Fishbowl Diaries
Chapter 25
It was a quiet ride to Richard Singer's house. Aside from the car radio and the wind coming in from the open windows.
Peyton followed Nixon's written out address.
He lived in Tree Hill all his life. He's had the opportunity to gain access to Nixon from the minute he was born but instead he allowed years to go by. Attachment to form.
For that and along with all the pain and mess his presence was currently causing. Peyton hated this man she knew she wasn't alone in those feelings.
When they got to the house. Peyton parked her beloved Comet in the street. Steps away from the home.
From what she could see. It was large. Multi leveled. The car parked in the driveway was expensive.
He was rich. Came from parents who gave him a free pass to anything and everything he wanted.
Which is why he felt bold and entilted enough to ask for custody of a child he had never even met.
Peyton took a deep breath and looked to Nixon.
"What do you think bud.?" Peyton asked.
Nixon stared at the front door then back at his aunt Peyton.
"You took me all the way here. The least i can is knock on the door."
"Will you wait here for me.?" Nixon asked.
"I'll be right here." Peyton reassured him. Watching seconds later as he left her car.
She gripped the steering wheel tightly. As her cellphone rang.
...
Nixon bawled up his fists and knocked on the door.
When the door opened in front of him. Nixon felt himself pause.
Seeing Richard on screen then seeing him person.
Left him feeling more then he expected.
"I shouldn't of come here. I need to go." Nixon announced.
The expression on Richard's face softened. "Nixon. I've wanted to meet you for a long time. I would of had you in my life. But i had my own problems i had to deal with. You deserved better then someone who was broken. Unable to put you first."
"Which is why i am forever grateful to him. For doing what i couldn't." Richard explained.
"What's changed now.?" Nixon asked.
"Me. I want to be in you're life. I love you." Richard replied.
...
"If i didn't take him Luke. He would of come here on his own."
"He's curious and wants answers. I'll bring him right home once he's ready." Peyton reassured Lucas. Before ending the call between them.

Lilly spun around and looked at herself in the dress. Brooke had created.
Her dark straight hair pulled into two ponytails.
"I changed my mind. I want to go to the dance. You took the time to make the dress. Why let it go to waste." Lilly explained.
"I'm happy to hear that. You should have fun and enjoy yourself."
"You're only this age once." Brooke replied.
"How come you don't have kids.? I think you would be a good mom. The best." Lilly questioned.
Brooke sighed deeply. "It just wasn't meant to be." She replied.
"Can you take me home.?" Lilly asked.
