Being accepted into college was a huge deal for Elena. She'd finally have a way to be productive in her life.

Of course, without Elena knowing, Caroline had applied to the same college, and was also accepted. She arranged for her and Elena to share a dorm, if she allowed one random girl to share the dorm as well.

Placing their boxes full of stuff down in their new dorm, which was huge, Caroline picked the bed closest to the fireplace, unable to hold in her excitement.

"This place is huge!" Caroline cheered as someone knocked on the door.

Opening the door, Elena saw a random girl standing in the doorway with a box in her hand.

"Hi. I'm your new roommate, Katie." She smiled, walking inside. She chose the bed across from Caroline.

"Well, hi Katie. I'm Elena and this is Caroline." Elena smiled, shaking Katie's hand.

"I can't believe I got into this college. I thought my parents history as vampire hunters would damage my chances of being accepted!" Katie sighed in relief, causing Elena and Caroline to panic.

"Anyway. I'm going to go and explore the campus. I'll be back in an hour." She smiled, leaving the room.

"Well, this is absolutely horrifying!" Caroline started to worry.

Just as Caroline started pacing, Elena's phone rang. It was Damon. Clicking the answer button, Elena sat down. She put the call on speaker phone so Caroline could also talk.

"How's the first day of college going for my beautiful girlfriend and her blonde bombshell of a friend?" Damon asked.

"It was going fine until about 2 minutes ago." Caroline declared.

"What happened?" Damon asked, confused.

"Our roommate is a vampire hunter. Well, she might not be, but her parents are." Elena explained, Caroline still freaking out.

"Is Caroline still freaking out?" Damon asked, trying not to laugh.

"Yes. Yes she is." Elena smiled.

"I have a right to be freaked out! You're not a vampire anymore Elena, meaning you can become friends with our new roommate and not have to worry about her walking in on you feeding!" Caroline sat on her bed.

"Okay, first off, since I am no longer a vampire, and our roommate isn't a vampire, there will be no feeding in our dorm room!" Elena objected to Caroline's panic.

"What about blood bags?" Caroline asked, worried.

"Did you bring your own personalised mini-fridge?" Elena questioned.

"Yes." Caroline smiled.

"Problem solved. As long as Katie doesn't go into your mini-fridge, your vampire secret should remain a secret." Elena reassured Caroline.

"Well, seems like everything is going just fine for you two over there, so I'll leave you two to debate more dorm room adventures." Damon spoke as Elena took the call off speaker.

"Love you Elena." Damon whispered.

"Love you too Damon." Elena whispered back before she ended the call.

"What are we going to do? With a possible vampire hunter for a roommate, I'm going to slip up, I'm sure of it." Caroline face-planted onto her bed, feeling defeated.

"Caroline, you've managed nearly 2 years of being a vampire. Yes, you slipped up in the beginning, but over time, you've managed to successfully keep your secret." Elena reassured Caroline.

"I wonder what she's Vervained." Caroline searched Katie's stuff, interested.

"Oh, by the way, I'm going to start wearing Stefan's necklace again, as it's got Vervain in it." Elena removed the necklace from it's box, putting it around her neck.

"Caroline! Stop searching Katie's stuff! We can ask her when she gets back." Elena moved Caroline away from Katie's side of the dorm room.

"Do you think our roommate selection was actually random?" Caroline asked, confused.

"It had to be. It's not like you or me requested a special roommate." Elena had a point, and Caroline knew that.

"But a possible vampire hunter? How random could that actually be? I mean, that seems pretty intentional." Caroline was worried.

"Okay, let's pretend that the roommate selection was somehow rigged. Who would do that to us?" Elena asked, Caroline giving her a look of realisation.

"Katherine..." Caroline suggested.

"That seems like a Katherine move, but she didn't know that I was going to college. She couldn't have known." Elena acknowledged Caroline's thought.

"Well, if it was Katherine, she's managed to screw us over before we've even begun. I thought that maybe she'd somehow mess with our schedules or maybe our classes, but not our freaking roommate!" Caroline was now very pissed off.
