Weeks of work at the library and adventuring in the TARDIS with Lila, Theodore's having one of the rare day-offs from both, and he's enjoying it with food from his favourite pub while watching the telly with his fur friends.

Lounging in his causal clothing, holding his pastrami sandwich with a smidge of mustard, Theodore munched on it while sipping on his drink in-between.

The ferrets dined on their chosen foods and they're watching the telly intently while deducing what's going to happen next.

They squeaked theories with each other while Theodore silently watched the old serial from a detective show from sometime ago, long before his parents came to Earth for good.

Reaching for a napkin, Theodore wiped the the mustard off the side of his mouth as the scene started and the ferrets clamored near the telly while they watched.

After running for his life, dealing with half-witted Daleks, smart Daleks, first generation Cybermen, current generation Cybermen, authoritative Sontaran, scientific Sontaran, and then some, Theodore's happy that he's able to throw up his long legs on the couch after finishing his sandwich.

The TARDIS hadn't bothered him, so it's a good indication that he's able to spend the remainder of his day-off uninterrupted.

Enjoying the show with the ferrets, Theodore settled on his couch with his head turned to the screen, and content with his day.

His rent paid for the month, helped with Mrs. Thornton with some things, dealt with his brother, there's nobody needing him.

Despite that he'll have times where he can't take a day off, Theodore's not languishing at the thought, he'll simply enjoy what time he has. His father took the title in stride, even he said that there's no harm in taking breaks, and he took plenty of breaks.

Scratching the top of his head, his wild hair bouncing, Theodore yawns as he watched the detective make a deduction.

He thought he heard knocking, but thought it's coming from the telly, as there's a character knocking on the door, and as the scene transitioned, Theodore heard the knocking, again.

It's coming from his door.

Pushing himself up from the couch, he stretched as he felt his back popping while he let out a loud yawn.

Going towards the door, Theodore looked through the peephole, and for a moment, he didn't see anyone, but when he saw shadows moving outside his door, three, he blinked.

There's frantic knocking, now, and Theodore ended up opening his door half-way, but he's pushed backwards as three individuals ran through the doorway and one broke off to close the door behind.

It took only a moment before Theodore's brain caught up and he saw three individuals exhaling sharply as one looked through the peephole, afraid.

It's… the Samito?

"What… are… you… three… doing… here?" Theodore didn't have time for cordial, he's in his lounge clothes, his ferrets in hiding, and he's not about to have Samito ruin his day-off from his duties.

Reese blubbered as he exhaled sharply, his hair sticking to his forehead as he used his fingers to loosen them, "Ya gotta help us, Doc!"

Lambert sputtered, "We're being hunted!"

Jasper concurred with, "Oh yes, yes, he's frightful, sir!"

Coming from the Samito, Theodore's having a hard time not coming up with scathing replies, he's still sore with them trying to make a meal out of him, even if they learnt their lessons.

Seeing how frightened they looked, Theodore groaned as he concluded that he couldn't send them away, though they tried eating him, he's still the Doctor, and this is his speciality.

"Okay, explain to me, what happened?" Theodore asked them.

Reese replied first, saying that they were minding their own businesses, working the set of some movie, and when they went off for lunch, someone started following them. No matter how many ways they took, their stalker's not far behind.

Lambert added that they're capable of handling their own against humans, so they figured if this human meant harm to them, they'd eat him, and be done with it.

Jasper then added after her that when they're preparing to deal with the human, they found out that it wasn't a human. It's someone (Theodore's able to identify it as who's wearing a transmog device) that looks human, but to the Samito, they're able to keenly see through the disguise.

"Who and what is it?" Theodore's curious about this event, now.

Samito weren't the types to frighten easily and their disguises come from them slowly modifying their bodies to look human, they don't use such device, nor do they have access to such technology.

"We don't know, man, but he looked mighty ugly. Uglier than you!" Reese shrugged his jacketed shoulders as he tells this to Theodore.

They don't know who or what he is, only that he's been stalking them, and they don't know what to do.

Hence, them there in Theodore's flat.

"I have to ask this, did you do anything untoward to somebody?" Theodore plainly asked them as they uneasily looked around.

Jasper responded that they're good about their behaviour with others. They don't trouble anyone that didn't deserve it and they're always weighing options before doing them.

Seeing them this frightened convinced Theodore to help them, only because of the adage.

There's always someone bigger.

"He's not something from the deep, a cousin perhaps?" Theodore went through the list of possible suspects with the Samito.

Shaking their heads, the Samito swear that the man stalking them's not even in the same genius as them. He doesn't look like anyone they've encountered before, more like a land dweller than someone who swam the depths of the oceans.

Makes sense if he has a transmog device. They're not designed for depths the Samito swam.

"I don't suppose Samito have predators, do they?" Theodore continued as he sat in his couch watching the Samito pace around his flat with fear in their black eyes.

He's told that Samito typically don't have predators in the sea, not to say there's not any in the deep sea, but they hardly go anywhere near there to really get on someone's radar. If they can help it, they don't go that deep, and if what they told him's true about what's down there, he doesn't blame them one bit.

"Land dweller alien stalking you, you sure you don't know what species it is?" Theodore blinked as he watched the three Samito pace around his flat.

Lambert replied that before they went through the reef, they didn't go on land, so they don't know any land-dwelling species. If there were any in their original universe, they didn't swim near their cove.

When they came through the other side and found themselves living in a different universe, the only land dwellers they encountered since then and coming on land's humans and land dwelling animals.

"Okay, not narrowing it down for me, is he doing it to anyone else?" Theodore gestures as he's trying to come up with who could've stalked the Samito.

He heard from Jasper that the alien's only stalking them and they checked before concluding that they're the only ones stalked.

Theodore then asked if this alien's planning on turning them into dinner, but the Samito don't know. They think it's not coming to eat them, but kill them.

That's a no-no in their society. Without reason, hunger or defending themselves, it's a heinous offense.

"Well, whatever it is doesn't live in your society and doesn't seem bothered by breaking any rules. If you're telling me the truth, then I can't allow this trespass. You're already risking a lot being here as it is, I can't let this alien cause havoc just to get you," Theodore concluded.

The Samito thanked him profusely for agreeing to help them and he asked for time to change out to his work clothes.

His work clothes as what you'd expect from an aloof giant who's eccentric tastes get looks by people.

If the stalker's bent on killing the Samito, as they suspect, then there's a strong chance Theodore's unable to negotiate peace.

Should that be the case, it's the unfortunate matter of the Doctor where they're forced to handle situations they can't negotiate.

"Where did you see him last?" Theodore asked them as he tugged on his drab coat while adjusting his frilled white collared shirt.

In an overlap of voices, the Samito replied that they saw their stalker on the corner of a street.

Samito aren't known to read street signs and they only found Theodore because they still have his scent. They didn't want to stop and look behind, afraid of where their stalker might've been.

Sighing, Theodore shook his head as he realized that he couldn't ask them to say exactly where they saw their stalker.

Theodore made it clear that the Samito weren't staying in his place nor the TARDIS, he's dealing with their problem and when he concludes this, he doesn't want them around.

"Come on, you're still sore?" Reese lambasted Theodore for holding a grudge against them. "We apologized!"

Dryly, Theodore reminded him that he's got enough problems on his plate and having Samito around him wasn't helping, either.

That said, he affirmed he'll help them, only because he needed to know who and what's around, now.

He fetched his father's trusty Sonic Screwdriver, which he fiddled and altered to fit his needs, and changed out the crystal that formerly powered it, for something more reliable.

The crystal lost it's charge decades ago, anyhow, expended to the point that it's gone translucent. It's nothing more than a prism now and Theodore couldn't obtain a replacement crystal as it's from his father's home world, mined in deep caverns.

The replacement he found's just as good and didn't need a rare crystal to power it.

Just something he cobbled together, he made sure he tested it multiple times, but he managed to make the Sonic Screwdriver unique to him, but keeping his father's touches.

His brother wouldn't like it, but then again, Hammond never liked anything he did.

Calling out to his ferrets still hiding from the Samito, Theodore told them he'll be back in a bit. If they need anything, Mrs. Thornton's only a stone throws away.

There's faint chattering, but the ferrets didn't poke their heads out, still afraid of the Samito.

A cold blast of air hit Theodore's face as he exited the building with the Samito behind him. Outside, there's flurrying and silence, darkness as the sun disappeared behind thick clouds.

There's no telling what in store for this unexpected adventure of his, but Theodore's hoping for miracles.

If all fails, he'll fall back on his trusty companion, but for now, he'll try his own hand at this as his father did many years ago.
