THIS IS AN ALTERNATIVE ENDING!

Anakin stood, watching the lava rivers flow through the planet and the machinery do its work as he went over what he had just done in his head, what he was becoming. A tear had fallen down his cheek and the sheer pain he was causing, all for his family. As much as he hated the dark side and as much as he was fighting it, a part of him was letting it take control and it wouldn't be long now until he was gone for sure.

It was only a moment later that he saw a ship appear into the atmosphere and land on the landing dock where he had. Sensing it was Padme he dropped his hood and instantly ran to her. Grabbing her in his arms tightly, their reunion was so bittersweet.

"What are you doing out here?" Anakin asked her, confused and concerned.

"I was so worried about you." She said honestly.

"Where are the children?" He asked simply, holding onto her hips.

"They're safe." She said softly. "Anakin, don't do this. You're a good person." She told him.

"This is the only way to save you, Padme. To keep you and the twins safe." He said simply.

"But at what cost? Anakin, this isn't you." Padme begged him, she could feel that he was slipping away from her.

"I can't lose you Padme, I can't lose Leia or Luke. Not the way I lost my mother." He said simply. "If this is what I have to do, then so be it." He added. Padme swallowed hard and looked at him. "I have missed this feeling, Padme. This power. I am becoming more powerful than any Jedi has ever dreamed of and I'm doing it for you." He said with a slight smirk. "To protect you. All of you."

Padme began breathing heavier, knowing she was losing her husband. Moving her hands to his hair she swallowed hard. "Come away with me. To Naboo, where we'll raise our children." She said softly. "Leave everything else behind whilst we still can." She begged him.

Anakin clenched his jaw and looked at her, holding her hips protectively. "I have to keep you safe Padme." He whispered out. "I can't lose you."

"You're not going to lose me, Anakin. Not me or the children." She whispered, moving her hand to his cheek. "There are other ways to keep us safe. Are you not the chosen one?!" She asked him, knowing about the prophecy.

Anakin debated slightly, she could tell he was so conflicted. "Luke needs a father figure in his life. Leia needs the man she has grown up with, the only person she knows and loves. She cannot be without you. I need you, I cannot be without you either." Padme added once more. Anakin sighed and moved his forehead to hers and closed his eyes slightly. Breathing in her scent and moving his hand to the back of her head. "Return to the children, Padme." He whispered out. "I know what I must do." He whispered once more.

Padme just looked up at him and swallowed hard. "Please come home to us, Ani." She begged, before he gave her a reassuring look. "I promised you, I will find you again." he said softly, kissing her deeply before going to his own ship.

"Lord Vader. You have done well my young apprentice." Sidious said with a smirk.

Anakin looked at him and clenched his jaw. "If it ensures my family's safety, then I will do what I must." He said simply.

"Of course." Sidious added.

"But there is just one problem, my master." Anakin added again. Sidious arched his brow and looked at him. "It does not ensure my family's safety, does it?!" he asked, a little angry.

Sidious paused for a moment. "Kill me and your family's life will be at great risk." He said simply, angry.

"I will not let you harm them." He spat, pacing slightly.

"You are no match for the power in me. No match for the power of the dark side." Sidious spat once more, before firing his force lightning at Anakin who managed to block it with his lightsaber.

"And you are no match for me. I am the chosen one and you will lose." Anakin told him, as he grunted at the sheer power of Sidious.

The pair fought it out and it was a brutal fight, Anakin almost died a number of times before he finally became the victor. Killing Palpatine was as satisfying as he had imagined it to be and he was glad it was all finally over. Fighting off anyone who got in his way as he fled, he made sure the imperial ship was destroyed and those around it before going anywhere.

The sith was destroyed and the galaxy was finally at peace.

Returning to Tatooine where he knew Padme and the children were hiding, he let out a breath seeing Leia.

"DADDY!" She screamed in excitement before charging towards him. Anakin smiled so big and lifted her up in his arms. "Oh my girl." He whispered in relief, kissing on her cheeks multiple times. "My girl." He whispered again. Feeling all of the good rush back into him, Leia was his good. He was so grateful to have her back in his arms. Looking up, he saw Padme and Luke walking towards him and he smiled so big. Moving his free arm around Padme before kissing her deeply and then on her head. Breathing in his girls was the most amazing feeling. "Ani…this is your son, Luke." Padme said softly, introducing Luke. Anakin smiled big, dropping to his knees slightly to be on Luke's level.

"Hello Luke." He smiled, "I have been dreaming of this moment since the day you were born." he smiled. Luke just smiled big too and hugged him tightly. Anakin was so in love with his family.

1 year later - Naboo

"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday Luke and Leia, happy birthday to you." The family sang to the twins on their 6th birthday. Padme's parents, sister and nieces were there. Owen and Beru were there as was Obi-Wan. The twins were so happy that the family were back together and could be an actual family.

Padme worked in the senate on Naboo and Anakin worked as the Queen's head guard, everything was working out so well.

"Blow out the candles." Padme said softly, leaning in to Anakin as they watched their happy 6 year olds enjoy their cake and birthday. Anakin smiled softly, kissing the side of her head and rubbing her 6 months baby bump, ready for their third child in the coming months.

That evening, when the children were in bed, Anakin found Padme on the balcony of their home. Watching over Naboo and its beautiful night sky, the breeze flowing through her long brown hair. Anakin smiled softly, leaning against the door frame with a smile.

"You're so beautiful." He whispered out. He was in awe of her.

"It's only because I'm so in love." She smiled, softly turning to face him slightly.

"No, it's because I'm so in love with you."

"So love has blinded you?" She teased, causing him to laugh slightly.

"That's not quite what I meant." He teased back.

"But it's probably true." She said with a smile, before Anakin walked up to her. Moving his hands to her hips and kissing her forehead softly, before the pair watched over the night sky.
