Astrid grins "unmated girls wear their hair in braids to show that they aren't married yet.

Mated women can choose to keep their hair braided to keep their hair out of their eyes or leave it unbranded to present that they're married."

Hiccup comments "we're mated, why don't you let your hair down?"

Astrid's face heats up and says "sorry but we have to go through a marriage ceremony and then at night, we mate and I let my heir down."

Hiccup looks at her for a minute and ask "can you let your hair down for image?"

Astrid looks at her father and says "I guess it wouldn't hurt my image inside my house" and pulls the tie out and unbraides her hair.

Hiccup gets up and walks around her looking from her head to toe and says "personally for me, I say you look more beautiful with your hair in a braid."

Ingrid laughs at that.

Astrid braides her hair and puts her tie back on.

Alistair stare at Hiccup in curiosity.

Hiccup remembers promising to make a saddle for Stormfly and ask "Astrid? Is Stormfly in your shed?"

Astrid answers "no, she's at the arena with Toothless."

Hiccup nods his head and leaves the Hofferson's house and runs to the arena.

He walks over to a chest and looks at rope and comments "they would need rope for things. Maybe I can look in armory for spare rope?"

He runs out of the arena and through the village until he reach the armory shed and opens it to see weapons lined up and then finds ropes and takes one and shuts the door and turns to face Snotlout.

Snotlout grins "whatever your trying with Astrid, it's not going to work. She likes me and wants to be with me.

Your just freak who was raised by dragons while I'm a real viking. Stay away from Astrid or your going to get hurt."

Hiccup sternly warns "you shouldn't threat people you don't know just because they have something you want."

Snotlout punch him in the stomach "if I see you put your hands on her again, I'll beat the crap out of you."

Hiccup reacts and uppercut Snotlout on his chin and punch him hard across his cheek knocking him on his ass and scowls "don't you ever hit me again or my dragon will kill you."

He walks past Snotlout and runs back to the arena.

When he gets to the arena, he wraps rope around Stormfly's neck to measure how long the straps should be..

After measuring the rope, he cuts it with his dagger.

He then walks to the forge and looks through leather and padding.

Spitelout arrives and grins "boyo, your under arrest for hitting my son who is the heir of Berk!"

Hiccup comments "I'm busy at the moment, come back when my protector is around."

Spitelout scowls and grabs him by his collar and drags him to the hall for trial.

Stoick and the council members were discussing plans for another quest to search for the nest.

Spitelout throws Hiccup in the hall "brother, your son attack my son without cause!"

Stoick looks at Hiccup and says "he's not my son! And you attack the heir for no reason, take him to the cell!"

Hiccup scowls "you want to hear the truth or the lies of your heir?!"

Spitelout punch him across his cheek "shut up!"

Hiccup retaliates by punching him in his groin, then uppercut in the chin sending him on his ass.

Stoick punches him in the head knocking him unconscious.

Two guards carry Hiccup to jail cell and throw him in.

Night time came, Astrid walk to the forge to check on Hiccup to see rope there that looks like it was cut along with leather strap.

She looks around for Hiccup, but can't find him anywhere and whispers "where did you go, Hiccup?"

She decides to check jail cell and runs to it.

Once inside, she check the cells till she finds Hiccup curl up in the corner and says "Hiccup?"

Hiccup stands up and growls at her.

Astrid smiles "Hiccup, it's me Astrid."

Hiccup whispers "Astrid."

Astrid ask "who put you in jail cell?"

Hiccup sighs and tells her what Snotlout and Spitelout did along with Chief Stoick. Astrid unlocks the cell and says "let's in form our elder Gothi and your mother. Stoick won't challenge either of them."

Astrid checks the back of his head to feel a knot and grew pissed.

They walk to elder Gothi and tell her the story and then they walk to the hall. Astrid walks right upto Stoick and punches him in his right eye and scowls "the next time you hit my mate, you'll be dealing with both of our fucking dragons, you asshole!"

Ingrid scowls "ASTRID!"

Valka gasped "Stoick! What did you do?!"

Astrid scowls and told her what Snotlout lied about being hit without cause, Spitelout punch him and Hiccup retaliates against Spitelout to Stoick punch him in his head and gave him a knot.

Valka looks at the knot and says "stay away from me, Stoick! As of now I don't want to be living in your house anymore until reconcile with my son, you have no wife, you piece of shit!"

She walks over and sits beside Ingrid to eat dinner.

Gothi wracks Stoick in the head with her stick.

Hiccup scowls "I'm glad I grew up with dragons than live with an asshole of a father who takes the word of a lair over his son who was raised to not lie!"

He pulls out inferno and stabs Stoick's dinner and throws it on the floor and says "assholes don't get treated like nice people they get same treatment" points inferno at Stoick's throat "don't fucking move asshole. Next time, you hit me, I'll send Toothless on you along with my nest members!"

Stoick gulps in fear.

Astrid intertwined her fingers with his and grins come on, my mate. Let's eat."

Hiccup looks around the hall and says "they can't be trusted anymore. I want to go back to your house to eat."

Astrid nods her head "of course, Hiccup."

They walk past the adults when Snotlout blocks their path.

Valka commands "SNOTLOUT SIT YOUR FUCKING ASS DOWN AND LEAVE THEM THE FUCK ALONE BEFORE I BEAT YOUR ASS AS WELL!"

Snotlout sits down and scowls "don't expect an adult to save you everytime!"

Astrid punch Snotlout in the back of his head while Hiccup pulls him off the seat and points inferno at his throat "you will leave us alone or deal with our dragons from my nest. And thats three hundred dragons with a bewildered beast dragon that is ninty-nine feet tall."

They walk to Hofferson's house to eat dinner alone.

Astrid sighs "I'm sorry about the tribe, Hiccup. If you want, you can fly back to your nest to live."

Hiccup teary eyes "he said I wasn't his son in front of the council members."

Astrid gape "oh my Odin. You can room with me Hiccup."

They arrive at Hofferson's house and Astrid cooks fish for them.

Hiccup grins "thank you, milady."

They eat dinner and then Hiccup follows Astrid upstairs to her room.

Astrid curious ask "you won't try and attempt to have your way with me if I change out of my clothes and put on my nightgown in front of you?"

Hiccup shakes his head "my mom, Valka told me a few things about girls in this tribe to remember."

Astrid removes her armor and says "close your eyes."

Hiccup turns around and face the door with his eyes closed."

Astrid takes off her clothes and slides her nightgown on and says "you can change now."

Hiccup widen his eyes "I left my clothes in my basket on Toothless."

Astrid opens her closet door to pull Hiccup's basket out and says "you brought this from Toothless when we returned this morning."

Hiccup removes his armor suit and clothes and puts on his pajamas pants and shirt.

Astrid made a makeshift bed with the extra fur and Hiccup's furs from his nest.

An hour later, Hiccup thinks about how much he wanted love from his father and realized that he would never get it and he can't trust anyone who follows has father and begins shedding tears and sniffles.

Astrid stirs to sniffles and looks down on the floor to see Hiccup wipe his eyes and sighs before sliding off her bed and slides beside Hiccup on the floor and places his hands around her waist and whispers "don't move your hands" and rest her head in the crook of his neck "I love you, Hiccup."

Hiccup smiles "I love you too, Astrid."

A half an hour later, Alistair and Ingrid returned to their home to go to sleep.

They peek in their daughter's room to see their daughter sleeping beside Hiccup on the floor in a makeshift bed furs.

Alistair sighs "I can't believe what Stoick did to him."

Ingrid shakes her head "I was surprised by his sudden fury of retaliation in a second."

They walk to their room and go to sleep.

Valka slept in spare bedroom at Gobbler's house.

Stoick rubs his forehead to cool his forming headache.

In the morning, Alistair and Ingrid woke up and went downstairs and made pancakes.

Ingrid finished making pancakes and walks upstairs to her daughter's bedroom and opened it to see Hiccup and Astrid still asleep and pulls the furs off them to see Hiccup's arms around her daughter's waist and her arms around his back.

She grins "this looks adorable."

Hiccup and Astrid stirred to hearing talking to see each other and look down, then to the voice to see Astrid's mom and separated and stand up blushing.

Ingrid smirks "oh, don't even try to hide anything. I'll be downstairs waiting for you two. Pancakes are getting cold, so hurry up and change out of your pajamas."

Astrid and Hiccup fold up the furs and set them on the bed.

Astrid grins "close your eyes."

Hiccup turns to face the door while closing his eyes.

Astrid takes off her nightgown and put on fresh clothes and armor skirt and shoulder pads.

She then tells him "you can change into your day clothes."

Hiccup ask "is it law that we aren't allowed to watch each other change clothes between boys and girls?"

Astrid answers "boys aren't allowed to watch girls change clothes or see them naked until they get married to that girl. Girls are allowed to see boys shirtless."

Hiccup takes off his pajamas pants and shirt and puts on his day clothes.

They walk downstairs to join Alistair and Ingrid for breakfast.

Alistair ask "had a good sleep?"

Astrid grins "yep."

Hiccup sighs "is it okay if I said Astrid left me wondering what the next moment between us would be?"

Ingrid warns softly "Astrid be careful with these moments with Hiccup. He never grew up here so he doesn't know some laws about sleeping with a girl before marriage."

Astrid nods her head "yes, mom. I know."

Alistair curious ask "do you know why dragons raid us for?"

Hiccup sighs "yes. It's Red Death. A ninty-nine foot tall dragon that is four hundred feet long."

Astrid gape "no way. That is unbelievable."

After eating breakfast, Hiccup and Astrid left to go to the forge for Hiccup to make a saddle for Stormfly.

Snotlout stop by the forge to see Hiccup and Astrid working on an object and says "you know your to report to dragon training to learn how to kill dragons, Astrid?"

Astrid too busy with sewing the leather together to hear the voice until the person taps her shoulder to see Snotlout and scowls "leave me alone, Snotlout!"

Snotlout grumbles "we have dragon training this morning."

Astrid respond "I quitted dragon training after I bonded with Stormfly and don't want to kill dragons anymore."

Hiccup cut a second length of leather strap for the saddle.

Snotlout scowls "ever since you met that freak, you became swoon over him! And who let him out yesterday after he attacked me after I told him that we're dating?"

Hiccup laughs "that is a lie you idiot. I was getting rope for a project and you told me your delusional belief that Astrid loves you and told me if I don't stay away from her, you were going to hurt me and punched me!

So I retaliate by punching you back and send you on the ground. Then you cried to your daddy to get your way. Don't hit me and not expect I won't hit back. I don't give a crap if your heir, don't challenge me because you don't know me."

Snotlout grins "my father was going to ask Astrid's father for his daughter to marry me."

Astrid grins "I hate to interrupt your happy image of us getting married, but I told my father to hold off accepting any marriage contracts until I got to know the Dragon Prince which turns out to be Hiccup."

Snotlout smirks "and your going to tell your father that you want to marry me."

Astrid scoffs "heck no! Your a lying piece of dragon dung! Attack a boy over jealousy because I felt attracted to Hiccup.

He may have been a little forward with his letter explaining that he likes me and ask me to wait until he could return permanently for us to see each other and see what the other is like.

He is patient and understanding with me on expression his feelings towards me and I appreciate that of him. So I like him too."

Snotlout scoffs "your parents won't accept him as your husband because he was raised by dragons and couldn't pay your bride price because Stoick won't pay it because he wants nothing to do with the Dragon Prince.

He disown him in front of the council members. And he can't afford your bride price with just his love" and laughs.

Hiccup sighs "I'm sure Alistair could tell me how marriage contract happens and what is required for a deal to be made.

Besides I prefer to win a girls love before asking the father if he wouldn't be opposed to marriage contract after the girl brings up wanting marriage."

Snotlout scoffs "your pathetic."

Astrid gape "and that is why I like Hiccup over you."

Snotlout scowls at her.

Gobber arrives at the Forge to see Snotlout, Astrid and Hiccup and says "Snotlout, Astrid, your supposed to be at the arena learning how to kill a dragon!"

Astrid sighs "I would like to-"

Snotlout smirks "wants to try and beat me in dragon training because we made a deal that if I beat her, she has to agree to marry me and if I lose to her, I'll have my father pay double her bride price."

Gobber gape "did you really agree to that deal, Astrid?"

Snotlout grins "of course, she did!"

Gobber sternly says "Snotlout, shut up! I'm asking Astrid, not you!"

Astrid answers "no, I didn't agree to any deal with Snotlout. I want to quit dragon training."

Hiccup comments "Astrid wants to quit dragon training because she bonded with Stormfly."

Gobber sighs "well, Valka asked me to tell Hiccup that since he lived in peace with dragons, she recommended that he teach the teens how to train dragons."

Hiccup gape "my mom wants me to what?!"

Gobber grins "she wants you to teach the teens to train dragons and then the adults."

Hiccup sighs "at least settling in won't be hard."
