Episode 541: Sora At the Battle Chateau
Shortly after the battle with Diantha, Sora made his way to the Pokémon Center to have Pikachu, Pidgeot, Excadrill, Beartic, Probopass, and Marowak healed.
"Has anyone noticed how much stronger Sora has gotten since he battled against Cynthia?" Veemon asked.
"I remember. The only Pokémon he was able to take down was Garchomp, and that Pokémon was no pushover," Biyomon said.
"Sora always did train hard," Gabumon said.
"Gabumon's right. Maybe, Sora might beat her in a real battle someday," Tentomon said.
"Sora knows his opponents are going to be easy to defeat," Hawkmon said
"Yeah, and that has never stopped him before," Gatomon said.
"And I don't think it's going to stop him," Agumon said.
"Yeah. There isn't a thing he can't do, right?" Gomamon asked.
"Right," Armadillomon, Patamon, and Wormmon agreed.
"We'll have to cheer him on the next time," Palmon said.
"Extra hard!" Patamon said.
As the Digimon continued talking, Sora sat down on a bench to wait for his Pokémon to be completely healed. Serena approached Sora, in an attempt to comfort him.
"Sora, I'm sorry you didn't win," Serena said.
"Nothing to be sorry about, Serena. I gave it my best shot, and I had a blast," Sora said.
"Don't you feel bad that you lost?" Serena asked.
"No. Remember that I battled Riku before and lost on the first try? It felt just like that," Sora said. "The same when I battled against Gladion, some members of the Elite Four, and against Cynthia. Not one of them were something to sneeze at."
"Um, who's Gladion?" Serena asked.
"Right. Gladion is a trainer who Riku and I both know; in fact, he's one of our rivals," Sora explained.
"And who's Cynthia?" Serena asked.
"Cynthia's the Champion of Sinnoh. I sent a team of my strongest Pokémon and she still beat me, without putting up a sweat," Sora said. "Anyway, the point is, no matter the opponent, the best you can do is give it everything you've got, and have fun with it all the way. That's what I learned since I got started." Serena smiled.
"Same old Sora. Still as cheerful as ever. That's what made me love about him," Serena said in her thoughts.
The bell rings to indicate Sora's Pokémon were done being healed. He went to the counter to pick them up. Pikachu went to his shoulder.
"Your Pokémon are all fighting fit," Nurse Joy said.
"That's good to hear. Thanks," Sora said. Nurse Joy smiled as Diantha approached him.
"I trust your Pokémon are completely healed," Diantha said. Sora turned to see her.
"Yeah," Sora answered. "You challenging me into that battle was unexpected, but it was a real thrill. But, I want you to know that I plan on building up my strength the next time we battle."
"I'm glad you feel that way, Sora. And I'm looking forward to it," Diantha said. Both Sora and Diantha shook hands to seal the deal.
Not long after retrieving his Pokémon, he sent the five he got from Professor Oak's lab, and exchanged them for Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Helioptile, and Fletchling.
Sora is then approached by Kairi and Karen.
"Sora, you should hear this. Everyone in the SMASH Tower were watching the battle, and they feel bad for that you didn't win," Kairi said.
"How did they take it?" Sora asked.
"Wario and Walyigi were taking bets, but no one bothered; even the demon didn't bother betting," Karen said.
"I couldn't tell if it was for you to win or to lose," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said. Sora couldn't help but laugh.
"Man, those guys," Sora said, laughing. "They sure haven't changed."
Meanwhile, Dr. Wily was beginning his own project. He has begun to build evil versions of the Robot Masters Dr. Light has built before he stole them and then reprogrammed them. Remembering the blue prints from his photographic memory, he got to work on his newest forms. He even graphed them with some of his old Dark Man robots when he was attempting to frame Proto Man for kidnapping Dr. Light. Dark Cut Man, Dark Guts Man, Dark Ice Man, Dark Bomb Man, Dark Fire Man, and Dark Elec Man were all in the stages of development. Bass then entered the lab.
"You're not seriously building cheap imitations of those rejects, are you?" Bass asked.
"I am. All of my previous plans to defeat Mega Man blew several fuses, but I am much wiser. My new Dark Robot Master project is coming smoothly," Dr. Wily said.
"That's what you said before, and you botched it," Bass said.
"I admit, the scoreboard between us is one-sided, but not this time," Dr. Wily said.
"You can build more of those losers, I won't stand in your way," Bass said, taking off.
"Fine, fine. Do what you want," Dr. Wily said. "Ganondorf said about bringing in additional help, then I have just the eight to get the job done." He laughed.
In Bowser's castle in the Mushroom Kingdom, Kamek was going over a spell.
"Yes, yes, this will do it," Kamek said.
"What exactly are we doing?" Bowser asked.
"I thought I would make a copy of you, your largeness; a skeletal copy," Kamek said.
"And what do you need me for?" Bowser asked.
"I only require a small portion of your essence, your toughness," Kamek said. "Like for example, I would require a small bit of your hair."
"Ugh, fine," Bowser said. He plucked a small portion of his hair and handed it to the leading Magikoopa. "Would this do?"
"Most definitely, your evilness," Kamek said. He waved his magic wand and he swung it as a piece of Bowser's hair, and a skeleton of a Koopa. The skeleton took on his form as Bowser's skeleton. His snout is slightly morphed into a beak-like shape, while his chest and stomach are hollow due to consisting of five ribs. Dry Bowser's shell is a charcoal gray with dark red spike-rings and scarlet spaces between its plates, as opposed to his counterpart's standard green, red, and black coloration. His horns are longer and more curved, his eye sockets are more triangular, and he sports a bony brow mimicking the characteristically angry position of his living counterpart's eyebrows. Like Dry Bones, the skeleton Bowser's eyes are black and empty holes with glowing yellow pupils. The once black and shiny collars around his neck and arms have been scorched and turned a dull, very dark red, and his hair has been taken up in a ponytail similar to the hairstyle of his son, and to a certain extent, himself as a youngster.

"Ugh," the skeleton Bowser groaned with Bowser's voice. "I feel rather funny."
"Whoa! It works! It's like one of those zombie movies, only real!" Bowser said.
"Huh? Who said that? And why does it sound like-" the skeleton paused when he saw Bowser for the first time. "Hey, who are you?"
"I'm Bowser, king of the Koopas," Bowser introduced himself.
"If you're king of the Koopas, I'm a Piranha Plant," the skeleton countered. He looked at Kamek. "Kamek, who is this imposter?"
"In some way, he's you, and you're him," Kamek said. Both Bowsers looked at him puzzled.
"What?" Both Bowsers said.
"If I may, when I performed that spell, the essence merged with the skeletal remains, giving him your personality," Kamek said. "In other words, you would literally be talking to yourself, your Koopaness."
"And which one are you talking to?" Both Bowsers asked. "Hey, cut it out! Quit copying me! I'm not copying you! Quit it!"
"Oh, maybe, I should have done a much more thorough analysis," Kamek said.
"So, how are gonna tell each other apart? Not to mention the others?" Bowser asked.
"I suggest we call him, Dry Bowser, right at the Dry Bones," Kamek said.
"Dry Bowser?" The skeleton asked. "I like it. Dry Bowser! Kamek, put that on my luggage! Dry Bowser!" He laughed. "Or maybe DB." He laughed so hard until his head fell off. "Shoot." Bowser took the skull.
"Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well. We used to go bowling every other Thursday," Bowser said.
"Hey!" Dry Bowser said.
"You know, for a walking pile of bones, you're such a good-looking fellah," Bowser said.
"Well, I was thinking the same about you, for a meat bag," Dry Bowser said. Bowser hands the skull back to undead counterpart, and puts it on backwards. "There! Hey, where did everyone go?"
"Um, your boneyness, you have your head backwards," Kamek said.
"I knew that!" Dry Bowser said, turning his skull back to its normal posture. "There."
"Well, his Koopaness did say something about a membership drive," Kamek said. "I wonder if there are those who want in on the action. I better check for the most villainous villains in the Mushroom Kingdom. Better check the phone book." He took out a phone book and went over it thoroughly.
Meanwhile in Crash's world, Dr. Cortex has made a routine check on whom has shown up. Ripper Roo is among them.
One of them is a very large musclebound koala, so muscular that he seemingly lacks a neck, his head nearly level with his shoulders. His legs are very skinny however, leaving him extremely top-heavy. He has plush light grey fur, a large black nose, small black eyes with black eyebags and black eyebrows, round ears with pink insides, and a mouth which is almost always pulled back in a grimace, revealing his teeth. He wore a low-cut red tank top and mustard pants. He has his pants with a thick, black belt with a silver skull-shaped buckle on it. He wore thick black bracelets.
Another is a tall, lean figure, possessing dark brown fur and large ears which are pink inside. He has dark brown, almost black hair, which is slicked back. He has dark markings around his eyes and a lighter brown muzzle. He has a black nose and black eyes with yellow scleras. He wore a pinkish-red suit with a bright green dress shirt and black tie, as well as black shoes with white socks. He's seen carrying a Tommy gun.
Two of them are green mutant Komodo dragons. One is skinny, and one is fat. They have yellow scleras, and their irises are blue. They have eyebrow ridges which fade into blue from their green scales. They have black claws on their fingers and toes and long, spiked tails. They wore white robes with purple cloaks over the top which have gold semi-circles as trim. They wore small golden helmets with a single spike on top and purple cloth coming out around the sides and back of their heads. They each carried two scimitars. They do have a few differences between them. The skinny one is has large fangs, while the fat one has an underbite. The fat one has a small, grey beard on his chin, while the skinny one does not. The two's head shapes are vastly different; The skinny one's cheeks are more exaggerated with a longer snout, while the fat one has a more squared jaw and flatter snout. The skinny one has longer, more spindly fingers, while the fat one has bigger hands with stubbier fingers.
Another is a large, orange, muscular Tasmanian tiger with sharp fangs and pointed claws. He was often seen wearing spiked shoulder pads, metal bracelets, a green leopard-spotted loincloth, and red sneakers.
"Any idea why we're brought here," the fat Komodo dragon asked, making the koala shrug.
Evil laughter is heard when Dr. Cortex is seen coming down. He laughed maniacally until he starts coughing.
"My throat doctor told me, I shouldn't be doing that anymore," Dr. Cortex said.
The mutants were unphased by the dimwitted scientist.
"Oh, it's just him," the skinny lizard said. Ripper Roo just blew a raspberry as they turned around.
"Hey, what do you mean, 'it's just him'?! I had it all planned out, and everything!" Dr. Cortex said.
"Hey-o, I don't remember yas doin' anything special for us! It was because of youse, we got our asses kicked by that nobody bandicoot!" The potoroo exclaimed with a strong Brooklyn accent. The rest of them agreed.
"I admit, your failure was unfortunate, but I think we can help each other out by making a deal; perhaps, dealing with a common enemy. Ripper Roo just laughed hysterically. And then gave a deadpan look.
"See? Even Ripper ain't crazy enough to roll with yas," the potoroo said.
"I can understand, Pinstripe, but what if I can offer you a chance of inter dimensional conquest?" Cortex asked.
"Your invite says there be milk and cookies, and Tiny no see milk and cookies!" The tasmanian tiger roared, speaking in third person.
"Oh, I have those," Cortex said, holding out a plate of cookies. "Which would you like? I have chocolate chip, peanut butter, chocolate, oreos, and some Christmas cookies." Tiny attempted to take some, but the koala stopped him and shook his head.
"Tiny no that dumb," Tiny said.
"After you got sent to the past, all of us went our own ways," the skinny Komodo dragon said.
"But, we can start anew. Now, Tiny Tiger, Koala Kong, Komodo Moe, Komodo Joe, Ripper Roo, and Pinstripe Potoroo, the time for our revenge on Crash Bandicoot is at hand!" Cortex said.
"Who cares?" Pinstripe asked.
"Tiny get beat by Crash two times," Tiny Tiger said, holding three fingers.
"Not gonna humiliate ourselves for you again," Komodo Moe said.
"Wait, wait, wait! I'll pay you for your trouble!" Dr. Cortex said. "I'll give you money! I'll give you treasure!" The mutants all stopped. Cortex smiled, feeling proud of himself. "Treasure to make you richer than even Prince Charles."
"Keep talking," Pinstripe said.
Cortex knew he had them now.
Back in Kalos, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Dedenne, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Digimon, and SEES made a stop at the Pokémon Center when they heard two trainers talking.
"You gonna try the Battle Chateau right in town?" One of the trainers asked.
"Might as well. It'll be quite a thrill to try it even once," another trainer said.
"What are they talking about?" Ventus asked.
"Those two are talking about the Battle Chateau located not too far from here," Serena said.
"What's the Battle Chateau? This is the first I have heard about it," Terra said.
"That's a new one on me," Clemont said.
"Granted that not one of you is from Kalos, except for Clemont and Bonnie, the Battle Chateau is an old building that used to belong to a Kalos nobleman from the old days. Nowadays, it is a facility that grants noble status to any winning trainer," Serena explained.
"What do you mean, noble status?" Aqua asked.
"Well, it's like this. Sora will start from the bottom, and he would be granted the rank of Baron. Going upwards, Sora would go from a Baron, to a Viscount, to an Earl, to a Marquis, a Duke, and then to the highest rank, a Grand Duke," Serena said. "The rankings will depend on the number of battles you win."
"Sounds like the rankings of the noble status of French nobility," Mitsuru pointed out.
"The reason I'm bringing it up is because I know, it's perfect for you" Serena said.
"Not really surprised," Kairi said.
"Too bad it isn't a Badge," Ventus said.
"Or cake! I love cake!" Bonnie added.
"Nenne, ne!" Dedenne said. Clemont just chuckled nervously as Meowth just shrugged his shoulders.
"It might not be as easy, so we might as well check it out," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Clemont, Bonnie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Dedenne, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Digimon, and SEES all make their way to the Battle Chateau. Unknown to the entire group, a Honedge, still in its hilt. For some reason, it eyes Sora.
"This must be the place," Meowth said. The doors opens up.
"Wow, it's beautiful," Biyomon said.
A maid approaches the group.
"Welcome to the Battle Chateau, ladies and gentlemen," the maid said, bowing her head.
"I would like to have a battle here, if that's not too much trouble," Sora said.
"May I presume that this is your first time here in the Battle Chateau, young sir?" The maid asked.
"You may presume," Sora said. "My name is Sora, and I came from Pallet Town in the Kanto region."
"And it honors me to bid you welcome," a man wearing a suit said. "Especially for a guest who has traveled all the way from the Kanto region." He bowed his head in respect. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Duke Turner."
Duke Turner led the group through the halls of the chateau.
"So, what's the big deal about the Battle Chateau, if you don't mind me asking," Tentomon said.
"I would be happy to oblige you. Our chateau provides a thrilling battle experience, and serves as a meeting place for all the many trainers who visit here," Duke Turner explained.
"Serena was right, this place is perfect for Sora," Minato said.
"All the trainers are referred to as knights," Duke Turner said.
"And that confirms it," Junpei said. SEES were told about Sora's bloodline. They wondered if Sora had ancestors whom were knights in Kalos.
"It's an appropriate title for trainers battling in a castle," Clemont said.
"True," Duke Turner said. "And then, each and every knight is bestowed a noble title that is based on the number of their Battle Chateau victories."
"Is there something else we should know about?" Shinjiro asked.
"I heard the only trainers you're allowed to battle, are those who are in the same rank as you," Serena said.
"Yes, that is correct, young lady," Duke Turner confirmed. "I wish you luck in your highest possible noble ranking." The maid opens the door to see other trainers.
"Allow me to present you the sitting room," the maid said. The group enters inside. A pair of familiar faces spots the group; it being Noctis and Lunafreya.
"Sora," Noctis said. Sora turned to see Noctis, whom he had not seen since their last battle.
"Noctis! What are you doing here?" Sora asked.
"I happen to be a regular here in the Battle Chateau, as well as Luna here," Noctis said. "But like you, Sora, I am competing in the Kalos Pokémon League."
"It's nice to see all of you again," Luna added.
"Who's this guy?" Minato asked.
"Guys, we want you to meet a trainer we met a while back in the Sinnoh region," Sora said.
"My name is Noctis Lucis Caelum," Noctis introduced himself.
"And I'm Lunafreya Nox Fleuret; but call me Luna," Luna said.
"My name's Clemont, and this is my little sister Bonnie," Clemont introduced both himself and his sister.
"Noct, Luna, meet Minato Arisato, Aigis, Mitsuru Kirijo, Akihiko Sanadas, Shinjiro Aragaki, Junpei Iori, Yukari Takeba, Fuuka Yamagishi, Ken Amada, Metis, and their canine companion Koromaru," Sora introduced the members of SEES. "And this is Karen. She's my long lost twin sister."
"Sister?" Luna asked, surprised.
"This is quite a shock," Noctis said.
"It was when I learned who I really was," Karen said.
"It's good to meet you, Karen," Notis said. He sets his attention to Sora. "We saw you battle against Diantha; but it was a shame that you lost, Sora."
"It's no big deal. I gave it my best shot," Sora said. "And since you're here, I can bet you're a Grand Duke."
"He is," Luna confirmed. "He worked hard to make it to the top."
Pikachu turned to his right, and he noticed someone clinging to a wall.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
Everyone turned to look at the mouse Pokémon.
"What's up, Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Chu!" Pikachu said.
Everyone turned to see a man wearing a gray suit, with a black undershirt and brown shoes. Hehas dark skin, black hair and grayish eyes. He wore three stones in his hair, colored yellow, red and blue.
"What's that guy doing up there?" Ken asked.
"That would be Grant. He's a regular here in the Battle Chateau," Notis said. "He has a passion to climb up walls and large rocks."
"I am terribly sorry to interrupt, but I believe that you have a debut battle to attend to," Duke Turner said.
"You're right," Sora said. "Who's going to be my opponent?"
"An opponent has yet been decided," Duke Turner said.
"I'll take you up on that, Sora," Terra said. Everyone turned to Terra with a surprise.
"You, Terra?" Serena asked.
"Why not? Thor could use the exercise," Terra said.
"Pika," Thor agreed.
"Then, I'll take you up for it," Sora said.
Viola enters inside the sitting room. She wore her hair in a ponytail with her bangs hanging off both sides of her face and wore a white and green dress with dark green heels.
"Sora?" Viola asked. She noticed Grant up on the wall. He turned and waved at her. She waved back.
Sora and Terra enters the battlefield to begin their battle. They were filled in on how to begin the battle. They would clash their Pokéballs as they were knights clashing their swords when dueling.
"The battle between Knight Sora and Knight Terra is about to commence! Whom shall win, shall be rewarded the noble title of Baron," the maid said.
"Understood," Terra said.
"Ready when you are, Terra," Sora said.
"Please, begin the battle," the maid said. Sora and Terra tapped their Pokéballs together.
"To a good battle," Terra said.
"To a good battle," Sora said.
With that said, both Pikachu and Thor entered the battlefield, ready to battle.
"Thor! Start things up with Quick Attack!" Terra ordered. Thor ran towards Pikachu with Quick Attack.
"You use Quick Attack, too!" Sora ordered.
Pikachu ran towards Thor with his own Quick Attack. Both Pikachu collided with each other.
"Wait, what were in those Pokéballs?" Minato asked.
"Nothing, because those were Pikachu's and Thor's," Ventus said.
"Thor! Use Mega Punch!" Terra ordered. Thor lands a Mega Punch onto Pikachu. "Now, use Mega Kick!" Thor moved in with Mega Kick.
"Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu swings tail, and grabs Thor by the leg. "Bring him down!" Thor swung his tail, and sends Thor on the ground. Thor gets back up on his feet.
"You okay, Thor?" Terra asked.
"Chu," Thor replied.
"Good. Use Thunderbolt!" Terra ordered. Thor unleashed Thunderbolt.
"Use your tail!" Sora called out. Pikachu laid down, and raises his tail. It absorbs the electricity.
Right to Grant and Viola, they were watching the battle closely.
"That's pretty impressive. I never would have thought of that," Grant said.
"I wouldn't have either, but that Sora is even better than I remember," Viola said. "As for Terra, this is the first time I've ever seen him battle."
"I taken it that you battled against him before," Grant said.
"I did. I almost had him, too," Viola said.
Honedge continued to eye Sora from above.
"Okay, Pikachu! Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran towards Thor with electricity still coursing in his tail.
"Dodge it, Thor!" Terra called out. Thor moved to his right. "Use Mega Punch!" Thor moved in with Mega Punch.
"Iron Tail!" Sora ordered. Pikachu swings his tail, colliding with each other. Pikachu pushes Thor back with Thor's own Thunderbolt, playing a role against him. Thor is pushed all the way back. "Use Electro Web!" Pikachu forms Electro Web and sends it right at Thor.
"Dodge it!" Terra called out. Thor tried to dodge, but he gets caught in the electrified web.
"Pi!" Thor cried.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, landing a hit. Thor felt the combined electricity in his body, and he was taken down.
"And Terra's Pikachu is unable to continue! The title of Baron goes to Sora!" The maid announced as Sora is presented a white cape, to state his title. "Congratulations, Baron Sora."
"Thank you," Sora said.
"Baron Sora. Rolls right off the tongue," Meowth said.
"Congratulations, Sora. You earned it," Terra said.
"Pika, Pikachu," Thor agreed.
"Thanks, Terra. You battled hard," Sora said. He turned to Thor. "You too, Thor."
"Pika," Thor said.
"Hope I didn't hurt you too badly, Thor." - Pikachu subtitle.
"You didn't. That was a good combo." - Thor subtitle.
Sora has earned the title of Baron in the Battle Chateau, and this is where will leave for right now, but more shall come soon.
