Chapter 41

Hours Later

Lucas smiled at the sight of Brooke walking over to him.

When she called him and told him to wait outside for him. He knew it meant she wanted to talk.

Brooke sat down beside Lucas on the porch steps.

"There is so much for us to discuss regarding the various conversations that went on during my lunch break. With Peyton. Haley. And Rachel. I've never had real girlfriends before."

"Having the safety and freedom to just be listened too and supported was incredible."

"If only i keep this talk light but i can't. My parents are back in town. I never told you but they are actually from Tree Hill yet you would never know it because they left as soon as they could and didn't raise me here."

"They showed up at my house. They know about our engagement." "They've been keeping tabs on me for months." Brooke explained.

"You're parents. I should meet them. I mean we're engaged after all. We could have lunch or dinner. The four of us. What do you think.?" Lucas questioned.

"No! I don't want to expose you to them."

"I have no relationship with them for a reason." Brooke replied.

"Brooke. They are going to be family to me soon. And family to Nixon and Lilly as well."

"I want them to know me. For me to know them." Lucas insisted.

"Fine. But it will be a quick get together. Then you and I will start planning for our future. I'm ready to become Mrs. Scott. The sooner we plan this wedding. The sooner we can begin to build our life together." Brooke proclaimed.

Days Later

Lucas found himself seated across from Ted and Victoria Davis.

With Brooke seated beside him.

Nixon and Lilly were at school and would be home late due to the after school activities they were doing.

"I apreciate the two of you meeting me with me."

"This was last minute but it is very important that you know."

"Just how much i love Brooke and that there is nothing i wouldn't do for her and to give her anything she wants out of life."

"She's been everythig to me and my kids. I feel lucky to be loved by her." Lucas proclaimed.

"Let's just cut out the fake polite small talk. You work in a cafe."

"You have two children. And you live in some old house. You aren't what we picture or want for our daughter." Ted replied.

"I'm sure i can gain contact with Felix or Julian. Because the two of you just won't work." Victoria added in.
