Episode 572: A Showcase Debut

To answer everyone's questions, I do plan in having Pokémon from generation IX appear in this fic, but only soon after some additional information comes right out. Also, I would like to add, I hope we get some new Pokémon Types coming in, and also some new evolved forms of Eevee and maybe more new Pokémon than we have been getting in generations VI, VII, and VIII. Also, I might or might not work on this as much as I like, so please don't hold it against me. So, sorry if this has taken such a long time to work on it. Anyway, here is more to the chapter continued from we last left off.

Everyone gathered around and took their seats on their chairs. The green creature from before floats inside the stadium and babbled, curious what the show was about. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Calem, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Bonnie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Dedenne, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Digimon, SEES, and Team Natsu have taken their seats

"This is so exciting," Guilmon said.

"Tell me about it," Gabumon said.

"Bonjour, people of Kalos, dedicated fans of Pokémon! The Rookie Class Pokémon Festival Showcase, the celebration of beginnings, is about to begin with grace and elegance!" Monsiuer Pierre came in, twirling his cane. He bowed to the audience. "I will be your guide through this dream world. Monsieur Pierre!" The crowd cheered. "I invite all of you at home, as well as here in the audience to be part of a beauty, unsurpassed anywhere else!"

Upwards, Palermo sits in her booth.

"No, there will never be another Kalos Queen like Aria," Palermo said.

"Our gifted performers and their Pokémon are sure to fill each and every one of your hearts with magnificence, awe, and delight!" Monsiuer Pierre announced.

Over to Serena, she is preparing for the Showcase.

Meanwhile in an alternate New York, we come to a building with a sign of a ghost in a red no sign.

Inside, sitting at a reception desk is a woman with red hair, wearing humongous glasses. The phone rings and she answers it.

"Ghostbusters central! If it says 'boo', we know what to do," the receptionist said. She listened. "Calm down, ma'am. We'll take care of it." She hits the alarm.

Up stairs, there are four men, sliding down the fire pole. They wore jumpsuits with the logo on the shoulder.

One has brown hair, and he wore brown uniform with teal trim. Another man has red hair and he wore a tan uniform with slightly darker tan trim.

The third man has blonde wore red glasses. He also wore a blue uniform with pink trim.

The fourth man is an African-American wearing a cyan uniform with red trim. They entered a white car with the same logo and drove right out with a siren going off.

"So, Egon, what do you think? It's gotta be the same ones we've come across," the man wearing the tan suit said. The man with the glasses takes out a device and he adjusts it.

"It's curious though. Lately, I have been picking up loads of unusual energy readings throughout the city," Egon said.

"Okay, Egon, I'll bite. Just what are we dealing with?" The man wearing the brown suit asked.

"I'm a hundred percent sure, but here is what I do know so far. One: disappearances have occurred all over the city. Two: strange sightings have been reported. Three: strange dimensional rifts have been opening at random," Egon said.

"I'm sorry I asked," the man wearing the brown suit said.

"Come on, Peter. You were the one who wanted some excitement," the African-American man said.

"Winston's right, Peter. You said it was getting dull," the man wearing the tan suit said.

"Ray, even though I said it, I never actually say it," Peter said.

The vehicle drives up to the source of the disturbance that a bunch of Shadow Heartless are seen. They stepped out and took out what looks like guns.

"They have got to be either Class 5 or lower," Ray said. Egon held his device.

"Strange. These readings aren't anything I have ever seen," Egon said.

"Egon, how about we start blasting. On the count of 3, start on 2!" Peter said. They activate their weapons, making some kind of sound. "1, 2,." They fired at the Heartless. They get struck by the blast.

"Get the trap ready!" Ray said. Winston took out what looks like a small box with a black and yellow stripe door. Winston steps on the button connected to the trap, but something goes wrong. They do not go in. "That can't be right!"

"It's impossible! It shouldn't have failed, unless-" Egon said.

"Unless what?" Peter asked.

"They're not ghosts!" Egon said.

They stopped firing, but the Heartless disappears.

"Where did they go?" Winston asked.

"I'm not sure. But I suggest we return to the firehouse. I'll look into Tobin's Spirit Guide, and see if I can find a clue there," Egon said.

With that said, the Ghostbusters returned to their vehicle and drove off, unaware of another dimensional rift opening up. Out came some Kremlings, gathering up some materials. They went back through once they've gotten what they need.

Back in Courmarine City, a Klefki flies back to Monsiuer Pierre. This Kelfki has a gold key with a green jewel in it.

"Merci, Klefki," Monsiuer Pierre said, taking the key. "And the winner of the Rookie Class will receive the coveted Princess Key."

Just then, a receptionist enters the room.

"Mandy, Shauna, Alouette, you're all coming up next," the receptionist said.

"Thanks," Shauna, Mandy, and Alouette said at said.

"Off I go. Wish me luck," Shauna said.

"Sure. Good luck, Shauna," Serena said. She and Bulbasaur enters the stage.

"That's our cue, Gourgeist," Mandy said. Gourgeist nods and enters the stage with Shauna and Alouette.

Right on stage, Monsiuer Pierre introduces the first performers.

"When the Pokémon performer wins three Princess Keys..." Monsiuer Pierre swings his cane. "...she gets the opportunity to compete in the Master Class!"

"So cool!" Bonnie beamed.

"And the winner of the prestigious Master Class will be crowned Kalos Queen in all of her glory and majesty!"

"Kalos Queen," the Digimon all said with awe.

"So, sit back and get ready as I take you by the hand and lead you to our Pokémon Showcase performances!" Monsiuer Pierre announced. "And now I present the Theme Performance for the first stage. And this exciting theme is..." images of styling appear on stage. Magnifique! It's Pokémon Styling! Now, here are our first three performers."

Shauna, Mandy, and Alouette arrive on stage.

"There's Shauna!" Ventus said.

"Shh," Terra shushed.

"Using our Pokémon Styling theme performers will see who can best style their Pokémon at the height of fashion and all ten minutes. However, only one of our three performers will advance to the next stage.

"So, it's a fashion show," Wendy said.

"Then there's nothing to worry about with Serena," Calem said.

"Alright, Pokémon Performers, are you all ready?" Monsiuer Pierre asked. "It's time to Style away , s'il vous plait!" An image of an hourglass is displayed and flipped upside down, and starts the countdown. The performers got to work to make their Pokémon style. "Pokémon styling, a performer's sense of style combined with the chemistry between the performer and their Pokémon is put to the test. You are witnessing a veritable performance fantasique! These performances extraordinaire as our competitors work with their Pokémon are truly works of art in themselves. There's only a few minutes left. It's time fir the secret finishing touches. In the blink of an eye, you will witness their work unveiled and out on our runway." Serena and Fennekin are watching from the other room, and Serena is feeling nervous. The clock runs out and disappears. "Time's up! And now, let's view their artistry! I call on Alouette and her Pokémon, Furfrou to please proceed out here to the runway."

Alouette steps out and her Furfrou is styled in blue trimmings, looking like a Pharoah.

"Nice," Meowth said.

"Next up is performer Shauna and her Pokémon, Bulbasaur!" Monsiuer Pierre announced as she and Bulbasaur steps out on stage. Bulbasaur had a bouquet of flowers on her bulb.

"Wow!" Bonnie cooed.

"She made Bulbasaur a walking bouquet," Kotone said.

"She sure did. So very pretty and cute," Kairi said.

"Finally, we have performer Mandy and her Pokémon, Gourgeist!" Monsiuer Pierre said as Mandy and her Gourgeist stepped out. Gourgeist is tall and sinsiter-looking.

"Beauty and the Beast, all in one! Take it all in!" Mandy said.

"Now, ladies and gentlemen, you will be the judge!" Monsiuer Pierre announced.

"Judge? How?"

"Please grab your glow sticks," Monsiuer Pierre instructed.

Sora, Kairi, Karen, Calem, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Bonnie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Dedenne, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Digimon, SEES, and Team Natsu all grabbed their glow sticks.

"Does this answer your question, Natsu?" Minato asked, holding up his glow stick.

"It does," Natsu said, holding up his glow stick.

"When I give the signal, please light up your glow stick in the color that corresponds with the performer who you have judged to be the creme de la creme."

"Mmm, cream de la cream," the green ghost said, licking his lips.

Everyone all chose Shauna's color

"Un, deux, trois!" Monsiuer Pierre counted. Violet and yellow lights shine down on Shauna and Alouette, outraging Mandy. "The performer who will be advancing to the next stage is..." he walked up to Shauna since she got more votes more and Mandy got the least. He raised her hand. "Shauna and her fabulous Bulbasaur!"

"Bulbasaur, we did it!" Shauna cheered.

"Shauna did it," Serena said, feeling happy for her rival/best friend.

"Shauna was amazing," Gray said.

"She sure was," Karen agreed. "The more reason to vote for her."

Other performances came and went as votes all came and went. Serena was incredibly nervous about her performance coming up. Shauna quickly noticed it.

"You'll be great. Don't worry, Serena," Shauna said. Serena turned to her.

"Yeah? Thanks a lot," Serena said with a smile. The receptionist entered the room.

"Blanche, Clarissa, Serena," the receptionist said. They looked at her. "Time to get ready. You're up next."

"Right," Serena said. She stood up and walked out with the other two girls.

Back with the audience, everyone is anxiously waiting for Serena to show up.

"Serena should be up next," Ventus said.

"This is the last trio of performers to go on," Aqua said.

"I wonder how she'll do," Ken said.

"We should wait and see," Calem said.

"And now, we move on to our last trio," Monsiuer Pierre said as the final three entered the stage.

"There she is," Calem said.

"Yeah, you can do it, Serena!" Bonnie cheered.

"I'm getting nervous and I'm way up here," Tentomon said.

Serena was feeling very nervous, but Fennekin looked up to her. Serena looked back at Fennekin.

"Right. I'm not alone. I got Fennekin with me," Serena said in her thoughts. She spoke out loud. "Now. Let's take our first step towards our dream."

"Alright, it's time to style away, s'il vous plait!" Monsiuer Pierre announced, snapping his fingers. The clock for ten minutes starts running.

"Hm. That and that. Okay!" Serena said, making up her mind. Serena chooses a pink ribbon for Fennekin. "Sora didn't give up, Kairi didn't give up, and I won't give up. Time to use everything I have learned."

Time was running out.

"Time for the secret finishing touches," Monsiuer Pierre announced. By that time, Serena was finished.

"There, you're all set, Fennekin," Serena said. The clock has run out.

"Time's up! And first up..." Monsiuer Pierre announced, "Blanche and her Pokémon, Meowstic!" Blanche and Meowstic came out as they walked on the runway. "Next up, Clarissa and Fletchling!" Clarissa and Fletchling entered the stage. "Last but not least, Serena and Fennekin!" Serena and Fennekin enters the stage.

"Fennekin, this is the most fun I have ever had!" Serena said. Fennekin smiled, but she slipped on her ribbon. "Fennekin!" She ran up to her partner. Sora, Kairi, Karen, Calem, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Bonnie, Pikachu, Angel, Meowth, Dedenne, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, the Digimon, SEES, and Team Natsu were shocked to see the mishap happen. Shauna was shocked to witness it. No one was more shocked than Calem. Palermo was sitting in her booth, and she eyes Serena and Fennekin. Serena didn't recieve much votes.

"And that's all for our styling performances," Monsiuer Pierre announced. "Our Freestyle Performance is after the break."

Fennekin looked up at Serena with utter sadness.

"I'm sorry, Fennekin," Serena said.

"Serena," Shauna said with a sad tone.

"I guess I overdid it," Serena said. "I should have considered Fennekin walking next to me."

"You did a great job showing off Fennekin though, really," Shauna said. Serena stood up, and she felt better.

"Thank you, Shauna," Serena said. "I'm going to get changed." She stopped and looked at Shauna. "I'm going to be cheering for you in the next round."

"Thanks," Shauna said.

Meanwhile over to Lumiose City, Clemont starts to have some tests on his new Voltorb.

"You're really something, Voltorb. Sora and the others would be surprised to see you," Clemont said.

"Torb," the Hisuian Voltorb said.

"Okay, let's get to work on the tests," Clemont said.

Back in Courmarine City, the remaining performers gave it their all, right up to when it was Shauna's turn.

"Next up, it's performer Shauna!" Monsiuer Pierre announced as Shauna, Bulbasaur, and Flabébé appeared on stage.

"There she is!" Karen said.

"Pika, Pika," Blossom said.

Serena is standing and watching Shauna's performance.

"Ready, Bulbasaur? Ready Flabébé?" Shauna asked.

"Saur!" Bulbasaur said.

"Bébé!" Flabébé said.

"Flabébé, use Fairy Wind! And Bulbasaur! Use Petal Dance!" Shauna ordered.

Flabébé sprinkled the whole stage with Fiary Wind as Bulbasaur unleashed Petal Dance as Shauna took out a gymnastics ribbon and twirls it around.

"Oh, wow! She looks like a fairy!" Bonnie said.

"Bulbasaur! Use Solar Beam!" Shauna ordered. Bulbasaur fired Solar Beam, breaking the combo moves apart. Bublabasur uses her vines to form a heart as Flabébé is right on her bulb. Shauna takes a bow as everyone cheered.

After Shauna's performance has concluded, the remaining finalists stood on stage with their Pokémon.

"And now, for our final tally. Which performer has gathered the most votes from you, the audience?" Monsiuer Pierre asked. The spotlight shines around and it stops right on Shauna. "It's performer, Shauna! The Princess Key is yours!" Everyone all cheered.

"She won," Agumon said.

"It's too bad Serena didn't though," Veemon said.

"Shauna's one step ahead of me now," Serena said.

Up in Palermo's booth, Palermo stood up and puts her shades on.

"There, I watched all of it," Palermo said, walking out.

"That's it for the Rookie Class Pokémon Festival Showcase the Clebration of Beginnings!" Monsiuer Pierre announced. "Au revoir!"

The Showcase concludes as everyone takes their leave of the stadium. Calem stood outside and he waits for Serena to come. She sees Calem on the steps.

"Hello," Serena said.

"Hi. Wanna talk?" Calem asked.

"Okay," Serena said. She walked with Calem to find a private place to talk as Sora and Kairi went back to the Pokémon Center to change clothes, hoping the green slime has been washed off.

"You were amazing out there," Calem said.

"Don't humor me out there, Calem. I stunk out there," Serena said.

"I thought you were. And nothing's gonna make me change my mind," Calem said.

"It's sweet of you, Calem. Really it is," Serena said.

"Look, things don't always go as planned," Calem said. Serena looked at him. "Just so you know, I'll always have your back, and I mean it. You may have lost, but that just means you have a chance to get back up."

"Yeah, you're probably right," Serena said.

"Anyway, I was wondering, maybe if you want to, would you like to join me in my journey?" Calem asked. Serena blushed.

"I would love to. Right now, I need some time alone," Serena said.

"I'll give you some space, Serena," Calem said. He had to make sure she was completely out of sight before he could kick himself. "Stupid! I rubbed salt on her wounds!"
