Fishbowl Diaries
Chapter 6
Brooke took a deep breath. Stared at the beautiful scenery in front of her. Before she looked back at Lucas.
"Fashion is my first love. I grew up making clothing designs and stealing clothes from my mom's closet. That is where i thrive. But doing on my own. Without my parents backing in terms of name and business experience. Feels impossible."
"As if i will never measure up. Victoria's voice is in my head."
"Saying how i'm not smart or too stupid. I don't have enough this or that to build a fashion empire of my own."
"What if i try and fail.?"
"God i'm sorry for dumping that on you. It's just i feel safe in a way i haven't experienced in my life so far." Brooke stated.
The expression on Lucas's face softened.
"I feel the same way." "I need to be honest with you." Lucas replied.
Brooke tried to ready herself. She knew it something was up with him.
"I have two kids. They are 10. My son Nixon was born when i was 17. As for Lilly. My mom and uncle Keith who were her biological parents died coming back from their travels. Lilly has no memory of them. She was just a few months old. Nixon's mom died during childbirth."
"It's alot but i manage it. I love them. They are my life."
"That is more then enough baggage on my end of side of things."
"Which is why no relationship i've been in since i graduated high school worked out. Dating me involves joining a family and that isn't fair to anyone to expect to take on such a responsibility."
"Us being friends feels like the right decision. I'm only 27 but it feels like alot at times. Raising them on my own is the hardest decision i ever made and i know even with the darker times that have happened and will happen in the future. I wouldn't change it." Lucas proclaimed.
"Thank you for sharing that with me. None of that could of been easy to live with. But you are alot more stable and driven then most guys i know."
"I want us to be friends too. I don't have the best track record with relationships either. You are far from alone there." Brooke replied.
"I should get you home." Lucas said.
