Betrayal.

Heartbreak.

These feelings were not new to the Phantom Thieves. They have each felt them before in their lives.

But this was different. They were best friends, they weren't supposed to treat each other like this.

"So," Ryuji said slowly. "It's gonna be like that, huh?"

Akira nodded. "I guess it is."

Ryuji set his jaw.

Akira cracked his neck.

Ryuji slammed his hand down on the table. "How can you sit there and look me in the eye and say that shit's a good movie?!"

Akira leaned forward. "I think the Americans had a really interesting take on the character. Let's be honest, Godzilla had been kind of stale for a while."

"I can't believe what I'm hearing," Ryuji muttered. "They butchered him, man!"

This argument had been going on for almost ten minutes at this point, Tae noted. Makoto and Ryuji had come over to spend a little time with her and Akira, when the topic of movies came up.

Akira let it slip that he considered the American Godzilla movie to be his favorite, something Ryuji took great offense to.

And now, here they were. Arguing over a dumb movie with a dumb lizard.

Makoto shook her head. "Honestly, they get so worked up over stuff like this."

"I don't know," Tae said. "I think it's kind of cute."

"'Koto, can you tell him that he's off his effin' rocker!" Ryuji pleaded.

"Tae, please, back me up on this one," Akira asked.

Makoto and Tae shared a glance with each other.

"I don't know…" Makoto said uneasily. "I thought the 2014 one was alright? They treated him with a certain amount of respect. I really don't get why you hate it so much, Ryuji."

"We're talking about the 1998 one," he answered.

"Oh." Her face fell and she gave Akira a sad look. "Oooh, no."

"I'm going to have to agree with him on this one, Akira," Tae said. "You can't always have great taste."

"Hah!" Ryuji loudly declared. "In your face!"

Akira slumped in his chair and accepted defeat.
