(Pluto POV. Lunch concluded an hour ago. Pluto is leaving an office room with Tithi)
I had to bring Tithi with me to discuss funding with the WBBA. I had no idea Dynamis was that poor. With the amount of money he had, Tithi and I would have barely lasted three days, and we were supposed to be in Japan for at least one month. I had no idea how Dynamis intended on living on so little cash, but I did not have any intentions of finding out. Seeing as Gingka's father was the head of Japan's WBBA, I had to ask if there was any way they could sponsor Tithi and I to stay longer. At first, Gingka and Ryo were confused but the moment I showed them just how much yen Dynamis had, they instantly forked over enough funds for me to stay in Japan for two months. Thank goodness.
Tithi and I decided to leave the headquarters early, I couldn't stand sitting in a room with all the Legendary bladers anymore, so we left. Tithi didn't want to leave yet but I managed to drag him out with me since I did not trust him to not say anything while I was gone.
"You're really scary you know, Big ! How can you get away with pretending to be Dynamis so easily?!" Tithi pouted at me, we were already far away from the WBBA, so no one there would have heard our conversation.
"How am I able to get away with it so easily? I would answer that, but I don't even know. It's not my fault your friends don't know Dynamis well enough to realize that I'm not him," I snarked.
"But I know Dynamis well, he's basically my older brother!"
"You didn't even realize that I wasn't Dynamis until you caught me in the hallway back there, Tithi."
"I—"
"It sounds like you are no better than the rest of them."
"Oooh I don't like you at all Mr. Meanie Pants!"
"You should be referring to me as Dynamis! Not…Mr. Meanie..."
"I'm only gonna call you Dynamis in front of Yu and everyone else, but when they aren't around, I'm going to call you whatever I want!" Tithi stuck out his tongue and shrugged as he turned away with his arms crossed.
"Tsk," I turned away from Tithi as well. For the rest of the walk, we did not say a word to each other until we reached the electronic store.
"Why are we here?" Tithi asked, confused.
"I need a computer."
"You mean those electronic bricks? I still don't know what they do," Tithi looked curiously at me.
"Do…do you not know what a computer is?" I really shouldn't have been that surprised by the fact he didn't know what a computer was. Rago didn't know either when Doji was showing off Merci, I remembered him being just as confused as Tithi.
"No, not really. They look really cool, but they also look so confusing. I asked Dynamis about them, but he said they were really complicated to use, even for him."
"Complicated? Maybe your friend just had his head stuck under a rock too long. You don't have to be like him," I mocked the man whose body I had borrowed, before opening the door to the shop. Tithi didn't appreciate the insult, but he still followed me promptly instead of waiting outside.
"Good day to you sirs, how can I help you?" The shop clerk greeted us from the counter. The store wasn't huge so the clerk could see us from the entrance. I already knew exactly what I needed so I went to the clerk immediately.
"I need an Achrom Aspire S7, your most premium earphones, and any accessory I will require for this laptop."
"You certainly know what you need. Come over here," the shop clerk exited the counter and proceeded to guide me to the items I required. As they grabbed my items, Tithi stared at the different equipment in both awe and interest. The item that really caught Tithi's eye was a regular electronic tablet.
Suddenly, the boy ran to me and forced the device in my hand. "If you can go around buying that laptop thingy and all those cables, you can get me this!" Tithi demanded.
"That is an iPad."
"Whatever this electric brick thingy is called!"
"How about this, do not disrupt me while I am working on my laptop, and you can have the iPad."
"You will really get it for me?!Deal!"
I turned over to the shop clerk to hand him the device Tithi wanted desperately for some reason, "I'll take this iPad too."
"No problem," the clerk walked back over to their desk. "And that will be 210 thousand yen!"
I guess the price would be overly absurd for someone like Dynamis, but this was nothing for me. At the end of the day, I was spending the WBBA's money. I would be glad to drive them into bankruptcy. With the expenses handled, I dragged Tithi back to the hotel with me. I had enough social interaction for the day.
(Two hours later at the hotel)
"Umm… —"
"0137."
"Thanks."
This was the twentieth time Tithi asked me in the same hour about his iPad password. I thought allowing him to have an iPad would help distract him, but I severely overestimated his ability to use any sort of tech. Once we arrived at the hotel, I quickly gave Tithi a rundown on how to use his new tablet. Well, I want to say quickly but that could not be farther from the truth. Any time I introduced a new concept to him, I was bombarded with foolish questions I had no choice but to answer if I wanted him to shut it. Just when I thought sitting among those fools was sickening, having to act as Tithi's new tech expert did not make things any better. I couldn't tell if that kid genuinely was that stupid, or if he was purposely asking for such stupid questions to get on my nerve.
"Tithi, I need to catch a breath. I will be back."
"Where do you think you're going?" Tithi dropped his tablet back onto the bed and jumped in front of the hotel room door, "I thought we agreed to not leave each other alone!"
"Tithi, you aren't going to follow me in the bathroom, are you?" I was really hoping for him to say no.
"WHAT?!" Tithi shrieked in a shy panic. Good, at least he knows where to draw the line.
"Exactly. I will be back in five minutes. I…I just need to ask the front desk a question."
"Oooh fine, but I'm gonna hunt you down if you try anything funny mister! I'm watching the time. On the clock! Yea!" He pouted at me, but I turned a cold shoulder and slammed the door before he could say anything else.
An unusual headache had been bothering me ever since we returned to the hotel. The pain wasn't unbearable, but it certainly was not a pleasant feeling. I never had any intentions of going to the front desk, I just needed an excuse to leave the room to catch a breather and think to myself without any distractions. As I walked along the empty hotel corridors, I thought about how long I was trapped in the void. Only six months huh, perhaps Rago would be fine waiting just a little longer. Still though, I am no longer there to keep him company. If only I could have used that spell on Rago as well, I wouldn't have to be in this ridiculous situation. The headache only proceeded to get worse, and I was getting hit with an unusual dizziness. My focus was slowly declining, and I was starting to lose my balance. It felt as if a dark cloud had suddenly formed in my head to torment me. I placed my hand on the wall to regain the balance I was gradually losing.
I muttered, "What the hell is happening? The body swapping spell should not have side effects like this. Why do I feel so sick?"
"Pluto, can you hear me?" A voice all too familiar rang in my head. Was anyone else able to hear it, was this telepathy or was insanity getting the better of me. It wasn't that long ago since I last talked with him, but it felt so odd hearing me outside of the void.
"Rago? I—How are you talking to me?" I whispered, not wanting other people to hear me.
"I don't really know, but I found some way to contact you through our connection to Nemesis. Are you doing alright?"
"No. I have a headache."
"Oh, that's not good. Maybe you should get some rest…Wait, when did the pain start?"
"Sometime after I returned to the hotel with one of the legendary bladers. Why?" Rago didn't respond to my question.
"Shit."
"What? Rago?" He didn't respond again; I quietly called his name a number of times but he didn't answer me. The headache subsided oddly enough, so I continued walking down the hall.
"Is the headache still there?" He finally began to speak to me again.
"Yes, but it is not as bad now. Don't tell me the headaches are your fault…"
"They must have been a result of me trying to establish communication with you, I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. This works to our benefit, and the headache does seem to be subsiding. I'll just have to hope that pain is a one-time thing…"
"How have you been faring? Other than the headache."
"It's still terrible. Second, I should be asking you that question. Are you going to be okay there by yourself?"
"I'm not sure, but it's not like this is all that unfamiliar. Take your time Pluto, you shouldn't have to return to the surface just to stress yourself out. Otherwise, it's no better than being here…"
"You shouldn't tell me to take my time, I'm concerned for your sanity."
"And I'm concerned for you too. You're confronting the legendary bladers, are you sure you'll be fine?"
"It doesn't matter, I'll suck it up for now and screw them over later."
"I just think—Actually. Nevermind. I think I'll leave you to do your own thing then. Dynamis's body too? I see. I guess I'll talk another time perhaps."
"Umm…bye?" With that, he stopped talking and there was an unusual silence in the hotel corridors again. Why did he comment on Dynamis? I stood quietly in my spot to think about my next courses of action.
"Hmm…wasn't there supposed to be a bey tournament next week? Jade Jupiter huh?" I sighed, "Do I really need to use this thing, ughh…that means I will actually have to figure out how this thing works."
"Dynamis?" Tithi somehow found me, but I guess I never made it that far from the room. Now that I think about it, I've been walking around in Dynamis's shrine robes this whole time. This calls for an intensive wardrobe change, the kid too. We're dressed for the wrong time period and the wrong place.
"We're going to the mall tomorrow."
"I need the password again."
"FOR THE LAST TIME—"
(Dynamis POV, a few hours later. It is nearing closing time for Cafe Lynx.)
The second-floor lounge was quiet. I was the only one there since everyone else had to work for the cafe. Every now and then I had seen them visit the lounge for a brief period before returning to their positions. Motti occasionally came up to deliver me food, apparently "on the house" thanks to Elysse. She had to explain that the term meant free of charge since I was baffled at first. I still need to learn more about the modern terminologies and slang, so I do not continue to make a fool out of myself. Elysse had her own errands to do on behalf of Johannes, so I had most of the second floor to myself, excluding the work offices right across from the private lounge. It had been several hours since I first arrived in the cafe, and it was now evening. It wasn't uncommon for me to have days where I would do nothing but sit on a chair in the temple, alone, for most of the day. Very rarely would people visit the shrine, so isolation was something not unfamiliar to someone such as myself. At least here, there were plenty of cats to keep me company. As I gently patted the cat that chose to lay on my lap, I heard someone come up the stairs and enter the lounge room.
"Hello uh…Dynamis? How has the day been treating you?" Cycnus, the swan blader, asked me curiously. He gave me a light smile, I always remembered him being the nicest of the three. He sat next to me on the couch.
"Cycnus. It is nice to have a proper conversation with you after everything that has happened."
"Well, the last time we saw each other, we were enemies no?" He tried to act cheerful about it, but there was a hint of sadness in his voice.
"What happened in those seven years, Cycnus?"
"Huh? Is that your way of asking me why we all were fighting you guys? Doesn't the will of the heavens say something about it?"
"There were prophecies about the Child of the Black Sun, but they were strictly related to him."
There was a short pause of silence. The only thing that could be heard was the distant sound of chatter and kitchen work downstairs. There were so many questions I wanted to ask him, and he must have felt the same way.
"You must want to know about Rago huh? That's probably what you really want to hear right?" Cycnus broke the silence to ask me that question.
"I want to know about both. Rago, you, the others."
"Heh. You know, up until the star fragment arrived, he never really changed. Neither did we I guess. We sort of just lived in the wild. Away from everyone else, in ways it wasn't so different from the village but when we left, it was quiet. No one to bother us, it was peaceful," he paused. He gave himself time to recall the past before continuing, "You know how Nemesis was trapped in Pluto's temple, and yet it didn't fall into Pluto's hands at first? It went directly to Rago right?"
"How did it get to Rago though? The last time I remembered, he didn't have any bey before Nemesis."
"He didn't. The star fragment hit him instead."
"Hit…him?"
"Yes. It hit him. We all saw it with our own eyes, do you doubt me? You can ask the other two you know!"
"Oh no I do not doubt you. You have no reason to lie about such a thing…I just…I am just trying to picture that scene in my head."
"Heh well I guess I can't blame you. The immediate aftermath was a bit funny," Cycnus giggled but I saw his expression turn into worry quickly, "If only it were just a one-off comedy skit but you know that's not what happened. Nothing really noticeable happened for the first few days but all of us knew something wasn't right. I mean, you don't just get hit by some flying magic rock with no consequences."
"Right…what happened after?"
"Well, nothing. At least that's what it looked like, but I remember Rago talking about getting unusual headaches. We tried laughing it off, but I think we all knew it had something to do with Nemesis. We really were crossing our fingers for all the prophecy stuff to be a bunch of bull but…you know," Cycnus looked at me with a sorrowful expression, he looked quite distraught.
"Are you okay?"
"It is nothing. I really shouldn't mope here and now of all places," he placed his hand over his face briefly, he must have been checking to make sure no tears were falling.
"I assume the star fragment must have done something to him."
"Yea, but what exactly I don't even know. Did Nemesis mind control him? Or maybe it simply dragged out all his negative emotions? Both? I hope it's not the latter two. Otherwise, that just means…" Cycnus sighed, not finishing his sentence.
"So that is why he felt so out of character. Ah, I guess he was right about it back then."
"Oh? You two had some secret conversation I wasn't aware about?" The blader I once knew so many years ago teased me playfully. I laughed a little in return, Cycnus was always the most sociable of the Nemesis Bladers. Herschel was a close second, while Keyser was quite reclusive from what I recalled. Rago was somewhere in the middle ground between Herschel and Keyser, but I think he leaned more towards the fly blader's introvertedness.
"It was right before you guys left."
"Right, I guess I do vaguely remember Rago wanting to talk with you in private hmm."
"My apologies for asking this, it may be too personal, but I do want to know, just how did you three feel when you were fighting on the side of Nemesis? You can be honest."
"Huh? Oh. Well, if I were to be completely honest, I—" Before he could continue his sentence, he was interrupted by Herschel and Keyser barging into the break room. They had just finished cleaning the cafe to close it for the night.
"Well, well, well. Look who's been having a little fun talk with the mountain guardian over here? Talking all about Rago without us? What kind of tea did you spill, Cycnus? You better fill us in," Herschel laughed while swinging his arm around Cycnus's shoulder.
"Cycnus, I think you should stop spilling so much personal information to him. We still can't trust him," Keyser glared at me in distrust.
"Huh? I mean, I guess you're right, Keyser. I'm sorry, I shouldn't talk about your guys' feelings without your permission."
"It hasn't even been a whole day and you're already spilling all the beans? You should make him spill some stuff too since he seems so concerned over us?" Herschel nudged Cycnus as a joke, but I could tell that he too was distrustful of me like Keyser. Whatever Cycnus was about to say to me, the others didn't trust me to hear it.
"Tomorrow morning, you're giving us the tournament details. You said that's going to be one of our best chances at getting a hold of Pluto, right?" Keyser raised his eyebrow, most of his face was covered by his mask but it was not hard to tell that he was very doubtful of me.
"That is the plan. He has to participate in that tournament as it was the reason why Tithi and I came to Japan in the first place. I do not think even he is foolish enough to withdraw from that tournament if his goal is to stay under the radar and avoid suspicion from the other legendary bladers," I answered the blader of Musca.
"Right, cause they could assume that 'you' got possessed for a second time if it were that bad," Herschel placed his hand in a thinking position, and looked at me, "I don't think we want him getting caught so soon though, cause if they see you…"
"They will just assume that you are Pluto and get you thrown into prison or something," Cycnus worried.
"Yes, and I cannot allow that to happen," I sighed.
"Wow, all of you guys are just hanging up here. What did I miss?" Elysse peered into the room with several grocery bags filled to the brim with instant noodles. She shoved all the bags into the cabinet before strolling back to the door. The three Nemesis Bladers gave Elysse a small wave. Not long after, Johannes barged in the room as well.
"Nya everyone, I'm going to close the building now. Good work today meow," Johannes smiled at everyone. Once he looked at me though, he quickly turned his head in disgust.
Cycnus stood up from the couch and grinned, "I think I'll be retiring for the night alongside Herschel and Keyser. Even though you're not really here as yourself, it was still nice catching up, see you around."
"See you tomorrow, Cycnus, Herschel, Keyser,uh, Johannes. May you all have a good rest of the night, " I bid Cycnus and the rest a farewell. They all quietly left the room. Only Herschel and Cycnus gave me a light wave back, while the other two completely ignored me. Now, the only ones left in the room were Elysse and I.
"Yea…I think it's going to be a bit before they get comfortable with you. Surely, you can kind of understand why?" Elysse worried, "You know, obviously they weren't exactly fighting for a good cause but—"
"I know. I won't hold it against them. It is in the past now, and they do not appear to be causing anyone trouble now. Right now, my main concern is just Pluto."
"Right, I just hope he's not up to anything stupid. Come on, let's head back and get some rest."
I nudged the cat slightly so that I would not drop it as I stood up. The feline quickly hopped off to another side of the couch before resuming its nap. Instead of leaving the room normally, she had opened yet another portal, this time back to the living room from earlier today.
Not much else happened that night. I had a shower and then went to rest.
(Dynamis POV, unknown location)
A domain of fantasies. A place to relive past memories. A world distant from reality. This was the realm of dreams.
Most regular people have no understanding of this place, which is why they never truly seem to understand how dreams or nightmares work or how to control them. As a child, I learned how to traverse the dream domain to view old memories and live in other realities separate from my own.
I opened my eyes and looked down to see myself in my original body. Here, I was still able to be myself. Since I knew how to shape the dream world as I saw fit, the realm had taken the appearance of my temple on Mist Mountain. If I ever needed true silence, I would head into this realm so not even the nearby animals could bother me. I raised my head to look at the false starry night sky, hoping for some idea to strike me. Perhaps in this unusual realm, I could find some answers to help guide me towards Pluto's goal.
A thought crossed my mind. If I were in Pluto's vessel, then would it be possible for me to access his memories? I could accidentally run into something overly personal to him, but he was the one who created this mess. The options to what I could see were limitless, so I gave myself time to think. Would I find the answer in his time in the void? Could it be right at the airport? If I learned how to dive into his past, whatever plans he had would be revealed.
Hm. Where to begin? A brief vision of what happened at the airport could provide me just the answer. Yes, I will try that.
I extended my hand and reached for the false sky, with my eyes now shut, I chanted, "In this realm of other worlds, and what once was, send me back to this vessel's past, allow me to understand Pluto's motivations!"
(Dynamis POV, a new "unknown" location)
Before I even opened my eyes, I knew something about this location and its atmosphere. It felt very familiar, but not in a good way. This wasn't the airport like I had hoped. Somewhere, I must have made a mistake, or perhaps accessing another person's memory is more difficult than I anticipated.
When I looked to see where I was, I was in Hades's lost kingdom. This was the temple where we had fought and defeated Nemesis. Rather than replay the event through my own eyes, I noticed I was once again, in Pluto's body. I was not sure about what happened when I tried to manifest Pluto's memories, but I knew something went wrong.
I tried to analyze where exactly in the battle we were, when I noticed Firefuse Darkhelm lodged into the ceiling. Any moment now, Zeus's barrier was going to activate. I wanted to smile, but something kept me from doing so. An unusual feeling was slowly but surely taking me over. I knew Nemesis was going to be defeated, so why was I suddenly so hesitant. Was it because I was Pluto here, was this how he felt?
As I continued to witness the battle, the horrifying sensation continued to disturb me. Was this fear? No, it was more than that. Doubt? Helplessness? Resentment? Loneliness? This agony was becoming unbearable. I was not able to read into Pluto's past at that moment to understand why he felt that way, but it did not matter. The pain that afflicted him then was afflicting me now. How was this supposed to help me figure out Pluto's plans? I wanted to escape, but terror gripped onto my legs. No matter how hard I tried, I could not move from my place. While I continued to struggle, I witnessed the formation of Zeus's barrier, but as before, there was nothing I could laugh about. As the barrier began to seal away the God of Destruction, it suddenly hit me. Zeus's barrier had caused the collapse of the temple, and while I had escaped, neither Rago nor Pluto did. As I watched the legendary bladers escape, I witnessed Rago falling to his doom. I did not know the man who was my friend all those years ago, died so brutally. If that was what happened, what was going to happen to me?
This was but a dream. I would wake up. This was not real. I knew it wasn't, so why did it feel so much so?
The dreadful feeling only became more profound as the temple continued to cave in. Just when I took a step back to escape, the rumbling of the temple forced me to trip over the stairs. The shrine continued to collapse as I pathetically tried to crawl up the staircase to no avail.
As I put my hand on the stair behind me, the words of Hades' descendant forcibly left my mouth.
You won't get away with this Legendary Bladers, King Hades's prophecy is the law.
I felt so much hatred, so much fear. Even as Pluto, no I, cursed at the legendary bladers, there was nothing I could do. I wanted to cry, but a part of me was so blinded by anger and malice that I just refused to shed any tears. I could no longer tell what my own thoughts were and what belonged to him.
Whatever I said after that, I could not even hear it properly. I was too consumed by horror to focus on my surroundings. I was going to die. This was how my life was going to end. Everything that I worked towards, wasted and for nothing. I was so scared. I did not want it to end like this. I was losing my mind. I wanted someone to help me, even though I knew no one would come. At that point, I was trying to cope with the fact that any moment I would…
No, please. I can't die here alone. Somebody, anybody, please help me. I don't want to die.
I tilted my head up, and everything went black.
(Back into the bedroom, Dynamis wakes up)
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
I unleashed a deathly scream throughout the household as I shot my body straight out of bed. Was I alive or dead? Whatever just happened, it felt much too real. I swiftly turned my head left and right to check my surroundings. I was in the bedroom again. My breaths were rapid, and my heart was pounding intensively. I paused to try and take one deep breath to calm myself, I must have disrupted Elysse. Before I could peer over the bed to see the time on the clock, I was shocked by multiple loud knocks on the door.
"Hey Dynamis, are you good?! Why are you screaming like a banshee at 4AM in the morning?!" Elysse shouted in concern. The door slammed open as the woman barged into the room.
"I…I may have made a terrible mistake…"
"Well, it definitely sounded like it, what in the world happened?"
"You have a magical background so I am sure you would understand. The dream realm. Are you familiar with it?"
"Yea, were you trying to access Pluto's memories?"
"That was the plan. I wanted to see if I could figure out his plans by looking into his past, but it seems I investigated the wrong memories…"
"What could possibly make Pluto scream with such…Oh. No wonder, that is very unfortunate. Yikes," I saw Elysse grind her teeth in worriment.
"I…why did I see that? How does that help me in any way? The only thing I gained from that is an increased fear of what feels like everything…"
"Well, I'll try to answer the first question? Did you need to state what you wanted to see when you went memory hopping?"
"Yes."
"Then what did you say?"
"This is what I said word for word. In this realm of other worlds, and what once was, send me back to this vessel's past, allow me to understand Pluto's motivations!" I announced and then looked back at Elysse, "That is what I said."
She sighed heavily at me as she looked down at the floor in disappointment. The woman crossed her arms and responded dumbfounded, "You and the other prophecy finatics, you really need to learn not to speak so vaguely when you're trying to do stuff like this you know?'
"What do you mean?"
"You asked to understand Pluto's motivations, not for his plans. Of course you weren't going to get his plans, you asked for why not what. You made a huge mistake in your words, Dynamis. Even if you know what you want and think about it, you need to say it properly or else you're going to get the wrong thing."
There was not much else for me to say, I was lost for words. All of that anguish because I misspoke. I responded, "I see…Well I think I will need some time before I dive into his memories again…"
"I think we can figure out what he is plotting without having to rely on dreams to do so. Don't fret about not finding anything yet, we have some time," she smiled even though a part of her was deeply concerned. She grabbed onto the door to leave, but she turned and asked me, "Well, that memory probably was not pleasant to experience. It must have been awful, I…nevermind. Other than the emotional damage, did you manage to gain anything from the dream?"
"Hmm…" When I relived his memories, it felt as if I truly became him in that moment. All his fears and worries had become my own in some way. That experience was horrifying, and I would not wish it on my worst enemies, not even on Pluto himself. He did work towards the revival of Nemesis, a crime against the world. Yet, I wondered if there was more to it. He did hurt many, but he was not a heartless, emotionless monster like the rest of the Legendary Bladers probably believed. He was human, like the rest of us. I could not help but feel bad for him, even after everything he had done. Even if I wanted to turn a blind eye to it, I could not ignore the amount of terror I had felt in his shoes. Still, I was not sure about how to word it to Elysse. What did I really learn from this? Was I supposed to just feel pity for him, or was it supposed to be more than that? I answered to the best of my ability, "I am not sure. I have an idea, but I feel like I am still missing a piece of the puzzle. Perhaps with time, I will understand the purpose of the vision. There must be a reason as to why the Heavens would want me to see such a thing."
"Right…Maybe so," Elysse glanced away. It looked as if she wanted to say something, but forgot. She turned her gaze back at me, trying to figure out just what exactly she wanted to mention.
"It seems as if you forgot something?"
"I uh…OH! Yes, I want you to take this for the time being!" Elysse quickly waddled over to the bedside and handed over an unusual bey to me. It was similar to Firefuse Darkhelm due to the face bolt, but that was where the similarities ended. The bey appeared to have a Hades fusion wheel, but I was unsure, the rest of the parts were unknown to me as well.
"What bey is this?" I asked.
"It's a work in progress. A little project Pluto had since he wanted to try his hands at manufacturing a beyblade himself. It doesn't have a proper name, and I have no clue whether this thing is any good in battle but at least you'll have something just in case something goes wrong. I'm no expert on beys myself so I can't tell you what parts this thing is made of. He was still frankensteining the bey together so it's no finished product by any means."
"I see, does it at least have a temporary label?"
"Well, Pluto and I have just been calling it Prototype Hades. It technically has all the parts it needs to function, but you know, we haven't had much time to really try it in battle. It could be really good, bad, or just average. Won't know till you try."
I thought about my Jade Jupiter, now in Pluto's hand. It felt weird owning the prototype beyblade, a part of me felt as if I was betraying Jupiter somehow. There was not much I could do about it now though. I just had to hope Pluto would not do anything to harm my bey. Perhaps it would be easier if I just let him gain full control of it for the time being, it might be the safest option for Jupiter that way.
"It's still pretty early in the morning, so you can try to sleep for a few more hours before we head back to the cafe. Try not to do anything crazy in your dreams again, especially since you know how the last time turned out," she teased lightly.
"Thank you, Elysse. I apologize for the screaming earlier. Do enjoy the rest of your sleep as well."
"Yea, uh, you too…" Elysse closed the door and left me alone for the rest of the night. By the sound of her voice though, it sounded as if she didn't have any intentions of sleeping. In fact, I had a feeling she was never sleeping in the first place.
With the room returning to a state of silence, I placed the new bey onto the bedside drawer and fell back to sleep.
