chapter 3 the krakken

first of disclaimer I do not own Ben 10 and warning blood now I hope everyone liked chapter 2 I'm doing this right after chapter 2 was posted and I'm basically winging this story and just writing/typing away while also pausing at points to think and also getting distracted since I am just typing what's on my mind and editing while making the story so this story will be interesting but probably take about two weeks to do each chapter so each chapter should be interesting I think chapter 1 will be the worse in the story so enjoy chapter 3
the screen zooms in towards a lake at night
"Cannonball!" Ben shouted as he jumped in the lake "and he gets a perfect 10 the crowd goes wild!" Ben said as he started whisper shouted to mimic a crowd
"More like a perfect dweeb." Gwen said from the docks
"Come on dive in." Ben said
"No way who knows what germs are in there." Gwen said as she pointed her flashlight around the lake as she then pointed it at Ben "See what I mean?" she said with a smirk as Ben just pouted a bit
"What's the point of camping by a lake if you're afraid to get wet?" Ben said as he splashed some water on Gwen
"Knock it of doofus." Gwen said as she started walking away as she then heard splashing
"H-hey 'cough' what gives?" Ben said as he went under the water
"Very funny Ben... I'm not falling for it." Gwen said as she walked forward and shined her flashlight where Ben was at "...Ben?"
suddenly a creature came out of the water, and it had 3 dark blue eyes as Gwen fell back as her flashlight the shined on the creature revealing it to be...
"Ben!" Gwen said angrily as Wildvine just laughed as he used his Chlorokinesis/plant control to shape his body into something similar to a lake monster also using the moss in the lake
"Your so busted once I tell Grandpa!" Gwen said as she ran to the Rust Bucket
"Haha, I can't believe she fell for it!" Wildvine said while laughing "A monster in the lake how dumb can you be?" he asked rhetorically as he heard a noise behind him and looked and saw a creature then appear behind him as the creature grabbed him he managed to close the flytrap around his head before going under water
(mini A/N I was researching some of the aliens it doesn't say Wildvine can breathe under water so my idea for this if the flytrap is closed around his head he can breathe under water since he is a tree basically produces his own oxygen and he can see from the eyes of his shoulders, so he is not too good since he doesn't have any water abilities except for plant control)
as he was being pulled under, he tried to get out of its grasp he saw that the creature was grabbing one of his legs "Please have regeneration." Wildvine whispered as he made his arm sharp and cut his leg off and started swimming up as fast as he could using his vines to grab the top of the lake and pull himself up to the top as he decided to take a peek, he turns his shoulder to see if the creature was still there when he looked back, he saw it was gone as he got to the top he let out a sigh as he opened the flytrap on his head and then looked at his leg
"Well, it looks like its regrowing but slow hopefully this doesn't affect me when I detransform." Wildvine said as he trudged towards the Rust Bucket
"Note to self don't use Wildvine under water unless necessary. Second note to self-make the gun Grey Matter made waterproofed so it doesn't short circuit and electrocute myself. third note to self-see if Wildvine has enhanced intelligence or if it just so calm to be him that I can think more clearly." Wildvine then looked back down at his leg and saw it done healing
"Well, that's good at least for now." Wildvine said as he transformed back to normal and walked into the Rust Bucket and to bed
the next day
"You got to believe me I'm telling the truth!"
"Hey doofus you already did the lake monster stick remember?" Gwen asked
"No, this time it's true I had to cut off one of Wildvines legs to get out of its grasp!" Ben said
"Now Ben I'm sure it was just a big fish." Max said as Ben just pouted and walked ahead as he saw a bucket of worms he got an idea
he grabs a hand full of worms and shows it to Gwen "breakfast?" Ben asked
"Ewe Ben gross! What's with the bucket of slimies?" Gwen asked Max
"Bait." Max said
"Yea well I think I'm going to pass on the fishing thing I'll stay here and catch some sun." Gwen said
"Ok but you don't know what you're missing." Max said
"I'm pretty sure I do." Gwen muttered as she walked away
"Captain Shaw?" Max asked a man he has greyish-green hair on both the sides of his head as well sideburns his chin is stubbled, he is wearing a regular tan fisher jacket and olive pants he has a red baseball cap with a tan rectangle on it
"Who wants to know?" the man asked
"I'm Max Tennyson and this is my grandson, Ben." Max said as Ben waved
"Well, what're you waiting for an engraved invitation? Get aboard, I ain't got all day." Captain Shaw said as he walked to the helm of the boat as Ben eagerly went on the boat as Max followed
"Anything good to catch out there today?" Max asked
"More than you think." Shaw said as he saw Ben leaning over the boat "Looks like your boys using his breakfast as chum." Shaw said as Max went over to Ben
"You ok Ben?" Max asked while putting his hand on Bens back
"Yea I'm just looking out for the lake monster it won't get me by surprised next time." Ben said as he stopped leaning against the boat
"Now Ben this is a fishing trip not a monster hunt." Max said
Ben sighs "Ok grandpa." Ben said
"It's call the Krakken. Shaw said as he walked over to them
"Wow you know about it?" Ben asked excitedly
"It's my business to know." Shaw said as he hands Ben a picture of something reminiscent of the Loch Ness Monster "I've been on its tail for years. Folks say my rudder's not right."
"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Max said
"Sightings go back hundreds of years, on this very lake. Some say it's a myth... not me! I could take you to a spot where I personally laid eyes upon the beast. That is, if you've got the stomach for some real adventure!" Shaw said
Ben looks at Max with a smile "Please Grandpa." Ben said as Max reluctant agreed "Fine' Max said as Shaw turned the boat as Max and Ben followed him to the wheel of the boat "I have it all for looking for the monster Sonar, high-def video setup, ultrasound. I got it all. And I will find it. Mark my words, it can't hide forever." as Max pulled Ben to the side "Now Ben, I don't want you to put too much stock in what mister Shaw says. I don't think he has both oars in the water, if you know what I mean."
"Why? Just because he saw the Krakken too?" Ben said with a huff as he walked Max just frowned
a bit later
Max heard Shaw say "What's going on here" as Max went to the front of the boat and saw a blockade of buoys and tape
"Looks official maybe we should turn back." Max said
"Nonsense, this is my lake and I'll go wherever I-" Shaw said as a voice interrupted him
"Fishing boat! Stop where you are." said a man "I am Jonah Melville, the founder of 'Friends of Fish'. we've closed this section of the lake for an environmental study. You'll have to turn your boat around." the man now known as Jonah said "Suppose you make me, fish-hugger?" Shaw said in a confrontational tone
"Well, since I chartered the boat for the day, I believe I'm in charge. Isn't that right, Captain?" Max asked as Shaw grumbles and reluctantly makes his way up the boats wheel
"But what about the Krakken?" Ben asked as Jonah chuckled
"The Krakken? Not that old fish story? Look, I'm a marine biologist. Anyone who tells you they've seen a monster in this lake, is casting without a hook." Jonah said as he walked to the helm of the boat
Shaw's boat followed the 'Friends of Fish' boat to the dock as Shaw's sonar picks something up
"The sonar! We've found something!" Shaw said
"Or something's found us! Look!" Ben said pointing to a fin in the water as Shaw went over and saw it dip below the water as they saw a massive shadow under the water
"The Krakken!" Shaw yelled
"It's heading for the docks!" Max shouted as he and Ben then realized
"Gwen!" they shouted
The Krakken rushes towards land and Shaw tries to warn the dock-goers by ringing the ship's bell
meanwhile on the docks
"Ah finally a little sun, and with my big-mouth cousin nowhere in sight, I can just lay back and relax" Gwen said as she saw a fin in the water "How many times does that doofus think I'm gonna fall for this?" Gwen said as The Krakken rears out of the water, slumping back down and crushing the pier to pieces sending the people standing on it into the water Gwen pops back up to the surface and gasps "Thats not Ben." Gwen said as she and everyone else in the water started swimming to land
"I told ya! It's real! The Krakken lives!" Shaw yells
"Sail now gloat later. Max said as he brought Ben to the side
"Someone's got to rescue those people." Max said to Ben who nodded and went to a secluded area of the boat and activated the watch and scrolled trough the aliens
"Heatblast no Feedback no Diamondhead no Grey matter no Xlr8 no Upgrade no Wildvine no well I guess a new one is worth a try then." Ben said as he transformed with a green flash
his body turned red he grows a large yellow beak-like mouth golden like eyes white and black clothing on his shoulder and waist white braces around his wrists and ankles and small as he had white straps that led to his shoulders yellow retractable wings that resemble a glider in appearance which are connected to a 'jetpack'-like structure on his back as he also had bulges on his arms with holes in them as the Omnitrix was on his shoulder his feet had 2 toes in the front and one in the back and he had 3 talons like claws as hands he looked similar to a pterodactyl
"Wow what can you do? 'squawk'" Astrodactyl said as he ignored the squawk sound he made and looked himself over as he accidently let his wings come out and smirked, but he then accidently activated his jet pack and flew up
"aaahhhhh 'squawk' " Astrodactyl yelled a bit as he flew up and stabilized himself and sighed and then flew to the water and grabbed Gwen with his feet and brought her too land
"You all right?" Astrodactyl asked
"Yea." Gwen said as Astrodactyl flew off towards some more people and brought them back to land
meanwhile
"Get us out of here!" Jonah yelled to his crew as their boat started to drive off as the Krakken noticed them leaving and started following them and crashed against the boat making it rock greatly
"W-whoa!" Jonah shouted as he stumbled around
The Krakken rushes towards it again but is stopped by Astrodactyl who shot his arm out trying to stop it but accidently shoots a whip out grabbing the Krakken pulling it back out of instinct as the Krakken gets pulled back as Astrodactyl lands on the boat as the Krakken then sends out one of its tendrils to grab a crate on the boat
"No you don't!" Jonah cried out as he grabbed the crate as the Krakken pulled the crate as Astrodactyl grabbed the Krakkens tendril and tried flying the opposite way it was pulling as it used its other tendril to knock Astrodactyl away as he then lets out his whips and started slapping it multiple times as it let go and went back under water
"Thanks for the hand." Jonah said as he scratched the back of his head
"What's so important in that crate that you'd risk your life for it?" Astrodactyl asked a bit annoyed
"Um... Our lunch!" Jonah said
"You almost got munched for a few sandwiches?" Astrodactyl said even more annoyed
The Krakken then jumps out the water and grabs the crate while they're talking, bringing it back into the water before it can be stopped as it does as Astrodactyl activated his jet pack and flew up he was about to give chase but he then heard beeping " 'squawk' Sorry got to fly." Astrodactyl said as he flew away
"I think I'm going to make it." Astrodactyl said as he was almost there as a red flash then happened as Ben then went flying in the air and was caught by Max
"Thanks grandpa." Ben said as Max put him down
"Man, I should really work on those landings." Ben said as Max called for Shaw to go to the docks as Shaw was getting ready to shoot the Krakken with a harpoon "Next time you're in my sights, you won't be so lucky..." Shaw said as he went over to Ben and Max
later Campers and dock-goers are all packing up and leaving as it gets dark Ben Gwen and Max sit by a campfire
"See I told you so that was the same thing that tried to munch me last night Captain Shaw and I were right." Ben said to Gwen and Max
"Even though you and Mr. Shaw where right about the Krakken doesn't mean I was wrong about him I want you to stay away from that guy he's trouble." Max said
"You're just being stubborn." Ben said crossing his arms
"Yeah, don't you hate people like that?" Gwen asked rhetorically as she was drying herself off
"We'll leave this to the experts Ben, like those 'Friends of Fish' guys." Max said
"Experts? Who better to snag a lake-monster than the guy with the monster-buster on his wrist." Ben said while holding up his left arm
"I'm afraid this is just gonna have to be the one that got away." Max said as Shaw was walking by as they heard some of what he said
"...low-down no good fish kissers!" Shaw said to himself
"Captain Shaw, what is it?" Ben asked
"The nerve of those 'enviro-punks'! They shut down the entire lake! Nobody tells me where to sail, and nobody's gonna keep me away from reeling in the catch of the century. Nobody." Shaw said
later that night
A ship sails across the lake while the Rust Bucket sits nearby the pier Gwen knocks at the bathroom door
"Come on Ben! What did you do fall in?" Gwen yelled while knocking on the bathroom door as Max came over
"Ben I'm coming in." Max said waiting a couple seconds before opening the door seeing that the bathroom was empty
a bit ago on Shaw's boat before Max and Gwen found Ben missing
Shaw hears a noise behind him and went to see what it was
"Hey, no stowaways on my boat, even if you are only a filthy rat!" Shaw said as he lifts the tarp up seeing Ben
"Um? First mate Tennyson reporting for duty... sir?" Ben said as Shaw just growled a bit and just turned away "Your lucky I'm not going to turn back just because of a brat come on or are you just going to stay there?" Shaw asked annoyed at having a stowaway on board as Ben just frowned a bit but followed him non the less
present time
"She's probably been chased deep by our 'fishy friends'. Only one way to flush her out... with a little live bait." Shaw said as he finished putting on his diving suit
"Maybe I should go with you? Y'know, just in case?" Ben asked as he brought his hand to the Omnitrix unconsciously
"No need. I've got my dive body right here." Shaw said grabbing a harpoon gun "Wish me luck." Shaw said as he went in the water and dives down as Ben just looked around the boat and found a diving suit as he smirked
meanwhile with Shaw
Shaw was diving down as he shined his flashlight on the lakes bottom and looked around and saw a giant egg like thing as he heard a noise behind him and turned around and fired his harpoon at a figure, but it dodged revealing it to be Ben as he smiled nervously at Shaw as Shaw just waved him to look at the egg as he went back up to the surface and saw a boat next to his as he climbed up on his boat and was grabbed by a masked man
"Don't you know night diving is dangerous, old timer? Unless of course, you went with a friend." the masked man asked
"I work alone. I ain't got no friends." Shaw said as Ben was under the water listening to the conversation
"And with a sparkling personality like yours?" the masked figure asked rhetorically
"I haven't anything worth stealing either" Shaw said
"Ah, but you have us all wrong. All we want is information. Like, what did you see down there?" the masked man asked
"Nothin'. Same as always." Shaw said as the man punched him knocking him out as the masked man takes his mask off revealing himself to be Jonah
"Well... I have to be sure hurry up and get us back to the cannery!" Jonah shouted as Ben pops up out of the water and sees this and looks to the watch to see if it's possible to transform as he presses the button and sees the dial pops up as he smiles as he scrolled trough the playlist not noticing Jonah throw something on Shaw's boat and drive away as when Bens about to transform into Astrodactyl but an explosion went off as he saw pieces of Shaw's boat shanking in the lake as he swam down and dodged the pieces
"aaaaahhhhh!" Ben screamed as he dodged another piece and swam to the top of the lake as he slammed his hand on the watch dial and in a green flash, he was
"Xlr8? I wanted Astrodactyl stupid watch."Xlr8 said as he started moving "Well looks like I'll have to work with this." Xlr8 said as he started running on water
"Ok let's see how fast I can go." Xlr8 said as he sped up catching up to the boat as Jonah and his crew saw him
"I don't know what that thing is but kill it now!" Jonah shouted as his crew started shooting bullets at Xlr8 as he dodged them
"You'll have to do better than that." Xlr8 said as he jumped on the boat jabbing at one of the crew mates knocking him unconscious as Jonah grabbed Shaw and held him over the boat
"Hey speed lizard if you don't stop now, we might just have to dump the garbage in the lake." Jonah said with a smirk as Xlr8 put his visor up and glared at him
"You wouldn't dare." Xlr8 said in his raspy voice while hissing at him
"Try me." Jonah said as he lowered Shaw towards the water
"Fine." Xlr8 hissed out as Jonah smirked and dropped Shaw in the water as Xlr8 eyes widen as he jumped in the lake as Shaw's body was about to sink down as Xlr8 grabs him and before running away he used his sharp claws to cut a hole in the bottom of the boat as he ran away towards land with Shaw in his arms as he saw Max and Gwen on the shore, he tried to slow down but ended up going flying to the shore as Shaw was thrown up and landed on the RVs awning still unconscious as Xlr8 fell face first in on the ground as he groaned and rolled on his back "Note to self work on water running." Xlr8 muttered to himself as he pressed the symbol on his chest transforming back to normal as Gwen and Max walked over to him as Ben smiled nervously still in the diving suit
after a bit of Ben explained what happened and got out of the diving suit
"And the Krakken's nest was full of eggs! No wonder she's been attacking everything, Jonah must be stealing her eggs!" Ben said as Gwen was looking at her laptop
"And I think I know who Jonah is. I did a little checking on "Friends of Fish" and found out it's not listed on any environmental website, but I did find this." Gwen said as she turned her laptop towards Ben and Max "Jonah Melville isn't a friend to any kind of wildlife, he travels around the world poaching rare animals. then crates them up and sells them to private collectors." Gwen reed from the laptop
"Crates them up?" Ben said as he facepalmed "Oh man I bet that crate, the Krakken took off their boat, had her egg in it!" Ben said with a groan
"Looks like we were both a little too hardheaded." Max said
"We've got to stop them! They said something about going back to a cannery." Ben said as Shaw got up from the seat he was in
"All this talk doesn't change a thing mommy or not, that beast is mine. Let's go! I've a spare boat down at the docks." Shaw said as he opened the door and walked away towards his spare boat The three Tennysons exchange glances as they run to follow the exiting Shaw
"It'll take a while until the police can get here." Gwen said after she hanged the phone up as Shaw finished uniting the boat, he was about to step on it, but he noticed it leaving
"What're you doing? Get back here!" Shaw yelled to the three Tennysons who were on the boat
"Sorry, Captain!" Ben semi yelled
"You don't know what you're doing a monster's a monster, and I know a monster when I see one!" Shaw yelled to them as they disappeared in the fog as Shaw growled as he spotted a rowboat
meanwhile in a different area of the lake a crane pulls up a submarine suit holding an egg out of the water, setting the submarine down on the dock
Underwater, a clamp attaches to Melville's submarine pod, Krakken egg in tow, pulling him out of the water by a crane mechanism It lowers him onto the cannery dock, as he passes the egg to one of his crewmates
"Careful! Or you'll be cleaning up the world's most expensive omelette." Jonah said as the crewmate dumps the egg in a cylindrical glass container with another, before closing the lid. Jonah cradles the eggs through the container
"After we sell these babies to the highest bidder, we'll be kicking back on a beach in the Bahamas." Jonah said with a smirk
Underneath, Ben, Gwen, and Max arrive to a ladder entrance of the cannery
"See if you can find the eggs." Ben said as Gwen and Max nodded as Ben pulled something from his pocket and gave it to Gwen
"It's set on stun mode you're going to need it" Ben said seriously as Gwen nodded and took the gun grey matter made and looked at it for a moment before she and Max climbed up the ladder as Ben activated the watch and choose his alien as he hit the dial down transforming into Wildvine and used his vines to climb on the bottom of the floor above and used his camouflage ability to blend in with the wood but his eyes did not change color fully only turning a shade or two darker as suddenly the Krakken broke the boat he Gwen and Max where on as it went through the wood above the boat and was face to face with Jonah
Max and Gwen where hiding behind a crate as they heard a noise behind them as they look and saw the Krakken go to the top of the dock as they look over the crate and saw three men coming their way as Max did motions with his hands as Gwen nodded and readied the gun as the men went pass them without them seeing them Gwen aimed the gun and shot two red lasers at them making them fall over unconscious as Max and Gwen pulled them to the side out of sight
Wildvine was crawling on a wall towards Jonah and the Krakken as he saw them fighting Jonah was fighting in a submarine mech Whildvine grabbed one of his seed pods and threw it at Jonah as he caught it
"What's this supposes to be?" Jonah asked as the pod blew up in his mech hand making a hole in the mechs hand while also destroying all of the finger like claws as Jonah felt the blow go through the mech feeling numb as he looked around to see who threw that bomb plant thing at him but as he was looking around, he forgot about the Krakken as it grabbed him as it took the eggs from the container on his back it was about to use its massive teeth to chomp Jonah in half but suddenly the glass over Jonahs head was broken as vines pulled him out as the submarine mech was destroyed sending metal pieces everywhere as the Krakken looked around for Jonah as it saw Wildvine holding him
"Take your eggs and we will take care of him." Wildvine said as the Krakken swimed back under the water while holding her eggs
Max and Gwen came out from the bottom of the cannery as Gwen tossed the gun in the air as it flipped, as she caught it and smirked
"Ben did you take care of Jonah?" Max asked seeing Wildvine holding an unconscious Jonah
"Yea I got him." Wildvine said as he got on the ground "How many people where down there?" Wildvine asked
"There was only three people." Gwen said as Wildvine stretched his arm out and used his fingers to search for the people
"I'll find them give me a minute." Wildvine said
a couple hours later Ben Max and Gwen were watching Jonah and his men being hauled away by the police Ben smirked as he Max and Gwen heard something behind them as they looked, they saw Shaw rowing a boat to the docks with a scowl on his face "H-hey captain Shaw you, ok?" Ben asked as Shaw just glared "Where's my boat?" Shaw asked
"Oh um... about that the Krakken kind of... destroyed it." Ben said sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head as Shaw growled as he walked away
"W-wait don't you want that diving suit back?" Ben asked
"Keep it." Shaw growled out as he walked away
"Well that went better than I thought." Ben said as he turned to the Rust Bucket "So where are we heading next?" Ben asked as Max chuckled and Gwen just followed them to the Rust Bucket
and thats the end of this chapter how did everyone like it and also the chapters will probably be around 3000 to 5000 words and the uploads will probably be 1 or 2 new chapter every month or so and since school is here well yea and heres the known aliens
