*July 5th, 2553

*Evelyn's birthday

I looked at the icecream cake on the table. It was blue with oreos sprinkled on top and 15 candles. Entirely decorated in frosting snowflakes.

The candles illuminated the room and dad was next to me recording with his phone and waiting for me to blow them all out.

"Happy birthday Evelyn. Go ahead and blow them out baby."

I laughed a bit before I blew them out the candles. Dad clapped as he went to get a knife to cut the cake and set our slices on the table.

"What did you wish for?"

I paused as I was going to take a bite to answer.

"My friends."

My dad sighed as he sat down in his chair.

"Evelyn-"

He stopped as we heard knocking. I sat up to go answer the door and when I did Eevee and Sylveon were behind it.

"Happy birthday Evelyn!"

I stood in the doorway in shock to see Eevee and Sylveon carrying presents.

"May we come in?"

My feet moved not caring to stop myself and I pulled them both into a hug.

"You didn't have to come here with presents guys. Just you being here is enough for me."

"Aww Evelyn."

Eevee said as she hugged back and Sylveon with his ribbons. We stood there for a while before I let them inside.

"Hello again, Mr Flareon."

"So glad you guys could make it. I know Evelyn wanted to see you two so I'm happy you came to surprise her."

"You invited them dad?"

"Of course I did. I just wanted to see my little girl smile again."

I giggled and ran to give my dad a hug. It was that kind of day. That's as affectionate as I was going to get.

We watched movies together while dad stepped out to buy us pizza. I opened the presents they brought for me.

Some training weights, arm bands, a new videogame, Fighters magazine #18th edition, and...

"A bean bag chair?"

"Just wait till you sit on it."

I set it down on the floor and as soon as I sat in it I sank.

"Hahaha is it comfy?"

"Oh my Arceus it actually is!"

I said as I poked my head out and sank into it with a sigh of relief.

"So you three have finally made up? Great!"

We all looked up in surprise to hear an unfamiliar voice speak.

"Whose there?!"

We looked around trying to see where the voice was coming from but nothing. I stood ready to fight and so was Sylveon and Eevee.

An orb of light appeared above us and it was blinding.

"Augh so bright!"

I covered my eyes and Eevee and Sylveon covered each others. A small cat like form appeared within the light. And it was laughing.

"What are you?"

"Me? I am..."

The light around it faded to reveal a pink cat with a long tail and bright blue eyes. She spoke without moving her lips and made gestures with her tiny paws.

"I am Mew."

We all flinched back in surprise when she said her name.

"Wha- Mew?!"

"Yes."

"Mew?! The Angel of Love and the Afterlife?! And Mother to all pokemon?!"

"I say you are a very smart young Eevee. I like you."

She said as she flew towards Eevee and held her. Much to the dismay of Sylveon.

"Hey! I-I mean no disrespect to you, your heaveness. But please don't touch her."

"I know all too well how protective you are of her. I won't harm her. You two make such a beautiful couple anyways as two other pokemon I once knew."

She said as she set her down and hugged Sylveon and then me.

We're only being embraced by a heavenly being. No big deal.

"So what are you doing here Angel-"

"Please no need to be so formal. You may all call me Mew."

"Okay...Mew. What are you doing here on Earth and not in Heaven?"

"Well long story short. I was sent here to live on Earth by Arceus's command. To train the champions chosen by fate for the Gods Tournament in 5 years time."

"Yes we figured that. But why are you here?"

"Haven't you three guessed it? You are the Champions."

We all sat there in stunned silence. This all seemed too good to be true.

"Evelyn!"

Mew turned at my dad's voice and turned invisible in front of us. Well except for her eyes and she kept her back turned from the doorway so dad couldn't see her.

"Here's the pizza! Dig in guys!"

"Thanks dad."

I said as I accepted the boxes and set them down on the coffee table.

"Let me know if you guys need anything else."

"Yeah thank you dad."

My dad smiled before leaving to his office. Once he was gone we all turned to see if Mew was still here.

She had already left.

We opened the first pizza box to see one slice missing and a note left behind.

We opened it up and it read.

"All three of you along with that other friend of yours meet me at the abandoned Team Rocket Basketball Stadium tommorrow. Bring only yourselves. Thank you for the pizza."

Eevee pulled out her phone and started texting Ryu while me and Sylveon sat there speechless.

Well that happenned. Now what?
