A/N: Hello! Here's the new chapter, Reapings for District One. I'd just like to say thank you to ladyqueerfoot, your review made my day. Anyways, these chapters are going to be ~500 ish words, on the smaller side for sure. But hopefully I'll get another one up this week, so look for that. I'm going to stop talking now because this is an actual chapter and I hope that you are anxious for actual words and not the gibberish that I'm going on and on about.

District One

Satin Winder, 18, District One Female

Satin stepped up to the identification table.

"Put your finger on the pad. Name?" an official asked.

"Satin Winder."

"Age?"

"Eighteen."

A needle slid up and pierced her skin. She flinched slightly. She had never liked this part of the procedure.

The needle retracted.

"Information correct. You may proceed. Good luck, Ms. Winder."

"Thank you." Satin responded politely, and waited for Clarity to get her finger prick.

Clarity finished, and Satin walked with her to the eighteen year old girls' section.

"You nervous, Satin?" Clarity asked, worry written on her face.

"Slightly," Satin admitted, "although the Headmistress wouldn't have chosen me if she didn't think I was capable."

Their conversation was cut off by the arrival of the escort, a young-looking woman who looked as if she was in her late twenties or early thirties.

"Hello, District One!" she trilled, "I am your escort, Sylphie Button, and I am absolutely honored to be a part of this grand tradition of choosing our tributes! Now, President Snow- the new one, not the old one, has decided against showing the old video and reading the Treaty of Treason, which, in my humble opinion, is a very good idea, so we will move straight into the choosing of the tributes. Firstly, as District One has a long and glorious history in the Games, we will be only showing our mentors for this year. Ladies and gentlemen, Shimmer Gonzales and Jupiter Reyes!"

Shimmer and Jupiter waved a bit, Jupiter looking visibly annoyed.

"Lovely, lovely. Now, onto the tributes! As always, ladies first. Ruby Jewel!"

A twelve-year-old was found by the cameras, until Satin's hand shot up.

"I volunteer as tribute!"

Brilliance Graykind, 17, District One Male

Brilliance sighed. He didn't know if he would be able to stomach this escort's positivity all the way until the Games. Oh well. Once he was the Victor of the 80th Hunger Games he could do whatever he wanted. Like find that mutt bug and destroy it. And the Capitol. But right now, there wasn't anything that he could do about it, so he had to bide his time and wait. He was patient. He could wait. He would wait until a perfect opportunity came. Then he would make his move. He would be the next big victor. The one that everyone would remember. The Capitol would play right into his trap, and once they were in they would never get out. His thoughts were interrupted by that annoying escort, Sylphie something.

"Lovely, lovely. Now, onto the tributes! As always, ladies first. Ruby Jewel!"

Oh God. Who in Panem would name their child Ruby Jewel? That's asking for mockery. Then again, most people in District One had outlandish names just like that poor child. Hell, his name was Brilliance.

"I volunteer as tribute!" Satin called. She sashayed up to the stage, and walked over to Sylphie.

"Lovely, lovely. Now, what's your name, young lady?"

"Satin. Satin Winder. I am honored to be the tribute that will bring our district glory in this year's Hunger Games."

The crowd erupted into cheers. Satin had literally only spoken twenty-one words, and she had gained the support of the district immediately.

"Now, for the gentlemen!" Sylphie trilled, "Resplendence Spectacle!"

Oh, god, another outlandish name. Whatever. He had to volunteer so that this weirdly named kid didn't become the tribute. He was volunteering anyways, and it certainly wasn't out of pity.

"I volunteer!" he shouted.

He walked up to the stage.

"And what's your name, young man?"

"Brilliance Graykind."

"Wonderful, wonderful. District One, your tributes, Satin Winder and Brilliance Graykind!"

A/N: Why yes, I did parody names. That's going to happen for all of the chapters with volunteers, just letting you know. So look forward to that. Or don't. Whichever you want. Anyways, we've seen Satin and Brilliance before, but I hope that this adds layers to their characters or something like that. I don't know. I feel like I'm just going on and on about nothing, so I'm going to go to questions now. Wait, actually, there's a couple more things. I'd like to do a Q&A type thing after each major event, so if you have questions for me, put them in your review and I'll answer them after tribute POV Reapings. I also decided that I'm not going to do sponsors, it just was too stressful for me. I'll do them in my next SYOT, but unfortunately I can't do it right now due to the amount of stuff I have going on. I also am making up mentors for my tributes, so if you want to submit a mentor, now is the time because I'm creating them myself if I don't have them. Lastly, after I complete all of the tribute Reapings, I'm going to make them one big chapter. Just FYI. So on to questions!

1. Which tribute's Reapings are you most excited to see? (I know we haven't met all of them yet, but you can look on the site)

2. What placings do you think that Satin and Brilliance will get?

3. What do you think of the escort, Sylphie?

Love you guys! Hugs to anyone who wants/needs them.
