I got out of the car with Sylveon and we walked into the nature trail from months before.

I was Lv 14 now my birthday passed a month ago. Sylveon celebrated it with me with a single cupcake and a candle. When the war was going on it was difficult for food, so getting a cake was out of the question, but I appreciated it nonetheless.

His birthday was just five days ago and luckily we didn't have to celebrate it at a hospital. We were discharged a week ago and I surprised him with a cake like last year.

His mom Vylena was oddly more welcoming than ever before. Something in her changed because now she was more involved with our lives like family.

My little brother didn't understand that I was hurt and was mostly confused. But he was still my cute little bean.

My mother was supportive as usual but my father was another story. He was mad at Sylveon for letting me get in harm's way in the first place.

It didn't matter that Sylveon went after me, he could have prevented it and keep me safe. If he really cared about me he wouldn't have let it happen. I defended him saying there was no way he could have prevented my actions it was all on me.

Besides if that was true where was he, my father, to prevent this happening as well? He said nothing to that but was still glaring at Sylveon.

If he's mad at him for that, I don't care. My boyfriend is a hero like me.

The news stations got a hold of the footage on November 25th and our lives were changing drastically. The nation wanted to award us medals for our bravery and vigilance in fighting against Kalos's worst enemy.

The footage of Mew and Mewtwo was not there of course courtesy of them.

I gotten messages from them saying they had to lay low for a few months. Heaven wasn't upset with them, but more was being demanded in compensation for this tragedy. No words on training so they're probably letting us take it easy for now.

Evelyn and Ryu were still recovering at his family's clinic. We visited them and they were looking better than before. Long road of recovery for Ryu for his wounds were severe.

School was closed until February for some repairs. Excluding colleges.

Sylveon managed to catch up after missing two weeks of school work. He also told me he had been offered a modeling job in about a week and he was considering it. Financially he was not doing so well and this job would help him out tremendously.

It would just take up more of his free time.

My family's shop was given more revenue than ever before so I guess it was to be expected now that we were famous.

Me and Sylveon came here just to get away from it all for a bit. We kept making glances at each other as we held paws and walked out to the same picnic on the cliff side. I smiled as the memories came back and sat down on the blanket.

I barely sat down when he pulled out a cake from the basket and held it out to me.

"Happy belated birthday Eve!"

"Oh wow. Thank you."

I was amazed at all the sparkler candles placed on top. When they're all lit it will be so pretty.

"How much did this cost? This hadn't to have been cheap."

"Everyone pitched in. Me and my mother. Your parents. Ryu and his parents. Even Evelyn and her dad."

"Aww you didn't have to do all that for me. I was happy with the cupcake babe."

"I know. I just wanted to make up for...considering everything that has happened. An apology for not doing more for you. And to get my girlfriend an amazing cake like she gave to me."

I guess my dad's words hurt him more than I thought. Honestly they hurt me too and it put a strain on my relationship with my dad.

I was so touched by all of this I just giggled happily and gave my boyfriend a kiss. It must have been a good one because he nearly dropped the cake.

"Oh sorry!"

"It's fine. Before we celebrate Christmas and my second birthday apparently. I want to talk to you for a bit first."

"Oh sure Eve. What's up?"

"Put the cake down and walk with me over there."

"Oh okay."

He set the cake down carefully and stood up to help me get up.

One of my arms is broken.

We walked closer to the sea cliff holding each other's paws.

"I didn't mention how much I love you in your dress. You look beautiful."

"Thank you. This winter had been oddly warm. It only snowed yesterday and even now it's starting to melt."

We stepped in melting snow feeling cold on our padded feet.

We Pokémon don't wear shoes.

Felt like 60o but the weather wasn't going down, so it was warm enough for a dress.

We looked down at the sea below and it looked beautiful in the late sunset. Sylveon smiled at me and gently caressed my face making me blush. He stopped when he remembered I wanted to talk though.

"So what did you want to talk about?"

"I was scared."

"About what?"

His gripped tightened on my paw ever so slightly. He didn't want me to ever be scared again.

"A month ago I thought I was going to lose you. When I saw Rial attack you, and you were on the ground, I didn't think of anything else but protecting you. Nothing worse than losing you than being apart from you."

I sniffled a bit as I looked up at Sylveon who had a soft but haunted expression on his face. He had a sad faraway look on his eyes and he look like he wanted to tear up a bit as well.

"I was terrified for your safety as well. When I heard your screaming I thought I lost you. I thought I lost my Eve."

"Sylveon."

"I thought of you the whole fight. I fought for you so I could get us the hell out of there. When I was down I was terrified because I thought I would never be with you again. And now that we're here together there's no one else I'd rather be with. I love you Eevee."

I faced him as he bent down and kissed me. We pulled apart and he had such an intense look on his eyes. A desperation and vulnerability unlike anything I'd ever seen before. I placed my paws on his cheeks and looked him in the eye.

"Sylveon. The reason I brought that up is I want to make a promise with you."

"Alright what is it?"

"Let's make a promise to never stop checking in with each other no matter how busy we might get. To always never go into battle again unless it's with each other. And most importantly to never stop telling each other how much we love each other. Can you promise me that?"

"I can baby. But you promise me you can follow through with the second one? Because you've gone without me in the past and scared me half to death in the process. And I want to fight with you from now on. I don't want to lose you."

He nearly started crying and I felt bad for all the times I reckless charged into battle. I held his cheeks still and forced him to keep facing me.

"I know. That's why I'm promising to never go into battle without you ever again. It's important because I want to assure you I'll never do anything like that again. And not scare you as much as I scared myself. I swear I won't break this part of the promise. I swear it from the bottom of heart."

He looked at me uncertainly but looked like he believed me. I felt grateful on the inside because I want my boyfriend to trust me.

"Okay. Seal it with a kiss?"

"Of course baby."

I laughed as he picked me up and with my good paw I held him close and kissed my boyfriend. Sylveon supported my weight easily and his face felt warmer.

We pulled apart and I smiled as he was thinking the same thing I was.

"Another kiss?"

"Yes..."

"Alright! Alright! We get it you two! You're in love! Tone the display of affections!"

We both flushed as Evelyn arrived pushing Ryu in a wheelchair. Evelyn wasn't wearing a neck brace anymore but still had a heavy gauze around her neck.

Ryu had less bandages but his doctor told him to limit his movements so he's just been in a wheelchair.

Sylveon set me down blushing just as red as I was.

"How did you guys find us?"

"Jynxbook. Besides it's been a while since we all hung out together."

We all sat down on the picnic blanket eager to push away some of the awkwardness.

"I missed hanging out with you guys. I can't believe we got separated by something so stupid. I'm sorry everyone."

Oh. Well Evelyn broke it. What do you know? And she apologized too?

"Well at least we're past it now bestie. Guys?"

I looked at everyone and they all nodded in agreement. I held out my paw and they all placed their paws on top of mine.

"Stick together always and talk about disagreements from now on?"

"Agreed."

They all said simultaneously and we all laughed as we went into a group hug.

"Time to blow out the cake!"

We laughed some more as Sylveon brought out the cake and lit it with a lighter. I made a quick wish and blew them all out at once.

My wish is to peruse everything with my boyfriend and my friends from now on, and less trips to the hospital.

My friends all clapped and I smiled back and gave a light peck to Sylveon. I barely caught a glimpse of Evelyn reaching out to hold paws with Ryu.

"Ooooooohhh!! Are you two a couple now?!"

They both flushed red and pulled apart immediately. Me and Sylveon smiled smugly back them.

"No! We're not dating! We just like each other that's all!"

"Surrrrreeeeee."

We both laughed as they both looked away and then looked back and then looked away from each other.

"Merry Christmas babe. Here."

I turned to Sylveon who held out a small box to me.

"Aww thanks baby. I have one for you too."

I pulled mine out and we switched them with each other. I tricked him and pulled him for another kiss.

Show an uncertain couple how affection is really done. I think we nailed it because I feel their jealous glares in my direction.

We all ate linner together and had a great time.

Like we always could have.
