Going through the motions of Theodore's birthday, the duo started off doing the touristy things, like seeing the sights, and going through famous areas in Shibuya.

Theodore tried an assortment of goodies on their walks, Lila bought them snacks as they walked along the stretches of pedestrian walkways, and conversed with the merchants, asking them opinions on places, seeing what's the latest trend.

Gave a few merchants a surprise with Lila speaking to them in fluent Japanese, but the duo was having the time of their lives on their rare adventure without fear of one of the aliens from the rogue gallery trying to kill them.

Arms interlocked they strolled with the crowds through areas, catching sight of the random things that they never see back in London.

While some tourists took breaks from walking, having ran through tight corridors and then some, the duo had no trouble wandering around, having to take breaks when they realized how long they've been going.

Sitting beside each other on one of the many park benches in the section, Theodore and Lila went over the map, with Lila detailing restaurants close by their hotel, deciding where to go for dinner.

"It all looks so good!" Theodore bemoaned having to choose dinner, everything in the pamphlets and what Lila learnt from the merchants selling their wares on the streets, he and his stomach couldn't decide what to choose!

Lila's having difficulty deciding, too, she's looking over the restaurants, wanting to gorge herself on everything shown in the pamphlets that tourists like themselves can easily venture without issues, that it's almost hard for her to choose, and eventually, through trials and tribulations, the two decided on a hibachi grill, famous for its delectable offerings in the Shibuya area, friendly to tourists, and highly rated.

"Hm, we may need to break into the stash of tums," Lila noted that by the time they're done, they'll be at their stomachs' mercy, before Theodore reminding her that he didn't need to worry about indigestion, only for Lila to gently jab him at his side for that.

Shrugging his wide shoulders, Theodore says, "Well, it's true!"

Leaning forward, Lila says, "Doesn't mean you have to gloat!"

Theodore giggled as he comforted Lila on her inability to sleep soundly without the aid of tums after eating her weight in food.

Which, still isn't getting the doctors off her back about burning more than she's taking, while that's great that she's getting yelled at for being a little underweight, it's getting grating hearing the same thing.

If only Lila can tell them in truth about what she's doing on her off-days, maybe it'll get them off her back.

Of course, that'd be a tall order, and knowing her luck, the only doctor that'd even remotely believe a word she says's Doc Martin!

"Shall we?" Theodore smiled as he stood up, his hand outreached, and Lila took it, before they began their walk towards the chosen hibachi grill.

In the warm summer air, there's a gentle cool breeze, the night's setting in, and the crowds slowly dwindled until it's only handfuls at a time.

Arriving at the hibachi grill, the duo took their spots at the counter, the aroma wafting through the building of different meats and vegetables.

With Lila's help, they ordered their meals, to the clanking of the spatulas and the tower of onions flying in the air.

Glasses of the Japanese beer that Lila said paired with their food, the duo sat and talked amongst themselves.

"Come here often?" Theodore began as he looked over to Lila while she sipped on her beer.

Resting her glass on the black polished counter, Lila responds, "Not as often as I like, how about you?"

Sipping on his beer before he rested it on the counter, too, Theodore then says, "My first time, actually."

Their conversation continued with them asking where the other's from, Theodore says he's from Britain and Lila says from the States.

Back and forth, they asked each other questions, like strangers who just met for the first time under the same roof.

Served their dinner in spurts as the chefs worked in tandem to wow the people around the counters, Lila then asks, "So, what's your story, big guy?"

Haphazardly using his chopsticks as he picked up a piece of beef from his lacquered bowl, Theodore replied, "Oh, I'm a, bit of a traveler, actually. How about you?"

Washing down her dinner with beer, Lila wiped down her face before answering, "Oh, nothing much, just a librarian."

Consuming his dinner, his chopsticks clanking against the bowl, Theodore pondered his next question, and asked it after sitting down his empty bowl, "Not very difficult, is it?"

Snickering as she placed her chopsticks down, side by side, Lila shrugs as she tells Theodore, "No, not really, though, I imagine being a traveler has it's downsides, right?"

As their bowls were collected, before their next set of meals were prepared before them, Theodore chuckles as he says that it keeps him on his toes, but he manages, and asks if Lila ever had an opportunity.

"Nah, just a boring, librarian, living in London, of all places. So, got anyone waiting for you?" Lila smiled as she pulled her filled glass of beer towards her as she watched the chef fling beef in the air.

Resting his half-drunk glass, Theodore answered with a smirk, "Hm, maybe. How about you?"

Seeing the flames rise as the chefs cooked the strips of beef in groups of ten or even more, the charcoal smell hitting her nose, and her stomach growling at the sight, Lila replies, "Dunno if I should say, it's bad luck, talking about it, y'know?"

Eying her with a smirk, Theodore prodded her, and she revealed small details, "Oh, about as tall as you, has a big nose like yourself."

Lightly jabbing her with with his shoulder, Theodore snorts, "I bet he dresses like a goof!"

Smirking, Lila shakes her head as she asserts that, "he's just elective!"

Going back and forth, talking to each other over beer and food, to the tune of the chefs throwing things in the air, clapping when the chefs do their stunts while flinging food in the air and the other catching them in bowls.

Night settled and after consuming their weight in food and beer, the duo paid their bill, before returning to the outside, as the gentle breeze passed them by, as they walked with their arms interlinked.

"That was good!" Theodore hiccuped as he felt his body expending the alcohol within minutes, as if he hadn't drank his weight worth in beer, though his bladder certainly remembers.

Nodding, Lila smiled, "Until that piece of chicken hit that lady's face!"

Accidents happen in hibachi grills, even world famous ones.

Lightly shrugging, Theodore responded that she took it well, she got a free piece of teriyaki chicken out of it.

"Happy birthday, spaceman!" Lila squeezed his arm gently as she congratulates him on his birthday, one of many, and he smiled as he pulled Lila closer to him, the nighttime crowd swelling in areas as they're heading to the night clubs strewn.

Working off their meal, the duo spent much of their night walking around, discussing whatever came to mind, and enjoying the peace.

"Hm, if my birthday was earlier, we could've celebrated… what… what was it?" Theodore noted had he been born earlier, they'd celebrate one of the holidays that's celebrated at this time of year, and Lila tells him that it's Tanabata.

"Hm, what's Tanabata, again?" Theodore asked her about the holiday and Lila filled him in on what it entailed.

When she finished, Theodore processed the information, before musing that they'll have to celebrate that holiday next time they're in Japan, or whatever version they arrive in, whichever comes first.

Chuckling, Lila says with a grin, "It's a date."

Continuing their leisurely stroll, they walked underneath the brightly lit signs, hearing the ambiance in the background.

Disappearing into the yonder, there's footfall from behind.

A trio of men sniffing around, their noses held high, as they took deep breaths, they stopped the moment they smelled something, skin around their cheeks opening and closing.
