Fitz breathed into his hand to check his breath. He wasn't there to look good or smell good for Mellie, but he wanted to be presentable. Maybe she would be able to give him some helpful information. Jerry spent a few dollars on getting him some clothes from a thrift store. It was so strange living with Jerry again. He wasn't the same Jerry he knew. He was a hardworking man who didn't take anything for granted. Jerry asked about Karen, Teddy and Mellie. He said he missed them, and he wished he could live in their world again. Fitz was heartbroken and torn. He could stay in this world and never see his Olivia again, or he could say goodbye to Jerry again. Jerry told him that no one really dies. We simply wake up in another life. If you don't appreciate the good things you have in your current life, you won't get it again in your next life. Fitz was too baffled to offer him any comfort. Jerry had a life in this world. Fitz wasn't sure if they would ever cross paths again in another life. For now, he could only cherish the time they would have together until he was home again running the country...with hopefully Olivia by his side.

He waited in the lobby until the receptionist said he could see Mellie. He walked into her office, and she greeted him with a smile.

"Hello, my receptionist said you're an old friend, but I don't recognize you. Did you sit behind me in second grade?" Mellie said, with a laugh.

"No, we didn't meet in grade school, but I have known you a long time. We met freshman year of college."

"Your face and name are not ringing any bells for me, Fitzgerald Grant."

"Do you know Olivia Pope?"

"OPA, with Marcus Walker? Yes, I do."

Fitz could see how Mellie glowed when she said the name Marcus Walker. He didn't have time to care about her relationship with another man. He only wanted to get home to his Olivia. He wanted to know if she was still mad at him. They fought about something new every week. He didn't know how to make her happy. He tried to make her his wife, and she decided to be a runaway bride. He offered to give up everything and move to Vermont, and she refused. He didn't know what Olivia wanted. Him, Jake or some other guy. It was so emotionally painful to be so close to Olivia in this world and seeing her look so afraid of him. Nevertheless, it was understandable. Who wouldn't be scared of some homeless guy showing up to their office rambling about being from another universe. She would probably call security if he showed up at her office again. He didn't want her to be scared. He wanted her to feel safe with him...though he wasn't sure if he loved this Olivia. They didn't know anything about each other. He knew that she was married to Edison until they had a public divorce. If she was anything like the Olivia from his world, she wasn't going to give him any information about her personal life. That was fine. He needed her help to get home and nothing else from this Olivia Pope.

"What is this about Mr. Grant?"

"Do you wonder why we have the same last name?"

"No, I don't. Grant is a common last name. You sound like this crazy boy that stalks me. I have a restraining order against him. Jerry Grant. The young man thinks I'm his mother. He needs to be in the looney bin."

"Maybe he's not crazy."

"I have a meeting with someone who actually scheduled an appointment. So, you're going to have to get to the point, Fitzgerald."

"Can I schedule a meeting with you? It's going to take a while for me to say everything, and I don't want you to be distracted."

"You can schedule an appointment with my secretary."

"Wait a minute," Mellie said, when Fitz turned to leave her office, "Do you have a sister who lives in Virginia? That might be where I know you from."

"No, I don't."

"Okay, well I will try to recall where I know you from."

"Thank you, Mellie."

Olivia moved away from Jake and he followed her. She studied the paperwork Abby gave her. It seemed too farfetched to be real.

"Why can't you leave work at work. The sun is setting on the island."

"The sun set on the island months ago. I'm not going back. My team needs me here,"

"You don't have a team anymore."

"I don't have Abby or Harrison anymore. I still have OPA."

"You're thinking about Fitz. Why can't you let him go?"

"Because I love him."

"Why didn't you marry him?"

"Because I'm not ready for Vermont. I'm not choosing Vermont or the sun. I'm choosing myself."

"Dance with me."

"I have to work. Go home Jake."

He turned on a record and took the papers out of her hands," Have you ever had sex on a piano?"

"No."

"Great, there's a first time for everything," Jake said, pulling her into a kiss and then letting her go, "I'll get a blanket."

"We need to make this quick."

Jake smiled to himself and kept dancing until he was in the hallway. He came back a few seconds later with the blanket and Olivia was gone.

"Liv?"

He checked the apartment and then he noticed the glass of wine spilled on the paperwork. He ran in the hall. He got a glimpse of a man dressed in all black getting on the elevator.

He ran to the stairs, but he was too late when he reached outside. The van was speeding away from the curb. He couldn't get a license plate.
