Chapter VII

Naruto woke up at the crack of dawn, getting ready for her day.

She showered, brushed her teeth, and then ran chakra through her hair to make it straight again after sleeping on it. She wore the same clothes she usually did; a kimono just like Kaguya's. Her routine was simple. She only ate when she wanted to, since chakra was her sustenance, not food. She put her gunbai on her back.

She left the house and went to the training grounds where Team 7 would be. It was a clearing in a forest near a road, barren because of all of the jutsu that singed the flora around the field. Sakura and Sasuke arrived shortly after, keeping their distance from her and casting her the occasional glance or dirty look. Naruto didn't pay them any mind. In her and Kaguya's opinion, they were unimportant.

A few hours later, Kakashi arrived, and he had them sit together, much to their dislike. "Since we have a new member, and so a new team, let's introduce ourselves again. You'll say your likes, your dislikes, your hobbies, and what your dream is." He said. The team looked at Naruto for an answer. She feigned obliviousness, staring off into blank space. When she finally got bored of that, she looked at them questioningly, "What do you want?" she said. The rest of the team sighed, skipping to Sakura, Sasuke, and then Kakashi, who said the same thing.

Kakashi said that they were going to practice tree climbing, which was a test of chakra control. He walked up a tree to demonstrate, threw down three kunai at his students, and then told them to measure their progress by making a slice on the tree where they got the highest. Sasuke and Sakura excluded Naruto. They were bitter about how she killed off Sai so quickly and without remorse. They wanted nothing to do with her. So Naruto walked up the tree casually. She could already do Gentle Fist so walking up a tree was like breathing to her.

Out of boredom, she levitated to where Sasuke and Sakura were practicing. They could barely get near the halfway point of the tree. "Not doing too well on the other side, are you?" She asked them rhetorically. "I could help you, only if you want." Their ears perked up when she said that. They turned around and looked at her, cautiously.

"All you have to do is apply some chakra to the tree. Too little and you won't stick. Too much and you'll fly off. But you know this. Imagine that your chakra usage is a scale that you have to balance. To stay on the tree, keep the balance even." Naruto said. Sakura tried it first, and she got all the way to the top in a few tries. Sasuke took a bit longer but he got it as well.

"Thank you." Sakura said, quietly. "Hm? I couldn't hear you." Naruto teased her. Sakura didn't want to say anything after that. "Sasuke, do you have anything to say?" Naruto raised her eyebrow slightly as she said it. Sasuke ignored her.

Kakashi came back. "Oh, you guys did master it. I'd imagine Naruto would know how to do it first, since she is pretty good at combat." He made a jab at Naruto. "The Chunin exams are in a few days as you know, Naruto." Kakashi gave her a form. "Sign this and bring it back to me by tomorrow so you can participate." Naruto said okay.

"We'll be doing light sparring next. Don't aim to kill, just to incapacitate." Sasuke and Sakura sighed. "Do we have to fight the demon?" Sasuke asked. Kakashi gave him a look and he toned his behavior down. "You'll have to fight me. Ignore Kakashi. If you want a chance against me, you need to aim to kill." Naruto advised. They made eye contact with each other for a few seconds, and the tension was able to be cut with a knife. "So, " and as soon as it came, the tension left, they stopped looking at each other. "we'll be starting off with Sakura and Sasuke versus Naruto."

Naruto stood up and dusted off her kimono. Sakura and Sasuke stood at the other side of the field, both holding up their fingers in front of their faces. Naruto didn't do the same thing; she didn't feel like it. Kakashi told them to start, and Naruto stood there as the two Genin ran to her.

Sasuke threw a spin kick toward Naruto's temple, but she caught his ankle and threw him into Sakura. Sasuke jumped off of Sakura and then lunged toward Naruto again, going for her throat this time, while Sakura went to sweep her feet.

"Shinra Tensei!" Sakura and Sasuke seemed to have been blown away by Naruto, landing on their backs. "Bansho Tenin!" Sasuke and Sakura were pulled toward Naruto, and her hair branched out to grab the two in front of her. She activated her Byakugan and was pleasantly surprised.

Hagoromo and Hamura- no, Indra and Ashura's transmigrants.. Naruto was smirking, and something deep inside of Sakura and Sasuke made them repulsed by Naruto, like their survival was based off of how quickly they got away from her. She threw them with her hair, then ensnared them with Wood Release.

"That's enough. Naruto wins." Kakashi said, unsurprised. "You're too aggressive, Sasuke. You didn't take any time to think and you weren't levelheaded. Naruto used your rage against you. And Sakura, you're too passive. You sat there and watched Sasuke get beaten. You should've been more supportive during the fight."

Sasuke and Sakura looked down. Naruto smirked, her ego was really blown up this time. Kakashi caught on to this and said "And Naruto, you had to use a technique from your dojutsu to fight them. Can you actually use taijutsu?" Naruto frowned, and said "I had no one to do taijutsu with, so I only know basic Gentle Fist."

"We'll get you up to speed then." Kakashi said. "Give me 20 laps around the village."

Sasuke and Sakura started running, and Naruto started levitating to them. "Running, not flying!" Kakashi told Naruto. She fell to the ground and started sprinting to catch up to the two Genin, and then started outpacing them.

Due to Naruto's supranatural life force caused by her having Kaguya inside of her, she can exert herself at a near maximum for absurd amounts of time. She was done with the 20 laps in a few minutes. "I'm done." She said as she got back to the training field. "Good job, Naruto." Kakashi congratulated her, and said "You have one more spar." with a little smile.

"Who is it?" Naruto asked. Kakashi sped behind her and went for her throat with a kunai. Naruto blocked that with her forearm, and then grabbed Kakashi by his wrist. She wasn't expecting him to turn into a ball of lightning.

"Shit!" Naruto jumped back, but she still got bit by it. A hand came out of the ground ready to grab her ankle. She threw down a smoke bomb and pulled Kakashi toward her with her Rinnegan ability. "Bansho Tenin!" Naruto held a kunai in her hand. Kakashi reacted to this by throwing a shuriken with a string wrapped around it around a tree behind him, and the ability was quickly cancelled.

"Can you handle me, demon?" Kakashi said with a slight smirk. He didn't actually think Naruto was a demon. Weird and a bit dangerous, yes, but not actually a demon. He just wanted to provoke her to have a better spar, and see how she could operate under emotional distress. Naruto remained stone-faced. "I'm sure. Wood Release: Gracious Deity Gates!" Seven torii made of wood came flying from the ground which immobilized Kakashi quickly and suppressed his chakra. Naruto walked up to him. "I win." She said. She was hit in the face with an explosion by a shadow clone shortly after, and she was sent flying.

"You little shit." Naruto wiped off her mouth which was leaking blood, while Kakashi walked out of the forest while reading a book. "Are you getting irritated so easily?" Kakashi asked Naruto. Out of Naruto's palm sprouted an ashen rod, and she activated her Byakugan. She clapped her palms in front of her and the clearing was quickly expanded by a massive burst of wind chakra that came out of her. Kakashi was almost blown away, but he luckily applied chakra to his feet just in time.

"Things are getting serious now. If we have to go a step further, I'll have to call the match." Kakashi lifted his headband and a Sharingan was his left eye. Naruto fired the bone rod at Kakashi, along with her hair. "Kamui!" Kakashi's eye bled and the bone was brought out of existence. In the blink of an eye, Naruto was in front of Kakashi, and her Rinnegan was active. A tear in space-time opened and Naruto's left hand picked up Kakashi while Naruto's chakra coated white hand aimed for his throat. Kakashi caught her hand by her wrist, threw her, then used a replacement jutsu to get out of her hand's grasp.

Sasuke and Sakura returned to see a decimated battlefield and their teacher fighting his student. "Naruto is trying to kill our teacher!" Sasuke said. Sakura followed him to help Kakashi. Kakashi put his palm up. "It's not a real fight." he said. Sasuke looked almost disappointed, while Sakura looked relieved she didn't have to fight Naruto again.

"This is getting boring." Naruto yawned, and then deactivated her Byakugan and Rinnegan. Her hair went limp for a second, and then flew back up. Kakashi immediately went for her when he could see her amassing chakra around her body. "Run you two!" Kakashi yelled at his students.

Damnit, I forgot she still wants to kill us! Kakashi grimaced. He wasn't expecting her to just randomly stop. "You're so scared of what I can do, huh?" Naruto stood still as she looked at Kakashi, and then smirked.

I almost lost. Naruto noted in her head.

Kakashi looked confused for a second, and then embarrassed that he was actually exerting himself against a Genin. One that killed his subordinate, but still a Genin. Sasuke and Sakura returned to the field. "Good, good, you guys are here too. Come back here in a few days when its the day of the Chunin exams. I want you all to rest so you can be replenished for the exams." Kakashi informed them.

Sasuke and Sakura nodded, and then Naruto started levitating off, going for her apartment.

大筒木

Naruto appeared in her mindspace.

Her mindspace was simple. It was an abyss with stars dotting the sky, with three gargantuan amorphous shapes representing her, Kaguya's, and the Juubi's chakra reserves. The moon in her mindspace represented her stunted connection with the Juubi.

"I found Indra and Ashura's reincarnates." Naruto said. Kaguya faded into existence and said "Good. In order to continue with our plans, you must reclaim their chakra after you perfect your connection with me. After that we can continue with our plan.

Naruto nodded, and then left her mindscape to go sleep. She had a lot on her plate.
