Vengeful Knight

Within the designated area for the field training in the Human World, the sixth year students that made up the barrier unit were prepared and kept watch.

"It's begun," One of the sixth year students said, "maintain barrier strength. Often dummy Hollows can attract the real thing."

"Right, right," Another sixth year student said, "but this is a safe zone so it won't likely happen."

"Just the same, make sure you don't let your guard down," The first sixth year student said, "This is part of our training as well."

"Okay, okay…" The other sixth year student said.

As the sixth years who were acting as the barrier unit, there was someone who was watching them and the person sneered at them.

"Pathetic," The person said.

Seireitei, Soul Society

In the Shin'o Academy, Mustadio was meeting with his homeroom teacher Shimazu.

"You want to know if there was a way to make something." Shimazu said.

"Yes sir," Mustadio said with a nod, "if to say something that shoots projectiles."

"Hmm, well what comes to mind is the Department of Research and Development," Shimazu said, "that is under the control of the 12th Division."

"The 12th Division?" Mustadio asked.

"Yes, it just came to be just 10 years ago," Shimazu said, "if you want something made, you may have a chance with them there although I don't know for sure that if you could get them to do it."

"Hmm, the 12th Division," Mustadio said, "Maybe I might have a chance if I join the 12th Division when I graduate."

"I'm curious Bunansa," Shimazu said, "is there a reason why you're asking?"

"Oh um yes," Mustadio said with a nod, "I'm just looking help fight better."

"Hmm, I see," Shimazu said and then he nodded, "Okay I understand. Maybe I can help you out."

"You can?" Mustadio asked.

"I'll try," Shimazu said, "I don't see why I shouldn't."

"Thank you Sensei," Mustadio replied feeling grateful.

Human World

During the training exercise, a dummy Hollow was being blocked by a sword that was wielded by Isilud and he was able to push it back.

"Your move Marach!" Isilud called.

"Got it!" Marach replied, "Bakudo#4: Hainawa!"

Marach created a crackling yellow energy rope wrapping around its neck and preventing it from moving.

"And now for the finishing touch," Marach said, "Ramza!"

"Yes!" Ramza replied.

Ramza appeared and slashed the dummy Hollow in the face and destroying it. Another dummy Hollow appeared and Ramza, Isilud, and Marach quickly turned and Ramza held out his hand.

"Hado#31: Shakkaho!" Ramza spoke.

Ramza shot the spell and it hit it on the chest area and Marach quickly slashed the dummy Hollow in the face destroying it with his own sword. Afterwards, the three men nodded and shook hands with each other pleased with their success.

"That was excellent," Isilud said with a nod.

"Indeed," Marach said.

"It's just like before back in Ivalice," Ramza said.

"Yes, I suppose it is," Marach said feeling pleased and then he turned to Isilud, "you did well Isilud. I can't helped to think how things would have gone if you allied yourself with us back then."

"Sadly I was ignorant and blind to see what was going on," Isilud said.

There was sudden loud noise and it surprised three men. They looked and saw that a dummy Hollow was up in air and someone showed up in the air as well and it was Rapha as she held her hand out.

"Hado#63," Rapha said, "Raikoho!"

Rapha shot the lightning Kido and struck the airborne Hollow and it got slammed on the ground as Rapha landed on her feet. Two other people landed on their feet on the ground and it was Agrias and Meliadoul. The dummy Hollow started the move but was slashed by Meliadoul with her sword and causing the dummy Hollow to cease function. Another dummy Hollow rushed towards the three women but that was also cut down by Agrias and it was also ceased to function. Afterwards, the three were pleased.

"That's it," Rapha said.

"Indeed," Agrias said, "we have completed our tasks."

"It seems that way," Ramza said suddenly.

The three looked and saw Ramza, Marach, and Isilud coming to meet with them.

"Oh you three," Agrias said, "it seems that you three completed your tasks as well."

"Yes we have," Marach said with a nod.

"Any problems?" Meliadoul asked.

"Not in our end," Isilud said, "You?"

"None," Meliadoul answered.

"Let's go ahead and head back," Ramza said, "we need to report back."

"Of course," Agrias said.

"Fighting against Hollows," Rapha said, "I wonder what will be like fighting real ones."

"Ramza, you fought against real Hollows before, right?" Agrias asked.

"Yes, ten years ago," Ramza said.

The six people headed for the rendezvous point to meet with the other students. As they were going, they were being watched by someone. The individual watching went to the other direction. As the six students walked, Ramza suddenly felt something and stopped and turned around and looked around. The others looked and wondered what was going on with Ramza.

"Ramza?" Rapha asked,

"Ramza, what's wrong?" Agrias asked.

"Hmm, I thought I heard something," Ramza said looking around and then he faced the others, "it must be my imagination."

Ramza went to the other and continued on their way. It wasn't long before they reach they rendezvous point where the other students were meeting up. Satsuki saw the six students arriving and waved at them with a smile. The six students waved back and went to meet with Satsuki. The three sixth-year students looked around and were pleased as they saw that all the first-years made it back.

"Excellent, all of them are back," Nomura said, "the exercise is a success."

"I'll contact the Barrier Unit," Fujieda said and had his communicator near his mouth, "Barrier Unit, do you copy?"

"Barrier Unit, go ahead," Someone said on the other line.

"The exercise has been a success," Fujieda said, "how are thing on your side?"

"Everything seems fine on our side," The Barrier Unit member responded.

"Understood, be on standby," Fujieda said.

"Got it," The Barrier Unit said.

"Okay," Shinozaki said and stepped forward, "All right first-years, listen up."

The students looked and paid attention to the three sixth-years.

"Now that the exercise is over, we can move on to the next—" Shinozaki spoke.

Shinozaki didn't get to finish what she was going say because there was a sudden spike of Reiatsu. This surprised the students and they all wondered what was going on as they looked around. There was a crash on the ground and brought the students' attention to the crash site. They looked and there was someone there as the smoke started to clear. There was someone who stood wearing dark gray armor and it was a young looking man with short blonde hair.

"What's going on?" One of the first-year students asked, "Who is that?"

Ramza looked and was wide eyed as he recognized the person that was standing and facing them.

"No, it's can't be," Ramza said in his head as he saw the dark gray armor wearing person who stood with a scowl, "Argath!"

"Hey, who the hell are you?" Nomura asked, "We're in the middle of an exercise. If you have business with us then state it. Otherwise I must ask that you take your leave."

Argath glared at Nomura in response and placed his hand on the hilt of his sword that he had sheathed and on his hip.

"A common filth like you assuming that can just order me," Argath said annoyed, "Pathetic."

Argath suddenly disappeared and it surprised the students. Argath suddenly appeared behind Nomura with his sword in both of his hands and swung it with the intent to decapitate him. Ramza saw it as he was wide eyed and immediately with lightning speed drew his sword, got in between Argath and Nomura and blocked Argarth's sword swing with his own sword and created a force that pushed Argath back. Argath was in the air and landed on his feet on the ground while the rest of the students were shocked in what happened. Nomura was shaking as he couldn't believe what had just occurred.

"That was fast," Nomura said in his head as he felt terrified, "I couldn't even follow the movements," Nomura looked at Ramza, "Had it not been for that first-year, I would have instantly been killed. What in the world is going on?"

"Akito, are you alright?" Shinozaki asked with concern.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine," Nomura said.

Meanwhile Ramza stepped forward and stopped and faced Argath with his sword.

"Argath, it's you," Ramza said, "so you dare appear before me again. I suppose you didn't learn the two times prior."

"Ramza Beoulve," Argath said with a venomous tone, "Still the same coddled and spoiled brat that you have always been."

"Wait, what's going on?" Fujieda asked as he turned to Ramza, "Do you know this person?"

"Yes I do," Ramza said, "he is an enemy. Nomura-senpai, are you alright?"

"I am," Nomura said, "thanks to you."

The other students were confused and didn't know what was going on and Satsuki was shocked and wondered who was this person that just showed up and tried to kill one of the sixth-year students and she wondered what history he had with Ramza. Meliadoul, Agrias, Rapha, and Marach rushed over and stood with Ramza while Isilud was shocked as the other students but couldn't help but feel there was something familiar with Argath.

"You're the one that stood in our way in our pursuit against the marquis," Rapha said.

"The Marquis?" Isilud asked in his head, "Does she mean Marquis Elmdore?" Isilud then realized, "That means… of course, Ramza mentioned this to me before… the one who served Elmdore… who was aiding the Order of the Northern Sky against the Corpse Brigade with Ramza and Delita… and he's the one… who killed Delita's sister, Tietra… Argath Thadalfus."

"Argath, why are you here?" Ramza asked, "How did you get here? How did you get through the barrier that was set up?"

"Questions, questions," Argath responded, "It should be obvious why I am here. Or are you too ignorant to even understand that? Your ignorance and disrespect seems to have no bounds."

"You bastard," Ramza responded.

"Stand back," Fujieda said.

Fujieda, Nomura, and Shinozaki stepped forward and drew their swords.

"We'll handle this," Shinozaki said, "you and the rest of the first-years retreat."

"I've contacted the Barrier Unit," Fujieda said, "they're prepared to get the Senkaimon open so you can all head back to the Soul Society."

"But…" Ramza said.

"Don't question it," Nomura said, "it's our duty to shield you. We're the sixth-years and we're duty bound to do what we need to do."

"You annoying rats," Argath commented, "I have no interest in you. Weaklings like you have no business here. I can't stand the fact that animals don't know their place."

"Who are you calling animals?" Nomura responded annoyed.

"Animals too stupid to know something obvious," Argath said with sigh and he shook his head, "Oh well," Argath raised his left hand up, "Come forth!"

There was another spike of Reiatsu and suddenly Huge Hollows appeared and surrounded all the students much to their shock meanwhile the sixth-year students that were Barrier Unit found themselves surrounded by Huge Hollows as well.

"Hollows," One of the students said, "Real Hollows."

"Kill all of them," Argath commanded, "don't leave any one of them alive."

"Argath!" Ramza spoke loudly.

The Huge Hollows went on the attack and three of them attacked Nomura, Fujieda, and Shinozaki which forced them to defend themselves.

"Dammit!" Ramza said.

Ramza quickly looked and blocked the sword attack from Argath.

"You don't have the luxury to worry about the rest of the trash," Argath said.

Argath went back and swung his sword again but Ramza used Shunpo and disappeared much to Argath's shock. Argath clenched his teeth and glanced at where Ramza was and ran after him. Ramza was at another area where he could see all the Hollows and the students facing them.

"Damn it this is bad," Ramza said.

"Did you not hear what I said?" Argath asked as he made his appearance before Ramza making him see him, "You don't have the luxury."

"I have questions," Ramza said with a glare.

"You do," Argath replied amused, "but sadly for you, I'm not going to answer. I just want you dead. I will prove that I am better than you. It seems that the information was indeed accurate. I really must thank them for giving me the opportunity that I desire."

"Information?" Ramza asked, "Did someone tell you about me? About what my class is doing and when it would occur."

"I told you, I'm not going to answer your questions," Argath responded, "Do you have trouble listening to people when they tell you something?"

"Fine," Ramza said," So be it."

Ramza used Shunpo again which surprised Argath and he reappeared behind Argath and kicked him from behind causing the former noble to be launched and crash on the ground. Argath immediately recovered and clenched his teeth in anger.

"The damn spoiled brat is fast," Argath said.

Argath was shocked as he saw Ramza charge towards and swung his sword at him. Argath responded by swinging his sword at Ramza and the two of them clashed their swords. Meanwhile most of the first-year students of the Advance Class were running from the Huge Hollows feeling that they couldn't take on the real Hollows at the moment. However Meliadoul, Agrias, Isilud, Marach, and Rapha fought against the Huge Hollows that were attacking using their swords and their skills in Kido with the combinations of Hoho, and Hakuda. Three Hollow charged towards the six students that were running and they were getting close.

"Hado#88," Satsuki said, "Hiryu Gekizoku Shiten Raiho!"

Satsuki fired the giant electrical and spiritual beam and struck the three Hollows and obliterated them. Satsuki rushed over to her six classmates.

"Are you all alright?" Satsuki asked.

"Yeah, we are now," One of the female students said, "thanks to you."

"Satsuki, you're amazing," One of the male students said.

"Yes indeed," Another female student said.

"I'm just glad I could help," Satsuki said feeling relieved.

Satsuki turned as she was hearing the clashing of blades and was concerned for Ramza as she knew that was from him and the armor wearing individual that had ill intent. Meanwhile Isilud was in the air and descended and slashed one of the Hollows in half eliminating the Hollow while Marach and Rapha were in the air and they slashed the masks horizontally the Hollow that the Galthena siblings faced and brought them down.

"Hado#31," Agrias said as she held her hand out, "Shakkaho!"

Agrias fired the flame Kido and struck a bird-like Hollow and brought it down and she followed up and was sword slash that stuck the Hollow in half. Meanwhile Nomura, Shinozaki, and Fujieda looked around.

"It seems that some of the first-years are fighting back against these Hollows," Fujieda said.

"It's a disgrace that we can't do much as sixth-years," Nomura said, "we should be ashamed of ourselves."

"Kenta, have you contacted the Soul Society to request assistance?" Shinozaki asked.

"Yes I have," Fujieda said with a nod, "They said that they'll be sending some Shinigami to assist us soon. We just need to hold on until they get here."

"It seems that's all we can do," Nomura said, "Come, we have fight and protect the first-years."

"What about that first-year facing against that armor wearing enemy?" Shinozaki asked with concern.

"Right," Nomura said as he looked at the side with a worried expression, "He's going to need help. He's fighting a dangerous enemy alone."

Meanwhile Ramza and Argath continued with their sword fighting clashing their blades with speed and intensity. Their last blade clash caused an intense shockwave around them.

Seireitei, Soul Society

Seigen was taking a stroll within the Seireitei. He noticed something and stopped as he looked and it was the entrance of the 12th Division Barracks.

"It's been a while since I stopped here," Seigen said, "the last time I was here was a year ago…"

Seigen had a sad expression as he recalled what had happened at the time and it had to do with someone who was his friend Kisuke Urahara.

Flashback: One Year Ago

It was early in the morning and Seigen entered the grounds of the 12th Division Barracks. There he saw someone who was outside wearing a cloak and it was Kisuke and he took a deep breath as he looked at the morning sky.

"Kisuke," Seigen spoke.

"Hmm?" Kisuke responded and he looked and saw the 10th Division Captain, "Oh Seigen, it's you," Kisuke sported a sad smile, "Good morning."

"Good morning," Seigen greeted.

"So Seigen, what brings you here earlier in the morning?" Kisuke asked.

"Kisuke, I know you left the Seireitei last night," Seigen said, "I had this dread feeling that something terrible was really happening and from the look on your face during the Captain's Meeting last night as well as the way you acted, I figured something terrible has indeed happened. Not only that but from the look on your face, it seems you sincerely regretted sending Hiyori out to where the problem was."

Kisuke was shocked that Seigen deduced so much and he saw that the red headed captain was concern for him and then he looked away with sadness.

"Kisuke, it's about Hiyori, Shinji, and the others, isn't it?" Seigen spoke.

"I… I don't know if I should be happy or sad that you were able to figure me out," Kisuke said, "you are really starting to act like Tessai."

"Tessai?" Seigen asked, "Wait, as in the Kido Commander? Is he a friend of yours and does he know something?"

Kisuke sighed and looked at the 10th Division Captain with a nod.

"You got me Seigen," Kisuke said, "the truth is—"

Kisuke didn't really get to say much as he was interrupted as Shinigami were suddenly appearing and they had surrounded Kisuke.

"H-Hey, what's going on here?" Seigen asked.

"What's the meaning of this?" Kisuke asked.

"12th Division Captain Kisuke Urahara," One of the Shinigami said, "as well as Kido Corp Commander Tessai Tsukabishi. We are here by orders of Central 46 to place the two of you under arrest. You are to come with us quietly."

"Wait a minute," Seigen said, "they're being placed under arrest? What are they being charged for?"

The arresting Shinigami looked at Seigen.

"We're not at liberty to say," Another Shinigami said, "please Captain Suzunami, step aside. These are the orders from Central 46."

Kisuke was shocked and couldn't believe what was happened while Tessai was being escorted out of the 12th Division Barracks by more Shinigami sent by Central 46.

Flashback End

Seigen looked on sadness and he shook his head.

"Even after a year, I still have not done anything to help," Seigen said with sadness and then he frowned, "I'm a disgrace. Do I even have the right to still consider myself as their friend?"

"You seem depressed Seigen," A male voice said, "Is something wrong?"

Seigen turned and faced the person who spoke it was Aizen was currently the Captain of the 5th Division.

"Oh it's you Sosuke," Seigen said.

"If something is bothering you, I don't mind listening," Aizen said with a warm smile, "In fact I might be able to help."
