Ripping paper out of a notebook was something else that had bothered Mifuyu. She wasn't quite sure why but it had always stemmed from childhood of some kind. Burying or resolving issues within oneself took a lot of time and effort. The many things she had to endure as a child, even the littlest of little, were buried.

Mifuyu pins up the pieces of small notebook paper up on her pinboard of potential clues and stares at it, crossing her arms. There were no leads just yet but ruling out the tiny window as an escape route was at least progress. The culprit must have come from outside the school and most likely either knew the two boys or it was the wrong place and wrong time type of situation.

No weapon was found at the scene of the crime, the authorities already doing that for her. Upon her, further investigation into the basement said enough. It was clearly made to look like an animal had done this but no wolf of some kind could just walk among the school hallways; pick out random students, lure them down in a basement and suck them dry. Students wouldn't dare talk about the incident. Some whispers here and there...they all say the same thing.

What if it's a vampire?

Poor tasting joke, Mifuyu thought. The Halloween festival was coming up soon and the fact someone would make light of two deaths that had nothing to do with supposed supernatural beings sickened her. It baffled her that the school was going to continue on with the festival plans, having it two weeks from now. Security would be heightened, definitely.

Mifuyu closes her eyes and sits down in her carpeted walk-in closet, leaning up against a wall. She's even surprised herself she didn't have a claustrophobia attack around Yuma down there. Then again it was spacious enough. ...She starts to think about him again.

"He thinks I can't do this because...I had a panic attack? What the hell does he gain from this, though?"

Get to know me to find out.

"That's what you said, sure. But how do I know there isn't some sort of ulterior motive…"

Ding!

Her eyes fly open and she checks her phone to see a text message from Yui.

'I think I'm good to go on seeing you tomorrow evening!'

Mifuyu swipes up and her keyboard appears.

'Okay, cool. What a busy girl you are~ You popular or something?'

She sends it. Yui had taken a while to get a hold of the student in general but not even a minute later, she texts back.

'Oh no! I could never be, hehe. I really am just busy.'

Swipe up. Mifuyu smiles a bit.

'Oh yeah? You work somewhere? You do always seem really tired, haha.'

Send.

It took slightly longer that time.

Ding!

'Oh no not really. I just get so busy with my personal life and school work that I sometimes don't know how to manage my time, hehe. Do you work yourself, Satomi-san?'

'Huh. Yeah time management skills are a must, hah. No, I don't work. I'm also preoccupied with other stuff too. We're both in a pretty rough spot, huh?'

Five minutes go by.

It doesn't bother Mifuyu too much but she goes back to reanalyzing her notes about what she wrote down. She makes a mental note to investigate outside the building and more around the school to see different ways one could intrude and not be seen. Perhaps ask a couple of students who knew the victims in question. The raven-haired student is starting to think someone might have gone under the guise of a student of some kind...and carried out their dirty work. The question is...who?

Her phone going off startles her. Mifuyu picks it up.

'Maybe, hehe. I like talking to you Satomi-san but, I'm afraid I can't be on the phone much longer. I'm on a tight schedule to get some work done. I'll see you tomorrow evening!'

Mifuyu raises a brow but shrugs, sending a thumbs up in response.

Her aunts call her down for dinner and Mifuyu leaves her closet, descending down the staircase.

As quickly as the night came in a flash, the school was over as the bell tolls. Students were starting to warm up with one another again, excited whispers and talks about the upcoming Halloween festival that was drawing near. Mifuyu swings her book bag across her shoulder and walks toward the library. It was a short-lived conversation if she could call it that. Yui told her to meet there after school and that was that. She then just...walked away with her head down.

She looked sort of pale, too. Mifuyu really wondered if that girl was going to be alright. Would she need hospital assistance every second she would feel anemic? The fact she still doesn't know how Yuma knows Yui has that sort of problem still makes her eyebrow twitch. Even today, Yuma didn't have too much conversation with the raven-haired girl. He mostly stuck by his brothers and whenever they would have homeroom earlier tonight, he wouldn't pay her much mind.

Maybe he got a scolding from Ruki? He seemed to be the leader. Throughout the time they had been here, Mifuyu took note that he was not good at conversation and would only really talk to answer questions by the instructor. Hell, all of the brothers being in one spot for homeroom was already giving her migraine. The way they dressed was so out there that it sometimes made her take a second glance at what she was looking at.

But the girls seemed to like most of them. In fact, a lot of them are just like the Sakamaki's and the Mukami's just as much. She didn't care for any of them.

Not that she considered herself 'different' or 'not like other girls.' Just purely the fact she wasn't as boy crazy as compared to her female peers. Fine to her they act like that but it was certainly not Mifuyu's style.

Reaching the library she spots the blonde sitting in the corner reading a book by the biggest window where the moon shined in. For a girl with a lot of issues and a bit of a klutz, Yui was pretty cute in that lighting. No wonder a lot of guys would seem to clamor at her affections.

Smiling a little she strides on over to the desk and sets down her book bag, placing her hands on the desk.

"Hey, rookie~"

Yui looked up from her pages and looked from side to side, pointing at herself. "M-Me? What am I...a rookie for, Satomi-san?" She softly asks.

Blinking her silver daggers, Mifuyu shakes her head. "You need help with law, remember? Doin' okay up in that head of yours or are you anemic again?" She sits down next to her while unzipping her book bag.

"Huh..? Oh, oh! I'm so sorry, Satomi-san… I must have lost track of time." Yui giggles, covering her mouth bashfully. "You do seem pale...you sure you're okay and don't need to go home?" Mifuyu asks, setting out her notebook and pencils.

Yui shakes her head and her smile goes from shy to confident. "Oh no, I don't need to! I'd like to get this done as soon as possible."

"Heeh~? Got some dates or somethin'?" Mifuyu teases, resting her cheek on her fist. Watching the blonde turn into red as a tomato after that light jest.

"Oh no! I just wish to study with you without making you wait-"

"I'm kiiiding, Yui-san." Mifuyu laughs and Yui shuffles in her seat, smiling still.

For some reason to the adolescent, Yui was easy to talk to. Unlike some other students with who she would have a hard time conversing, especially the likes of Yuma and for sure that Sakamaki- conversing with the strawberry blonde was flawless. Mifuyu's therapist did recommend she to try to start attaining friendships whenever she first started seeing him after the incident. It was hard...getting any kind of friendships. Mifuyu wasn't exactly known to be the greatest person to be around. Even last year…

To her surprise, Yui seemed to take a liking for Mifuyu. After going through so many traumatic things in the span of no less a year, she needed girl interaction. Some friends. If...they could allow such a thing. She hoped that none of the brothers knew that she was being tutored by someone that was not Reiji. As much as she did care for him, she wanted to have her own little break from the brothers after what had happened with the Mukamis. Her own time to process everything. Even if Mifuyu was rough around the edges and was quite terrified that she wouldn't like her at first, she seemed to enjoy her company. Yui was eternally grateful and internally blessed God for the subtle gift He had laid out for her.

Shortly after their small conversation, they got right to work. Yui had asked a couple of questions but Mifuyu answered them when asked. But sometimes had to look in her textbook to make sure she was correct. She quizzed Yui on some terms, they read the chapter assigned to them, and only an hour in a half had passed. Almost three in the morning. Mifuyu stretches and whistles loudly, echoing off the walls. Not minding since no one was in the library at the moment. The librarian had gone to the teacher's office to get something but hadn't come back for a while. So the two girls take this opportunity to take a break.

"I want to thank you for helping me with this, Satomi-san..!"

"It's not a problem, really! I'm just glad Saotome recommended me to you." Mifuyu says standing to stretch her arms high in the air.

"Oh yes, she was very helpful. If I'm being honest...I wasn't sure if you were going to tutor me." Yui says, looking down at her twiddling thumbs.

"Ooough..! Why think that?" Mifuyu says as she stretches higher.

"You always seem so...busy. Like, you seem to stare off somewhere else and...think of other things that don't pertain to right at the moment…" Yui pauses and blinks a couple of times. "Oh no, that was silly. I'm sorry!"

"Hah? Don't apologize, Yui-san. I do think of a lot of different things...especially now. So, you're right about that." Mifuyu then stops stretching and looks out the window to observe the view outside.

"I heard a lot about you and...I was quite honestly scared of asking you to tutor me but…"

"Ahaha, I'm sure the rumors you've heard about me aren't pretty, are they?" Mifuyu asks, looking at her now which makes Yui flush a little.

"Ah..! It's not that- I'm…just grateful for this. And really happy about what you and Yuma-kun did with me the other day… " Yui doesn't know what the right words to say are. She's at a standstill with her thoughts. If she had drunk her cranberry juice before coming here, maybe she would be a lot more coherent in speaking..!

Yui mentioning that, which gave Mifuyu incentive to ask.

"...Can I ask ya' something?" Mifuyu says suddenly to which Yui jolts and tilts her head quizzically to the side.

"Have you always been anemic? You seemed rather out of it. When I asked if you needed help, you uh, slapped my hand away."

"..D-Did I? I'm so sorry..! I didn't mean to. I must have been-" Yui begins but then quietly silences herself.

"Must have been...what?" Mifuyu asks.

"...On edge, yes. I was trying to get to the infirmary and I must have got...i-irrational. That's all." Yui lies, knowing fully well why she did what she did now that Mifuyu reminded her. She thought it was one of them. Her mind had lied to her.

"Have you always been anemic?" Mifuyu asks, now sitting down. Feeling herself slip into integration mode. Just this once. If she shows signs of not wanting to answer anymore questions, stop.

"...Yes, actually. Since childhood." A slow, but short response. A bit too quick at the end to finish. Yui averts her gaze from Mifuyu's, still showing some hesitancy.

"I wanted to ask you too, and you can stop me if I'm being too nosey. But...what's your relationship with Yuma and Kou Mukami? They seem pretty close to you and, as of matter of fact, the Sakamaki's seem to be subtly around you too. Why is that?" Mifuyu asks gently.

"..." Yui's hands noticeably clamp over each other as she still doesn't look at the silver-eyed amateur detective.

O-Oh no...is she catching on? Should I tell her..? B-But I barely know her..! I don't know what to do...I-It's not like I'll run away or ask for her help I just...need someone to talk to…

After minutes on end, Yui then slowly looks at Mifuyu. Locking their eyes with one another.

"I-"

"Miss Komori, Satomi-san...funny to see you here."

Both of their eyes dilated and in the same height of emotion too. Yui was practically more scared compared to Mifuyu. No, scared wasn't the right term. She was terrified.

H-How did he know? Did Reiji-san...follow me?

"S-Sakamaki-san…" Mifuyu clears her throat and stands, wanting to kick herself for already getting into a defensive position. "Sakamaki-san, what are you doing here this late?" She crosses her arms. Trying to boast some confidence.

"I could be asking you two the same question. School has ended already. Shouldn't you two be home?" An eyebrow raises, now crossing his own arms. "I would say it is not the wisest choice to take lessons in an empty library when a murder just took place not too long ago. I feel like you should have known this by now, Satomi-san."

Mifuyu bites the inside of her cheek out of nervousness. His eyes. Those cold, intimating eyes. Whatever he was doing...it was working on her body. Making her feel absolutely terrified in his presence.

Fuck him. Fuck him to hell! She screams in her mind. Who does he think he is!?

"R-Reiji-san…" Yui starts to speak.

"Please see that you return home, Miss Komori. Someone will escort you home." Reiji says coldly and Yui immediately gets up to grab her belongings to put in her own book bag. She zips it up and puts it around her shoulder, giving Mifuyu one final glance before exiting the library. She wanted to say she'd text her. She wanted to say she wanted to meet her again. But she couldn't. Yui had been caught...and she knew she was going to face punishments later.

Once she was out of earshot, Reiji's eyes that watched Yui's body like a hawk leaving the library swiftly turned to the troublemaker at hand. He looks at her scarred-up hands and then looks her in the eyes again.

"You were not in class last night." He states. Not making that sound like a takes a deep breath and her arms uncomfortably leave her body, hands going behind her back. Reiji takes note of that but Mifuyu is already aware that he did, not wanting him to look at them.

"What do you mean?" Mifuyu asks, not sure how to fight back.

"How tiresome. It seems you are also slow at understanding. You were not in class last night. You were missing half of the night after lunch had finished. I do not need to repeat myself a third time." Mifuyu's hands get into fists and she stomps up to Reiji.

"Alright, four-eyes. Whatever I do that isn't class-related, is my business. What are you? Some type of hall monitor? Because last time I checked, you're a student too. So maybe you shouldn't be fucking stalking me."

Reiji's eye noticeably twitches in irritation. "How terribly unmannered and accusatory. I have not stated I have stalked you. It was obvious you had not attended so I am here to ask why that is."

"And I told you whatever I do in my free time to skip classes, is my business. I don't like repeatin' myself. Got me?" Mifuyu spits back.

"I know you went down in the basement." Mifuyu's heart stops and drops off a cliff, dropping deep into an abyss once Reiji has said that. She could already feel her face becoming clammy with worry but she still persisted, trying not to let that get the best of her.

"And?"

"That Mukami student seemed to be gone at the same time you. Is that not rather suspicious?" Reiji asks rhetorically.

"Why are you so against me going down there? You're almost soundin' like you're the one who killed those two boys." Mifuyu accuses, raising a hand and pointing at his chest, touching him. "Talking about me the one who's suspicious. How about you, huh? Why are you so up in my bubble about this? Why warn me? I may be vague as hell, but at least I'm upfront with going down there when you interrogate me. I ask you something and you give me vague answers. So, why? Why are you such a fucking-?!"

Reiji grabs her hand and lifts it from his chest to which Mifuyu immediately wants to tear back from but...he was gripping incredibly tightly.

He doesn't smile. He remains stoic.

"Your manners are deplorable. Almost as horrendous as Miss Komori's. So ill-mannered, unladylike language, and does not know when to listen…" Reiji draws, not letting go of Mifuyu's hand. "I warn you so I do not see a student of my year get hurt for something they have no involvement in...and you don't appreciate my warnings?"

"Oh that's so bullshit and you know it! You have an ulterior motive, I just know it! Why do you not want me to get into this case? Tell me the real reason, Reiji." Mifuyu says, gritting her teeth angrily.

He could kill her right here, he thought. No one was around to notice and he would make sure every stain would be cleaned with precision by his familiars. It would be simple. She would have no involvement with the girl, the murders, and everyone in this building would be better off if she hadn't existed at all. So persistent, stubborn, dull-minded…!

Yet, determined.

Reiji chuckles and inhales deep. "You are a detective are you not? Figure it out, Satomi-san."He clenches her hand tighter.

Mifuyu was about to retort.

"Oiii, cut it out already will ya?!" A familiar voice rings across the library and both parties look to the bookcase. Who steps out is none other than Yuma Mukami.

"Damn, and I didn't think you would have the balls to do that, Four-Eyes."Reiji scowls at him but very quickly composes himself, releasing Mifuyu's hand. She jerked away from him and got in between both men.

"What happened to bein' so polite and well-mannered?" Yuma teases, grinning. Mifuyu looks at him for a few seconds before her attention being pulled away by Reiji.

"I was simply giving her a warning. Nothing more." He pushes up his glasses. "It will be the last as well." He says, crossing his arms again to face the two of them.

Yuma, without much thought, then steps in front of Mifuyu as if to shield her.

"H-Hey? Yuma..?!" Mifuyu begins to only be shushed by the Mukami.

"Stay outta our business, Sakamaki. This is ours."

"Oho, and what is it that you have to do with these affairs, Mukami-kun?"

"Like I'm fuckin' tellin you!" Yuma barks out and Reiji shakes his head, doing another chuckle.

"Very well. It seems my warnings are not getting through to you. I will also partake in this silly little game you have conjured up." Reiji says and then stares directly at Mifuyu again.

"I'll make sure of it."

With that, he leaves the library hiding a disgusted look on his face. The pure rage that he would not allow anyone to see. A mask that should not be easily torn off. That damned student…

"Yuma, what the hell are you doing here…!?" Mifuyu asks and he turns towards her, putting both hands on his hips.

"You're just lucky I came here! Things woulda' been bad if I wasn't." He says, looking out at the window and to the moon. Mifuyu does a double-take and starts to get angrier.

"Alright, I am sick and tired of you and the Sakamaki being vague! Even Yui! What the fuck do you mean?! What's going-!?"

Yuma puts a finger to her lips to which she slaps his finger away.

"Focus on this with me and I'll tell ya all ya know, alright?" Yuma asks, having to tell a lie to the student. She still gets enraged by this and stomps her foot.

"I want to know now!" She exclaims.

"Then let's solve this case, hah?!" Yuma then starts to walk away.

"Hurry up and get home. It's too late for ya to be out…" He then hastily leaves and Mifuyu chases after him to only round the corner and find him gone.

Not questioning it and quite too tired to be doing so right this second, she stuffs her belongings into her bookbag, hoists it over her shoulder, and runs to catch her waiting car at the front gates. She didn't see Reiji, Yuma, or even Yui when she left. She was the only escort left.

"Aghh..! What the hell is going on now?!"
