He watched Gabriela serving her friends at Molly's without her noticing. Mills didn't remember exactly when his crush on Gabriela Dawson started to surface, he just remembered that since he'd met her, he'd assured himself that she would be his. Gabby enchanted him with her beauty, her smile, her bright eyes and a sensuality that left him breathless. But nothing came from the sky, as he thought it would.
Mills had long ago noticed that Gabriela was looking at Lieutenant Casey with a different look. A look of someone who was secretly in love with her co-worker and best friend for years. For a long time Mills had to hide the hatred he felt towards Casey for allegedly stealing the woman that was supposed to be his. But his hatred was directed at someone else. For another man.
Jay Halstead.
Mills gritted his teeth in anger as he remembered that police officer who had come to help Gabby arrest the men who shot Antonio in a police case and how grateful Gabby was to Jay. He remembered the times he'd seen Gabby arriving in the morning at the fire station getting out of Jay's car. He knew Dawson had spent many nights with Jay. It made him feel a feeling he'd never felt before: for the first time, Peter Mills wanted to kill someone. Especially Jay Halstead, that nosy detective.
However, his hatred for Jay now split into hating Casey as well. Gabby and Casey were close again after a fight in which Casey disagreed with Gabby reaching out to Voight to help arrest Antonio's shooters. Mills angrily recalled that it was Casey who helped Gabby renovate Molly's and he was there cheering on Dawson's happiness.
"It wasn't fair," he thought in disgust, "I was the one who should have been at Gabby's side right now."
Mills didn't want to see Casey next to Gabby even as a friend. His dark brown eyes filled with anger as they stared at the entrance to Molly's. Heather Darden had just walked in and her expression wasn't the happiest. It had been known for a long time that Andy's widow was already hitting on Casey, who refused the absurd idea of getting involved with his best friend's widow. Mills knew that Heather was resentful and angry, he knew that no woman accepted being snubbed.
"Nice night, isn't it?" he approached Heather.
"How do you bear it?" she whispered looking at Casey and Gabby.
"I always hope that Hallie will come back at some point and Casey will come back to her," he replied wryly and Heather looked at him with disgust.
"It always happens, Heather," he reminded her. "Every time she and Casey broke up, it wasn't long before they were back together."
"However, I don't want to be the second option anymore." The blonde turned to Mills. "I want much more than that. I want Casey. I want him the same way you want Gabriela."
"Are you proposing an alliance to me?" He raised an eyebrow.
This was getting interesting.
"If you agree," Heather bit her lip. "After all, we have common interests."
In fact, Heather was right. Like her, Mills didn't want Gabby around Casey. Like Heather, Mills felt rejected and belittled by Gabby, just as Heather felt the same way about Casey. After all, what would they have to lose by helping each other out? Anything.
"I say yes," he agreed extending his hand. "We have an agreement."
Hello guys!
My name is Marie, and I'm posting here for the first time.
Well, this story takes place around the first season, and it will have some modifications, as you can see, Jay and Gabby met in the first season in this story. I'm still getting used to posting here, so I'm sorry, hahaha.
The story will revolve around suspense and romance, and I can't promise there won't be Dawstead moments, because there will.
And as for Mills and Gabby, don't worry, there won't be anything serious, like rape, going to happen either. I won't give spoilers, but don't worry, Gabby will be fine :). Hope you like it .
