Sunny had her eyes trained on a lizard she's been persistently chasing, sure she would've went to her friends, but Sunny felt very persistent today, she wanted to catch this lizard, she had to catch this lizard, she's hungry after all! Sunny inched closer to the unwary lizard who darted from rock to rock an Sunny tentatively followed it, silently as her feet can allow while remaining low to the ground. But then it dashed around the corner an Sunny quickly followed before gasping loudly when she sees it looking at her then dashes dawn the steep tunnel,
"Oh Moons!" She cursed an ran after it, Sunny cursing herself mentally, she should've eat the fish or cows today, but she already made it this far so she might as well commit. Sunny then saw the lizard dash around the corner, Sunny was about to quickly stretched her neck an snapped her jaws an caught the lizard in her jaws, she sighs in relief, she's caught it at last! As Sunny was about to turn a glint of light reflecting off something an to her eye, she squinted her eyes an looked an saw a few feet away under a tiny hole with sun light beaming through it is... An egg!
It's yellowish gold with brown stripes, it's size is as big as two of her talons, Sunny frowned, who would leave a poor defenceless egg here? In a lone cave with them, she looked back then looked at the egg before up an deciding to grab the egg, she took a hold of it before looking around an saw no mother or father, she went back to the steep cave that's now in her view ascending. Sunny looked back one more time before confirming the egg is alone an went up the cave, tugging the egg under one talon an hide it with her left wing.
"Sunny!" Sunny almost jumped at Kestrel voice roaring at her name as the large Skywing matches over to her then looks down on her, " where were you when- catching lizards again!" Sunny flinched at Kestrel snapping tone but nodded, she hated lying, but in a way she's telling the truth.
"You stupid sandwing it was training today an you decide to go chasing lizards, you better be ready next time of so help me!" She hissed before heading down the tunnel, Sunny sighed just to realise the dead lizard is still in her mouth, she gulped it down an went down the tunnel an round a corner, heading for her cave to hide the egg an take care of it. Sunny looked back at the entrance of her cave with worry, Sunny knew she is a terrible liar an knew her friends will find out about the egg, maybe she can persuade them to help her look after it.
"Sunny" Sunny yelped in surprise an turned to see Glory standing behind her with a raised scaly brow, "where did you get that egg?" Sunny remained quiet, how did she get in here without her noticing? But she sighed, Glory already saw the hidden egg she might as well tell her.
"I've found it after going down a tunnel that went deeper, no parents, it was alone" she explained, Glory frowned an looked at it again, for a tense moment Glory looked at the egg an Sunny looked at her an the egg. Until,
"Show me where this tunnel is"
"... what?" Sunny said in confusion, Glory rolled her eyes,
"Oh no you deaf now?" she says voice dripping with sarcasm as Sunny glared at that but grabbed the egg an lead the way to the tunnel.
Glory was sceptical about why Sunny had an egg, Glory admits she was ready to accuse Starflight or Clay, heck even one of the guardians, but before she went to Sunny's cave she was with Tsunami, she told Tsunami to gather Starflight an Clay since Sunny was acting suspicious so wouldn't be surprised if they were hiding an following them. After going down the tunnel Glory was greeted by a cave with large glowing crystals that strangely filled her with power she looked from every direction an there were crystals.
"Sunny did you notice these crystals?" Glory asked an Sunny looked around ,
"No, I didn't see them" Sunny replied an Glory groaned before spotting a black tail going behind a wall of another cave an tiny whispers were heard,
"Hold on to that thought Sunny, Tsunami come out, by the way Starflight great hiding skills" she said in a sarcastic tone, groaning was heard an Clay, Tsunami an Starflight came out. Tsunami came over to her,
"Hey I found an egg" Tsunami said an Glory raised a brow an smirked,
"Oh who's the lucky dragon?" She smirks an Tsunami growled at her,
"Not like that scale changing-"
"Yeah Yeah like I didn't know that already" she groans as Tsunami hissed,
"No Glory there are a lot of eggs around here, look!" Clay says unfurling his wings, gesturing around himself. Glory frowned an looked around again an saw for the first time many, many eggs, when didn't she notice them!?
"What in the moon's?" Glory frowned an looked about her,
"How was this tunnel an caves never discovered by the guardians?" Starflight hummed looking at the eggs closely,
"Starflight i wouldn't get close too them, we don't know when they'll hatch an this place is giving off heat an cold temperatures at the same time which is weird" Tsunami told pulling Starflight away from the eggs. Glory would've objected but this time she didn't object against Tsunami, her eyes then went to Sunny an the egg she's holding it,
"Sunny I think we should leave the egg here, we'll go visit it from time to time, just we can't keep it for the factor that the guardians won't like the fact that we're raising an egg by ourselves" Glory added quickly to sooth Sunny anxiety, Sunny looked uneasy but gradually out the egg back an walked over to them, Glory wrapped an sing around Sunny lead her away from the tunnel with the group. But unbeknownst to them that the egg that Sunny left behind suddenly shaked an cracked as tiny squeaks escaped the egg an all the eggs quickly followed with squeaks an cries of their own an the crystals glowed more strongly.
A new lives are born.
