Tasks, Meeting, and an Attack

In the thirtieth district of Rukongai's southern side, there was a long blonde haired woman sitting by the trunk of the tree taking in the shade of the tree. It was Ovelia and she was wearing a light pink robe with a yellow sash. Ovelia was depressed and just felt hopeless.

"I never expected to be in this place," Ovelia said and then she looked around, "is this really supposed to be paradise?"

Ovelia sighed and thought about what happened that led her to lose her life.

Flashback: Zeltennia Province, Ivalice

In the ruins of an old church, Ovelia had just stabbed her husband Delita with her dagger and looked at him with hatred while Delita was shocked at Ovelia's action.

"O-Ovelia?" Delita spoke still surprised.

"You would use everyone and toss them aside or even eliminate them once you're done with them," Ovelia said in anger, "Now you would kill me just like you killed Ramza!"

Delita clenched his teeth and then he took his own dagger that he kept and proceeded to stab Ovelia with his own dagger. The stab was fatal and Ovelia slowly fell on the ground. Ovelia didn't look surprised that she was just stabbed as she figured that it was going to happen regardless just as she lay on the ground dead.

Flashback End

Ovelia frowned and clenched her teeth at the memory.

"All he did was prove me right," Ovelia said bitterly and then she had a sad expression thinking about two people, "Agrias… Ramza..."

Ovelia curled herself up and had her head in her knees. After some time, she had her head up and sighed.

"This is not doing me any good," Ovelia said and stood up, "I should just walk around. Maybe I can find something to keep myself occupied… I hope."

Ovelia took a walk hoping to find something within the district when she suddenly heard some noises.

"Huh, what's going on?" Ovelia asked.

Ovelia rushed to see what was going. Not long afterwards, she saw what the source was. She was seeing three men surrounding someone and it was an old man and that surprised her to see what was happening.

"So is that the bag of food that you were hiding old man?" One of the men asked, "We'll take it out of your hands."

Ovelia was surprised at what she heard.

"What?" Ovelia said in her head, "Wait, food… surely they are not taking the food from him."

"Heh, knew you were holding out old man," The second man said with a grin, "I'm sure the boss will be pleased that you had a change of heart and were… well very generous."

"Just stop please," The old man pleaded, "why do you insist on taking it from me. I just want to have my food. You can't take this. This is my food, not yours."

The third man kicked the old man to the ground which resulted in the old man to cough and then the third man planted his foot on the fallen man's chest. Ovelia was shocked in what she was seeing.

"Stupid old man," The third man said, "you should know better not to go against us. Besides you don't really have a need to eat food anyway so quit complaining."

"Stop please!" The old man pleaded.

"Stop, what are you doing?!" Ovelia spoke.

"Huh?" The men said as they looked and saw Ovelia.

The old man saw Ovelia and was surprised to see the blonde haired woman. The three men walked over to Ovelia to intimidate her.

"Huh, who the hell are you woman?" The first man said.

"Look lady, this is not of your business," The second man said, "so do you yourself a favor and just walk away."

"No wait," The third man said as he was leering at Ovelia, "maybe we can help each other out. I think the boss would like someone like you."

"W-What are you saying?" Ovelia asked.

"Oh come now," The third man said placing his hand on Ovelia's shoulder and grinned, "You should know what I am getting at."

Ovelia didn't like what was said and the implication and stiffed up.

"Let me go," Ovelia said.

"Huh?" The third man said leering at Ovelia.

"I said let me go," Ovelia said, "Release me."

Ovelia was suddenly grabbed by the other two men as they chuckled sinisterly.

"No let me go!" Ovelia said loudly.

"Hey don't struggle girl," The first man said, "it won't be so bad. I'm sure the boss will treat you well."

"Yeah and maybe he's let us play with you after he's done," The second man said with a chuckle.

"No," Ovelia said, "I told you to let me go now!"

"Hey don't resist," The second man said, "you'll learn the hard way what happens if you piss us off."

"I said let me go!" Ovelia shouted.

A white energy lit up and a burst of Reiatsu exploded and it blasted the three men off and they ended up crashed to the sides and they were on the ground injured. The old man was shocked in what he saw and he looked at Ovelia and was surprised at what he was seeing. Ovelia panted and she saw that she was surrounded by some sort of energy.

"This is…" Ovelia said

Someone was watching Ovelia and what had occurred and the person left quietly. Meanwhile in Takame, Ramza was walking through the marketplace. Ramza looked around and then he saw a man who was struggling with a cart. Ramza rushed over and helped the man with his cart. The man thanked Ramza and was grateful while Ramza smiled making it known that he was happy to help. Ramza then met up with another man and helped organize pots that the man was selling. Afterwards, the man was grateful and gave Ramza a free pot for his help. Ramza was grateful and bowed to the man and left. Ramza returned to his small house with his small pot and there was Yashiro who was waiting for him.

"Yashiro," Ramza said.

"Ramza, what's going on with you?" Yashiro asked.

"What do you mean?" Ramza asked.

"Are you seriously playing dumb?" Yashiro replied annoyed, "It's been a week. A week and you haven't shown up recently."

"Oh I suppose that is the case," Ramza said.

Ramza walked and was about to enter his house but stopped when Yashiro placed his hand on Ramza's shoulder.

"What?" Ramza asked in an annoyed tone.

"What's with the attitude?" Yashiro asked, "You don't come around to the base anymore."

"I've been helping people here in the district," Ramza said.

"Yeah I've noticed," Yashiro said, "we've all noticed."

"So what's the problem?" Ramza asked and then he turned to Yashiro, "I'm doing my part in helping people here, isn't it better to help people at the moment?"

"The problem is that you're doing these things without our leader's say so," Yashiro pointed out.

"And why do I need permission to help people?" Ramza replied glaring at Yashiro, "Why should anyone need permission to help the people here?"

"Ramza, what the hell?" Yashiro responded upset.

Ramza sighed and moved Yashiro's hand off his shoulder.

"I'm just doing my part and help people," Ramza said, "I'm not going to stand by do nothing if I have to do the ability to help."

"No you're not getting it," Yashiro insisted, "You're just acting out on your own. Ever since that night, you have been acting on your own not coming around the base and we already have a problem with Kosei who hasn't been around for week as well. No one seems to know where he is."

"That is strange," Ramza said.

"Yeah it is just like what you're doing right now," Yashiro said.

"What I'm doing is not strange," Ramza replied, "why are you considering that strange? In fact, here's a better idea, we can work together to help the people here."

"It's pointless if the nobles in the Seireitei still rule," Yashiro said, "we can't really help people if we don't get rid of the nobles. Our leader can make it happen and all we have to do is follow him."

"Well now, you certainly haven't changed," A familiar male voice said.

Ramza and Yashiro were surprised and they both recognized the voice. They turned and much to Yashiro's dismay, Yuji was there and Satsuki was with him.

"Brother," Yashiro said.

"Surprised to see you here in this part of the district," Yuji said.

"This is between me and Ramza as members of the Toga Clan," Yashiro said, "it has nothing to do with a coward like you."

"Yashiro," Satsuki said with a sad expression.

"Satsuki," Yashiro said, "you're here as well."

"I came to visit my friend," Satsuki said as she turned to Ramza and smile.

Ramza smiled and nodded at Satsuki in turn.

"Huh, it seems that you two are close friends," Yashiro said, "anyway Ramza, the time to take on the nobles in the Seireitei is almost near. We will launch an attack against the oppressors and change will truly begin. Everything is coming together," Yashiro looked at Ramza, "I put a lot of faith in you. I'm the one that introduced you and vouched for you. I would at least like to be repaid for what I have done for you. That's all I want to say to you."

Yashiro started leave.

"Yashiro," Yuji said.

Yashiro stopped, "I'm not like you and I'm not like Yosuke. I will show you and Yosuke will pay for being part of the corruption."

Yashiro left and Yuji shook his head while Satsuki sighed.

"It seems that the plan is coming together," Ramza said.

"It would seem so," Yuji said and turned to Ramza, "question is what do you plan to do."

Ramza pondered and had a worried expression. Later on, Ramza was walking through a path and then he noticed Takeshi was doing swings with the long stick. Takeshi stopped and noticed Ramza.

"Oh it's you," Takeshi said.

"Hi Takeshi," Ramza said.

Takeshi just looked at Ramza and approached him.

"Um Takeshi?" Ramza asked.

"You seem to be very friendly with my sister," Takeshi said, "it's only been a week since you've been here and yet it did not take long for you to be close to my sister. I wonder what happened for you two to be so close."

"We just have an understanding," Ramza said, "She has been helping me out."

"Yeah I noticed," Takeshi said, "she seems happy when it comes to you. I won't say much about it, just don't hurt my sister otherwise, you're going to answer to me."

"…I understand," Ramza said.

"…Okay then," Takeshi said with a nod, "then we're good."

Takeshi went on his way and Ramza went on the other way. Meanwhile in the Toga Clan's base, Reddo was sitting in his room and was in a foul mood.

"Unbelievable," Reddo said, "Kosei is a no show and no one seems to know where he is. Is he even in the district and what the hell is with Ramza? Is he even committed to this anymore?"

The door was suddenly knocked.

"Sir, it's me Yashiro," Yashiro spoke on the other side.

"Come in," Reddo said.

The door opened and Yashiro entered the room.

"Yashiro, what's going on with Ramza?" Reddo asked.

"Um well, I'm not sure sir," Yashiro said.

"You're not sure," Reddo responded not pleased, "that's not what I want to hear Yashiro."

"I'm sorry sir," Yashiro said, "I'm not sure what to make with Ramza."

"He's your responsibility," Reddo said as he stood up, "you're the one who invited and vouched for him. You assured me that he would be very useful and this is what I am getting."

"I'm sorry Leader," Yashiro said.

Reddo sighed and shook his head.

"You better fix this Yashiro," Reddo said, "there's already enough problems with Kosei being missing for the past week and now I can't seem to count on Ramza. The time to take on the Seireitei directly with our source's aid is near. I do not want any setbacks from anyone or anything. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes sir," Yashiro said, "I will solve this."

"See that you do," Reddo said, "speaking of which, I need to go see our ally."

Reddo left and Yashiro was left standing and not sure what he was going to do. Meanwhile Ramza, Yuji, and Satsuki were in a river near the marketplace and were working on getting fishes with sticks with blades attached to them. They were succeeding in catching fishes and filling up the baskets they had. Ramza was pleased as this was something that he never experienced before. Ramza was having fun doing it. Satsuki giggled seeing Ramza being happy and being able to catch fish. Later on, they caught the fishes and when they were enough in their baskets, they took the baskets and went on their way. Not long afterwards, Ramza was on top of a hill and he drew his katana. He thought about his own training that he did back in Ivalice when he first picked up on sword training to be a knight and hoped to be a great man fitting for the traditions of the Beoulve family like his father. Ramza started to train with his sword. Meanwhile Reddo was walking through the forest and looked around. Reddo stopped and looked around.

"Damn it, where the hell is he?" Reddo spoke feeling impatient.

"There's no need to be impatient," A male voice said.

Reddo looked and someone appeared and it was short blonde haired man in a black cloak over his clothing who had a scowl.

"There you are Gustav," Reddo said, "you know, you kept me waiting."

"You really should be patient," Gustav said.

"I've been patient for a long time," Reddo said, "I'm done waiting. Don't you want the same thing?"

"Of course I do but we should not be rushing the process," Gustav said.

"We've been doing things the right way," Reddo said, "we can finally take down the nobles."

"We'll get the nobles and put an end to them," Gustav said, "you get what you want and I get what I want.

"Exactly so with that in mind, can we move forward?" Reddo asked.

There was someone who was out of sight and watched the meeting between Gustav and Reddo and it was Kosei.

"You are too easy to be used Toga," Kosei said.

The bespectacled man looked on and smiled and went on his way.

Seireitei

In the Akechi Manor, Tamayo was looking at her garden outside holding her fan and there was a servant who kneeled behind her.

"I see," Tamayo said, "it seems they will be making their move soon."

"Yes Lady Tamayo," The kneeling servant said.

"Hmm, well I suppose it has come to it," Tamayo said as she opened her fan and fanned herself, "you may go now."

"Yes my lady," The servant said.

The servant left and Tamayo fanned herself and narrowed her eyes.

"Hmph, how boorish," Tamayo said, "they're really going with that route. They really believe they can take on the Seireitei. How pathetic that they don't realize that you're nothing more than pawns," Tamayo smiled and shrugged, "Oh well… it's their problem."

Meanwhile in the First Division Barracks, Yosuke was walking through the hall. Yosuke sighed as he had a worried expression. Yosuke looked and saw someone and rushed over to the person.

"Lieutenant," Yosuke said.

The Shinigami who turned when called was the Lieutenant of the First Division, Chojiro Sasakibe.

"Oh Matsuzaki, what do you need?" Sasakibe replied.

"Do you have time sir?" Yosuke asked, "There's something that I want to talk to you about. Is the Captain-Commander available as well?"

"I am on my way to see him," Sasakibe said, "You can walk with me. I will hear you out and we'll see where we go from there."

"Thank you sir," Yosuke said with a bow.

Yosuke walked with the First Division Lieutenant and Yosuke spoke with him on what he wanted to talk about.

District 40 of West Rukongai, Takame

Ramza sheathed his katana and sighed.

"I should get going," Ramza said.

Ramza walked to go somewhere and then he suddenly felt something wrong. Ramza was shocked and barely dodged a blade attack. Ramza rolled on the ground and looked to see that it was someone who looked like a ninja that was wearing all brown holding a sword.

"What the hell is this?" Ramza asked upset, "Who are you?"

The ninja didn't say anything and went on the attack towards Ramza and the one being attacked countered by quickly unsheathed his katana and blocked the blade attack. The ninja narrowed his eyes at Ramza who went on the offensive and swung his sword at the ninja which made the ninja blocked the sword. They clashed their swords and Ramza clenched his teeth and countered every move the ninja made. The ninja quickly got behind Ramza and the blonde young man quickly countered by using his spirit energy and knocked the ninja back. Ramza followed up by rushing with speed and disarmed the sword out of the ninja's hand and placed the blade of his sword at the ninja's neck which shocked the ninja and Ramza looked at his would be assailant with a cold stare.

"Who the hell are you?" Ramza asked, "What is the meaning of this? Why have you come to attack me?"

"Damn, I was sure you would be easy to kill," The ninja said, "But it seems that you're actually hard to kill even with where you are. Maybe it would have been easier if you didn't have a sword."

"Answer my question," Ramza demanded, "Who the hell are you and why did you attack me?"

"You are part of the Toga Clan," The ninja said.

"And if I am?" Ramza responded.

"Stop if you value your life," The ninja said, "you would do well in not getting involved with that group. Otherwise, you will fall like the rest of them."

"You know something, don't you?" Ramza replied.

"You have been warned," The ninja said.

The ninja dropped something on the ground and it was a smoke screen bomb and it caught Ramza off by surprise as he was forced to cover his eyes. The smoke cleared and Ramza looked and saw the ninja was gone. Ramza looked around and wondered about that ninja.

"What is going on?" Ramza asked, "Who was that?"

Ramza was not sure what was going on and what he could make out of it.

"What the hell is going on?" Ramza asked.

Ramza sheathed his katana and looked around and was upset of being suddenly attacked. Afterwards, Ramza went on his way. Meanwhile Gustav was leaving and Reddo folded his arms and smiled and nodded.

"Everything is all coming together," Reddo said.

"It would seem so," Kosei said suddenly.

Reddo flinched and looked and saw Kosei who was standing next to him.

"Kosei," Reddo said.

"Hello Leader," Kosei greeted.

"Don't 'Hello Leader' me!" Reddo replied agitated, "You've been gone for a week. Where the hell have you been?"

"My apologies," Kosei said, "I've been taking care of things."

"And what are the things you have been taken care of?" Reddo asked.

"It's just something personal," Kosei said, "I assure you it's nothing to worry."

"The hell it is," Reddo responded irritated, "You been gone for a week. You don't tell me where the hell you are and then reappear and act so damn casual and you have the nerve to tell me that it's nothing."

"Please calm down Leader," Kosei said calmly with a smile, "I assure you it's fine. I apologize for not being around and not telling you. But I assure that I will be there. When the time comes to put the plan in motion, I will definitely be there. I promise."

Reddo sighed, "See that you do otherwise you won't have a place in my domain."

"Sure, I understand," Kosei said.

"Hmph, you better," Reddo said, "I want no setback. I've worked too hard and too long to have everything put together and I don't want anything to mess things up."

Reddo left and Kosei just stood there and he sported a smile.

"What a cocky bastard," Kosei said, "in the end you really are the same as those arrogant nobles in the Seireitei. Not surprised since you came from there."

Meanwhile somewhere in deep in the forest, Gustav was walking and then he stopped and met with someone.

"It's done," Gustav said, "the plan is in motion."

"Very good," A male voice said, "you have done perfectly."

An old man holding a cane made his appearance and faced Gustav. Meanwhile Ramza was talking to people in the district and having conversations with them and he was all smiles talking to people and the people smiled as well enjoying talking to Ramza. Satsuki was looking on and was happy seeing Ramza talking to people. Meanwhile there were members of the Toga Clan seeing Ramza and they were put off by their newest member.

"Who the hell does the new guy think he is?" One of the members said with a scowl.

"He has ignored his duty for a week and even now, he continues to goof off," Another member said.

"This blonde guy is pissing off," Another member said, "I heard Yashiro has been having trouble dealing with him."

"He keeps it up and we're going to have to do something about it," Another member said.

"We're finally going to take on the Seireitei," The first member said, "we won't let this bastard mess this up."

"Yeah," The other members said in agreement.

Seireitei

In a manor, there was a man who was sitting and relaxing and a vassal kneeled before the man.

"Things are coming together my lord," The vassal said.

"Very good," The man said with a sadistic smile, "then it's time to cause despair. They will learn, all of them."

"Very well, we will begin the plan," The vassal said.

"Good, the plan starts," The man said.
