On another day in Nowhere especially in the farmhouse, we see Madeline forcing Courage into playing with her, much to Eustace's delight as he comments how it's better than T.V. while laughing at Courage who was being examined by Madeline who is dressed like a doctor.
Just then, Gina walks into the living room from upstairs carrying what appeared to be a little red dress complete with a cloak, calling out to the little girl "oh Maddie, look what mommy made" Madeline squeals in joy at what she presented, as she gleefully runs to her while Courage in relief, lays on the floor in an attempt to take at least a small break from playtime.
As Maddie is being fitted into the dress, Eustace looks at this display as he blurts out "what the heck is she even wearing, a throw rug ?" Gina in annoyance glares at the farmer and replies "for your information Georg Simmel, it happens to be a red frock fit for a princess whose mommy loves her very much" Eustace simply replies "it's still a stupid dress, it doesn't mean anything giving it some fancy name like that!"
"Are you implying that your hat isn't fancy because it's just a hat?" Gina smugly replies, much to Eustace's irritation, Gina afterward approaches Courage relaxing on the rug "and for Courage, I thought he would look more sophisticated with this" she put the cloak onto Courage luckily it fits. Courage takes the time to admire his new gift.
Eustace just after one glance simply laughs at him and says "now your a stupid girly dog!" Madeline approaches the pink dog out of sympathy, while Gina turns her head away and says "you think your style is even better, I bet even people in rags could dress better than you" this angers the farmer, hating how he is being bested by his own daughter in law.
"You think I don't dress right do ya?" Asks Eustace, who then turns his back towards the three to retrieve something behind his chair, turning back around to reveal that he has once again dawned his large mask, as he faces his granddaughter and Courage while shouting "OOGA BOOGA BOOGA!" causing them both to scream and cling to Gina, while they sob in fright.
Eustace starts to laugh at his handiwork once again, frighting the smallest people of the family after unveiling his mask only for Muriel to appear out of nowhere and strike Eustace's head with a rolling pin, causing him to shout "OW! What did I do?!"
Muriel, after clocking her husband on his noggin yet again, approaches the frightened duo and takes them off Gina's legs and onto her arms to console them, at this point Gavin walks in carrying a basket in his hands and says "ok I packed everything Madeline will need peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, drinks, napkins and-" Gina stops him in his tracks stating "Gavin she's just going to run an errand, not on a vacation."
Taking the basket from Gavin, the man replies "you can't be too careful out there, especially for a little girl like Madeline" Gina gives in after hearing this and decides to give it to Madeline anyway before she explains to Madeline "alright Maddie, the family is super busy today. Your dad and I will be taking grandpa to the doctor, so I want you to pick up your Auntie Velvet from the bus station, she's coming to stay with us for the weekend do you think mommy can count on you to bring her home?" Madeline simplemindedly nodded her head.
Gina kisses Madeline on the head afterward and says "good girl mommy knew she can count on her princess." Madeline then asks her mommy if Katy would join her too which Gavin says "sorry kiddo she already made plans to take grandma out for a spa day today" much to Madeline's disappointment Muriel steps into the conversation to say "and if we end up running late I'm leaving the house keys with Courage" giving the said keys to Courage.
"Now Courage" warns Muriel "remember to keep a close eye on wee Madeline, and make sure she gets to the bus station safely" Courage obliges, Gina adds in "and no stopping for anything until after you two pick up Auntie Velvet from the bus stop " Madeline responds "yes mommy" Gina then pats her head, and replies "that's my little girl, well you better get moving" gently shoving her and Courage out the door. At that point, Madeline and Courage start to make their way to the bus station.
Meanwhile in another part of the wastelands there conveniently was a two-story house made entirely out of stone, inside a dining room area there was a mysterious figure sitting in a large red comfy chair with his back facing the readers, as we see the figure polish off his food "my oh my yes sirree them was the best three-course pork meal I ever did have" spoke the mysterious person who strangely enough had a very thick Cajun accent.
The stranger would then reach from upon the table a very large book titled Cajun Goodies for You to Make, opening the book the being begins wondering "I wonder what would make for good dessert" looking at the contents we see four different desserts with their own titles, which the figure in question reads aloud "let's see now ooh beignets haven't had those in a while. Maybe I can try making me some Praline Brownies, or maybe some sweet Mardi Gras Jello."
Then we get a glance at the fourth dish, which happened to show a little girl covered in custard and chocolate chips with a dollop of whipped cream on her head, the figure in question says "what have we here Little Girl Custard Surprise, Now that definitely sounds like a dish to sink my teeth into mmm mmm!"
Getting up from his chair afterward, we see the figure in question reveal to be a grey wolf that only wore sunglasses, who began to ask himself "But where the heck am I supposed to get me a little girl at this time of day?" Then as if by coincidence, he begins to hear singing from outside his window. To his surprise, he was indeed a little girl more specifically Madeline, along with Courage who unfortunately caught the hungry wolf's attention.
By the time Madeline passes by the stone house, the wolf conveniently opens his door to greet the two "why hello little girl" the wolf says "nice day we're having ain't it?" This gets Madeline's attention as she responds obliviously with a giggle, Courage on the other hand after one glance at the animal in question to the pink dog's horror, the wolf bared a striking resemblance to a certain fox he knew once who tried to eat his beloved Muriel, especially with the sunglasses.
"Say I bet you're hungry, why don't you and your pet come inside and join me for a nice meal, I'm making something really yummy" slyly offers the wolf. But before Madeline could consider staying for a bite, Courage stops her and starts to babble in an attempt to save her, despite his illegible warning Madeline still sided with the pink dog "I'm sorry mister I can't, I promised my mommy I would pick up my Aunt from the bus station" with that said she and Courage manage to continue to town.
The wolf unfortunately was not going to give up his meal so easily. As soon as Madeline and Courage were far enough away to where he can barely be seen or heard, the wolf immediately went back inside to conjure up a plan to get Madeline and maybe Courage into his stomach.
Madeline and Courage continue to journey to the Nowhere town bus station with Courage are keeping a very watchful eye out for any potential threat. Madeline at this point started to get thirsty due to the heat, remembering her dad packed her juice she wasted no time taking one out of her basket before she started to take a very long sip, when she finished she threw away the empty container then she took out another one in an attempt to try and satisfy her thirst.
At some point, they reach the restaurant Burgers: real cheap and Madeline had just finished another box of juice throwing it into the garbage bin, before the tries to get another sadly there was no more when she looked inside much to her dismay as she whines "no more but I'm still hot, and sleepy, and thirsty" Courage was also exhausted at that point but he knew they had to keep moving.
Maddie sadly being a little girl lifts Courage from the ground and says "let's sit down Courage, I don't want to walk anymore" Courage in concern franticly starts to babble more the only words he can sadly get through his mouth were "but! But!" Madeline sadly didn't listen, as she went into the restaurant to cool off unbeknownst to them of what was waiting inside.
Once inside they took a seat on one of the booths, Madeline lays upon the seat out of exhaustion Courage meanwhile, decides to fan her to speed up the process of getting to the bus stop and not disappointing Gina. Courage suddenly realized something when they were walking, as well as what the little girl whined about earlier asking the now relaxed Madeline "how many juice boxes did you end up drinking again?" Madeline simply says "what?"
It wouldn't be long before Madeline's lower half starts to act up, telling Madeline that she desperately needed to drain out her bladder. Madeline frantically jumps out of her seat asking for a bathroom with Courage worriedly going after her to make sure she doesn't humiliate herself, or the public. Once they manage to find the bathroom, Madeline quickly uses it while Courage waits for her outside.
Once Madeline was finished and washed her hands, she walks out to reunite with Courage only for the two of them to suddenly encounter what appears to be a strange-looking waiter, Madeline could not tell what animal it's supposed to be mostly because the animal in question was wearing Groucho glasses over his face, and a bowler hat atop his head to cover his ears.
Courage was frightened out of his mind for he knew exactly who the person was, the person Courage dubs the Cajun Wolf since he shared similarities to a certain fox who would then say to the two before him "now hey there you don't plan on leaving here without buying something are you?" Madeline simply replies "I need to be at the bus stop and pick up Auntie Velvet."
"Oh, won't you stay for a bite?" Asks the disguised wolf, to which Madeline replies that she has a basket of food, at this point the wolf lets out a sinister grin and says "oh not exactly what I meant!" Opening his mouth to devour Madeline on the spot, only for Courage takes out from nowhere a carjack and jams it into the Cajun Wolf's mouth before making a quick escape dragging Madeline with him.
After escaping, the Cajun Wolf attempts to follow them in any way, shape, or form sadly with Courage by Madeline's side, the wolf could not in any way get near her without Courage getting in his way.
"There has to be a way to get me some lunch without that mangy pooch getting in the way," says the Cajun Wolf, until he hatches a plan "didn't that little girl say to me she was going to pick up someone from the bus stop?" He asks himself, while conveniently taking out a map from nowhere to search for something, before immediately putting it away and making his way toward a path labeled on a cartoony wood arrow sign that reads Shortcut to Bus Station.
Once at the bus station, the Cajun Wolf quickly stands at the station with a crudely painted sign that reads Auntie Velvet after about a minute or so, he is approached by a woman with strawberry blonde wavy hair under a very large black sunhat, she had porcelain skin with legs shown to be as thin as pencils, we can barely see tiny high heels on her feet, her figure is covered by a giant purple coat with pink fuzzy lace, as well as overly large sunglasses even larger than the Cajun Wolf's
"Why hello there," says the Cajun Wolf, striking up a conversation with the woman before him "you must be Auntie Velvet, it's certainly nice to meet you your family sent me to pick you up from the station" which the woman in question says in response "that is correct darling, how nice of you to be here" speaking in a Hungarian accent, asking the Wolf if he knows the Bagge's personally.
"I can certainly say I had a relative who knew their oldest family member" which Auntie Velvet says "my goodness a family friend, I most certainly look forward to seeing my dear sister Gina and her darling family, it has felt like so long." The Cajun Wolf stops her in her tracks before she can even set foot off the station, and says "now hold on a minute dear, surely you don't expect to meet up with the Bagge family dressed like this, do you? I'm sure they would much rather see you in something more chic slimmer.
Auntie Velvet in surprise replies "why darling, you are absolutely right what was I thinking, bringing last months coat how embarrassing" The Cajun Wolf would then suggest "if I'm right, I think I saw a boutique next door why don't you leave your coat and hat with me, while you go shopping for some hip threads " Auntie Velvet obliges, thanking the Wolf for his kindness as she hands him her coat and hat, which also reveals to be attached to her hair revealing to be a wig. Auntie Velvet now sporting a brown bob cut leaves stating how she'll return in about an hour or two.
The Cajun Wolf waves toward her, as he says "take all the time you need" luckily for the wolf since the hat came complete with a wig, it gave him a wicked idea.
When Courage and Madeline arrived at the station, they wasted no time in looking for Auntie Velvet, it did not take long however as we see what is assumed to be her approaching them and calling out "Madeline darling, how are you? I see you brought over a pet doggie." What Courage took notice of when he first heard her, he couldn't help but put a finger on the fact Auntie Velvet sounded strangely familiar.
"How's about we make our way back home and maybe get some food in me," says Auntie Velvet lifting Madeline off the ground with one arm, staring at her with a strange look Courage identified as hunger, at that pint he figures out it wasn't Auntie Velvet, but before doing something about it, the pink dog was immediately grabbed firmly by the neck as the imposter lifts him, as she says"oh and we most certainly must reward your doggie lucky I know how to pay him back!" Her voice transitioning to a tone of bitterness.
Madeline soon starts to feel something brush on her legs, then commenting "Auntie Velvet, you really are soft and fluffy" from which the fake looks at her, and says "all the better to snuggle up with you sweetie" Madeline then starts to notice Auntie Velvets hand chocking Courage, stating obliviously "Auntie Velvet, your hands are really big" the fake responds with "all the better to pick up my little niece with."
Then as soon as Courage gets free from the grasp he begins to babble toward Madeline, only to be immediately silenced again by Velvet who casts him aside, focusing back on Madeline again. By then the little girl begins to take notice of a part of her face looking a bit off, as she says "A-Auntie Velvet, you have really sharp teeth" while now maintaining nervousness, Velvet grabs the little girl under her arms and says with a very deepened southern voice" all the better to EAT you with sugar!"
Auntie Velvet would then swiftly stuff Madeline through the set of jaws in her mouth, Courage who had regained consciousness after being tossed aside to the floor, witnessed Madeline become a snack for the Cajun Wolf who then removes his disguise, then says "boy oh boy that little girl really hit the spot" then we see in Courage's eyes that his pupils start to spin vertically in his head as if it where a casino slot machine, then the pupils immediately turn into the words AA and AH within their respective scleras, when the sound of a casino jackpot starts to go off is when Courage started screaming.
As soon as the Wolf makes his way out of the station after, removing his disguise in the process. Once on the sidewalk on his way home, the wolf comes into contact with a strangely colored little girl holding a box of cookies that read Girl Scout Cookies: Pack a Punch flavor. The Cajun Wolf lets curiosity get the best of him, but when he asks the stranger "do they really pack a punch?" The girl who is revealed to be Courage answers by slamming the whole box on his foot, revealing to have bricks in the said box, causing the animal to scream in a very cartoony fashion, giving Courage enough time to pop into the wolf's mouth and get Madeline out of the Cajun Wolf's stomach, escaping as quick as he can afterward.
Pretty soon a chase began between Courage carrying Madeline over his head and the Cajun Wolf. The chase continues at the point where it continues at a nearby fancy dress shop where they pass by a familiar face taking notice of this happening. It wasn't long until Courage and Madeline being cornered by the Cajun Wolf, who was now fed up with being denied his meal as he prepares to eat them with fork and knife at the ready on each hand, much to their fright.
Suddenly behind the wolf, appeared policemen bigger than him. The Cajun Wolf was immediately caught on the spot as the head officer says "freeze you! Step away from the unsupervised child!" The Cajun Wolf in shock would then ask "what seems to be the problem officer?" At that moment, he was immediately arrested soon after, as the officer says to him "you are busted that's what, you're under arrest for stalking a minor and attempted cannibalism"
"And let's not forget to mention stealing my coat!" Adds Aunt Velvet who is standing beside the officer. As the Wolf is being dragged away the creature would attempt to convince the officers to change their minds, asking "surely we can work something out, I know this friend who can whip us up some chicken and granny stew" suddenly realizing what he said, he tries to rephrase his wording only to be met with a clock on the head from an officer's nightstick.
As soon as the Cajun Wolf was taken away Velvet approaches Madeline with a smile on her face, and says "and this must be Madeline, oh look at how big you are!" lifting her off of the ground and kissing her cheek, as Madeline hugs her back excitedly while Courage looks on in awe.
After setting Madeline back down, Auntie Velvet says "now how about we all have lunch on our way back home darling" Madeline would sadly present the basket once filled with goods now cleaned out "but the big bad wolf ate all the food when he ate me" whined little Madeline. "Oh do not fret dear Madeline, I think we can dine somewhere in town before going home."
Grabbing Madeline by the hand while Courage gets picked up by Velvet in the other, the Aunt would say "you both must be hungry as well after a long walk" Courage, looking at the reader's comments "I'll eat anything, but I'm definitely taking Cajun off my menu."
Finally, all finished thank you all for bearing with me as I finish another chapter and for those who like it please give me a review and as for next time we'll see.
