"Time takes it all, whether you want it to or not. Time takes it all, time bears it away.. and in the end.. there is only darkness. Sometimes we find others in that darkness, and sometime we lose them there again." -
"Dad it's weekend. Why are you waking me up so early.?" Nixon complained as he got out of bed and put back on his sneakers. He had already gotten dressed. He then had made his way back to bed and hoped his father would lose interest in whatever this was and let him sleep.
"I'm waking you up because. It's winter break. You and Lilly will be home for two weeks. And the weather is oddly warm for December. Plus we haven't gotten the chance to have father/son bonding time since i got back from the honeymoon."
"Now let's get downstairs and have breakfast before we go." Lucas instructed.
Nixon rolled his eyes and followed his dad's lead through the hallway and down the stairs.
"My favorite Scott men. Good morning." Brooke said. With a happy grin.
"Morning wife." Lucas said. Smiling back as he kissed her. Before taking a seat at the dining room table.
"Morning mom. This looks amazing." Nixon said.
"I'm glad i have you're approval. Would you mind getting you're sister for me.?" Brooke asked.
"Sure. I'll be right back." Nixon replied. As he left the kitchen and went back up the stairs.
"Being called mom. Feels incredible. I didn'tthink it would be such a big deal. But it does change things. In a positive way." Brooke announced. Looking to her husband.
Brooke had the adoption papers drawn up from her lawyer for Nixon and Lilly. She signed it all and was just awaiting confirmation.
...
Nixon made his way through the hallway and bawled up his fist as he knocked on Lilly's bedroom door. Her bedroom right across from his.
"Lil Breakfast is ready!" Nixon called out.
"Go Away!" Lilly called out from behind the door.
Nixon went back through the hallway and went back downstairs.
"Dad let's get breakfast on the way to wherever you're taking me." He stated to his father before turning to Brooke.
He could tell from the sound of her voice and the emotion in it. That something was wrong. He didn't know the details but he knew she needed someone to talk too and that was Brooke.
"Lilly needs you." Nixon informed her.
"We'll get going. You go ahead." Lucas added in.
Brooke thanked Nixon and said goodbye to them both before rushing upstairs.
...
Brooke knocked once before entering. She closed the door behind herself.
Lilly's clothes from her closet were thrown all over the floor.
And she was taken aback by Lilly laying on her bed her face buried in the pillow as she sobbed.
The expression on Brooke's face softened. As she walked over to the bed and sat down.
"It's me honey. Lilly what's wrong.?" Brooke asked. Rubbing the girl's back with her hand.
Lilly turned and looked to Brooke. Tears falling from her eyes as she spoke.
"None of clothes fit anymore. I'm going to stuck in my PJ's forever!"
"I feel like an alien! I hate my body and i hate me!" Lilly exclaimed.
