Seeing the elective nature of the books, one would think they're leftovers from previous owners, not something Harold collected over the years.

More, some would assume that Harold went to bookstores and found these books, but as Theodore and Lila perused the extensive library, they found self-published books, books they didn't recognize, and some in foreign languages neither knew or spoke.

"I wonder if he went to that bookstore with the cranky owner?" Lila made a comment on the elective nature of the books that wouldn't be out of place in an odd bookstore like the one she mentioned.

Thumbing pages of a manual for a type of machinery, Theodore responded, "Perhaps he bought stock in it."

Outside a handful of science books, Theodore wouldn't know where to start with these books, it's almost like reading a whole new language, and some were printed in English.

"Why don't you ask about it when we see him, again?" Lila suggested Theodore inquiry about the unusual books with Harold whenever he pops up, again, which she noted that for a host, he's not keen on being the center of attention, especially when he said that this was for a celebration.

Surely, Harold wouldn't mind answering some questions a guest has about something in the mansion, she reasoned.

Seeing her point, Theodore responded that Mr. Brody, in his disguise, was more hands-on than Harold in this celebration.

"What do you think they saw?" Lila wondered what the Winchesters saw, if they saw anything.

Pondering her question as he placed the book, he looked through back on the shelf, Theodore says, "That I cannot say. Perhaps they saw a bat as they'd easily cling to the ceiling, perhaps they didn't see anything and simply imagined it, can't ask them, now."

With the Winchesters gone, they have no way of knowing for sure, but from what Theodore saw, they were afraid of something, and believed in what they saw, that it made Theodore unsure, himself.

Lila jumped into his arms when a thunderous clash roared outside the mansion, the storm raging, a flash of light pierced through the stained-glass window in the library, enshrouding it in multicolored light for nearly a minute, before it faded.

Gripping him tightly, Lila exhaled sharply, "I've been chased by Daleks, Cybermen, had to play the world's deadliest red-light-green-light, how the hell is this still happening?"

One would think after enough adventures and threats to her life, Lila wouldn't scare easily, here she was, gripping Theodore as she heard low thunder outside the stained-glass window.

Letting out a short chuckle, Theodore comforted Lila, rubbing her back with his free hand, as he held her in his other hand, while saying, "It happens to the best of us."

Looking up at him, Lila goes, "Meanwhile, one little butterfly lands on your nose, you act like it's the end of the world!"

While it's excusable that Lila still has tendencies jumping when she's spooked by sudden noises, the fact that Theodore still hates insects, even those that have benefits to the environment, going far as growing distressed by a mere butterfly perching on his nose.

"You see its eyes looking at you, you'll feel differently!" Theodore stated that it's different when an innocent butterfly lands on his nose while he's half-asleep, waking up when he sees those eyes peering into his soul.

Once her hands lessened, Lila unhands Theodore, sighing as she crossed her arms, the sound of the rain hitting the glass-stained window echoed throughout the library.

"Well, what now?" Lila asked what Theodore wanted to do, since they've went through the library, so far, there wasn't anything interesting for them to read, if they can even understand what they're reading, even a stereo manual would've been more comprehensive.

Seeing there's still time before they head to the parlor, the rain nixed any chances going outside, obviously.

"A stroll around the mansion," Theodore then decided, seeing as they didn't have much else to do, and Lila agreed to his idea.

Arms interlocked, they're about to leave the library when a book from the bookcase towards the wall fell from the top shelf.

Turning around, Theodore sees the book lying face down, he broke off from Lila to retrieve and return the book to its rightful place at the top shelf.

Reaching up, he shoved it back into place, once he's sure it's pushed far into the bookcase, Theodore returned to Lila's side, about to leave, again, when another book behind fell off the shelf.

Turning his head, Theodore sees the book on the ground, he broke away from Lila once more, retrieving the book from the ground, and returning it to its spot on the bookcase.

This time, he pushed on the book, making sure it touched the back of the bookcase, running his large hand over the hardbacks, pushing them against the bookcase.

Once he's satisfied, Theodore turned around to face Lila, when a book landed squarely on top of his head.

"Oomph!" Theodore felt the heavy hardback book land on his head, sliding off to the ground, Lila running towards him with a confused look on her face as she watched him rub the top of his head.

Snapping up the book from the ground, agitatedly Theodore sharply turned around, finding the spot where it came from, shoving it back in its proper place.

His large hands pushing against the books, using his strength, he pushed them all back against the wall, stepping back with Lila beside him, quizzically looking up at the bookcase.

"Ow!" Lila instinctively covered her face when a book from the shelf in front of her launched itself at her, smacking her in the face.

Thankfully, it wasn't enough to break her nose, but it's enough to sting for a while, as she recoiled.

Immediately, she felt Theodore's hands gingerly touching her, checking her as she lowered her hands, a red splotch around her nose and mouth as there's a dribble of blood coming from her nostril.

"Oh, Lee," Theodore cooed as he reached into his stitched pocket, taking out a folded quilted cloth, gently holding it against Lila's face, as she held his hand.

She feels the blood oozing from her nose, little air bubbles, as its absorbed through the quilted cloth.

Releasing his gentle grip, Theodore let her hold the cloth over her nose and mouth as he turned his attention to the perpetrator.

Further agitated, Theodore reached down, grabbing the book from the ground, on the cover, a faint red splotch, as he angrily tossed it on the end table adjacent to them.

No longer interested in keeping things tidy, Theodore refused to put the book back, instead gently touching Lila's shoulder as he proceeded to move away from the library, only for him to stumble forward, air escaping from his lungs, a sharp pain from his back.

Recovering, Theodore sharply turned again, seeing that a book hit him.

Staring at the book as it's laying on the ground, the spine facing up, Theodore's eye twitched as he intentionally left the book on the ground, not dignifying it with him picking it up.

It was then, another book's launched at him, before another, until he grabbed Lila, collapsing to the ground as they're besieged by books flying off the shelves, hitting them at a sheer force that Theodore used one of the fallen books to cover his head as he used his body to shield Lila, as the torrent of books launched at them.

The pain of the heavier hardback books hitting him, Theodore audibly groaned, until he felt the last book slamming into him.

Only after a few minutes passed, did Theodore attempt to lower the book he used as a shield, when he did, he sees the bookcase bare, the books lying on the ground in front of them.

Getting up from the ground, Theodore helped Lila up, gently touching her as he checked her for more injuries from the books, but she claimed she's fine, before reaching up with her free hand, touching Theodore as she asked the same.

"Nothing that a bottle of wine and a warm bath couldn't fix," Theodore tells her that while it hurts, he'll be fine.

There's movement outside the library doors, Professor May, Douglas, and Harold ran inside, hearing the commotion of the books hitting the ground.

"What on earth's going on?" Harold called out as he sees the book case towards the wall barren of books, seeing them piled on the ground.

Handing him the book that he used as a shield, Theodore informed him what happened, how they were assaulted by hardback books of all shapes and sizes.

Holding Lila close to him, Theodore tells Harold that they'll miss the parlor talk, Harold's understanding as he asks Lila if she needed a doctor.

Lila affirmed that she didn't need a doctor, just needed to wash her face off, stick some tissue up her nose, and have an ice pack on her face a little while.

"Don't hesitate to ask one of my servants for one," Harold tells her.

"Great, the ghost of the killer librarian strikes, again!" Douglas noted the mess in the library while watching Harold picking up some of the books off the ground.

Professor May stared at him with confusion before Douglas tells him how he sometimes wrote short stories in-between novels, one of the short stories involved a serial killer posing as a librarian, when he died his ghost haunted the library he worked, still killing people from beyond the dead, using books as weapons.

"They're certainly qualified as weapons!" Lila agreed with Douglas's choices in using books as the weapons in his short story.

Seeing the disarray, Professor May noted that it couldn't been Theodore or Lila, the way the books looked, no chance it staged, they really did attack them.

"I'll have them clean it up, for now, please don't use the library, again," Harold asked the guests not to use the library until everything's put back in its place, though it didn't answer the question held by the guests.

Seeing their concerns, Harold exhaled as he gave them the cause behind the books assaulting Theodore and Lila, summing, "Poltergeist. Very noisy, very messy."

The history of the mansion steeped in lore, ghostly antics weren't far off, and it intrigued Professor May and Douglas more than it did Theodore and Lila, as they weren't fond of the answer.

Waving his hand, Harold escorted them out of the library, ringing a bell, having the maid that came go and inform the butlers of their new chore.

Harold apologized profusely for the incident, Theodore only said that he's fortunate that they weren't hurt worse, before going off with Lila back to their room.

"A poltergeist, huh, gee, you think that's what the Winchesters saw, or just their imagination, ey, professor?" Douglas asked about the possibility before Professor May exhaled sharply, shaking his head, before moving on, preferring not to engage with Douglas on this conversation.
