Okay, before you enter the shitshow that for the last three years was my first chapter posted in My Hero Academia fandom let me warn you that it's bad. Like, disgustingly bad. But I've improved since then and I can prove that by showing you a rewritten version of the first chapter. I want this story to be a monument to the progress I've made with my writing skills so I won't erase this garbage you are about to read, rather edit in the rewritten version to this chapter. So if you want to compare those two you can read both or you can simply skip to the newer version.

Be aware though that the next... thirteen chapters or so are also rubbish. But it gets better! I hope...

Almost one hundred years ago, a special child was born. Why special you ask? It started glowing, couple of days after it was born. And then, another one was born, that had a very strong skin, harder than steel actually! And another, that had the ability to fly! Then, it became more common for children to have Quirks, as they were named. Nom, Ninety-something years later, almost 80% of the populace has Quirks and what once was absolutely normal, became a sad rarity. People with Quirks immediately split into two roles. The good guys and the bad guys. Heroes and villains. Numerous school were founded in order to educate the gifted ones about morality and ethics, so that they can - one day - become heroes.

But there was one child, that was born Quirkless. He was not taken serious by anyone and everyone laughed at him, whenever he spoke of his dream to become a hero as popular as All Might. But when meeting his idol, he acquired his power and-! Okay, I'll stop you right here. I'm getting tired of your bullshit! There is no way that this was possible and the only reason, why you are being fed with it, is because that way it's more interesting to watch, read or whatever. I mean, who would want to read about a person with no superpowers become the greatest hero of all?

"I would"

Ha! I won! You said no one would want to read it!

Come on, you said it!

"No i didn't!", ekhem "No he didn't"

Ugh, whatever, do what you want, I'm going to Chima

So, let me tell you the real story! :D So, maybe not everything was bull, but the part about All Might? They are lies. Why? Because I was never born! Ekhem, I mean, he was never born. Yeah, All Might was never born, who even is All Might? He-he *nervous laughing intensifies*

So, there was a child named Izuku Midoriya. And yes, he was Quirkless. But no, he didn't have his big moment when he run in to save someone a was given a power by his idol. The Midoriya family owns a very big company in the United States, focused on making people's lives better. Izuku's father is a famous genetical engineer, while his mother is just as known surgeon. They met at work and fell in love, with the drive to make people's lives better as their driving force. And their beliefs were passed onto their only son, Izuku. He was born with no immediate sign of being gifted, but Quirks could manifest themselves even after 6 years. And so they waited. Year after year, until the day of his sixth birthday. He had no signs of having a Quirk at all. No enhanced senses, no super strength, no special abilities, nothing. To put it plainly, the boy was sad. But, he was also very stubborn. And he was not going to give up his dream of helping people.

"Mom, dad, I still want to help everyone!", he said after they came back home on his sixth birthday.

"Izuku, honey, I'm afraid that you don't have any superpowers like the rest of your friends", came the soothing tone of his mother, that was hugging him right now.

"Well, I can't be a Pro Hero, but are they the only ones that help people?", was his surprisingly mature answer. Both of his parents looked at him, eager to hear his reasoning. "What about the police? The firefighters? Don't they help people to?", Izuku continued with his thoughts. "And there are also people helping the Pro Heroes, like the support companies!"

His parents were looking at their son, with proud in their eyes. Despite being Quirkless, he still refuses to let go of his dreams, because there's still hope, that he can help people. "Izuku, my son, I'm proud of you", stated his father and embraced Izuku and his mother.

After this day, young Midoriya concentrated on his goal. But, because of the other kids assaulting him for his Quirklessness, he was started to be home-schooled. Outside of his classes he started to tinker at the age of 10. At first it was simply curiosity of a growing child. Watching RC cars drive with a single push of a stick on a controler. How planes were flying and cars were driving. But it transformed from being just a fun thing to do in his free time to a full time hobby. At the age of 12, Midoriya was quite good at tinkering. RC cars had no secrets from him. He was growing up to be a very smart person. Although not very social. He only spoke with a few of their maids and butlers, so everyone was curious how would he act around a total stranger. Or in a group of strangers. When he was not tinkering in his improvised workshop in his private garage, he would go to their pool in the back of their residence or to the gym and work out. At the age of 15, it hit him. And boy did it hit him hard.

"I can become a hero!", since he was young young Midoriya had a thing for superheroes. The real ones, that were all over the news and the ones, that you could watch in theaters on the big screen. His favourites were Superman, Green Lantern and Spider-Man. But, after he was discovered to be Quirkless, his tastes did a 180. He was now drawn toward more… normal heroes. Not ones from outer space, ancient orders or created by mistakes. Ironman and Batman became his new favourite heroes. He didn't give it much thought at first. "Well, I'm just tired of them", he told himself as he started to lose interest in his old idols. But, he knew it was just an excuse. He not only didn't let go of his dream to help people. But he also didn't let go of his dream, to be a hero. And that's the exact thing, that he said to his parents, on his 17th birthday…

"Mom, dad… I think I... ", he stuttered.

"Huh, what is it Izuku?", asked his mother.

"I, I think, that I still, want… I can become a hero", he said and looked at his parents looking for their reaction.

"But, you don't have a Quirk-", was going to be his father's response, but it was cut off.

"I know, but… Look at Batman! Or Ironman. They had no powers either!", Izuku argued.

"Well, yes, but they were… very… intelligent…", said his father, as something hit him. "And had people, that were cheering for them, helping them…"

"What are you saying John?", Inko asked.

"He planned this", John answered smiling and seeing his son's reaction, knew that he was right. "He never stopped dreaming about being a hero Inko!", he was looking at his wife, searching for a clue about her thoughts. "He trained hard and you know it. It wasn't a hobby, it was a way!"

"I, I… I don't know what to say... ", whispered dumbfounded woman.

"Just repeat after me, hun", he said smiling and turned to Izuku. "I'm with you son", tears were threatening to spill from his eyes, as he shifted his gaze from his dad to his mom.

"Mom?", he whispered, waiting desperately for her answer.

"Go get them tiger", she said jokingly and hugged her son with tears spilling from eyes of both of them.

"You were supposed to repeat after me", was his dad silent comment as he kneeled and hugged his family.

"Deja Vu", was a thought that they all shared.

To enter the most prestigious hero school in Japan, you need to be at least 18 years of and be one of a kind, or get in through recommendations. There are theoretical and practical exams that determine if you are good enough to attend the UA. So young Midoriya has a year to ready his mind and his body for the exams! And he needs to make the best use of this time.

And just as he should, young Midoriya, started training hard in order to pass the entering exam. But, even with all the help he could get, he was not even near the level of strength he needed. And that's the moment, when his father stepped in.

"Izuku, I-I need to speak with you", said John walking into their private gym. Young Midoriya was standing near a punching bag and the sweat covering his body was a proof of his hard training. "How you feeling?", he asked approaching his son.

"Not good enough. A month dad, that's all I have", young Midoriya looked his father straight into the eyes. "I'm not going to do this. I don't have enough time…"

"That's, my son, why I'm here…", spoke the older man.

"Oh, yes. Dad, why are you here and not in Europe?", asked Izuku.

"We… We found a way to make you stronger", he simply stated.

"What?! How?!", was young Midoriya's delayed, but very excited question.

"As you know, I'm a genetic engineer, but on rare occasions I help my good friend, who is a bioengineer", started John. "He was working on an artificial arm, that would help people, who lost theirs in accidents and etc. He didn't make the prototype yet, but he created something that can enhance people's body. He created augments", he gulped. "And they need testing"

"So… This is the UA…. It really is a huge complex…", young Midoriya thought to himself as he was standing at the entrance, that lead onto the schools grounds. He was dressed in a very mysterious way. Underneath his black trenchcoat, he was wearing grey trousers, white T-shirt and a unzipped green hoodie. Also he had twin 9mm's on him. Like, real guns. But hey, there was a guy that resembled a crow, that was carrying a katana on his back for all to see! And it was cool with everyone. If anyone asks him about the guns later, than he can say, he didn't want to loose the element of surprise until the very last moment. His body was feeling odd. Only week earlier had he came back from America, where he underwent augmentation. "It sure will take a lot of time to get used to", he thought and looked back at the front gate, when a very decent memory hit him.

"You don't have to go to the entrance exam", he remembered his father's words. "We have a recommendation for you" . He also remembered his answer.

"I have to. For my own sake", he whispered inaudibly and started walking.

Following the signs, he reached a big square, where all the attendants gathered. After a couple of minutes, new faces stopped appearing and young Midoriya heard a voice of a Pro Hero - Present Mic.

"Yooo!", at the sound of his voice, everyone went quiet and focused on the Pro Hero on stage. "So you gathered here to take part in the entering exams! Maaan, this got me all tuned up! Imma tell you know, what and how! On the big screen behind me" - he gestured with a thumb of his free hand - "will appear a list of people, that have been assigned to the specific testing ground. Let's get this started!", he shouted and the first set of names arrived.

Young Midoriya was searching for his, but he failed to locate it. "I guess it's just not my turn"

The square was becoming emptier and emptier as more people followed instructions on screen. Izuku was waiting for his name to appear, until only a handful of others stayed.

"And last, but in no way the worst!", shouted Present Mic. "Y'all follow me!"

Remaining contestants were a little surprised, but quickly followed the Pro Hero. He lead them to a training ground, that was used to simulate the scenarios of fights taking place in populated area. Or so young Midoriya thought, scanning the battlefield; seeing every little detail.

"So! The rules are simple! Behind these doors, are hundreds of battlebots. Each of them is worth a different amount of points. To acquire them, you need to either destroy them or turn them off, via a switch on their bodies. Top scores will enter the UA and the rest will be left with nothing!", explained Present Mic.

"It doesn't matter how many points I get, I have a seat in the UA already… But I want to prove my mom and dad, that believing in me was a good decision", thought Izuku to himself. "But most importantly, I need to prove it to myself. That I am truly worthy of becoming a hero!", and that's, where the exam began.

And... that's it for now. So I'm going to ramble a little :D
1. You see any mistakes in grammar etc. - you tell me ;D Imma straighten it up
2. You like it - you stay and Texas Smash that follow button xD
3. You have any ideas/requests - you Texas smash the other button and leave a review

And now, a little summary. As I probably said before, some of the characters will be... out of character. Like, smarter young Midoriya (but still goofy) and more ninja-like Tokoyami, more deadly fight, more romance and more character development (yes I'm looking at you Bakugo). Young Midoriya will befriend Yaoyorozu, but it's not a pairing... yet. Also, the relationships from the anime will be altered. Like the famous trio of Izuku, Tenya and Ochaco, will become a duo, with a longer past and Bakugo will have a friend from his school too!

Okey, that my part done, you can now decide, what do you want with the story. (Ignore, fav, read) ;D

Okay, the cringe part is over you can open your eyes now. Now that you've witnessed the carnage above you can check out the version that represents my current quality.

World is not a fair place. That statement is especially true now, in the age of superpowers known as Quirks. These powers come in various shapes and sizes. From something mundane as being able to stretch your fingers to sweating explosives that can be detonated at will, Quirks are almost always used to measure a person's value. If you have a strong Quirk then you are destined for greatness and people will flock to you to bask in your glory. And if you have a weak one or, God forbid, don't have one at all then your life will not be as easy.

Sure, there are groups or numbers you can contact if you are ostracized for the power you have, but what can they do against a society built on these ideals? How can you change something that has been reinforced over two centuries?

I was asking myself this question, you know? How do you change society? Can you change society?

And for about twenty years I thought that there was nothing you could do to change society. I was mostly right of course, I live in this society for the love of God. I know how it operates and what makes it tick.

For twenty years I was stuck with the feeling of helplessness, despite being the most powerful man in Europe. I had money, influence and an army at my disposal. And yet I could only watch as the divides in the society grew larger and larger.

Then, a certain man contacted me.

"Would you like to join me in my quest of making this world a better place?" he asked me with an outstretched hand.

I can say with all the certainty in the world that this man single handedly changed me into the person I am today. Or at least influenced my development in a major way. I mean, look at me!

THE Merchant of Death becomes a Pro Hero and even gains an international status!

But, alas, this story is not centered around me. I can recognize the fact that the whole world doesn't revolve around me. That I'm not the 'MC' of this world.

Although, I do know who can be considered to be the 'MC'. Unmatched charisma, determination and an intellect that could easily compete with mine.

Izuku Midoriya. The boy who single handedly changed a whole country.

You're probably dying to know how that happened right? Well, since I have nothing better to do I might as well tell you this story. And don't even bother questioning how I know everything I'm about to say, alright? My Quirk is literally called Knowledgeable. It makes me know stuff about stuff and stuffettes.

You see now, Midoriya's origin is in no way tragic or horrifying or anything of the sort. But it's not all smooth sailing too.

Izuku Midoriya, son of two worldwide known and downright revered doctors - Inko and John - has been diagnosed as Quirkless at the age of four. In a world filled with powers, he had none to call his own. And yet he inherited his parents' will to help people.

This motivation coupled with a very quickly developing intellect were hinting that the boy was another great surgeon in the making. One that would surely surpass his parents and climb to the very top.

But as time went on, Izuku started branching out more and more. He picked up tinkering as a way to satisfy his ever growing thirst for knowledge. Then he started working out. Watching different tutorials on the internet and reading books on various topics ranging from history all the way to quantum physics.

And as he developed, Izuku was surrounded with heroism and Heroes themselves. Be it movies, books or news, they were everywhere and Inko would call herself stupid for not noticing their influence on her son's growth.

The older Midoriyas sat down with their son one evening to hold a very important conversation.

"Son, do you know what you would like to do in the future?", his father asked with a calm expression on his face.

"Help people!", the twelve year old answered almost immediately.

His parents couldn't help but laugh at that quick declaration, before returning to the conversation.

"I should've expected you to say that", the older Midoriya said with a smile. "I know that helping people is everything that you want to do, but have you ever thought how you can do that? What can you do to help people?"

That got the little boy to quiet down for a moment as he thought carefully on the question at hand. To be honest, he hadn't really thought about how exactly he wanted to help people.

"Mom and dad help people a lot. So maybe I could become a doctor like them! But the police officers make sure that everyone is safe! And firefighters are so cool!", the boy thought to himself as a frown appeared on his face.

"Sweetie?", his mom asked in slight worry.

"I-... I don't know…", Izuku said out loud as he stared at the floor. This was very new. He knew he was smart, that's why there weren't many things that he didn't know about. And now, he found out that he didn't know something about himself. And he couldn't let that be! "But I'm going to find out!", he shouted with a determined smile.

John and Inko smiled at their son's statement, happy that he was so eager to grow.

A whole year has passed since that conversation and the adults had already forgotten all about it. Not Izuku though. He was still looking for an answer to his father's questions, but every time he was about to find it, something came up that forced him to rethink his decision.

This led to the boy's growing frustration, not with the world or anything like that, but with himself.

Tired after his earlier workout, Izuku sat in his room and decided to watch some TV. Luck would have it, the first channel he stumbled upon was just transmitting a Villain fight.

The boy watched in amazement as a woman, probably a good couple of years older than him, delivered a whole slew of different kicks to the clearly outclassed evildoer.

"I'm here to kick your ass!", she shouted with a wide grin as her red eyes lit up.

The crowd was cheering her on and even clapped when the Villain finally gave up under her vicious assault.

"No need to thank me!", she yelled. "Helping people is my job!", and with that she jumped out of view.

But Midoriya's brain was still stuck on what she just said.

"'Helping people is my job'...", he whispered under his breath as his eyes went wide with realization.

His head snapped to a shelf on his left, where he kept his personal favorite movies. All of it was mainly action, his dad got him hooked up on something called 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' and 'DC Comics', which he used to kill time as a kid.

Izuku, being his father's son, immediately fell in love with the movies, stories and most importantly characters. He even went as far as to get some posters of his favorites - Iron Man and Batman. They were his favorites, because they were like him. Without special powers, but just as capable - if not more - as their power-wielding friends.

And then it hit him.

"Why didn't I think about it earlier?!", he groaned in frustration but smiled nonetheless.

He had his answer after all, right?

Now with a goal to pursue, young Midoriya dedicated most of his time to getting ready for UA's infamous Entrance Exam. He didn't abandon all of his previous hobbies outright, just found new ones that he enjoyed just as much - if not more - as the older ones.

He doubled down on strength training and did more cardio than previously, both of which turned out to not be as tiring as he imagined. This allowed him to squeeze in some studying on top of his physical training. After suddenly deciding to become a Pro Hero, Izuku started watching more of their fights and interviews.

Most of them said that being strong is a good thing, but if you want to be a good Hero you need to be smart as well. This might've been simply a ploy to get kids around the country to study more eagerly, but Izuku happily ignored that thought.

He felt pride in all the work he did to achieve his newly found dream, but it did have a cost. From his youngest years he had the best tutors his parents could find, which meant that he was home-schooled instead of going to a private school like most of the rich kids did.

Being home-schooled meant that he didn't really have many friends his age. Only other kids he knew were the ones he met when he accompanied his parents on different events.

Now that he set his sights on the prestigious UA, even that last source of social interactions had to be altered to suit his schedule.

His overall social ineptitude may prove to be problematic in the future, but he didn't really think about it too much, instead choosing to focus on whatever it was that he was occupying himself with at the moment, be it training, studying or relaxing.

Only a couple of months were left until the Entrance Exam and Izuku was training as hard as ever. His father offered to try and get him in as a Recommended Student, something that Izuku was quick to say 'no' to, wanting to earn the spot on his own.

John however expected his son to deny his first offer, so he proposed something different. One of his old colleagues - Dr. Richards - was a lead scientist of something called the Re-Introduce Initiative. A program that could help thousands of amputees around the world by outfitting them with cheap but functional prosthetics. The Initiative was only starting out and they didn't have any prototype prostheses yet, but what they did have were augments. Small implants that would make the eventual artificial limbs stronger without making them bulkier or heavier.

There was another roadblock however, they needed to test said augments before designing a prostheses that could utilize them. This was where Izuku could help.

He would get augments, which would make him even stronger than he already is and Richards could easily test out everything he needed to test in order to be prepared for the next step of the RI Initiative.

Izuku thought about it for some time, but ultimately decided to take up Richards' offer and allow for the augments to be implanted into his arms and legs.

Getting used to the new strength took some trial and error - and some crushed door knobs - but in the end Izuku managed to get this power under his control. Just in time for the Entrance Exam too.

Nejiro was the one to drop him off at UA since she had some errands to run anyways. It was still hard for Izuku to believe that he was about to enter the school grounds of UA.

Thankfully, he arrived quite early and had enough time to wander about before he had to show up for the written portion of the Entrance Exam.

Izuku was fairly confident in his ability to pass the theoretical part due to all the studying he had done leading up to this day. But as it turned out, he may have come a bit… overprepared. There were about forty people in the room with him and he was the first one to finish his sheet. The others were looking at him as if he was a madman or a genius.

This gave Izuku another chance to admire UA's school grounds, but he ultimately decided to head to the auditorium and snag himself a seat right in the middle of the giant room.

Thankfully, he wasn't the first one to arrive as there were already some examinees waiting patiently for others to finish their tests. Most of the already present ones were relaxing by listening to music or distracting themselves with reading, whilst only a couple looked to be concentrating on the next part, probably having some worries associated with the mystery that was the practical portion of the Entrance Exam.

It took nearly a full hour before everyone gathered in the auditorium and once that happened Present Mic walked onto the stage before explaining what the next part was all about.

Each examinee was assigned to a testing site where they would be tasked with destroying robots to accumulate points in a set amount of time. All in all a very straightforward and easy to grasp concept. Though Izuku immediately noticed that a small percentage of the audience looked to be disappointed by the reveal.

"They probably have Quirks weak or completely useless against robots or in combat in general…", Izuku thought to himself. "I'm not really sure how effective punching robots is going to be. Let's hope I don't bust both of my hands in the process"

Fighting robots wasn't something that Izuku was prepared for, but nonetheless, he came here to earn his spot at UA with his skill and strength alone, so that's exactly what he was going to do!

So... This is it. Now you see what you may find in here, so it's all up to you to do decide whether you want to subject yourself to reading this to get to the better part or if you simply don't want to have anything to do with this story.

Also, if any of you say this sounds like Cyberpunk I'm gonna lose my mind, because it's inspired by a masterpiece that I believe is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Anyways, that's all from me so I hope to see you in the future. Regardless of your decision have a nice day/evening/night.
