Author Note: So I was writing this and realised how much fun it would be to write in character interactions and I'm thinking a chapter 2.

I do not own Encanto.

Enjoy!

Things were rocky for Bruno Madrigal.

After all, how do you shake off a decade of being the black sheep in a mostly magical family?

Right now, he and everybody was taking steps in the right direction.

He was taking steps to not be seen as the bringer of bad luck and be comfortable with the power he was cursed with.

And the Madrigal family was taken steps to heal from general expectation and became more accepting to Mirabel.

This especially applied to Abuela.

Even though most of them were still scared to speak up to her, they were getting there.

And the village was taking steps to learn to not be so dependent on the family.

It was tiny steps they were taking but those were steps of healing.

So since he was trying to be more comfortable with his gift, he looked into the future once again, expecting to see a different image then the one that had been haunting him for the past decade.

Well, he was right.

The image did change.

But nothing could have prepared him for what he saw next.

What he saw was none other then Padro Madrigal, his deceased father and the deceased Patriarch of the family, with the village behind him.

Of course, he freaked the hell out and triple checked that his eyes didn't deceive him before he had no choice but to accept it.

In the future, he was going to meet his father.

Or somebody who looks like his father.

He decided to keep quiet about this.

His mother did not need to know.

He can keep this a secret.

However, he made one miscalculation.

His neice Doloras.

The instant he saw her, he knew she had heard him freak out over seeing his father.

The girl was going to tell.

Dinner was called.

The two took a seat at the table and he stared her down.

Don't you dare. He thought.

Dorolas eye twitched.

He was truly related to Mirable.

He kept his eyes on her, while trying to seem normal to the rest of the family, he was still getting used to being with.

However, something happened and the next thing he knew, Dorolas had already whispered what happened to her little brother Camilo.

Camilo was so shocked, he turned into Pedro Madrigal.

And when he did that, you could feel the entire family go dead silent.

A face that caused the whole family to look at Cameilo in shock, had never happened before.

But Pedro Madrigal would do it.

Mirable said, slowly. "Camilo...why did you change into grandfather?"

Yes.

Why?

Bruno clock his nephew and everybody noticed.

The person who spoke was none other then Abuela who said. "Bruno...what are you hidding from me?"

She knew he must have had another troublesome vision.

And he was going to tell her because he always crumbled when his mother used that tone.

He said. "Ur...Well. I might have had a vision about dad lately"

And suddenly everybody exploded around him.

Abuela demanded that he show her, in a voice that he couldn't say no to.

He caved and ended up showing everybody what he saw.

He would never forget the look on his mother face when she saw Pedro.

He said, trying to smoothen the situation. "Maybe, this guy isn't Pedro Madrigal but a look a like? What are the chances that dad magically revived himself?"

But he was clasping at straws and they knew it.

This was a magical family, impossible things were possible.

If a dead person could rise from the grave, it would be in this family.

Mirable, who saw things from a unique angle, spoke up and said. "Why is he leaving the village?"

And everybody face changed, and they all took another look.

And they found that she was right.

They had been here their entire lives to know the surroundings.

The man was in fact leaving the village and not on another stretch of road in the village.

But why?

Pedro Madrigal would never leave them.

Maybe, it really was just some guy who looked like him, and accidentally got lost?

After all, how and why is Pedro Madrigal alive now after 50 years?

Abuela told everybody to be on the look out for somebody matching Pedro description.

It was certain they would see this guy in the future, even if it took years.

He was defiantly coming.

Kate said, with red hair. "So...you want me to revive Pedro Madrigal, erase his memories and build a village for him?"

She then said. "Why?"

God said. "So that everybody can get closure and he can move on"

She was taken a back.

God said. "Pedro Madrigal may not remember but his soul will find peace seeing what happened to his family afterwards. Abuela can get the appreciation she always wanted. His kids can finally get to know their father. The family can see for themselves the man, their grandmother talked about. Everybody gets closure and he can move on"

She said. "But why the amnesia? Why the new Village? Wouldn't it be better if Pedro stayed and they became one big happy family?"

Ripping him away sounded cruel.

God said. "You would think that but the last time Pedro saw his wife, she was young and vibrate and in her 20's. But now she's a grumpy old women in her 70s. Apparently the sudden age jump is jarring when it comes to mortals"

And she cringed at the thought of that.

It was easy to take to Pedro when he was a ghost but a alive man still looking like he's in his 20's?

Uncomfortable.

And on Padro side, imagine how hard it be to not see his wife as grandma.

God said. "Secondly. Have you seen the village of Echanto? Just because the village is taking steps to not be so dependent on the family doesn't mean, each family member isn't expected to still do community service for life. Pedro Madrigal, is no different. The village or Abuela will make sure, they find himself something to do. He has no choice in this. The sight of Pepa Madrigal alone is enough to show its a terrible environent to be stuck in"

And she agreed.

And nobody gave that poor woman a messerge or a day off.

God said. "There's no point bringing him back if his second chance in life is him mentally suffering under the name he made special" and she was taken aback. "This is part of the reason I reincarnate people. Past self should stay in the Past. However, for Pedro Madrigal, I'll make a exception. The man deserves to see the result of his sacrifice"

She was silent, before saying. "So there is no chance, he'll get his former memories back?"

The God said. "Those memories are gone. But you can create a place where the new him feels loved and he is proud to be himself. Plus, it would be interesting to see Enchanto encounter another village. They haven't seen another soul in decades"

Then the God said. "And no. I have already interfered enough. Enchanto hasn't really advanced in 50 years because the candle I gave them is too convienant. I will never again, get that involved in mortals lives"

And finally the God said. "I'll give you the power to draw and be spiritually with him. Along with send the dead of 50 years ago, your way to be reincarnated. I will not give you power to mess with Enchanto"

She paused and thought about it.

She said. "On hand, I feel really bad at even thinking about ripping a Madrigal away from his home but on the other. God of my own village, where I'm worshiped and beloved? Sign me up"

And god gave her the power and there was light.

#Mortal realm#

What used to be Pedro Madrigal opened his eyes for the first time in almost 50 years and found that he was in some kind of forest.

He had no memory of how he got there.

In fact, what was his name?

He couldn't remember.

He looked down to find that he was in his underwear.

Was he robbed?

And then he heard it.

People.

He inched closer and saw there was indeed a village nearby.

Maybe, he can sneak clothes?

So he tried to sneak clothes but he wasn't really successfully since there was a lot of people in the village and the floor was unforgiving to his poor feet.

He was seen by several people who all had various reactions of their own too him, before he managed to grab a green shirt, green pants and saddles.

Unfortunately when he tried to leave, he was captured by a women who had the biggest muscles he had ever seen.

He was caught, bound and a bag was put over his head.

For some reason, he wasn't freaking out.

Maybe, he was prepared to die today.

He knew people didn't take well to thieves.

So while, he was waiting for his death, he didn't know about the choas going on around him, as people fought over who was going to talk to him and what was going to happen next.

There was going to be a lot of pressed ears and sushing.

And a certain girl didn't even need to do that.

Almost an hour later, his bag was lifted off and he found that he was on a chair and instead of a weapon at his throat, he saw a old women in a red dress with hair tied in pony Tails.

So felt like he had seen this woman before.

And while he was so engrossed with studying her face, he didn't see the emotion on the women face as she looked at him in shock and something more.

It took a lot to face her, but she was a head of a village and couldn't be a coward now.

The women said. "I am Alma Madrigal. But everybody calls me Abuela. I am the leader of Enchanto. What business do you have in my village?"

He said, snapping out of it quickly. "Sorry. No business at all. I was just looking for some clothes."

And whatever the woman expected, it was certainly not this.

He said. "You see, I woke up robbed near your village." The women face changed. "They took everything. My clothes. My bags. My money. Even my shoes. And then I saw your village and made a really dumb decision. I just wanted to walk around decent."

He then said. "I swear. That was it. If you tell me to, i'll leave immediantly"

Silence.

The women eyes burned into him.

The women finally spoke and said. "What's your name?"

He paused and said. "I don't know"

Loud silence, as the women looked at him with wide eyes.

He said. "I woke up and everything was gone. I don't know who I am or where I came from"

He then said. "But I'm still willing to leave. I'm sure I'll make it in the forest somehow. I understand if you don't want to house a outsider."

Silence.

The women said. "Can you work?"

He said. "Ur, yes? Ma'am" and the women made a strange face at him. "I mean, Abuela. I don't know if I have any skills but I can certainly do low level work"

The woman said. "Well, as long as you can work, we will let you stay here. We will prepare a place for you"

And he said. "You don't really have to..."

The woman said. "We insist. It's not everyday we get any outsider. My village will always help people in need"

He said. "Well, okay then"

She then called people in to untie him and he was a bit alarmed by how many people just flooded in.

Even if he was suddenly a master of self defence, can he really take on all these people?

He just did what they said out of self preservation.

He was sure the words 'Please don't kill me'was written all over his face as he complied with instructions.

The home, he was giving was far nicer then his old one.

He blinked.

How did he knew that?

He just knew.

He was giving clothes and neccassarities and told that somebody would come to collect him on his face day of work.

He needed to be ready by 5 in the morning.

They finally left him alone two hours later.

But not really.

Despite being physically alone, he couldn't help but feel a huge gaze on him and turned to see that a bunch of children with some adult l were staring at him through the window.

When they saw that he noticed them, the adults went about their business while the kids did not.

He slowly closed the shutter, blocking them out.

But the feeling of being watched never left.

What is this place?

He felt like he could never fully relax here.

The feeling of being some kind of strange creature was very much alive here.

He hoped that he didn't stay here for too long, or he would start greying from stress.

He clearly didn't belong here.

He wondered where he belonged and if a girl was waiting for him to return?

If he had parents?

He didn't know why but he was sure his memory would come back some day and when that day came, things would change.

Not just for him.

But everybody else too.

But that was ridiculous, he wasn't that special.
