"In other news today, Ratchet Davis passed away from a car accident in San Diego California at two o'clock this afternoon, police are investigating the incident."
Rivet looked at the news in shock. She couldn't believe this happened. She wanted this all to be a dream.
She wanted to wake up from this nightmare….
She needed to tell RJ and Roy.
This will be the hardest thing that she told them.
Their father has died in a car accident.
Thankfully they were coming home for the holidays…
They saw an Uber pull up to the driveway.
Two Lombaxes walked through the door and the first thing they saw was their mom, but she was trying to hide her grief from them. But she needed to tell everyone else.
A few days later, everyone came to the house for Christmas.
"Hey, Rivet," Dwayne said.
"Hi…" she said.
"I heard what happened with Ratchet. I am so sorry." Luren said. Rivet hugged her.
Dwayne hugs her too.
"I miss him so much… you have no idea!" Rivet said as she cried into Larun's arms.
"I know, Rivet. But you have me and Dwayne and your family by your side," she said.
Rivet held her tight.
"Who would do this?" RJ said.
"People don't want dad dead here. It's only in his home that they want him gone, or maybe the driver did a hit and run."
Roy nodded.
"Well, the news did say that the police are doing something about it."
"It's going to be okay, Rivet, we have your back and your fans have your back too," Kaden said. The seven-year-old boy puts a hand on her shoulder. Telling her that it will be okay and they will help her get through this.
