She snuck her way across the rooftops, often ducking through the shadows as she went. Tonight was the right night, the stars were twinkling gracefully and the moon was shining with perfect radiance. Felicia "Black Cat" Hardy looked around herself with her masked blue eyes, her long white hair flowing in the breeze. The lovely criminal smiled, no Spider-Man in sight, tonight was her lucky night.
Felicia wore her revealing trademark cat-suit that accentuated her womanly figure and would make a few heads turn. Felicia jumped over the roof of a building to another with excellent grace, she was nearly there at this point.
After weeks of careful planning and biding her time, Felicia knew this night was the perfect time for her heist. Ever since the day it made the news, since she visited the place for her little... spying mission, she'd been preparing for the night when she snuck into the Cultural Museum and stole the Gold Feline Idol along with the Silver Moon Wolfstone.
Once she'd stolen the two artifacts, Felicia was going to sell the Wolfstone to a buyer on the market and become richer than ever. As for the Gold Feline statue, she was going to keep it for herself.
The Black Cat snuck along the next roof, making sure nobody was watching her movements. She slowly made her way to a ladder, knowing that the museum was just a block away. Then with cautious ease, Felicia climbed down into the shadows of the alleyway below.
However, just before she could keep moving, a small meow caught her attention and Felicia turned to find a dark-furred tabby cat sitting upon a crate as it observed her movements with glowing green eyes.
"Why, good evening, lonely little cat." Felicia said sweetly, approaching the tabby with a kind smile.
"Meow…" The cat mewed.
"You shouldn't be alone with nobody to take care of you." The silver-haired thief picked up the cat and started petting it gently, "Its dangerous out here, especially on a dark night."
The cat purred and rubbed its face against Felicia's neck, then it sniffed her and rubbed its furry head between her cleavage as if it was seeking warmth while leaving a mark upon the human. "Aww, what a precious little animal you are." Felicia cooed, "Why don't you have some food?"
She reached into her bag and pulled out a small biscuit, then Felicia set down the lone cat and placed the biscuit down on a plate in front of the feline. The tabby purred and ate the biscuit, then it licked its lips and jumped back up onto its spot. Felicia watched as it curled up with a smile and closed its eyes, feeling satisfied to have eaten a nutritious meal.
While the Black Cat was a sly and sneaky criminal, she had a heart of gold deep down and cared about others, including animals. With the cat taken care of, Felicia put away the plate and continued onward through the dark New York alleyway towards the very place where her special prize awaited.
Felicia slowly snuck her way through the alley, trying not to make a sound that could stir suspicion from anybody in the area. A helicopter flew over, a bright light shining as radiantly as the moon.
'Luckily, there aren't any cops in this area for me to worry about.' The Black Cat thought.
She ducked under towels hanging from a line above and walked around banana peels laying on the ground, Felicia treaded past overflowing garbage cans and made sure to watch her every step. The Black Cat turned a corner in the shadows and smiled when she found herself looking up at the side of the place she was intending to go; The Cultural Museum.
"It would appear that I'm not the only one paying a late-night museum visit..."
Felicia jumped into a combat stance, her gloved finger tips morphed into sharp claws and a cold chill ran over the cat burglar anti-hero's back. At first, she thought a rival burglar was in the vicinity to take what the silver-haired thief was planning to take. Just then, the female voice spoke again…
"Oh, don't be so defensive. We have plenty in common, you and I could work together purr-fectly."
A dark figure leaped out of the shadows and Felicia relaxed her stance. The newcomer stepped into the light, revealing herself to be a woman dressed in a dark cat-like mask and a cat-suit that highlighted her womanly figure just like Felicia's outfit, the Black Cat knew who she was. "Catwoman..." She remarked, "I never thought we would be meeting tonight."
"You know the old saying, always expect the unexpected. I've heard many whispers about you in Gotham all the way from New York, after so long, it is an honor to finally meet the legendary Black Cat."
"Is that so, I'm honored to meet the famous Catwoman. And if I'm correct, word has it that you have a little affair with the Batman. It must be so special, the romance that you two share now and then despite the different paths which have been chosen."
Catwoman giggled and leaned against the wall near an air vent, giving Felicia a teasing look. "Indeed." She said, "But that's nothing compared to your little rumored affair with Spider-Man."
"Oh, I could say the same about your affair with Batman, Catwoman."
"Why don't we discuss other important matters now?" Felicia's Gotham counterpart suggested, "I came to get my hands on this museum's purr-fect prize and it appears you've come for it as well, this is where I offer you a very interesting deal. Would you like to hear my... business offer, thief to thief?"
Black Cat placed a hand on her hip. "I'm all for business." She replied with a thoughtful smile.
"My offer is simple, we sneak in together and steal the two artifacts inside together, you take the Gold Feline and I will take the Wolfstone. We'll both share the money which we may earn once we've sold one of the artifacts to a dealer on the market, does my little proposal interest you? Take your time, but decide wisely, Black Cat. Or we could have a little… cat-fight."
The Catwoman drew a whip and smirked slyly as she stroked it and eyed Felicia, who was thinking about her offer. It sounded very promising, perhaps they could work well together as a dynamic duo.
'Yes.' Black Cat decided, 'That could work.'
"Well…?" Catwoman asked sweetly, "What's your choice?"
"I would like to accept your suggestion, fellow cat thief."
Catwoman put away her whip and walked up to Felicia with delight in her eyes, she held out her hand and Felicia accepted it. The two women shook hands in agreement with one another, ready to work together to pull off their task at hand.
Ready to get to work, Black Cat and Catwoman prepared their claws and climbed up the museum wall. They removed the grate covering the air vent with the Gotham cat burglar doing the honors before allowing her shapely bodysuit-clad New York counterpart to go first. Felicia thanked Catwoman and crawled in, making her way through the shaft with her new partner following her close behind.
"My real name's Silena Kyle by the way." Catwoman whispered to Felicia, "What about you?"
Hardly surprised by the revelation, Felicia looked back at Silena and nodded. "Felicia Hardy." She said.
"Felicia, eh? That name sounds perfect next to mine."
Both girls kept their voices down, just in case anybody in the museum was alerted to the presence of intruders. The two of them made sure to avoid hot steam, climbed narrow ledges and looked out for any loose grates or moving fan blades. Air shafts were often hard to navigate, even dangerous too.
Silena and Felicia made their way through the museum, looking for the room they were meant to go to. They peaked through grates and holes along the way, observing the many museum exhibits as they went along. Looking for the very artifacts they'd come for took a while, but eventually, the two women found the very room where the museum kept the ancient idols and stone artifacts on display.
And in the middle of the room lay the exhibit with the Gold Feline and the Wolfstone side by side. The Black Cat and Catwoman nodded to one another, ready to get to work.
Without delay, the duo opened the grate and crawled into the room carefully, aware of the fact there were cameras and lasers close by. Felicia and Silena went for the cameras and took them out, then they opened up the manual electric system near the door and tore out the wires, shutting the lasers off.
In the security room away from the exhibits, a guard on late-night duty was drinking coffee while manning the systems, doing his best to stay awake so he wouldn't fall asleep on the job.
The guard noticed one of the monitors had become fuzzy and footage wasn't showing. He set down his cup of coffee and examined the monitor, wondering what was wrong. 'Where's that back-up?' The guard thought, the man checked the systems to find a way to fix the occurring problem.
He tapped a button and looked at the fuzzy screen, nothing came up. At this point, the guard went back to his coffee. It was probably just a malfunction; he would take care of it later.
Back in the artifact room, the Black Cat and Catwoman took the glass lids off the exhibits and threw the lids aside, causing them to shatter into fragments. Felicia reached for the Gold Feline, which took the form of a golden cat statue, and Silena took the Wolfstone, which glowed like the moon. The two women high-fived with delight, now they had to make their way out and avoid getting caught.
Felicia and Silena climbed the wall back into the air vent, the Feline and Wolfstone in their pockets. The girls sealed the vent before crawling their way back, back to where they'd started in the alley. No alarms went off and no security scrambled, the womanly duo were in the clear for now.
"I'll sell the Wolfstone, you keep the Gold Feline." Catwoman told Black Cat in a kind manner. Felicia nodded, agreeing with her partner on the logic. After all, she'd been planning on selling one of the artifacts to a dealer and keeping the other one anyway. They exited the vent and crawled up to the rooftops, breathing in the fresh air and taking in the light of the moon in the sky above.
"Mission accomplished." Black Cat said proudly, regarding the Gold Feline as she held it in her hands, "I'll say, we made a good team. Hopefully, we'll be able to do more business in the future, Ms. Kyle."
"And I hope we can meet again for some tea if we have the time, Ms. Hardy." Catwoman replied in a formal manner, "Such an idea sounds purrrr-fect, don't you agree?"
"Yes, absolutely. But for now, this is where we part ways. It was nice meeting you, take care of yourself and make sure nobody catches us."
Felicia and Silena shook hands again and shared a tender hug, signifying their newly-formed bond as partners in crime and sister cat-thieves. The women waved goodbye to each other and Catwoman headed off into the shadows while Black Cat embarked across the rooftops, she kept an eye out for police patrols and helicopters in the vicinity, making sure nobody was waiting to ambush her.
The shapely thief made her way to her mansion on the edge of the city, still hanging on to the Gold Feline. Felicia crawled through the window and entered her home on the upper floor, then she closed the window and put the Gold Feline artifact among her collection of stolen jewelry and riches.
Ready for some well-deserved evening relaxation, Black Cat got herself a drink of champagne and sipped her refreshment with a smile. Then Felicia headed for the hot tub in the swimming pool area and changed out of costume into a revealing swimsuit, she set foot in the steamy water and sat down in the tub, allowing the hot water to soak into her muscles and relax her.
'And to another successful night of crime...' Felicia raised another champagne glass in a toast to herself and drank it, sighing happily as she soaked in the steaming hot water.
Felicia looked up at the full moon shining through the ceiling window, illuminating the room and gleaming upon her toned skin. The Black Cat smiled even more, savoring how there wasn't a single complication and how tonight saw the beginning of a new friendship between thieves.
Meanwhile, at an upstate apartment, Catwoman lay upon a warm bed, petting a pair of tabby cats providing her company, while she thought about her new friend Black Cat and their future as BFFS.
The End
