"What is wrong with you?" Caitlin reprimanded Barry angrily. "Do you realize how reckless that was? You could have died!"
"What's wrong with me? What are you talking about? I saved your life Cait, what did you expect me to do?"
"Well I expected you to have at least an ounce of practicality and logic!"
"I was being logical!"
"Guys?" Cisco attempted, to no prevail, to interrupt the shouting match.
"Barry, you have super speed, it means that your powers are all based around heat. Cold counter-acts that, that is why your main weakness is Cold. You know this! And yet you still ran completely blind into Earth-3 Captain Cold's trap!"
"You were about to die, I did what I had to do to save you!"
"I am not worth you running head long into almost certain death!" Caitlin's arms raised in exasperation and she stormed out of the cortex, heals clicking lightly as she trooped down the hall.
"Well, that was tense." Cisco commented awkwardly. He had been twirling a licorice rope between his teeth throughout the whole of the incursion, he now pointed it at the unhinged Barry. "You did kinda run into that wear-house without looking."
"Don't you start too Cisco." Barry returned, "I had to hurry, there literally wasn't a second to spare."
"Yeah, that's true. So, what are you going to do about Caitlin?"
"I dunno man." Barry slumped down in a chair near his displayed suit. "Hopefully she cools down and understands what I had to do."
"Barry, you need to work this out, tension is a vast impediment for the future." Cisco advised in a very mentor-like wisdom voice.
"Heh, yeah." Barry looked down and held his head up with his fist.
Cisco stood from his seat and began sorting different things on the desk. He walked out of the main room for a moment, then returned and shuffled a few papers into a folder.
"If you wanna know what I think," He broke the silence again, "you should go talk to her."
"Yeah, I know. Thanks man."
"Sure thing, you know, I'm the ultimate wing man!" Cisco's voice raised as he back stepped out of the cortex, leaving Barry alone with his thoughts.
"Talk to her, yeah, talk to her." Barry repeated to himself. He stood to go find Caitlin, hopefully straighten things out without another yelling match.
