch and noticed the hands settling on 9am. He had no idea what was going on, but it seemed like time had sped up for a short period time.

The houses ahead of him looked dull and weather beaten, it meant that Wanda's spell had come to an end. Pulling his goggles over his eyes he zoomed down the street and stopped outside of the Maximoff residence, his eyes grew wide. The house was no more, it had disappeared. He could see Wanda standing in the middle of what would have been the living room, she had he back turned on him. He opened the gate and stepped onto the pathway, the house he once knew was nothing but an outline. The walls were gone and the once colourful flowers growing in the flowerbed were withered, the whole patch of land around the house was lifeless. He soon spotted Wanda walking through the doorway, she looked exhausted. He took a couple of steps towards her before made his presence known, his voice broke the silence between them.

" Wanda..." Peter said.

Wanda stopped dead on the pathway and stared at him, she looked surprised to see him. They kept eye contact until Wanda burst into tears, she soon fell to her knees. Her heart was broken all over again, he knew that she had made a hard decision to save Westview instead of her family. She had lost Vision and her children, he couldn't imagine how she felt since he didn't have any kids or a partner. He hesitated before he approached her, he didn't know what to say to her. But Wanda broke the silence between them, her voice was full of sorrow and despair.

" They've gone, I've lost everything..." Wanda cried.

" You've not lost me, I'll help you find them again..." Peter said, he crouched in front of her and pulled his goggles away from his eyes. " They're still out there, I know that for a fact."

" And how do you know that?" Wanda asked.

" Let's call it a hunch." Peter replied.

" How can you be so sure?" Wanda asked.

Peter thought for a moment before he told Wanda that there were other Tommy and Billy versions out there, he explained to her about the variants in the different reality timelines. She listened to him, he told her about Doctor Stephen Strange and how he could help her if she let him.

" They wouldn't be my children, they have other Mothers..." Wanda said before she took a card from her pocket. " This was meant to be my new home with Vision, our fresh start. It was a dream we both shared, but it wasn't meant to be..."

" Real? It was real, Wanda!" Peter interrupted her and rested his hand on her arm. " This town is real, your neighbours are real. I'm real, this doesn't have to be the end. Let's call this a new beginning, we'll figure something out."

" I just want my boys back..." Wanda whispered.

" You'll find them again, I promise." Peter said.

Wanda let out a low sob, the card slipped from her hand and landed on the pathway. She was a broken woman, she had lost everything she had ever loved. Peter pulled Wanda into a hug, she snuggled her face into his shoulder and sobbed her heart out. Peter tired his best to comfort her, he wasn't that great in situations like these. He couldn't help but think of his past experiences with loss, his thought immediately turned to Scott Summers. He remembered when Scott had lost Jean, he had distance himself from his friends for over a week until his teammates approached him and helped him through his grief. That's what Peter needed to do now for Wanda, he couldn't return to his own reality just yet. Wanda still needed his help, the future of the different realities relied on it.

A Couple Of Weeks Later

The sun shone through the tree tops above Peter while he walked through the forest, he was still searching for a way to get back to his reality. He had travelled to many places in this new reality, he was still trying to locate Doctor Stephen Strange. But he was having trouble pin pointing him, the guy seemed to travel through many different dimensions. He had been to New York and London, he even tried Hong Kong. But he wasn't having much luck, he planned on taking his search to Europe at some point.

Peter stopped at the edge of the forest and looked at the vast lake ahead of him, he could see the cabin Wanda was staying at in the distance. He had been gone for over a week now, she had been staying there since the incidence in Westview. She had been coping in her own way, but Peter was still worried about her when he wasn't around. He had taken up the role of her adoptive Brother in the last couple of weeks, he made sure she was eating and keeping out of mischief.

" Home sweet home." Peter said.

Peter pulled his goggles over his eyes while the world around him slowed down, he was in his own world now. He zoomed forward and ran across the lake, the water beneath his feet didn't even have time to ripple. The world around him whizzed passed his eyes, the birds above him stayed in mid flight and the forest remained still. His feet soon made contact with the shore of the lake and the world around him soon caught up with his speedy pace, he pulled his goggles away from his eyes while he returned to his normal walking pace.

The cabin soon became clearer to him, he could now see Wanda sitting on the porch of the cabin. She was staring into the distance with a hot drink in her hands, she seemed lost in her own world. But he soon caught her attention when he whistling at her, her gaze met with his own. He gave her smile and stopped a few feet away from her, he was still wary of her even if they were comfortable in each others company.

" You're back I see." Wanda said.

" Wow! Don't pretend you haven't missed me." Peter smiled while he approached her. " Let's started again, more of a friendly vibe this time."

" Got it, friendly vibes." Wanda said.

" Mean it this time, okay?" Peter asked.

" Sure, I've got this..." Wanda replied.

" Morning Wanda, I'm back!" Peter said.

" Welcome back, Peter." Wanda said, she took a sip of her coffee and wrapped her hands around her mug. " Where have you been this time?"

" Just out of the state, but I've come back baring gifts." Peter replied, he showed her his shopping bag. " I've brought waffles and coffee, also bananas. I even got you a couple of books, I thought you'd need something to occupy your mind when I'm not around. Are you up for some breakfast?"

" Sure, the pot is on the stove." Wanda replied.

" I'll be right back." Peter said.

Peter walked up the steps of the cabin and entered the building, it seemed like Wanda had been sorting the place out since he had been gone. There were new blankets folded up on the couch Peter had been using for his bed and the kitchen had become more homely, he was surprised to see a bowl of fruit on the counter side. He approached the counter and placed his bag down, he then looked out of the window above the fire stove while he unpacked his shopping.

There was fresh snow on the mountain tops, but down at the cabin they were clear of snow for now. They were located at Wundagore Mountain in the Eastern European country of Transia, the place was peaceful and beautiful. Erik had told Peter that he once visited the place decades ago in his reality, it felt weird knowing that in his reality Erik had visited this place. This world was the same has his reality, the countries and foods were familiar. But it lacked one thing, there was no mutants.

Peter had travelled all over America, he was trying to figure things out. The neighbourhoods he once knew from his childhood were still the same, his Mom's house was identical to his home in his reality. He had even checked out the mansion in Westchester Country, the building was abandoned and empty. He was beginning to feel homesick, he missed his Mom and his friends. He sighed deeply to himself and took the waffles from his shopping bag, he had breakfast to make before he could continue his search for Doctor Stephen Strange.

Reaching for some plates from the draining board Peter began to prepare breakfast, he moved around the kitchen at high speed. He juggled three bananas before he sliced them up and placed them on top of the waffles, he was soon adding other ingredients to their breakfast. He opened one cupboard and rummaged around inside of it, he had hidden a box of twinkies from Wanda. She had developed a taste for his favourite junk food, he had brought fours boxes for her and hid one of the boxes behind a bag of porridge. He soon found his creamy treats and ripped the box open while he sang a Rush softly to himself.

Begin the day with a friendly voice

A companion unobtrusive

Plays that song that's so elusive

And the magic music makes your morning mood...

Peter topped the breakfast off with two Twinkies, he soon left the little cabin with two plates of breakfast in his hands. He spotted Wanda sitting on the step of the cabin, she hadn't moved since he had returned. She was staring at the vast lake near the cabin, her mind was elsewhere has always. He watched her for a moment before he approached her, she seemed more at ease than the last time he had seen her. Before Peter had left the cabin over a week ago she had been distant, she wouldn't even talk with him. She spend most of her time alone in her bedroom, he swore he had heard her speaking to herself late at night.

" Breakfast time! I hope you like bananas." Peter said, he held one of the plate towards his friend. " Also whipped cream and Twinkies, I kind of went over the top with candies. You see why I was never allowed to do the shopping at the mansion, the students would have ended up in sugar comas. "

" I love bananas and waffles, thank you." Wanda said, she took the plate from his hand and looked at her breakfast. " This looks interesting..."

" My meals are questionable, you're not the first to say that." Peter said while he sat down next to her on the step. " One time when I was at Xavier's School I made some Twinkie hot dogs and topped them with mustard, it wasn't my greatest moment since some of the students got sick. But I enjoyed them. Maybe I should make you batch one time, I could nip out and get us some of the ingredients if you want."

" As tempting as it sounds, I'll pass." Wanda said.

" The offer still stands if you change your mind." Peter said.

Peter tucked into his breakfast, his gaze lingered on the vest lake near the cabin. His attention was soon caught by Wanda placing the plate down on the porch, she hadn't touch her breakfast. She hadn't been eating much lately, he understood why though. She had been talking in her sleep when Peter had been staying at the cabin, he had overheard her more than once talking about Vision and the twins. Her gaze soon met with his own, she smiled at him before she took a sip of her hot drink.

" Have you found him yet?" Wanda asked.

" You mean Stephen, right?" Peter asked, he shook his head. " Nope, not yet. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack, I can't find him anywhere in this reality."

" Really? You told me you could find anyone." Wanda said.

" Hey, do I look like a wizard to you?" Peter asked.

" I don't know, do you have a lightning bolt scar on your forehead?" Wanda asked.

" That's a Harry Potter reference, right?" Peter asked.

" Yes, it's a Harry Potter reference." Wanda replied with a smile. " I sometimes forget you're not from this reality, it must be strange for you learning about different future events and books that hadn't even been released in your timeline yet."

" I'm getting used to it." Peter said while he spooned a slice of banana into his mouth. " I mean it's fascinating here, but I kind of miss my own decade. The nineties were just kicking off for me. I was meant to be seeing the Street Fighter movie with Scott and Storm before Doctor Strange turned up, I've seen the movie now but I wanted to see it with my friends."

" You must miss them." Wanda said.

" I do, we were a team... family." Peter said.

" The X Men remind me of the Avengers, they were like my family once." Wanda said, she got to her feet. " But things change, people change. But I do miss them."

" There's a museum about them, I visited it when I was exploring Washington DC." Peter said, he got to his feet and pointed his spoon towards his friend. " The American shield dude, the guy with the bow and arrows. Erm... and that one guy, I forget his name. Oh, Robot Man!"

" Robot Man?" Wanda asked.

" It was speedy visit." Peter replied, he picked the other plate of breakfast up from the porch and chuckled to himself. " I didn't have time to read all of the signs, I'm just one man."

" You mean Iron Man, but I knew him has Tony Stark." Wanda said.

" What was Tony like?" Peter asked, his gaze lingered on his friend. " I read that he invented some impressive machinery, he reminds me of one of my friends back at the X Mansion. Hank McCoy, he's a whiz when it comes to technology. You remember Hank, right? The blue guy."

" Tony was a billionaire industrialist." Wanda replied, she lowered her gaze to her mug in her hands. " He did a lot of bad things too, but also good. I really don't want to talk about him..."

" Complicated, huh?" Peter asked.

" Yeah, it's complicated." Wanda replied.

" Hey, can I ask why they didn't have your picture in the museum?" Peter asked, he approached his friend. " I thought you were famous too, you know... one of the good guys."

" That's also complicated." Wanda replied.

" I get it, you don't want to talk about it." Peter said.

" You're catching on fast." Wanda said, she looked at him and gave him a smile. " Do you fancy a coffee? The pot should have boiled by now."

" Sure, I brought some Folgers coffee." Peter replied.

" Brought?" Wanda asked.

" Okay, I stole it." Peter replied.

" That sounds about right." Wanda said, she smiled kindly at him. " Come on, let's finish our breakfast inside the cabin. We can discuss other places you can search for Stephen, I have a world map you can use."

" Okay, I'll be right behind you." Peter said.

Peter watched Wanda enter the cabin, he took a few steps forward and watched her from the open doorway. She took the pot from the stove and got a fresh mug for Peter from the cupboard, he even swore he heard her humming a song to herself. She was in a really good mood, it kind of scared Peter when she wasn't being quiet. Wanda stopped for a moment before she looked over her shoulder at him, she gave him a smile.

" Are you coming in?" Wanda asked.

" Yeah, I'm coming in." Peter replied.

Wanda turned her attention back to the coffee while Peter entered the cabin, he took one last outside before he closed the door behind him with his foot. His search for Doctor Stephen Strange wasn't over yet, he had no idea how long he would have to remain in this timeline before he could return to his own reality. But he knew one thing, this mission he had expected from Doctor Strange wasn't over just yet.

Writer's Note

Thank you for all of the reviews, alerts and faves over the last few months.

I really enjoyed writing my version of Wandavision with Peter Maximoff in it. I may continue with another part of this fanfiction after Doctor Strange MOM comes out.
