Prompt: No you can't have Bucky's arm

One glance at the caller ID of the latest phone call had Peter letting out an exasperated groan, with maybe just a hint of annoyance mixed in. He's been ignoring Rocket's calls all day, but this was his English class. Where the Rule was strictly enforced. He had no choice but to answer this call.

Peter knew exactly why Rocket was calling him. It was the same reason he had been bugging Peter the past three days. Although at this point, Peter was close to giving up. This was his life now. He would never return to the unnoticed normal nerd again. He could only hope his classmates didn't get too concerned.

"I'm not helping you steal Bucky's arm," Peter said by way of greeting.

"But I need it," Rocket whined through the speakerphone.

"No you don't," Peter deadpanned, writing an answer down on his homework. Might as well try and finish it before his sanity completely left him. "You just want it. There's a difference."

"I do need it. It's important to me," Rocket said. It was obvious to Peter that he was trying to hold back his laughter.

"You just think it's funny to take people's mechanical limbs. Peter told me about how you needed that guy's leg when you were breaking out of prison. You just like to troll people," Peter said, rolling his eyes. He ignored all the weird looks his classmates were giving him and scribbled down his answer for number eight. Maybe if he pretended everything was normal, then it would manifest and become true? Oh who was he kidding. Peter was screwed. The universe didn't like him enough to help him like that. Otherwise he wouldn't be getting constant phone calls from the avengers and friends while in class.

"I won't deny that. But you never know when having a few extra limbs laying around will come in handy." Rocket sounded smug and Peter knew why. He just so happened to have a fake eyeball that he stole and it proved useful to Thor, who had lost his own eye.

"I'm still not helping you," Peter told him.

"Damn. I thought for sure that would convince you," Rocket said. He didn't sound disappointed or upset. Maybe just slightly pouty his plan didn't work.

"Why not just ask Tony to build you some? Or make them yourself?" Peter suggested. Maybe then Rocket would leave him alone.

"Not as fun."

"How did I know that's what you would say?"

"Because you have a brain, unlike Quill. You're more tolerable than him too."

"I'll take that as a compliment," Peter sighed, focusing on number nine of his homework. Rocket barked out a laugh.

"You do you kid. I'm gonna go pester Drax now. If you ever change your mind about helping me steal the arm, you know how to reach me."

"Just don't call me during class again, okay?"

"No promises!" Rocket snickered before hanging up. Good. Peter could return to his homework in peace now. He wanted to have it done before class ended so he could spend more time in the lab with Tony. He pretended not to see the looks everyone was giving him. Peter was starting to get good at ignoring the stares. Too bad it wasn't a skill he could include on a future resume.

Rocket's chapter was a fun one. Meanwhile Peter's class is very concerned about why the quiet kid knows people who steal fake limbs and apparently broke out of prison. Peter just wants to pretend nothing has happened.
