once again I don't own Harry Potter or Jurassic world/park as they belong to J.K Rowling and Universal and I have to say big thanks for The Broken Mask for helping for the editing.
Hidden away in the Scottish Highlands was Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, home to many witches and wizards of many ages, abilities and backgrounds. Inside the school was a particular room, one that contained many portraits of previous Headmasters and Headmistresses of the school - which were all alive, the figures of the old staff members moving around as if they were alive.
Also in that room was the current Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, fresh from his meeting with Mrs Figg and frowning as he looked over papers and pictures, deciding who he was going to pass the child into the care of and making sure he had everything he needed when he went to meet them. Lily had scarified herself for this child after all, and it was his duty to care for him.
"Well, Fawkes, are you ready to take me to see them?" Dumbledore asked, looking over to a nearby perch where a firey red phoenix was sat.
The phoenix trilled a happy tune back to him before taking off from his perch, soaring in circles up to the very top of the office as Dumbledore raised a hand up to him. Fawkes dived down at high speed, speeding towards Dumbledore's outstretched hand, but as soon as they made contact, the pair disappeared in a burst of flames.
Dumbledore and Fawkes appeared in a small burst of flames in a building that seemed to be falling apart, Dumbledore frowning and checking the schedule he had written down on the piece of paper in his hand. This was where he had met John Hammond when he was first trying to start up his Dinosaur Park, but if this building was like the rest of the park, he had doubts about his choice.
"Ah, I thought you would be here, Ablus Dumbledore!" An aged and wise voice spoke up from behind him.
"It has been some time, has it not, Henry?" Dumbledore said, seeing the two men stood behind him and holding several letters. "And you must be Mister Owen Grady."
"I guess this must be to do with our mutual cousin and her son." Owen Grady said, his blue eyes trained on the strange looking man and the bright red bird in front of him.
"It is." Dumbledore said with a heavy sigh. "As his former magical guardian, I placed young Harry with his mother's sister Petunia as his closest relative. However, it would seem that Petunia took her jealousy over Lily and her magical abilities on young Harry, and her husband and their son have been no kinder to him. They have been dreadful to him. If I knew what would happen to him when I placed him on that doorstep, I would have contacted you both much sooner."
"I could have told you that they would treat him like that." Henry said, shaking his head. "I rarely saw them and even I knew that Petunia was incredibly petty and incredibly jealous of Lily and of the magical world. I myself do not mind the magical world, it has given me plenty of opportunity and perspective as a scientist on what is right and wrong, but I have always been busy with the dinosaurs. If you place Harry here, I will spend all the time I can with him and teach him everything I have been taught from both world."
"I will find all the time I can to take care of him as well, just like I care for those velociraptors." Owen said, but there was a flash of vengeance in his eyes. "And I'll show those people exactly what would happen if they ever came to this island."
"Ah, so you are the one who works with John Hammond's favourite creation?" Dumbledore asked, remembering how often John spoke about the velociraptors.
"You met John Hammond?" Owen responded, not entirely surprised that the ancient looking man stood in front of him had actually met the creator of the park. "That is me. We have a pack of four currently that I train, Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo."
"Indeed I did, Owen, indeed I did." Dumbledore said, smiling a little as he remembered his friend. "He was a very bright man and very motivated, driven to achieve what he managed to accomplish on this island. However, may I ask you two a question?"
"What is it?" Both Henry and Owen asked at the exact same time.
"Who will be able to look after Harry alongside their job here?" Dumbledore asked. "He is only seven years old and you are the only relatives I have been able to establish contact with, with his godfather being locked away, but I fear that you will not be able to manage it with your careers here."
"I can be flexible with Harry." Owen said quickly, looking to Henry who just nodded. "I will not let him live the same life that he lived with them. I handraised those velociraptors from birth, so I will be able to take care of him as well as them. I'll raise him like my parents raised me."
"I will make what time I can for him, but Owen is correct that he will be able to take care of Harry the most. My role as Head Scientist here keeps me very busy, especially with everything we are working on the moment, but I will visit and care for Harry when I can." Henry said. "Owen is the better choice to be his main guardian."
"I understand, gentlemen. I will return later this week with Harry with some friends of Harry's parents, but for now he is being fostered by an old friend of mine." Dumbledore told them both before looking to Owen specifically. "Where shall I meet you when I bring Harry and the others?"
"My home, which I assume you know where it is because you can read minds." Owen said, shaking his head as a momentarily feeling of lightheadedness came over him.
"Yes, I do." Dumbledore said, resisting the urge to correct Owen over the use of the term mind reading when he referred to Legilimency. "Good day, gentlemen."
With that, Dumbledore disappeared in front of the two men just as effortlessly as he had appeared, leaving Henry and Owen to their own thoughts.
"I can never get used to that." Henry finally said after several moments of silence. "I have told some of the scientists here of the Wizarding World, some of them have even been in it, but I hope you will not raise him in quite the same way that you raised the velociraptors. He is a human child after all."
"We'll have to wait and see, Wu." Owen said, which didn't make Henry feel very confident at all. "Perhaps he will even grow to see The Pack as siblings as well. It would be better if there was some kind of mother figure that could take care of him more regularly than us, but we'll make it."
The two men continued their conversation as they walked away from the crumbling building, heading towards the main section of Jurassic World.
