Fishbowl Diaries
Chapter 40
Brooke swallowed hard. Trying to process the sight of her parents in Tree Hill. A world that had become home to her. Where she felt happy and safe for the first time in her life.
"I thought you were in prison.?" Brooke questioned. Looking to her mother.
"I got out months ago. You would know that if you bothered to pick up my calls." Victoria explained.
"Living off the grid grew without purpose after you're mother was released and reached out to me."
"We could at last be reunited. Everything that happened before. Was so long ago. None of that is relevant now." Ted Davis added in.
"I lost my company and had to move to a new town. None of that is ancient history for me. Why have the two of you showed up here anyway.?" Brooke questioned.
"We've been keeping tabs on you of course. And our worst fear has been made reality. That isn't costume jewerly on you're hand is it.?" Victoria asked.
"No not at all. I'm engaged and happier then i've ever been."
"Leave it alone. If either of you ever loved me. You'll let me go and live you're own life." Brooke stated. As she moved past them. Entered her home and locked the door.
By the time she showered and changed into her own clothes. Made her way back outside to head to work. They were gone to her relief.
Brooke drove straight over to her clothing store. Smiling at the sight of Peyton. Haley. And Rachel awaiting her.
"I can safely say the new clothes that are on the rack won't go anywhere. No need to rush inside." Brooke joked.
"We heard about the engagement. Lucas told me then i told the girls. We couldn't be happier for you Brooke." Haley said. Engulfing her in a hug.
Brooke smiled hugging her back.
"We want to help with the wedding as much as possible." "I'm a model so any entertainment hook up needed is a phone call away." Rachel said.
"I'm in the music industry. So the soundtrack is covered whatever you and Lucas want is on me."
"Food. Dessert. A place to get married. Nathan and I can help with that. We have to figure out you're colors and the theme for the wedding."
"Honeymoon. Is a must. Work can wait. The both of you need to make sure that happens. The kids can stay with us or Peyton and Jake." Haley rambled on excitedly.
"The Nix and Lil can stay with me and Marvin if you need a quieter place for them to hang out until you get back." Rachel suggested.
"Traditional vows or are you and Lucas going to write you're own.?" Peyton asked.
"Let's not overwhelm her. She does have work to do. But you have a lunch break in a few hours. We'll all meet up to talk and eat then." Rachel proclaimed.
"I'm looking forward to it. And i gladly welcome all of you're help and suggestions. The three of you are gonna be in the wedding of course."
