Episode 559: That's Pretty Kleavor
A little bit away from Shalour City, Riku, Naminé, Eevee, and Azurill have made a stop as Riku is challenged to a battle. The trainer Riku is battling has a Malamar out as Riku is using his Scyther.
"Okay, Malamar! Use Night Slash!" The trainer ordered. Malamar came at Scyther with Night Slash.
"Dodge it, Scyther, and you use your own Night Slash!" Riku ordered. Scyther dodges Malamar's attack and attacked with Night Slash. "Use X-Scissor!" Scyther slashed at Malamar with X-Scissor.
"Malamar! Use Flamethrower!" The trainer ordered. Malamar fired Flamethrower at Scyther.
"Dodge and with Quick Attack!" Riku ordered. Scyther manages to dodge with Quick Attack and then lands a hit on the squid-like Pokémon.
"Malamar! Use Night Slash!" The trainer ordered. Malamar came right at Scyther with Night Slash.
"X-Scissor on the spot, Scyther!" Riku ordered. Scyther gave Malamar a slash with X-Scissor, dealing some heavy damage. Due to the fact that Malamar is a Dark and Psychic Type Pokémon, it has taken such heavy damage, resulting in a knockout.
"Aah! My Malamar!" The trainer exclaimed. He called his Malamar back.
"Okay, that was something, but I don't quit that easily!" The trainer said, taking out another Pokéball and threw it. "Move right in, Pinsir!" His Pinsir emerged from inside. "Pinsir! Use Vise Grip!"
"Scyther! Use X-Scissor!" Riku ordered. Scyther slashed across Pinsir, sending the stag beetle Pokémon flying backwards and hits a tree.
"Pinsir, get up!" The trainer exclaimed. Pinsir got back up and clampped its pincers, feeling angered. "Show that Scyther what a real X-Scissor looks like!" Pinsir came rushing at Scyther with X-Scissor, ready to strike Scyther.
"Dodge with Quick Attack and come at it with X-Scissor!" Riku ordered. Scyther successfully dodges Pinsir's X-Scissor and lands a hit onto the stag beetle Pokémon, resulting in a knockout. The trainer called back his Pinsir and he took out four more of his Pokéballs.
"Staraptor, Ursaring, Weavile, Diggersby! Go!"The trainer shouted. His Pokéballs all open and the four Pokémon emerged from inside. "Staraptor! Use Wing Attack! Ursaring! Fire Punch! Weavile! Ice Punch! Diggersby! Use Thunder Punch!" All of the Pokémon went to attack the lone Scyther.
"If you think you're gonna win just by cheating, then think again! Night Slash all around!" Riku ordered. Scyther came at the four opposing Pokémon and lands a Night Slash on each one of his opponents. All of them were taken down with just one hit. The trainer was just flabbergasted by the sight of his Pokémon defeated.
"OH NO!!!!!!!!!" The trainer yelled.
"And that's that," Riku said. The trainer growled as he called back his fallen Pokémon.
"I'll remember this!" The trainer exclaimed, taking off.
"Excellent work, Scyther," Riku said.
"Scyther," Scyther said. Riku took out Scyther's Pokéball.
"Take a good rest, Scyther. You battled enough," Riku said, calling back Scyther.
Meanwhile, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Clemont, Bonnie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Dedenne, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Digimon, and Team Natsu had just left the Pokémon Center and Sora has exchanged Lucario, Inkay, and Lucario for Chespin, Fennekin, and Bunnelby.
The group were walking down through the woods as Sora stepped on something.
"Ouch!" Sora yelped. He looked to see what he stepped on. It was a glassy black stone that produces a sharp cutting edge when split. Sora picked it up. "What the heck is this thing?"
"It looks like a rock," Natsu said.
"Not any rock I have ever seen," Clemont said.
"Whatever it is, it looks important," Terra said.
"You think so, Terra?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, it looks really familiar. It feels like I've seen it somewhere before, but I can't really put my finger on it," Terra said.
"Well, if it is important, then I'll have to hold onto it for a while," Sora said. He puts it in his pocket. Just when the group was about to keep going, they hear a rustling sound.
"What's that?" Hawkmon asked.
"Whatever it was, it sounds close," Lucy said.
They group went to investigate when they saw it was a Pancham, wearing a pair of red-trimmed shades on its forehead. Pancham was doing its own training.
"A Pancham," Ventus said.
"What's it doing?" Wendy asked.
"He must be training," Kairi guessed.
"Eevee," Angel added.
Pancham turned and saw the group. Pancham flipped and lands right in front of Sora. Pancham points to Sora.
"Pancham, cham!" Pancham said.
"Pancham wants to battle you," Meowth said.
"Cham, Pan, Pan, Pancham, cham, cham, Pancham," Pancham said.
"Pancham just said if he wins, then he gets that necklace of yours," Meowth translated.
"If you want it, then you're gonna have to earn it," Sora said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Okay, Chespin! Come on out!" His Pokéball opened and Chespin stood before the panda-like Pokémon. Pancham starts the assault with an Arm Thrust. "Dodge and use Tackle!" Chespin manages to dodge Pancham's Arm Thrust and lands a Tackle onto Pancham. "Tackle again!" Chespin charged at Pancham, but he caught the spiny nut Pokémon and gave him a toss.
"That was Circle Throw!" Karen exclaimed. Chespin flipped and lands on his feet.
"Pika, Pika!" Blossom said.
"Use Vine Whip!" Sora ordered. Pancham sends out Vine Whip and whooped Pancham hard. "Use Seed Bomb!" Chespin fired Seed Bomb at Pancham, but Pancham caught the seed and threw it back at Chespin. It came too fast for Chespin to react. He got hit by his own attack. Pancham came back with a vengeance and have Chespin a few hits with Arm Thrust. Pancham then gave Chespin a Karate Chop. "Chespin!" Chespin's Overgrow ability activates as his body gave off a bright green glow. Sora knew what that meant. "Vine Whip!" Chespin lands a hit with Vine Whip, stronger than before. "Use Seed Bomb!" Chespin fired Seed Bomb, landing a heavy hit. Sora saw Pancham was weakened enough, so he took out a Pokéball and threw it. Pancham flows inside and the Pokéball starts to wobble around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Pancham with him. He chose to send Pancham over to Professor Oak's lab.
"Good catch, Sora," Clemont said.
"Thanks. That Pancham sure was a tough one," Sora said. He turned to Chespin. "Good job, Chespin."
"Chespin!" Chespin said as he started to evolve. Everyone were awestruck by Chespin's sudden evolution. Chespin was now a Quilladin. "Quill? Quilladin!"
"Chespin had just evolved into a Quilladin," Terra said.
"That'll be two new Pokémon under your belt," Lucy said.
"Aye," Happy said.
Unknown to anyone, the Mime Jr from before has finally caught up with them. Mime Jr was pleased to follow them at last. Matthew was also still following as well. He had to make certain there aren't any Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed in the area.
After a couple of days, things were normal for the most part as Natsu and Gray argued as always, and Erza has shut them up as always. She did so just by beating them senseless.
The sun was beginning to set as everyone got to the Pokémon Center to rest for the night when they spotted Riku, Naminé, Eevee, and Azurill.
"Hey, Sora. Good of you to come," Riku said.
"Right back you, Riku," Sora said.
"I take it you have your third Gym Badge, right?" Riku asked.
"I did. And we're heading for Courmarine City," Sora said.
"Great," Riku said.
After having their Pokémon checked up, the group sat down for dinner and talked. Natsu was stuffing his face with hamburgers as Happy stuffed his face with raw fish. Natsu's face was getting covered in more mustard and ketchup with each bite. Sora filled Riku and Naminé in about their recent Team Shadow and Team Flare encounter, also sharing about Muggshot being seen.
"Any signs of Team Shadow on your part?" Sora asked.
"None. Things have been quiet for a while, and it's bugging me," Riku said. "At least you got to them this time."
"Yeah," Sora said. "And they might pop up again rather if we want them to or not."
"I can bet," Riku said. He sighed. "The same for Team Flare. What are those guys after?"
"Whatever it is, it's not good," Naminé said.
"Azu," Azurill chirped.
"She's right. Those guys will stop at nothing to meet their goals," Gabumon said.
Just then, a ringing is head, indicating that their Pokémon are ready for pickup. Sora, Kairi, and Riku picked up their Pokémon and went to check in where they'll be sleeping. A Wigglytuff is mopping the floor as Sora slipped and fell.
"Whoa!" Sora yelped as he fell. The stone goes flying out of his pocket. Tentomon manages to catch it.
"Got it!" Tentomon said.
"Tuff! Wigglytuff!" Wigglytuff said an apologetic tone.
"It's okay, Wigglytuff. It wasn't your fault," Sora said.
"Wigglytuff," Wigglytuff said. Tentomon hovered back down.
"Here, Sora. This went flying out of your pocket," Tentomon said.
"Thanks," Sora said, taking the stone. Riku looked right at it.
"Sora, where did you get that rock?" Riku asked.
"Found that the other day. Terra said it was important. Why?" Sora asked.
"I think I might have seen something like this before," Riku said. "I think we should give Professor Kukui a call. Hope he's not asleep."
Over to Mele Mele Island, the phone rings as Professor Kukui went to answer it.
"Who could be calling this late at night?" Professor Kukui answered. He answered it. "Hello, you have reached the Kukui residence." The screen switches to Sora and Riku.
"Alola, professor," Riku greeted. "Hope I didn't catch you at a bad time."
"Not at all, Riku. And Sora as well! It's always good to hear from you. What is it that you're calling about?"
"I was hoping you would tell us about this," Riku said, showing the professor of Alola the stone. He was awestruck to see it.
"Wow, what do you know? Nobody have seen one of these for so many years!" Professor Kukui said.
"Do you have any idea what this stone is, professor?" Sora asked.
"You see, what you got here is a Black Augurite. I never would have imagined you would get your hands on one of those," Professor Kukui said.
"Black Augurite?" Sora asked. "You heard of it, Riku?"
"No, I didn't," Riku said. "I don't think I ever did."
"You wouldn't have, anyway. This stone was first discovered long ago in the Hisui region before it was renamed the Sinnoh region. Which one of you found that and where?" Professor Kukui asked.
"That would me, professor. Terra said it looked important. I accidentally found it after we left Shalour City," Sora explained.
"I would say it was a happy accident, Sora. And Terra was right to say it's important," Professor Kukui said.
"Why is it so important, professor?" Riku asked.
"Glad you asked, Riku. The Black Augurite has the ability to make Scyther evolve into a Pokémon called a Kleavor," Professor Kukui said.
"Kleavor?" Sora and Riku asked.
"Wait, didn't you say something about Scyther having a branch evolution before?" Sora pointed out.
"You're right," Riku said. "Professor, did you know?"
"I did, but I thought you would find another way," Professor Kukui said. "Apparently, you found the one way without knowing it, till now."
"Just how do I use it?" Riku asked.
"I think you should use it the same way as an Evolution Stone. That is pretty much the jist of it," Professor Kukui said. "I suggest you give that a try and let me know how the results turn out."
"I'll do that," Riku said.
"And give your mom a call when you get the chance, too," Professor Kukui said.
"I will," Riku said, feeling embarrassed.
"Anyway, I should head to bed now. My wife will come looking for me if I take too long. Night, boys," Professor Kukui said, hanging up. Sora and Riku looked at each other.
"Think we should try it in the morning?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, we should," Riku answered.
With that said, they decided to head right to bed and give what they learned a try on the very next morning.
A few hours later, in the dark of the night, mysterious figures sneak around. The silhouettes of various Pokémon made their way through the woods.
Among the Pokémon wondering around, there is a Wyrdeer, stepping into the moonlight along with a small group of Hisuian Growlithe.
On the very next morning, everyone got right up as Riku has let out his Scyther. Most of the group were still drowsy having to be woken up so early in the morning.
"So, what's so important that we couldn't sleep in?" Meowth asked with a yawn.
"Just a little experiment I wanna try," Riku said. He took out the Black Augurite and he held it to his Scyther. "Okay, Scyther, you ready."
"Scy?" Scyther asked. He took the black stone and then started to glow. Everyone was awestruck to see the sudden evolution.
"What's happening to Scyther?" Gray asked.
"Scyther's evolving, that's what," Sora said.
Scyther has finished evolving and everyone were awestruck to see what they were looking at wasn't a Scizor. Instead, it is an armored bug Pokémon with a tan and white body. It has black axe-like hands at the end of its tan arms, with its shoulders having rocky protrusion around it. Its feet have two sharp toes each and there are three white spikes on its back. Its face has a rock like formation going around it, similar to a mask, and has a singular spike on top of its head.
"It worked," Riku said.
The newly evolved Pokémon swung its axe-like hands around and let out a loud cry.
"Kleavor!" The Pokémon shouted.
Sora took out his Arceus-like device and used it to scan it. The data came right in.

Kleavor is violent creature that fells towering trees with its crude axes and shields itself with hard stone. If one should chance upon this Pokémon in the wilds, one's only recourse is to flee.
"Professor Kukui was right," Sora said. He saw Kleavor has learned a knew move right after evolving. He puts his smartphone away.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Clemont, have you seen a Pokémon like that before?" Bonnie asked.
"No I didn't, Bonnie. I never even heard of a Kleavor before," Clemont said.
Riku looked at his newly evolved Pokémon and he smiled.
"You look so strong. No, stronger," Riku said. "I would like to test you out in battle."
"Kleavor," Kleavor said.
"And I think I can take you up on that," Sora said, taking out his Pokémon Box. He exchanges Fletchinder for Scizor. He took out Scizor's Pokéball and tossed it. "Come on out, Scizor!" His Pokéball opened and Scizor emerges from inside.
"Scizor!" Scizor said.
"How about we find out which one is the strongest? Scizor vs Kleavor," Sora said. Riku smirked as he looked at Kleavor.
"That's not a bad idea," Riku said. He turned to Kleavor. "You up for it, Kleavor?"
"Vor," Kleavor said.
Both evolved forms of Scyther took their positions for battle. Both Scizor and Kleavor stared at each other as they both knew this will be a battle worth remembering.
"Okay, Scizor's a Steel Type, so he's got the advantage here," Bonnie said.
"Maybe, but I'm interested in seeing how well Riku can handle his new Pokémon," Naminé said.
"Azu," Azurill said.
"Kleavor! Quick Attack!" Riku ordered. Kleavor rushed at Scizor.
"You use Quick Attack, too!" Sora ordered. Scizor rushed at Kleavor and the two bugs collide with each other. Both have felt little damage to each other. "Scizor! Use Bullet Punch!"
"Kleavor! Use X-Scissor!" Riku ordered. Kleavor came at Scizor with X-Scissor as Scizor does the same thing. Kleavor delivered a blow onto Scizor. The pincer Pokémon skids backwards, having to feel Kleavor's X-Scissor. "That was great, Kleavor!"
"Not bad, Riku! Here's one! Scizor! Use Metal Claw!" Sora ordered. Scizor came rushing at Kleavor with Metal Claw.
"Dodge and use Night Slash!" Riku ordered. Kleavor rushed at Scizor and lands a hit with Night Slash. Scizor has felt a lot of damage from that attack.
"Scizor! Use X-Scissor!" Sora ordered.
"X-Scissor!" Riku ordered.
Scizor and Kleavor clashed at each other with X-Scissor and held on. They were trying to overpower each other. In the end, it was Kleavor who overpowered Scizor and send him flying.
"Scizor!" Sora called out.
"And here's a new move I think I'll try! Stone Axe!" Riku ordered. Kleavor rushed at Scizor and swung his axe-like hand at Scizor, sending him against a wall. Sora was shocked to see Riku had figured it out.
"Scizor, get up!" Sora called out. Scizor struggled to get back up, but fell out of exhaustion. Sora has lost.
"Well done, Kleavor. You were better than I thought," Riku said.
"Vor," Kleavor said.
Sora helps Scizor on his feet.
"You okay, Scizor?" Sora asked.
"Zor," Scizor replied.
"You were awesome out there. You did your best," Sora said.
"Hey," Riku called out. He tossed an Oran Berry to Sora, and he caught it. He fed it to Scizor, healing him of his injuries. "You battled hard, Sora."
"Thanks, so did you," Sora said.
But it did draw in a crowd.
"Did you see that?"
"That Pokémon took down that Scizor like it wasn't a problem."
"Who is that guy?"
"And who's that Pokémon?"
"Where did everyone come from?" Kairi asked.
"They must have been drawn into the match," Aqua said.
"And all eyes are on Kleavor," Agumon said. Riku called Kleavor as Sora called back Scizor to rest.
After the battle, Sora and Riku went inside and gave Professor Kukui another call. He answered the phone.
"Riku, Sora, how were the results?" Professor Kukui asked.
"We found out you were right; Riku's Scyther did evolve into a Kleavor," Sora said as Riku has let out Kleavor. Professor Kukui was awestruck by what he was seeing.
"So, that's a Kleavor! I never seen one for real! I would like to see it up close!" Professor Kukui said.
"We tested him out for battle, and Sora used his Scizor against Kleavor," Riku said.
"So, you had a battle. And who won?" Professor Kukui asked.
"That'll be Riku. His Kleavor was way stronger than he was a Scyther," Sora said.
"I see," Professor Kukui said. He chuckled. "You boys are full of surprises. Professor Redwood is going to bust a button when he hears about this." He laughed. "I should go and give him a call. Try to be in touch, you two!" He hangs up again.
"You think Professor Oak will feel the same way, Sora?" Riku asked.
"Oh, yeah. If discovering Meltan was one thing, having an evolved form of Scyther will make his head spin," Sora said. Sora dialed Professor Oak's lab. He waited after a few rings and the Pokémon Professor answered.
"Sora, Riku, good to hear from you. What can I do for you?" Professor Oak asked.
"Professor, I think we have a new Pokémon for you to see," Sora. Professor Oak was about to ask what Sora was talking about when he spots Kleavor in the background.
"Ah, A Kleavor. I have never thought I would see one with my own eyes," Professor Oak said. "And whose Pokémon is that?"
"Mine," Riku said. "Sora found a Black Augurite just a few days ago, and we used it to evolve my Scyther into a Kleavor."
"I see," Professor Oak said. "I must say, it is an amazing Pokémon to see, Riku. I don't doubt you would test it out in battle."
"We already did that, professor. Riku's Kleavor has beaten my Scizor like it was not a problem," Sora said.
"Is that so? I am impressed," Professor Oak said. "You two have played an important role in Pokémon research. Well-done." Professor Oak smiled. "But, Riku, I must ask if you have gotten your gift yet?" Riku was confused.
"What gift?" Riku asked.
"I thought not. Tails has asked me to send Sora's Dragonite and I have sent him out to Kalos just before you called," Professor Oak said.
"We'll keep our eyes open for him, professor," Sora said.
"Thank you both for bringing this to my attention. I'll have to look into Kleavor, and this Black Augurite as best as I can," Professor Oak said. "Before we part, where are you heading next?"
"We're heading to Courmarine City. I already won three Kalos Gym Badges," Sora said.
"Wonderful," Professor Oak said. "Until we meet again, goodbye for now." He hung up as Sora hears a whooshing soung. Everyone all rushed outside to see Sora's Dragonite fly down.
"Look! Another dragon Pokémon!" Happy said.
"How sweet!" Natsu gleefully said.
"And amazing," Wendy said.
"Aw, Dragonite is such a cutie!" Bonnie said, laughing.
"I'm guessing you're here for a delivery, Dragonite?" Sora asked. Dragonite nodded and hands the package to Riku. He opened the package to see two S-Pods, one being black, and one being white.
"What are these?" Naminé asked.
"They're S-Pods, just like ours," Ventus said.
"Thanks, Dragonite," Riku said, putting on his S-Pod.
"Yeah, thanks for the delivery, Dragonite," Sora said. Dragonite smiled.
"Can I play with Dragonite, please?" Bonnie asked.
"Sure thing. You don't mind, do you?" Sora asked. Dragonite shook his head as Dragonite lowered himself. Sora picked Bonnie up and placed her on his back. "Okay, don't fly too fast, okay?" Dragonite started to fly in the air, making Bonnie laugh.
"Hey, I wanna go next!" Natsu said.
"Aye! Me too!" Happy said.
"You're going to have to wait your turn, Natsu," Karen said.
Now that Riku's Scyther has evolved into a Kleavor, what about the other Pokémon that has suddenly showed up from out of the blue in the night before? What are the chances for Sora and his friends to meet them? Find out as the story continues.
