Peering with his icy blue eyes, Theodore searched for any signs of the stalker with the Samito trailing behind him. With their sense of smell, he's hoping they'll point him in the right direction, as they're not going to forget the scent of an apex predator.

On his mind, Theodore's thinking about possibilities of what type of alien he's dealing with, as he's not familiar with Samito as it, but the fact they're petrified's enough to concern him.

He knows it's a land dweller and Samito aren't familiar with it, don't know where it's from, and it's using a transmog device.

Intelligent.

Theodore doesn't think it's Silurian, they're not keen on transmog, they're a prideful sort, and even then they'd prefer camouflaging with their surroundings more than appearing human.

Not a Sontaran, they're not the sort to use transmog period, against their beliefs, and the Sontaran's likelier to track Theodore down more than a trio of Samito.

Not Zygon, no, they don't have interest in hunting Samito, don't even know what those are, and they're not interested in hiding among humans. Besides that, it's too cold for them.

Cybermen, no, not their speciality. They wouldn't even know what Samito were.

Dalek, they would've announced their presence hours ago, and Theodore would've heard their shrilly voice a mile away.

Judging from their description about a large red-headed reptilian with with large scarring around his face, golden slit eyes, and the knowledge of transmogrification, still Theodore doesn't know what alien they're dealing with.

Doesn't sound like anything his father ever encountered and he's sure none of the Doctors before him encountered anything like them, he didn't see any descriptions for them in the book he's read.

Only reason he knew much about the Samito's because a Doctor encountered them and put their description in the database.

Can't exactly expect the TARDIS to pull a miracle in a short time, it's not exactly a spring chicken as it used to be, and Theodore's keeping that in his mind because the last thing he wants is that machine getting sore with him talking about its age.

"So, what're you going to do?" Reese asked Theodore what he planned to do once they caught up to the stalker. He's disappointed when Theodore said he'll try to assess the situation and go from there, because he doesn't want to cause a scene, not in the middle of London, and not with any witnesses.

If it's intelligent enough to use a transmog, maybe Theodore's wrong in his previous assessment, maybe he can barter for the Samito's lives.

If all fails, well, nobody can say he didn't try.

That of course leads to an interesting question.

How is he even going to stop something like this alien if he can't barter for their lives?

It can use a transmog device, there's no telling what arsenal it has with it that bring a chance of destruction and needless killing.

Thinking back to what his father done in his shoes, Theodore chewed on his bottom lip as he presented himself with options.

He can short out the transmog with his Sonic Screwdriver and hopefully give enough jolt to paralyze the encroaching alien for a couple of hours until he can send it packing.

Where exactly, he doesn't know, but it won't be nice if the alien doesn't play nicely.

Another question poked through his brain and he's wondering how this alien got here in the first place.

A ship?

The same way the Samito found their way into this universe?

How did this alien get here without him knowing, if there's any sort of ship landing the TARDIS' bound to let him know, and if there's any activity from rifts or tears, it'd let him know, too.

Something doesn't make sense and Theodore doesn't like it.

In the cold breeze, Theodore's stitched drab scarf fluttered as he's searching for the elusive alien. The Samito trailing behind him as they kept watchful eyes for it.

It's been two hours since Theodore's thrusted into this unplanned adventure and he still can't find the alien, despite his efforts with the Samito.

With their sensitive noses, the Samito couldn't track the alien, despite their efforts, they've lost the scent, and it didn't make any sense to them.

When Theodore cut himself that day, they easily tracked him all around London without problems.

Theodore's baffled as they are, until it crossed his mind, that if the alien uses a transmog, showed some semblance of intelligence in tracking Samito, it's likely camouflaged itself and its scent.

Hard to do, but again, if it showed intelligence, it knows how to hide its scent from the Samito, further adding to their fears that they're targeted.

"Hm," Theodore furrowed his thin lips as he's thinking about what to do until he got an idea and retrieved his father's Sonic Screwdriver from his coat pocket.

It's still in the beta period, but it should work enough for Theodore to spot the alien.

Holding the silver bodied Sonic Screwdriver with the top changed out for something more unibody. Wouldn't make sense to keep the original topper on account it concentrated the energy produced by the crystal that Theodore removed.

Still a little heavy, but not as heavy as it could've been, but Theodore planned on working with it more.

Pushing on the button hidden on the side, the Sonic Screwdriver powered on as Theodore watched with baited breath, because if this doesn't work as intended he's going to have to explain to his big brother how he broke their father's Sonic Screwdriver.

Which wasn't something easily bought from a hardware store, despite the name sounding like something sold with an "as seen on telly" sticker on it.

Few existed and for good reasons.

The original variant came from Gallifrey, a multipurpose tool that his father took with him and used to take the TARDIS from the scrapyard.

Everything after's whatever a Doctor finds or makes. Sometimes a Doctor leaves their previous one behind for the next to use, but sometimes they can't give up everything when they leave the title behind.

His father kept his as a memento of his time.

Kept it away from his children until they were older and Theodore stole it from a box stowed away in their childhood home.

With baited breath, Theodore watched the Sonic Screwdriver hum as it's powered, there's a blue light coming from the top of the Sonic Screwdriver.

It's a miracle it powered on at all, but that's a good sign, and Theodore's taking it as such.

Slowly, he moved it in his hand as he searched around the area while the Samito watched.

Theodore noticed the pinging on his Sonic Screwdriver, indicating that there's something close by, and he listened to it as it pinged in intervals of high and low.

Moving his hand, Theodore's icy blue eyes watched as the blue light started rapidly flashing, and he narrowed his eyes as he followed the rapid pinging.

It's near the Samito and he chewed on his bottom lip as he realized that he couldn't communicate with them via telepathy as easily as he could with humans.

Chewing on his bottom lip, Theodore then concluded what he needed to do, and he pushed the button on the Sonic Screwdriver again, causing a surge.

He caught sight of an outline near Reese and he shouted for the Samito to move away from there immediately. Jasper took point and led the other two away and Theodore sees the outline coming after them before he shouted, "Enough's enough, haven't you had enough for the night?"

His Glaswegian came through and the outline stopped.

He heard a deep raspy voice call out, "Heh, I've stalked bigger prey than them."

Lowering his hand, Theodore asked, "So, it is true then, you do intend to kill them, right?"

There's a gurgling growl coming from the outline before it replied, "Depends, what're they doing here?"

Looking towards the Samito who stood close by, Theodore replied as he looked back to the outline, "It's complicated. Why were you chasing them?"

The outline flatly replied, "Because I have kin here and I didn't want the savages of the seas getting any ideas."

Confused, Theodore inquired if the outline knew what Samito were, and learnt that they shared a home world together. The Samito referred, too, more than once as the savages of the sea, because of what they do to prey that swam to close to their coves.

It surprised the outline seeing the Samito walking on land, that it needed to investigate their motives.

It's never happened before.

"Who are you?" Theodore inquired the outline as it reached it's arm and pushed a button, turning off the camouflage.

His golden slit eyes looking at him behind the guise of a normal man, he introduced himself as…

The name doesn't roll off the tongue easily and if Theodore attempted to say it himself, it risks his throat.

So, he shorthanded it, Dom.

Intrigued, Theodore inquired what Dom is and he replied that he's a Ko'gan.

"Savages of the land," Jasper remarked aloud, loud enough for Dom to hear him and he grinned.

Snorting, Dom responded with, "Guess our reputation precedes us."

Raising his brow, Theodore remarked that he never heard of that species before and Dom told him he'd likely won't encounter them outside him.

"Bad luck," Dom summed why Theodore wouldn't meet other Ko'gan.

Hence, why he stalked the Samito, because he didn't want the risk of them coming after him, as Samito are known to do when they consider something in their perceived cove.

"I have a daughter, I risked everything to bring her here where she's safe. I'm not losing her to Samito," the weary Ko'gan gave his reasons for stalking the Samito.

He fled his home world with his daughter and brought her to Earth where he thought it's safer.

Looking towards the Samito who wearily looked back, Theodore noted that they don't want any trouble, either. They just wanted to live on land, rather risk living in the seas.

None of them wanted trouble, so Theodore asked if there's any chance they're able to see through their differences as species.

"I agree with the half-blood, they're my found children, I must defend them, too," Jasper spoke up as he stated that he saw Reese and Lambert as his children, despite them not related to him by blood.

He understood why Dom stalked them, now. It's what any father would've done if he perceives a threat to his kin.

"I promised her mother I'd bring her somewhere safe and I'm keeping that promise," Dom gave a nod as he told Theodore his reasoning.

Both sides have loved ones and they're protective over them, willing to go to bat to defend them against any dangers.

"Well, good, seems we had a misunderstanding and now, we talked it through. Are we going to have any problems from then on?" Theodore asked them as he sees the two sides looking at each other wearily.

Dom shrugs his wide shoulders as he said that if they don't bother his daughter, they'll be fine, and Jasper agreed, adding the same for his found kin.

"So, Dom, how'd you get here, anyway?" Theodore became curious as he looked at the disguised Ko'gan.

Dom replied that just before the last war broke out, he met a strange man, looked awfully like Theodore, but older, and he told the battle weary Ko'gan that if he needed a new home for himself and his daughter, Earth's the one.

Even took him here sometime ago, let him get his bearing, and he's been here ever since. Didn't notice the Samito surfaced until recently and with his daughter out in the open, he became concerned.

Theodore knew who helped Dom and recalled his father always had a special place in his two hearts for Earth. He wouldn't just let anyone come to Earth unless he saw something in Dom.

Seeing the war-torn home world and the embattled Dom doing everything to protect his daughter would've swayed Theodore's father to bring them to the safety of Earth.

Seeing how this resolved peacefully, Theodore took the time to converse more with the two species, and they gave him closure.

They're not hunting each other, they just wanted to live peacefully among humans, away from their respected troubles, and then some.

He learnt more about Dom's daughter, called her Shale, and he brought her here as an egg, kept her warm on cold nights until she hatched the first day of spring some years ago. Has blue stone eyes like the stones near their den and she's adapted better to the human habits than her father. Still has her mother's wit.

Reese and Lambert's baffled that Jasper sees them as a found family, but given there's no other Samito from their pod, or any other Samito really, it's better than nothing. Thus, dissolving their hodgepodge and reforming it as a proper pod. Jasper now leads them in decisions.

Exhaling sharply, Theodore saw them off before he returned to the comfort of his flat, where he's besieged by his fur friends, and he then returned to a couch potato with his legs thrown up on the couch and a bowl of popcorn on his chest.

"I think I'm getting the hang of this," Theodore mused to himself as he chewed on freshly popped popcorn.
