Sorry for the lack of uploads with COVID going on and everything I had a hard time writing stories like this one please bare with me here is the chapter requested by ryo tadagachi I hope you don't mind that I made some changes to it but still enjoy.
One night at the Nowhere community theatre, we see an entire audience of people watching a play about a woman who falls in love with a monster who is secretly royalty. Among the audience ,where the Bagge family especially Courage who come to support Gina who was in the play. As the play comes to its conclusion ,the entire cast of the said play including Gina who where all dressed in fancy clothing took one final bow as the curtain closes. Everyone in the audience start to applause with delight and excitement ,all while we see the Bagge family do the same except for Eustace who we see was asleep.
Gina exiting the stage was greeted with applause from her family ,showering her with praise for her amazing acting. The charmed mother simply stated "thank you thank you ,but my role as the Queen's nurse wasn't that important of a role I assure you" which the family beg to differ as Katy says "mom you were amazing out there ,I heard a guy in the audience crying over your acting." Muriel stepping in says "oh you where more than amazing dear ,you were certainly as spectacular as Dolores Dolores" followed by Gavin who abruptly lifts her off the ground says "you should know how happy I am to be married to a wonderful actress" making Gina blush. Suddenly, a voice from out of nowhere interrupts the family's moment together to say "I couldn't agree more " the family quickly take notice of a strange looking man in a green suit walking toward the family with a look of amazement on his face ,unfortunately it was also a face Courage immediately recognized much to his horror.
"I must say my dear your performance truly screams out potential star, which I definitely see in you" the man says, despite Courage's attempts at a warning which was ignored. The strange man introduces himself afterwards saying "oh forgive me where are my manners ,I am famed movie director Benton Tarantella known for my works in the horror genre." Gina gets fascinated by what he had said ,for she had never been in the presence of any sort of director in her entire life. "Well Mr. Tarantella what do we owe the pleasure of meeting a famed director like you with?" Asks Gavin ,being as polite as possible which Benton explains "well you see, I've been exploring Broadway plays, dinner theaters, and even community plays all over the world searching for new talent sadly with little success.
Tarantella looking at Gina reveals to have a very grotesque face similar to a zombie however no one but Courage seem to notice, as Tarantella says "that is until I saw your performance my dear, I knew I found my star" Gina lights up with excitement when she heard what he called her. Taking Gina by her hand afterwards Benton would ask her "would you do me the honor of being the star of my upcoming cinematic masterpiece The Ghost of Office Nine!?" Gina grows ecstatic by the question, she would hope someone famous would ask .However before she could answer ,Katy would interfere being skeptical of what this shady director is offering her mother. "Hold up a sec pal" Katy says "you just happen to be where our mom was performing ,and out of the entire cast you randomly pick her out of the rest?" Tarantella simply responds saying "dear child understand casting is a very important job that requires leaving to different places around the globe ,I'm merely experimenting we'll call it ."
"And it's very rude of you to interrupt like that young lady" Gina crossly says to her daughter, turning back to Tarantella and apologizing for Katy's action. Tarantella simply replies with "it's certainly no problem my dear, I know how hard it is working with unruly teenagers in the movie business" Katy takes offense to what was said about her, yet she says nothing. When Benton asks her his question again Gina joyfully exclaims "I would be honored to star in your latest blockbuster" hearing this ,Benton takes out a notebook from his suit pocket and write something on a fresh page before handing it to her, explaining "excellent I can't wait for us to get started ,meet me at this address first thing tomorrow morning , I'll have everything ready by the time you arrive." After leaving Gina excitedly jumps around and cheers for joy over the fact that soon her dream would be coming true ,before hugging her family thanking them for the continued support. Courage however still had concerns over what will be awaiting Gina ,starting tomorrow.
After leaving home with a kiss goodbye from Gavin as well as goodbye hugs from the kids just as Gina was about to leave, Madeline stops her in her tracks to suggest "mommy mommy! Don't you want to take Courage with you for good luck?" Just as Gina was about to kindly deny her suggestion, Muriel suddenly chimes in with "oh Maddie what a good idea ,I'm sure Gina won't be lonely if Courage comes with her" despite his constant babbling. Gina decides to admit defeat as she takes Courage from Madeline's hands ,then she and the dog make their way to Eustace's truck ,much to the farmer's satisfaction as he comments "oh this is great, now I wont have to put up with you or the stupid dog for the whole day it's like falling in love all over again."
Gina simply gives him a look as she says "how Gavin ever puts up with that ugly bald mug all his life I'll never know" much to Eustace's annoyance ,as he simply orders them to get in the truck as he takes them to their destination.
Once at the address Tarantella told her to meet, Gina was in shock at what the location was which actually turns out to be an large abandoned cubic industrial building. Approaching the front door, Gina checks the address given to her as confirming to herself that she is indeed in the right address. Before even entering ,Courage following from behind then tugs on her leg while babbling in an attempt to talk her out of the situation, but to no avail as Gina instead lifts Courage into her arms as they go inside.
Once inside the first person they are greeted to is Benton, who has everything set up from the cameras, to the lights to even the set much to Gina's excitement. "Ah Gina so glad you can come" says Tarantella, who appears in front of her abruptly out of nowhere. This creeps Courage out by his sudden appearance Gina would then take a look around the set with excitement, slowly realizing something. "Where is the rest of the crew? Where's even the rest of the cast?" She asks ,which Benton says "oh they'll be here soon enough dear I assure you , now shall we begin rehearsing?"
"I can't wait so what part am I playing?!" Gina excitedly asks. Benton replies explaining "oh I have just the role for you, see you will be playing the part of the lead role Marion Duvall a secretary who ends up locked in this very office one foggy night then she ends up coming face to face with a creature able to produce flashing colored lights to lure its victims towards her like an angler fish ,she goes by The Spectra!"
Gina out of curiosity asks who The Spectra was ,Benton respond by stating "The Spectra dear lady, is a spirit that resides these halls searching for a host to call her own, after losing her body in a chemical explosion from an experiment gone wrong. As for who is performing her role, I managed to snag a starlet who happens to be someone I use in almost all my movie projects: Miss Angela Sigourney." Gina was in even more fascination then ever when she heard this, she could not wait to get started.
"So what's going to be my first scene?" Asks Gina excitedly ,from which Tarantella would then approach her and say "first things first ,we must find someplace for your dog to play in. We can't have him get in the way of the production you know" taking Courage from her as the dog is now in horror when he was separated. Sadly no matter how much he struggled, Benton managed to keep a tight hold on Courage until he puts him inside an enclosed studio office, locking him inside afterwards.
"Now then my dear shall we get to work?" Asked Benton ,Gina excitedly says "oh absolutely!" Benton with a grin on his face says "Oh you'll love this in this scene ,you are now realizing your locked in after completing your work for the day ,and you try to find a way out but to no avail." Once Gina confirmed this information, she is ready. Benton starts the scene shouting "ok ACTION!" Gina getting into character ,starts to perform as a woman who just noticed she's locked in, she simply brushes it off as no big deal before she takes out her phone to call for help, at this point Benton calls out "CUT!"
Gina turns to Benton asking "how did I do?" Benton approaches her to explain "Gina was it ,I neglected to tell you that for this character, there will be no use for modern technology. I must ask that you give me your phone" Gina out of naivete simply does as she is told and surrenders her phone to Benton ,who disposes of it in a trash bin discreetly as he then says "Now then ,lets take it from the top."
While Courage attempts to break out from the enclosed office ,Gina had to undergo take after take more then twenty of thirty times ,to a point of exhaustion until satisfying the strange director. Some of the said takes range from running down a hall ,attempting to call from a land line before realizing its dead, and the most annoying of all saying the lane 'no' over and over, while the camera zooms in on her. Eventually ,as the afternoon came and Gina was given an hour break by the director. She looked exaggeratedly exhausted, bags under her eyes that where completely black like a raccoon ,constant loss of almost all her breath ,and weakened limbs. She can barely stand on her own as she lays on a chair.
"You look exhausted my dear" Benton says ,approaching her with his camera in one hand "why don't you relax for a bit ,and I will get everything ready for your big scene." As soon as Benton was far enough away from Gina's sight, he would look at his camera and says to himself "pretty soon she'll be lucky to see my biggest star ,once I give that star a glance at Gina's essence, then soon the whole world will be introduced to Angela Sigourney, or should I say my partner's former fiancé!" chuckling to himself, unknown to him that Courage overheard this from behind the office and was completely in fright. He knew he had to get out and rescue Gina, but how he wondered and how long does he have before meeting the star Benton mentions.
