Episode 560: A Campus Reunion
A couple of days passed since Sora and Riku battled with their evolved forms of Scyther, and the battle ending in Riku's favor. After the battle, Scizor was healed up at the Pokémon Center, and then Scizor was exchanged for Fletchinder.
Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Clemont, Bonnie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Dedenne, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Digimon, and Team Natsu are all walking down the streets of a town. Clemont beamed as he looked around.
Cars drive on the road as Bonnie is excited to see a device on the sidewalk.
"There they are! There they are!" Bonnie exclaimed happily. "I see them!"
"See what?" Riku asked.
"You go right ahead, Dedenne. Pikachu, Blossom, Thor, Eclair, Sparky, you too," Clemont said.
All of the Electric Type Pokémon enters the device as electricity streams into their bodies, finding it to their liking.
"An electric shower," Sora said.
"Pikachu, Dedenne, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Blossom are loving it," Kairi said.
"I know, right? My Big brother built them all by himself," Bonnie said.
"You did?" Veemon asked.
"Yeah, I call them Clemontic Showers. I thought of these of giving powers to Electric Type Pokémon to rebuild their electric supply," Clemont said.
"Wow, that's a good idea," Lucy said.
"Indeed. You have quite a gift, Clemont," Erza agreed.
"Yeah. This place hasn't changed a bit," Clemont said. "It really takes me back."
"Clemont?" A girl's voice asked. They all turned to see a young woman with blue hair and blue eyes. She wore a white lab coat, and a yellow shirt underneath. She is holding a clipboard. "It's really you, Clemont!"
"Ms. Eclairisse! It's been so long!" Clemont said. He ran up to her.
"Who's she?" Ventus asked.
"I don't know, but I do know, Clemont seems to know her," Meowth said.
"Ms. Eclairisse, I want you to meet my friends. Meet Bonnie, my little sister. This is Sora, his twin sister Karen, his cousin Ven, and his girlfriend Kairi. Riku and his girlfriend Naminé. This is Aqua and her boyfriend Terra. These are Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, Wendy, Charla, and Happy. And these are the Digimon; Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Palmon, Tentomon, Gomamon, Veemon, Armadillomon, Hawkmon, Patamon, Wormmon, and Gatomon. Everyone, meet Ms. Eclairisse," Clemont introduced.
"Nice to meet all of you," Ms. Eclairisse said. She looked at Bonnie. "So, you're Bonnie. Clemont has told me all about how cute and sweet you are. I'm really happy to finally meet you."
"And Clemont's told me a lot about you! Always saying how pretty and nice Ms. Eclairisse is," Bonnie gushed. "I think he really, really likes you! You're a keeper, so please take care of my brother!" Clemont exclaimed in embarrassment.
"I'm a keeper?" Ms. Eclairisse asked.
"You'd be perfect for him because you're smart," Bonnie said.
"What?" Ms. Eclairisse asked, blushing.
Clemont screams, "I told you to stop this a million times!" Clemont activates his Aipon arm and grabbed Bonnie.
"I was only just trying to help you! Come on!" Bonnie argued.
"I don't need that kind of help, Bonnie!" Clemont said.
A few minutes later, Clemont and Bonnie have both calmed down and Ms. Eclairisse escorted the group to the school Clemont once attended.
"There's a school where you can learn about Electric Type Pokémon?" Lucy asked.
"If you think things were getting hotter, that's when things are starting to get electrifying," Happy said.
"Yeah, it's in the middle of town," Bonnie said. "See, Clemont was a student there."
"No joke?" Karen asked.
"Nope," Clemont said. "And there it is."
They all saw it was a school made for Electric Type Pokémon since it looked like a power plant.
"Would you all like a tour of our facility?" Ms. Eclairisse asked.
"Is that really okay?" Terra asked.
"Of course it is," Ms. Eclairisse said with a smile.
Ms. Eclairisse gave the group a tour of the school grounds, looking around. Unknown to the group, a Luxio is watching them from below. It was looking at Clemont and scoffed at them, and walked away.
"Of all the places in the whole stinkin' world, he had to pick this one. How dare he show his face around here after what he did." - Luxio subtitle.
"Here at our school, trainers travel here from all over to learn everything they can about Electric Type Pokémon," Ms. Eclairisse explained as they passed by the students. Some of them were feeding a Mareep and a Flaaffy. Inside, a Magneton is shooting out electricity in a lab. "Our students specialize in researching the biology and behaviors of Electric Type Pokémon. Their studies extend to Pokémon of other Types as well. As part of their research, they learn all about how people and Pokémon can and should coexist in harmony."
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"An impressive school," Erza said.
"I was hoping you would be pleased," Ms. Eclairisse said. She led the group outside. They all sat down as Natsu was stuffing his face with the food provided to them. "Many, many great trainers have gone on to be very successful after leaving this school. But Clemont is one of the most notable graduates of all."
"Come on, I think you're exaggerating a bit," Clemont said.
"No way! You're amazing!" Bonnie said. "Yup! You keep coming up with these totally incredible inventions that always blow up in the end!"
"Denne, ne!" Dedenne said.
"It's kinda hard to argue with that logic, Clemont," Sora said.
"Even though you tried, but you gave it what you've got," Aqua said.
"They call you the Electric Type Whiz Kid all over Lumiose City, don't they?" Ms. Eclairisse asked. "I know your father calls you that too."
"I can hear him saying that," Riku said. "At least your dad is the loving kind, not like mine." He remembered how his dad was, taking him from Yuna, only to end up dead by the police. That fight with NeoDevimon didn't help keeping it down. Naminé placed her hand on her boyfriend's hand as she gave him a sorrowful look. Sora and Kairi understood what he was going through. Karen leaned towards her brother.
"Did something happen between Riku and his dad?" Karen asked in a whisper.
"Riku didn't have a good relationship with his dad when he was a little kid. His mom is all he has left in the world," Sora whispered to his sister. "I think it'll be best if we explain later."
"Was it your dad who told you to attend the school, Clemont?" Gray asked.
"That's right. He thought it was a good idea to meet lots of Pokémon trainers, make lots of friends. He also said I should study hard and, broaden my horizons," Clemont said.
"How did it work out?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah, did you make lots of friends?" Agumon asked.
"I made friends with all kinds of great students and Pokémon too. But all that studying and research was tough, to say the least," Clemont said.
"The curriculum here is quite rigorous. It's a challenge to do the work and make it all the way to graduation," Ms. Eclairisse said.
"Yes, and my graduation research was particularly tough," Clemont said.
"Graduation research?" Wendy asked.
"I studied the power of Electric Type Pokémon and how of science can build the future," Clemont said. "That was my major focus."
"I recall you did struggle with that," Ms. Eclairisse pointed out. "You said you couldn't come up with any good topics."
"Right, so I used to go for walks and try to clear my mind. That's when I met you-know-who," Clemont said. The whole group were curious to know who he was talking about.
"Who are you talking about?" Sora asked. Clemont chuckled.
(Flashback)
We take a look a few years back. Young Clemont was taking a stroll, trying to think of an idea for his graduation research. He then heard some rustling in the bushes. He turned to see a male Shinx coming out of the bushes. The male Shinx is tired.
"A Shinx!" Young Clemont said.
"Shinx," the Shinx said weakly, falling forward. Young Clemont ran over to the tired Shinx and helped him up.
"Oh, yeah, the Pokémon Center!" Young Clemont said. He started to run towards the town's Pokémon Center to help the weakened Shinx. He did arrive there and checked the flash Pokémon in. After a few minutes, Nurse Joy and Wigglytuff.
"Thanks so much for waiting. This Shinx was completely exhausted, so it took an exceptional amount of time to recover," Nurse Joy said.
"Shinx!" The Shinx said. Young Clemont picked Shinx up from the stretcher.
"What a relief!" Young Clemont said.
"Shinx!" Shinx happily said.
"I've seen this more times than I can count. It appears to have something to do with the local environment," Nurse Joy said. "If only there were a place where these Pokémon could easily absorb electrical energy."
"A place where they could easily absorb electrical energy," young Clemont repeated. An idea popped into his head. "That's it! I've come up with a great idea, Shinx!" He laughed.
"Shinx?" Shinx asked, puzzled.
That night, Clemont has turned on his computer and he got his idea in the works. It was the electric showers everyone saw in the present.
"I'll collect the power generated by the school's Pokémon, and store it in a battery, and send it by cables throughout the town, and make an electricity shower for Electric Type Pokémon," young Clemont said. "I'll call it the Clemontic Shower!" He chuckled to himself. "I can just see it. The future is now, thanks to science!" He turned to the window when he heard the sound of tapping on the glass. He saw it was the Shinx from before. "Shinx!" He went and opened the window. He took Shinx over to the computer. "Here, see this? With my new system, you'll be able to absorb all that electricity I know you love so much."
"Shinx, Shinx!" Shinx said.
"I wanna make a town where Electric Type Pokémon can live happily... No, a world where all Pokémon can live happily! That would be my dream come true!" Young Clemont said. "Shinx, you'd live there, now wouldn't you?" Shinx jumped out of his arms.
"Shinx, Shinx, Shinx!" Shinx nodded.
(Flashback ends)
"That's how I completed my graduate research project," Clemont said proudly.
"The electric transmission system that Clemont invented was well-received not by the school, but by the entire town's population as well," Ms. Eclairisse said.
"Wow, what a great story," Aqua said.
"It sure was," Terra agreed.
"Lucy was right, it was a great idea," Gray said.
"This is the first time you ever mentioned that Shinx to me, big brother," Bonnie said.
Not too far, a young man was listening in on Clemont's story and he smiled.
"So, the town has an ample supply of electrical energy," the young man said. He took out his smartphone and he dialed a number. He listened to the ringing on the other side and waited until there was an answer.
"This better be good," a man's voice said.
"I have found something that may be to your liking, sir," the young man said.
"You better not be wrong, because I am not in a mood to wait," the man on the other end said.
"Hear me out. I'm at a school where the town has so more electricity than what you will find in a Mareep's wool. And if I give that to you, then do I get out of my debt?" The young man asked.
"That depends on how you are. But, if you do pull it off, I'll might forget about the debt of you owe me," the man on the other end said. "And one more thing."
"Yeah?" The young man asked.
"This is your last chance," the man on the other end said, hanging up. He gave a loud gulp and he puts his smartphone in his pocket.
He made it to the sewers underneath. He was carrying a device on his back, and he is carrying a pair of pliers in his hand. He heard the sound of footsteps, so he hid in a can, dropping the pliers. It was Luxio walking the sewers and stopped when he heard the sound of metal dropping. Luxio looked around and sees nothing. Luxio presses on. The young man comes out of his hiding place and sighed a relief sigh, and picked up the pliers.
"That was close," the young man said. He gets to a generator and he smiled. "Perfect! This is the spot! Now, time to get to work." He starts fiddling with the generator. He hooks up the machine to the generator.
Meanwhile in the control central room, Ms. Eclairisse and the group enters inside. One of the engineers looked at the opening doors.
"Please exclaimed us," Clemont said. "This is the system control room I designed myself."
"Clemont, what a nice surprise!" The leading engineer said.
"I'm sorry to barge in, but I was wondering, may I show all my friends around?" Clemont asked.
"Of course. It's no problem at all," the leading engineer said. The alarms started to sound. The room turned red. "Status report!"
"There's a problem with the transmission cables!" One of the engineers reported.
"Where is it?" The leading engineer asked.
"Near the transformer!" The second engineer answered.
"Transformer? That doesn't sound good," the leading engineer said.
"Just what are you referring to?" Clemont asked.
"Well, uh, the thing is, a wild Pokémon has been making its home there..." the leading engineer said.
"Wild Pokémon?" Clemont asked.
"Yes," the leading staff member said. "When we approach, it attacks. So, we're kind of at a loss."
"It's okay, I'll go have a look," another engineer said.
"Please, let me coke with you," Clemont said.
"I think we should all go, too," Sora said.
"Since you're the designer, we value your opinions," the leading engineer said. "Give us some feedback." Clemont turned to Bonnie.
"I want you to wait here for me, Bonnie," Clemont said.
"Same with you, Ven," Sora said.
"Sure," Ventus said.
"Pika," Sparky said.
"Will you keep an eye on them please?" Clemont asked.
"You can count on me," Ms. Eclairisse said.
The group went with the engineer to find the source of the problem.
"It's at the end of that passageway!" The engineer said.
Over to the young man, he was doing his best to get the electricity into his machine.
"Okay, this is a whole trickier than I thought it was gonna be," the young man said. A flash of light shines on him.
"Hey! Who's in there?" The engineer asked.
"Hey! Get back here!" Sora called out.
"You're not getting away from me!" Natsu yelled chasing after him.
"Natsu, wait!" Clemont called out.
"Forget it. Once Natsu has a lock onto something, nothing's gonna stop him," Gray said.
"Luxio," a voice said. They turned to see Luxio approach them.
"What kind of Pokémon is that?" Wendy asked.
"A Luxio," Tentomon said.
Clemont looked right at Luxio, wondering if it was the Shinx he met before evolving, or it was a completely different Luxio. The spark Pokémon jumped and unleashed Swift at the group.
"Eevee! Swift!" Riku ordered. Eevee jumped and unleashed his own Swift to block Luxio's Swift.
"Hey, we're not your enemies! Stop! You're looking for the real bad guy! He went that way!" The engineer said, pointing in the direction he ran. Luxio leapt pass the group. Clemont got a good look at Luxio and he realized who it was.
"It's you," Clemont said. Luxio looked at Clemont, but gave him the cold shoulder. "Luxio!"
Up above, Natsu continued to chase after the young man.
"Come on, leave me alone!" The young man exclaimed.
"No way! I'm not letting you get away! So, you might as well stop!" Natsu yelled. He jumped in the air. "Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" The young man leapt out of the way before Natsu could land a hit.
"Hey, are you crazy?!" The young man exclaimed.
"Just make it easy for yourself and take your beating like a man!" Natsu yelled. "Fire Dragon Talon!" Natsu gave the young man a kick. He got right up and he growled.
"Okay, that's it! You've asked for it, pink-head!" The young man said, taking out an Ultra Ball. "Machamp! Go!" His Ultra Ball opened and his Machamp came out, flexing its muscles. "Use High Horsepower!" Machamp charged right at Natsu, sending him flying in the air. "Use Hyper Beam!" Machamp fired Hyper Beam, landing a hit onto Natsu, sending him even further. Luxio is on the ground and sees Natsu flying over him, screaming. The young man called Machamp back inside. "Now, to get back to work."
Back to the control center, they told Bonnie and Ms. Eclairisse about what happened, and about how Natsu went after him. The engineers had made contact with Officer Jenny about the situation.
"It was just one individual?" Ms. Eclairisse asked.
"Yes. And he has some sort of device," Clemont said.
"What would he be doing with all that electricity?" Naminé asked.
"I don't know, but I have a feeling it's not good," Clemont said.
If only Natsu didn't run off like that," Karen said.
"Thinking was never his thing," Charla said.
"The only things that hothead thinks about are either fighting or food. We know this from experience," Lucy said.
"I just hope Natsu doesn't go overboard when he catches that guy," Renamon said.
Just then, the room goes dark.
"I'm gonna guess Natsu didn't get him," Gomamon said.
"Or maybe he did, and he went overboard," Terriermon said, making Lopmon nod with agreement.
Outside, Luxio is witnessing the blackouts and saw the sparks coming from the tower. Luxio rushed towards the tower.
Outside, the group steps outside and witnessed what was going on.
"What is going on out there?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Ang said.
"I think I have a good idea what's going on! Look!" Clemont said.
"You think that's where that guy is hiding out?" Ventus asked.
"It seems like it," Aqua said.
"Let's go," Clemont said.
The group rushed off to stop the perpetrator. Speaking of which, the young man has managed to get some of the electrical energy into the machine.
"Almost done," the young man said. Just then, Luxio rushed at him with Thunder Fang. He ducked out of the way. "Ooh, you! It's high-time someone taught you a lesson!" He took out an Ultra Ball and opened it. His Machamp came right out. "Machamp! Use Karate Chop!" Machamp came at Luxio and lands a chop onto Luxio.
"There you are!" Sora called out.
"Found you at last!" Agumon said.
"Just who do you think you are?" Guilmon asked.
"What business is that of yours?" The young man asked.
Luxio gets back up and snarls at him.
"Luxio, Lux, Lux, Luxio, Lux, Lux, Lux," Luxio said.
"Meowth, what's he saying?" Kairi asked.
"Luxio's saying that he isn't going to let that guy steal the electricity that made the town a better place. A town where Electric Type Pokémon can live happily," Meowth translated. Clemont looked at Luxio and saw how much of an impact he made on him.
"Machamp! Use Karate Chop!" The young man ordered. Machamp charged right at Luxio with Karate Chop.
"Luxio!" Clemont yelled. He got in front of Luxio and took the hit. Everyone was shocked, especially Bonnie.
"Clemont!" Bonnie cried out for her brother.
Luxio looked right at Clemont and saw how hurt he was.
"Thank goodness you're safe," Clemont saisaid. Luxio looked right into Clemont's eyes and remembered all the times they had together. Sora stepped up.
"You are so gonna regret that," Sora said.
"Machamp! Use Hyper Beam!" The young man ordered. Just when Machamp was gonna fire Hyper Beam, Hackmon and Herrismon arrived and attacked.
Hackmon, "Pepper Breath!" Hackmon spews a fireball from his mouth at the superpower Pokémon.
Herrismon, "Lightning Quills!" Herrismon fired electrified quills at Machamp as well.
Hyper Beam is blocked by the two Digimon's attacks.
"Friends of yours?" Lucy asked.
"I don't think we ever met them," Gabumon said. Clemont stood up.
"Luxio, how about we battle together?" Clemont suggested. Luxio nodded. "Okay, Luxio! Discharge!" Luxio unleashed Discharge, shocking the young man and Machamp. The machine is also struck, resulting in an explosion. In the cover of smoke, Hackmon and Herrismon made their escape. The smoke cleared to see the young man and Machamp down on the ground.
"That takes care of him," Palmon said. Suddenly, Natsu lands on the ground.
"I'm not done with you, punk!" Natsu roared.
"The fight's over, Natsu!" Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"You're a tad late for the party," Karen added.
"Pika," Blossom said.
"It was careless of you to run off after him, Natsu!" Erza scolded, giving him a punch in the face. Natsu goes down with steam coming from the bump on his head.
"Luxio," Clemont could only say.
"Luxio, Luxio, Lux, Lux, Luxio, xio, xio, Luxio, xio, Lux, Lixio, xio," Luxio said.
"Luxio said, 'You have a lot of nerve showing your face around here after the way you broke your promise to me'," Meowth translated. Clemont sighed.
"Luxio, I want you to know I'm sorry I never came here on the day of my graduation. I was going to meet up with you, I swear. It's just, the mayor came and drove me to the dinner. I saw you were already gone after I came back. That's when I knew I let you down," Clemont said. Luxio looked right at him. "I owed it all to you, Luxio. I had a cake to celebrate together, but something unexpected happened. I wanted you to come with me, and I still do. If you decide to come with me, then I'll be waiting for you right here. At the same place at the same time."
Luxio said nothing and took off for the sewer. It didn't take long until the lights came on, and the young man was arrested for his energy theft. He was taken to the police station and he revealed that he was only doing it just to get out of his debt. And that's when a man wearing a suit is dragged in, revealing to be his boss. Both were charged with the same crime.
As for Hackmon and Herrismon, the group wondered where those other Digimon came from. Sora wondered if it was the two individuals that Lucario has detected from before. He knew it wasn't a coincidence. He did wonder if those Digimon were friends of the mysterious hooded figure who helped in the fight with Kefka and Muggshot.
On the very next morning, everyone waited for Luxio to show up. Just after the incident, Clemont explained the rest of the story to the rest of the group. They understood why Luxio was upset. Clemont wasn't sure if Luxio has forgiven him or not, but either way, he had to respect Luxio's choice.
"I don't see Luxio anywhere," Aqua said.
"You think he's still mad?" Bonnie asked.
"I'm sure Luxio will come. We just have to have faith," Ventus said.
"No, Luxio isn't coming after all," Clemont said. "We should be getting back on the road. If we wait any longer, it wouldn't be fair to the rest of you."
"Clemont, are you sure?" Lucy asked.
"I'm sure, Lucy. He hasn't fully forgiven me, and that's what I deserve," Clemont said. "Let's go." Just when he took one step forward, the group hears the rustling in the shrubs. They turned to see Luxio stepping out of the bushes. Clemont's eyes water up with tears. "Luxio, does that mean you've forgiven me?" Luxio nodded. Clemont took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Here goes!" Luxio flows inside. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "Welcome to the team, Luxio."
Two old friends reunite, and Luxio has become the newest member of the team. But the quest to make some more friends continues onwards.
