A new chapter! Thanks for your patience, seriously. Forgive me for taking my sweet, sweet time writing this chapter.

I've been spending my summer pretty much doing nothing but studying, and playing video games.

To answer a previous review: Misaki's ability should read all memories, including our protagonist's "other" memories. However, I'm just going to make Misaki unable to do so in this fic.

I know, it's a bit too convenient and sounds lazy. However, I'm pretty stupidly bad at drama, and I just know this story will be cringe if I go down that path. I apologize for this, and I'll try to form a good explanation of why. How hard could it be? Something supernatural leaves a lot of open speculation.

Also thanks to 54832, their review seriously helped me out.

Let's get started!

"You know…" A boy's voice said, troubled. "What you are right now is probably at the very bottom of the list when I think of things you clones are going to be in the future. What on earth happened?"

This voice belonged to Kamijou Touma, or also known as the "hero". I walked along the streets with him, after coincidentally bumping into him around the corner.

"Yeah." I agreed. "Even I myself have to agree that it is irregular. However, it just sort of happened."

"Just sort of happened doesn't seem to be all that likely of an explanation though." Touma pointed out dryly.

"Yep. I'm quite confused about it myself too." I shrugged, as if I didn't know anything. I thought about my origins to this world for a little moment. When I wasn't feeling very well, Yoshikawa seemed to attempt to figure out the problem, but ended up making a little error. It was then when I got additional information about a particular peaceful world that absolutely no one would believe if I had told anyone. At least I wasn't as pained after the whole thing.

"Well… um…" Touma uttered out.

I tilted my head. "Is there something you wanted to ask me, Touma-senpai?"

The boy ended up giving me a look, silently judging me.

"What?"

"No, just… I wasn't expecting you to call me that."

"I figured 'the hero'. Would be ominous and embarrassing."

Touma sighed. "You got that right. Anyway, you tend to like manga and light novels, right?"

'Hell no' would be my answer in this world, but I had to go along with his question. "Well, I did write some light novels after all."

"What kind of characters do you find the coolest…?" He asked.

"What's this all of a sudden?" I shot back, casually of course.

"Nah, I just wanted to start a conversation of some sort as we get to your home."

'Well, my apartment is quite far away. The author probably ran out of ideas as to what should happen here.' I thought to myself, getting it spot on.

"I guess I like more of the unique characters." I answered.

"What do you mean by that?" Touma questioned.

"You know how the main character always has some sort of overwhelming ability to defeat everything that comes in their path?" I asked, thinking about the crappy manga I researched.

"Uh, yeah."

"Why though? If the protagonist in a story is actually extremely weak instead, why won't it be popular?"

"The main character would end up losing fights. Where's the fun in that?"

I laughed. "I guess you're right about that. Seriously though, take the most popular manga or Light novel series that was out before I published the series. What was it again…?"

"I was a normal esper who got reincarnated in another world but after I died I returned with a cheat power, so I decided to become a Solo magician swordsman hybrid alongside an SSS rank god." Touma took a deep breath after saying the title. I stared at him questionably.

"That's a mouthful…" It was all I could really say, but this volume somehow managed to stuff in every single keyword into its title.

"Sure is. But it's one of the most popular series out there, with 68 volumes."

"Almost reached 69, huh?"

"What?"

"Forget it. Try to picture the same power system and world, I'll attempt to make a new story in its place." I can almost predict the kind of power system the story would have.

"Sure."

"Let's take our protagonist. Hm… let's name him 'Tanaka' for now. Inside of the magic academy, he is one of the worst students there, and is constantly bullied for his lack of affinity to magic."

"That's terrible!" Touma said. "But at the start of the story, he would probably get a blessing from god, and become the strongest, right?"

I silently sulked, until I spoke. "Sure! Let's go with that. Suddenly, a mysterious woman appeared before Tanaka. This woman was a goddess, and she tells him that she would bless him with divine power."

"Yep! What's next?"

"The goddess suddenly says: 'Though I have blessed you, you don't seem to be getting any stronger. Your lack of affinity to the elements is too weak.'"

"What?" Touma said, shocked.

"Tanaka, who is obviously irritated, complains. The goddess bestows Tanaka with a curse because of his rudeness."

"That's terrible! Some goddess she is!"

"I know right? Tanaka's dream was to be the greatest mage there is, but the curse destroys magic of any kind whenever Tanaka tries. The goddess just cleaned all hope of him achieving his dream."

"…"

"Depressed, Tanaka gets bullied even more. Until a rich, spoiled student at the magician academy forcefully duels Tanaka. He just so happens to be the number one magician in the academy."

"What is Tanaka going to do? He is undeniably the weakest now."

"However as soon as Tanaka's opponent fired a flaming spear at him, something strange happened."

"What could it be?"

"Tanka also fires a flaming spear, the both spears suddenly vanish.

"Huh?"

"As it turns out, the curse not only disables Tanaka's magic, but his opponent's magic too. The fight is on! What do you think will happen next?"

"I… I'm not too sure exactly if both of the magicians are unable to cast magic, it just turns into a bare handed fight, right?"

"Yep! You see, in that… previous series we were talking about, it probably was predictable, right? The main character always wins after all. But in this story? Who knows? A fight for glory between the weakest and strongest!"

"It does get me curious as to what happened next. That's such a unique idea! Who would have known that the curse would end up working in Tanaka's favour?"

'That story still is a bit cliché in the previous world's terms though.' I thought. It was hard thinking of good stories on the spot.

"I got this idea from a certain someone." I said.

"W-who?"

I stared at Kamijou Touma, and his right hand with a smug smile.

"N-no way…" He figured it out.

"You fought Accelerator, right? Weakest level 0, vs 1st ranked level 5. Sound familiar?"

"Yeah, that was rough."

"Anyway my point is, stories should be more light and modest when it comes to their main character's ability. That way, it increases the intensity and suspense whenever they come across some sort of obstacle." I concluded.

I thought about the shows and manga that do this. Absolute classic anime and manga pull this off, like My 'Hero Academia', 'Naruto', and even 'Solo Leveling'.

Of course, some other shows do this differently. 'One punch man', 'Overlord', and 'Tensura' are prime examples of this.

"How did you get so good at writing popular novels?" Touma asked me.

There it was. It was easy to brush off this sort of question in the interview, but it would be much more difficult to answer personally.

"I'm not too sure about it myself, you know? Academy City is a place that revolves around science, so there aren't many places where art can be appreciated." I answered nonchalantly, I rested my head over my raised hands as I was walking.

"I get that progress and moving forward with our civilization is important, but it should also be as equally important as creating entertaining things to simply enjoy our lives." I added, repeating what someone told me in the past.

It was too far back in the past, in the previous world.

Some time ago…

"_, you have to get your assignment done! It's been a week overdue!" My teacher scolded me.

Of course, I had to talk back. "Ugh, who the fuck cares? This is poetry for god's sake, POETRY! How the hell would this useless crap contribute to society?"

My teacher sighed, and spoke some words that I would never forget. "Does everything we do need to contribute to society? Think about books, movies, or songs."

"What are you talking about? Of course they do! I can't be some useless bum wasting my time doing something so trivial."

"_, I get that you have a flawless grade in mathematics, and sciences, but it's far too early for you to decide what your career will be."

"Why is this any of your business? I don't care and I'm not listening!"

I stormed off, not even looking back. It sucked that the useless subjects were still mandatory for University.

Class pretty much almost ended, and I prepared to walk all the way back home. Until, I met someone on the way out.

"Hey _, do you-"

"No Kris, I do NOT want to talk about One Piece. Nor do I want to watch it in the first place."

"It's such a good show though…"

This was Kris. They were one of my classmates from back then, but we talk as often as before.

"Well, what about-"

"I don't care about Fullmetal alchemists either."

Kris slouched, and I seemed to hit the nail.

"Look, you can't just stereotype and judge everything you see by its title. You should try at least watching some sort of anime."

"Why not try watching a show that matches your hobbies?" Kris asked. "You're a science kid, so why don't you try to watch an anime like 'Dr Stone?' or maybe… 'A Certain Scientific Railgun'?"

"Is that some sort of hentai?" I asked suspiciously.

"WHY DO YOU THINK EVERYTHING IS HENTAI?!" Kris bursted out. "This is what I hate about people like you!"

"Uh, because everything IS hentai. I'm pretty sure most anime are anime that include sibling love."

"…I won't deny that, but not all anime are bad apples, no pun intended. I promise you that the show doesn't have anything weird."

"…fine." I gave in.

"You're actually not being stubborn?! Is the sun going to set in the- OW!"

I smacked Kris cleanly in the head before leaving.

Looking back on it, it was pretty embarrassing for me to become like this after everything I said.

"Welp. We're here." I spoke to Touma, proceeding forwards. He followed me reluctantly as I input the passcode to my place.

Usually, Mai Kisaragi would be waiting here. Of course, she wasn't until we finished our first series together.

"Get yourself comfy, I'll be here to… wait, why did you come here again?"

"You were going to lend me your novels, how could you forget?!" Touma shouted.

"Ah, oops." I said. I smacked my head, while sticking out my tongue. "Teehee!"

"Why do I feel like you stole someone's thing?" Touma asked me.

"I probably did." I said, scratching my hair in a nervous laugh.

"Achoo!" A blond girl sneezed lightly.

"Got a cold, Frenda?" Mugino asked.

"No…"

"Argh, what's taking Saiai so long!?" Mugino complained.

"There ya go!" I gave Touma a stack of 7 light novels, as he looked on with anticipation. "You can bring them home if you like." I added, the whole story is pretty much committed to my memory anyway.

"Ah, thanks a lot!" He replied earnestly. He took a peek at the first volume, to calm his curiosity, if only a little.

As I watched Touma's eyes get to work, I saw the door budge out of the corner of my eye.

"Pardon the intrusion!" A familiar voice said.

Touma and I jerked our heads to see my original at the door, along with another familiar girl to our surprise. The girl seemed to look like Kinuhata Saiai, a member of ITEM. I should probably pretend I don't know who she is for now.

'I swore I locked the door…' I thought to myself.

"W-why are you here?!" Mikoto nearly shouted. I had a feeling that would be the first thing she said after inviting herself in.

"Your…" Touma briefly looked at the girl with short brown hair. "...sister is doing me a favor. Is there a reason why I can't be here?"

Before Mikoto forces Touma to use his right hand, I had to somehow clear up Touma's very misleading words.

"I'm just helping him, nothing more. He helped me quite a bit one time anyway." I responded seriously. I couldn't afford to make a joke at a time like this.

"Wait, so this is your younger sister?" The girl in a knitted sweater walked up to me and leaned forward to my face. "You guys are super identical."

'We're clones after all.'

"Y-yeah. I got that a lot."

"Anyway, your sister is lending me some light novels of hers." Touma explained. "What are you doing here?"

"E-eh!?" Mikoto stepped back, in surprise. A familiar pink tint appeared on her cheek as she looked away. "It REALLY had nothing to do with you, okay? I was just…"

My older sister's frantic explanations made it pretty clear about her feelings for Touma right now. Any more and a member of ITEM would be able to get a hold of this surprising fact. I wondered just how bad the situation could be. Worst case scenario, Touma might end up a target because the third ranked and fourth ranked espers had some beef together.

'But Touma wouldn't really be in danger would he?' I thought. It was pretty safe to say that Touma would be able to handle all the ITEM members because of his right hand and plot armor.

I had a select few choices to do here. I could be myself and tease Mikoto, but it could give Kinuhata some ideas. I also had the choice to get straight to the point and defuse the situation. All and all, I had a hard time deciding what to do. It seriously felt like I was playing a dating simulator without the ability to save.

In the end, I decided it would probably be best to change the subject. "Anyway, I'm Misaka Miyano. If you didn't know, this guy here is Kamijou Touma."

'Also the boy Mikoto has a crush on…' I spoke in my head. "What's your name?" I said instead.

"Kinuhata Saiai. I'm not beating around the bush here, you're the author of 'Steins;Gate' right?"

I felt a little embarrassed. I never thought I would see a (former) fictional character speak of another fictional story. "I suppose that would be me."

Kinuhata's face remained calm, probably because Mikoto told her already about my identity. "Can you get me four copies of your newest volume? I can pay double, price isn't an issue."

'Oi, you could easily be getting 5 instead! Are you forgetting about Hamazura!?'

"Onee-chan…"

"Y-yes!?" Mikoto suddenly straightened up, as if she was a soldier in the military.

"Uh, you don't need to talk to me like that…"

"Yes!" Mikoto said, without change.

"Please refrain from telling other people about who I am. I'd appreciate it if I didn't get overwhelmed with people."

"Ah yeah, sorry about that. I could get you a much nicer apartment than this one you know? Your older sister is a lot richer than you think!"

"Miyano might be richer than you if she keeps selling books like this…" Touma almost whispered under his breath.

I glanced at Kinuhata, who seemed to twindle her fingers around. It was hard to believe she was a girl associated with the dark side.

"I'm sorry, I don't have any copies with me right now." I bowed lightly. I knew I didn't have to apologize, but I still felt bad.

"N-no way…" Kinuhata muttered. "Don't you have at least one copy!?"

I began to say that I don't, but I suddenly had an idea. "Well… I actually have a digital copy in my computer right now, it just isn't printed yet. I'm not too familiar with the technology here besides writing documents, but it should be simple for you to send it over to your device wirelessly, right?"

Kinuhata's face lit up with her mouth opening like a little child. "YES! I can do it! I have miles of experience!" She was about to go up to my desk to use my laptop, but I stopped her with my index finger. I didn't touch her of course, her ability was far too scary for me to attempt something like that.

"However… can you promise me that you won't go printing your own copies of the book with this data I'm about to give you?"

"I-I…" Kinuhata was at a loss for words. "I can promise you, but I'm not sure about my friends."

"I can go and electrocute them if they ever decide to put you out of business!" Mikoto said, pumping her fist.

"Yeah, no." I spoke. "Let's not resort to violence here."

"How about this?" I said to Kinuhata, with an idea in mind. "I'll get you a full subscription on all the upcoming novels to Steins;Gate, and I'll send your device all the books ahead of the release date. However, if you or your friends break the promise, all of that is getting revoked."

"R-really!?" Kinuhata spoke in awe. Her eyes were twinkling so much that I almost thought Mental-Out was mind controlling her.

"Yep! Your friends seem to be the type that follow the most logical choices. So if you tell this to them, I think they can promise that too."

This is exactly like the prisoner's dilemma. Though both parties cooperating seems like the best outcome, cooperating isn't that best choice if you only weigh the benefits and problems on yourself. Mugino, Frenda and the others would probably follow through with the promise because my offer is more valuable than what they stand to gain from copying my novel.

"Yes, I'll make sure they follow through with their promises." Kinuhata said firmly, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed her clenching her fist. The more I think about the ability Offensive armor, the scarier it becomes in my head. 'Is she seriously going to end up threatening the leader of ITEM, or Meltdowner!?' I thought to myself.

I had a feeling I was playing with fire here, so I quickly let Kinuhata use my computer. "Here, this is the full document. Don't mess with it, okay!?"

"Yes!"

"SUPER THANK YOU!" Kinuhata almost screamed, taking me aback by surprise.

"I assume it's done?" I asked.

"Yes, I seriously can't thank you enough. I'm also a super massive fan of yours!"

I scratched my head, embarrassed. This might seriously get into my head soon.

Kinuhata scrolled through her phone, as it appears that the data has been transferred there.

A sudden dead silence envelopes the room. I expected Touma and Kinuhata to be leaving by now but…

"Why are you still here?" I asked calmly, however I didn't get a response from either of them.

They were both reading intently, with Touma flipping the pages through a physical light novel, and Kinuhata sliding her little finger upwards in her little phone.

"Is this really the time to be reading!?" I protested. At this rate, they might end up being here for ages!

I could only do one thing. "Onee-chan, talk some sense into them please!" Mikoto wasn't the best social person in front of her crush, but desperate times call for desperate measures…!

However, Mikoto was behind Kinuhata, eyes glued onto her cell phone.

"YOU TOO!?" I shouted, losing all hope. "Why can't you go read outside or something!?"

"I peeked a little, and now my eyes are super glued to the screen!" Kinuhata cried, continuing to read.

"Sniff- I only read the first few chapters, and I can't stop crying. Just a few more chapters and I'll be gone I swear!" Touma begged with tears rolling down his cheek.

"Miyano, your novels are seriously terrifying." Mikoto said, her eyes still taking in the information within Kinuhata's phone.

"What the heck are you talking about!? They're only novels!"

"I'm super surprised you were able to keep up with my reading." Kinuhata said, shutting off her phone.

"Of course! I'm quite fast at picking up information." Mikoto replied back.

"Are you two done yet?" I deadpanned. Fortunately, nothing too serious happened, with the exception of Kinuhata's phone running out of battery. I really didn't think Mikoto would use her ability as petty and small as recharging a phone.

My gaze shifted over to Touma, who hasn't finished the 1st volume yet. He was significantly slower than the girls, and he still appears to have a tear-ridden face.

"Well? What do you think of it?" I asked the two girls to pass the time. "Actually, I'm wondering who your favorite character is."

""Makise Kurisu."" They both said at the same time. That was interesting, they both liked the red haired scientist. Otherwise known as Lab Member 004 or "Christina."

"I see you're a super sensible person as well." Kinuhata spoke confidently, as if it was as expected that Makise Kurisu was the best character.

"Of course I am. I find her all too relatable…" Mikoto spoke darkly, looking down at her chest. I glanced at Kinuhata's chest, and quickly latched onto why they both liked the same character.

It was fortunate that Touma was busy reading to notice what was happening.

I finally sigh one time.

"Alright, seriously. You have to get out of my-"

"DRING RING RING!" It was just my phone.

I picked up the phone normally, silencing everyone in the room with me. "Hello?"

"Ayaka!" The voice on the other line spoke, panicked. It was Yoshikawa.

"W-what?" I felt the urgency in her voice.

"You and your novels are being sued!"

My heart dropped.

'What?'

Gonna have to end it here, the full document is WAY too long lmao. Sorry!
