KingVessel: ...I was so sleepy when I wrote this down.

Izuku Midoriya sighed heavily as he trudged home. It'd been a particular bad day, especially with Iwasaki failing a test and wanting a stress reliever, with said 'stress reliever' being a certain Quirkless kid.

And with no new updates on the Hero Feed, Izuku had nothing to distract him from the bruises on his back just as he's about to take the shortcut that would've led him through an underpass.

"Argh! Dammit!"

Izuku startled out of his daze, suddenly noticing a man straining his arm underneath a vending machine. He seemed extremely determined to reach whatever was underneath it, given the way he strained and stretched his arm.

"Um...?" Izuku nearly flinched from the sudden stare he got. "D-Do you... need some help?"

"Uh... yeah! I really do!" The man pulled himself up, dusting his knees and brown hair. "Thanks for the help! What do we do?"

"Um... Let's see now." Not used to someone instantly accepting his help (or even at all), Izuku instantly looked for what he could use. His observant eyes instantly noted the muscles hidden away in the man's thick shirt. "Can you tilt the machine back towards you while I pick up whatever you dropped? What is it anyway?"

"Ah, it's my phone. I sneezed and it slid under here." The man replied, easily reaching the top of the machine and pulling back to make it lean towards him. "Do you see it?"

"Yeah." Izuku picked up the phone and showed it to the man, who instantly released the vending machine back to it's initial position. "Here you go, sir."

"Thanks, kid." The man replied, instantly taking the phone and checking it for missed calls. "You need me to do something for you as repayment?"

"N-No, sir!" Izuku stammered with a blush. "It's fine, really-"

*gurgle*

Izuku halted and blushed at his stomach stating a strong disagreement.

The man himself burst out laughing. "Guess I'm treating you to lunch! C'mon... Wait, what's your name?"

"Um..." Izuku fidgeted on the spot. "Izuku... Midoriya... I'm Quirkless."

If the man noticed how that last bit came out as an afterthought or thought any differently of Izuku after that, he didn't show it. "I'm Issei Hyoudou. C'mon, I know a good stand nearby."

Even after wolfing down a bowl of precious katsudon had done little to help Izuku's paranoia. The man- Hyoudou hadn't said anything yet about his Quirklessness, often aiming for some small talk which often involved girls.

'At least I'm not hanging around with a pedophile.' Izuku thought dryly as Hyoudou mused on who was more attractive between a maid and a nurse with a completely serious tone.

Soon enough, Izuku learned that the Japanese man had recently returned home after several years in Norway and had just settled back in, which explained his confusion at some of the newer buildings that had popped up.

"This is some really high class stuff. I mean, I don't know much but this could be pro level."

Right, maybe most of Izuku's paranoia was born from the fact that the man had somehow gotten his precious notebook in his hands and was riffling through it while occasionally giving out complements. Not even Mom, as nice and loving as she was, had done that.

"You okay, Midoriya?"

Izuku flinched from suddenly being addressed. "A-Ah, yeah. It's just... I'm not used to being... complimented..."

"I see..." Hyoudou murmured. "Well, from this book implies, you're a really smart kid. I'm sure that whatever you wanna do, you'll be great."

Really? Then... If Hyoudou truly believed that... "Do you think a Quirkless person can become a hero?"

Hyoudou's chopsticks halted on the way to his face, his face taking a thoughtful expression as his noodles slipped back into his bowl. "Hmm... What kind?"

Izuku gaped in shock. He... He didn't reject his question in an instant? Then Hyoudou's question registered. "E-Eh?"

"What kind of hero do you want to be? A rescue type? Underground? Definitely not Daylight? You're too unprepared." Hyoudou stressed as he grabbed the boy's arm and patted his biceps. "Like I thought, you don't do much exercise or working out, do you?"

"I... no?"

"I already know that you're smart but how good is your deduction skill?"

"I'm... not sure?"

"Do you know how to punch somebody?"

"No."

"Have you ever stood up to somebody who did or said something you disagree with?"

"Yes." Izuku answered that last question surely. "Everyday of my life, actually."

Hyoudou blinked at the strong tone he'd taken, then burst into a wide smile. "Good. It's a small chance but even a Quirkless person like that could become a hero."

Izuku's mind blanked out a bit before turning his face away to hide his tears. He'd never had an adult who took his words so seriously and questioned him further on it. Also, Izuku actually felt like an idiot after hearing his words.

Working out? Deduction skills? How had he entertained the idea of becoming a hero without those ideas? Look at Endeavor! His pyrokinetic Quirk certainly didn't give him those muscles of his!

Even as mean as Kacchan was, he took the idea of becoming a hero seriously, considering how much he studied and exercised! Far more than all of his other classmates (with Izuku apparently included).

"I'm such an idiot." Izuku moaned, only to feel a hand ruffling his hair.

"Don't worry." Hyoudou laughed as he patted his head gently after he paid for their meals. "Even I feel like that a lot. The important thing is that you realize it and you're gonna fix it."

Izuku moaned before waving Hyoudou goodbye and continuing on the way home with more of a skip in his steps.

*BOOM!*

Five minutes later, Izuku nearly tripped on his feet as he saw the column of smoke. "Another villain fight? I gotta see!"

Sometimes despite changes to Fate's tracks, the stations themselves are usually unmovable.

"Seriously!" Death Arms roared at the kneeling greenhead with Kamui Woods at his side. "Do you have any idea how reckless that was? That boy could have died because of you! You're lucky All Might and Ddraig were here to save the day. What were you thinking running out like that?!"

"Hey!"

The three turned to see an armored figure in red head towards them after ditching the reporters. "What the hell are you two doing?! That kid just survived a villain attack and you're lecturing him?!"

"This kid just-" Death Arms tried to protest but was stopped by the glare that Ddraig sent him through his helmet.

"This kid, from what I saw, rushed in to save his classmate because you morons mistook a murder attempt for a hostage situation!" Ddraig snarled as he got into Death Arms's personal space. Despite the fact that Ddraig was quite shorter than him, the Punching Hero still took a step back as if there was a real dragon raging at him. "He hasn't even been checked over by the medics but your first instinct after it's all over is to pull him aside for a public dress down?!"

Ddraig pointed at the still rolling cameras, causing Death Arms and Kamui Woods to pale significantly, with the later audibly gulping, before pointing at the hero with the bird-like mask. "And you! What the fuck do you think you're doing, scouting a villain victim?! Does he look like he didn't just nearly die ten minutes ago?!"

The accused hero flinched back, with eager reporters and cameramen capturing his panicked expression. Ddraig huffed before turning to Izuku himself and visibly calming down.

"I'm very sorry you had to endure these morons, kid." Ddraig said after retrieving his bag and handing it over. "For what it's worth, while you did do something dangerous, it's never wrong to try and save someone. I hope this doesn't affect your perspective of us Pro Heroes too much."

"N-No!" Izuku hastily bowed in gratitude. "Thank you for saving me and Kacchan, Ddraig! Also..." His fist clenched tighter. "Thank you for defending me, even if I'm not so sure I deserve it."

Kamui Woods sighed before approaching Izuku and bowing himself. "Kid, I'm sorry for how unreasonable I was with you. While I am pissed at how reckless you were, it doesn't excuse my attitude at all."

While Izuku flailed about in surprise, Ddraig gave a short nod of approval before suddenly looking at Izuku. "Speaking of which, why did you rush out there? Why did you throw yourself at danger like that?"

A few meters away and having overheard the question, All Might stopped his approach, wanting to hear the answer like the other heroes and Kacchan.

Izuku himself opened his mouth to answer with several different answers but what came out was - "Kacchan just... He looked like he needed help and... My legs were moving before I could think any further..."

Everyone within earshot blinked at that answer before Ddraig suddenly burst out laughing. "He looked like he needed help? Your legs moved before you could think any further?! I was wondering what you'd have to say...!"

Ddraig stopped laughing and clapped both hands on Izuku's shoulders. "You... are gonna be one hell of a hero in the future!"

Izuku couldn't help it. Twice in one day, he'd been complimented and assured that he could be a hero.

"Oh shi- Why are you crying?!" Ddraig flailed about in panic before calling over the medics who'd been waiting nearby. "Please help him. He might have some debris or sewage gunk or something in his eye-"

Izuku kept sniffling as he was finally cleared healthy by the medics and allowed to head home. "Today's just been crazy... Did I dream all that up?"

"Deku!"

Izuku flinched as Kacchan arrived, shaking as if he hated every single word that was about to pass his lips.

"Listen up. I never asked for your fucking help! And you didn't help me! Got it?! I was fine on my own. You're just a Quirkless loser lost in your fucking fantasies! Know your shitty place!" With that said, Kacchan turned around and started angrily stomping away with a pouty growl. "You damn nerd!"

Izuku stared in surprise as Kacchan's back disappeared around the corner before shaking his head. "Kacchan's right. Still, what to do..."

"What kind of hero do you want to be? A rescue type? Underground? Definitely not Daylight? You're too unprepared."

"Hyoudou-san was right about that part." Izuku muttered as he delved into his thoughts. "As much as I want to emulate All Might, Daylight Heroism won't work out for a Quirkless person. Underground is the best fit for me, although I really want to try for Rescue work, too. I've only got ten months left. Maybe I should-"

"There you are."

Izuku snapped out of the Midoriya Mutter as Ddraig's armored figure dropped down from the sky, cracking the ground a bit. "D-Ddraig?!"

"Yo! Midoriya, I really- Hold on, you probably don't recognize me." Ddraig's armor instantly disappeared in a burst of red flames, leaving behind...

"Hyoudou-san?!" Izuku yelled in shock. The perverted man who had encouraged his dream earlier had been an actual Pro Hero?! 'That means that back then with the other heroes, he was aware that I was Quirkless... Unlike my classmates and teachers, an actual Pro Hero thinks I can...'

Here come the tears again.

"You're such a crier." Hyoudou muttered softly as he handed his handkerchief to Izuku, who accepted it gratefully. "I came here to actually ask something of you. How much do you want to become a Hero?"

Izuku blinked before gingerly answering. "V-Very much, Ddr-"

"Don't call me that when I'm not outfitted in my work clothes."

"A-Ah, right, D- I mean, Hyoudou-san." Izuku corrected. "I want to become a Hero... who can save people with a smile on his face!"

"...I see." Hyoudou tilted his head, a curious glint in his golden eyes. "Even if the world hates you? Midoriya, Quirkless people are seen as subhuman by most citizens of this country. When you make your debut, rather than adoration you will face scorn instead. You're essentially likely to become a modern Jeanne d'Arc. One of France's most famous and venerated Saint, who was still burned to death by her own people who she had fought and prayed for. Are you trying to become the second Jeanne, Midoriya?"

Izuku gulped from the heavy glare that had pinned him down. Hyoudou was right, once again. He had already faced scorn for just saying that he was going to become a Hero. If he went further than that... If he actually pushed his existence to all of Japan...

"I'll do it!" Izuku suddenly gritted his teeth as he took a heavy step forward, both figuratively and literally. "I'll become a Hero who can save everyone with a smile. No matter what!"

"Perfect answer! Listen up, this is very important. I won't even allow you to refuse." Hyoudou burst into a smile which seemed like it would've fitted a predatory creature. The clouds which had been blocking the sunlight for a while now suddenly cleared away, causing a strong backlight behind the man's form. "Izuku Midoriya, from this moment, you will become my personal disciple and I will take responsibility in training you to become a Pro Hero and being able to appreciate the esoteric beauty of harems!"

Izuku, who had been stunned from the surreal atmosphere and most of the man's words, suddenly blanched and tilted his head at Hyoudou's last words. "Eh?"

"I'm gonna make you a Pro Hero and a Harem King!"

Way too much had happened that day and he was suitably confused, but one thing was clear to Izuku Midoriya. He'd just been dragged into a lot of trouble.

"...what."

KingVessel: Due to the fact that Issei Hyoudou exists in this fic, I'm bumping up the ages. At this current point, Izuku is 16, attends Aldera High and aims to enter U.A. University.
