chapter 5 Hunted
I hope everyone enjoyed chapter 4 so here's chapter 5 enjoy
the screen zooms into a spaceship orbiting Earth's atmosphere as spotlights highlight 3 figures
"Begin the audition." a raspy voice said from a speaker
The first immediately fires up a jetpack and lands in a circle of basic combat drones he pulls a small blaster from a compartment on his joint and shoots a few drones down as a few fires back as he rolls out of the way and fires small rockets from his wrist in retaliation. He pulls a grenade out of another compartment for a cluster of drones. The second bounty hunter jumps down to join, pounding one on his way down, grabbing another with a massive claw and using them as a projectile against another. Two more come rushing as he catches one with his claw and pulls out a sword to split the other in two as a platform opens up on the ceiling and a gigantic drone falls to the floor ready to fire at the two as It's now the third bounty hunters turn. He unfolds a hoverboard and rides it right into the massive drone's laser blast. When the smoke clears, he is completely unharmed without a moment to lose, he flies into the drone's chest and punches right through it. He folds his hoverboard back up, right as a projection of a healing Vilgax
"Impressive you are all hired your objective is to retrieve the Omnitrix." Vilgax said labored as a picture of the Omnitrix showed "The one who succeeds collects the reward. Do not disappoint me." Vilgax said as a couple minutes later 3 pods jettison from Vilgax's ship and fall to Earth
On Earth Max has finished building a small target practice structure of strung up tires and soda cans
"You ready?" Max asked Ben who nods as he activated the Omnitrix and slammed his hand down on the dial transforming into
Diamondhead
"Remember to think out their Ben don't just try to muscle it might isn't always right!" Max shouted to Diamondhead
"I know but that's what Grey Matter is for he's the brain guy." Diamondhead said as he forms his hand into spikes
Max pulls a lever sending six cans flying in the air. Diamondhead shoots six crystals at the cans all hitting their mark piercing each one. Max makes target boards lower behind Diamondhead who spins around and shoots crystals at them. Diamondhead getting excited shoots cans from behind his back and a target cactus in front. With a smirk he somersaults and nails some pull-up targets a fair distance away. He turns his spikes back into his hand to blow on his finger. Gwen watches him from a lounge chair, applying sunscreen
"Show off..." Gwen said
"Focus, Ben. Think!" Max shouted so Diamondhead could hear
"Don't worry, Grandpa I got this." Diamondhead said as some cans come flying at him as he bobs out of the way as he hears a wind sound like something's coming towards him as he punched the ground with his hand making a crystal-like dome around him although it was far from perfect due to all the jagged edges and random indents on it as the tire hit the dome like structure it popped on a pointy bit of the dome sending rubber flying in all directions. Gwen quickly hid behind a table she set up as Max managed to escape the flying rubber bits to
Diamondhead let the dome go back into the ground as he grinned sheepishly
"Sorry Grandpa." Diamondhead said while rubbing the back of his head. Gwen was coming out of the spot she hid in "Next time you decide to shield yourself why don't ya I don't know warn us to." Gwen said annoyed
"Ok Ben next time try dodging or just work on that defense." Max said
"Wanna test another alien now?" Diamondhead asked
"No Ben we need to get back on the road." Max said
Diamondhead nodded as he pressed the symbol on his chest and detransformed. Ben walks over to the Rust Bucket with Max
"Do you want me to clean this all up?" Ben asked
"Yea better if we clean this up so nobody sees this." Max said
"I'm going to go in the Rust Bucket and get some water." Gwen said as she walked in the Rust Bucket
"Hm probably should go Xlr8 or Ditto or maybe Wildvine?" Ben said as he waited for the Omnitrix to recharge
"Why don't you use Xlr8 kiddo." Max suggested
"Yea your probably right Grandpa." Ben said as suddenly he felt water hit his back
"Ahh." Ben said surprise as he turned around and saw Gwen with her water gun
"Thats for almost hitting me with rubber." Gwen said with a smirk
"Once this thing recharges you are so getting it." Ben said as Mas sighed
"And here I thought they were growing on each other." Max said as Ben looked down at the Omnitrix and saw it green
"Ill deal with you later Dweeb." Ben said as he activated the watch and scrolled past a couple silhouettes as he got to the one, he wanted he slammed his hand down on the dial in a green flash he was
Feedback
Feedback looked himself over for a second " Aw man come on I wanted Xlr8 Ditto or Wildvine stupid watch." Feedback said as he pressed the symbol on his chest and in a green flash he was
Grey Matter
"You have got to be kidding me. Grandpa a little help please." Grey Matter asked as Max picked Grey Matter up with his hand
"Looks like I'll have to use brain over brawn because of the watch Gwen can you bring me the gun I made?" Grey Matter asked
"I guess but what can that help you with?" Gwen asked as she got the gun and gave it to Grey Matter
"After that complication with me getting lost in Aunt Veras Neiborhood while I was trying to get back, I turned into Grey Matter a couple times and modified the gun a bit to suit this transformation better." Grey Matter said as he pressed a couple buttons as the guns parts suddenly moved around to make like a mini mech that had one hand as a gun and the other a claw' the feet where just the guns handle in half as the top had a mini metal like seat where holes where made for Grey Matters hands
"How did you even make this?" Gwen asked confused as Max put Grey Matter and the mini mech on the ground
"Oh I had to take apart my game system and the gun to make this luckily I managed to not mess anything up on the game system." Grey Matter said as he climbed into the mini mech and was surprisingly fast as he picked up all of the Diamondhead's shards and destroyed the cans with the gun hand
5 minutes later Grey Matter managed to pick all the shards up as he got out of the mini mech and pressed a couple buttons as the claw drops the shards as he presses the symbol on his back detransforming in a green light
"Finally, its over yes." Ben said as he picked up the crystals and brought them over to Max and Gwen and into the Rust Bucket and stored the crystals in a drawer
"Ok let's go now." Max said as Gwen sat down at the table as Max went to the drivers seat and sat down and started driving as Gwen put the gun on the table since Ben forgot
"I'm going to take a nap Grandpa." Ben said as he got in the bed
30 minutes later at Max's target-practice structure
"This is where the Omnitrix was last activated." the Hoverboard hunter said
meanwhile on a cliff with SixSix and Kraab
SixSix says something in an alien language then flies over to Hoverboard with his jetpack
"You can say that again. A rock pile like this is better off space dust!" Kraab said
Hoverboard continues tracking inside the structure
"There's no trace of anything that would indicate it being here " Hoverboard said as he saw tire tracks and got on his hoverboard "Except for that." he said as he was about to follow the tracks
"Where do ya think you're going?" Kraab asked
"To get the bounty." Hoverboard said as he flew forward on his hoverboard and followed the tire tracks
SixSix says something
"Big talk from a gearhead" Kraab said as he leaps up and spins his four legs very fast, acting like a drill and burrowing into the ground. SixSix flew off using his jetpack
back with the trio of Tennysons
Ben was just waking up as he yawned and rubbed his eyes as he got up and looked out the window and only saw the baron land of a desert with rocks and mountains mixed in as he went to the front of the Rust Bucket
"Hey Grandpa, how long was I asleep for?" Ben asked
"About 30 minutes." Max said without looking from the road
Ben saw Gwen was at the table in the Rust Bucket on her computer. Ben decided to go to the back of the RV
"Hm maybe I can use Grey Matter to make a phone or something." Ben said to himself. He grabs his game system. he activates the watch and turns the dial to the alien he wants as he slams his hand down on the dial as he transforms in to
Upgrade
"Aw man. I guess this can work" Upgrade said as he merges with the game system changing it to look more phone like as the screen shifted to be a bit smaller. a pad grew below the screen with a couple buttons. overall, it looked like a normal phone the odd thing about it is it has a strange compartment on the side that looks like a place for a DVD but smaller yet can fit something big inside as Upgrade demerges with the new phone like device
"Now all I need is to use Grey Matter for the final touches." Upgrade said with a sigh as. he hits the symbol on his chest detransforming. Ben decided to look out the window as he sees there's a deserted town as he goes to the front of the RV
"Hey Grandpa, there's a town over there think we can check it out?" Ben asked. Max looks to the town as he sighs
"I don't see why not I have to refill the fuel soon anyways." Max said as he turns towards the town and drives to it
15 minutes later they were in the town
"Huh, looks like nobody's home." Ben said looking around the ghost town
"Not for a while. My IntelliMap program says this is Slaterville. Incorporated in 1857 after the discovery of silver. Went bust in the late '50s when the mine ran out." Gwen said reading from her computer
"Sounds like a real nice place to live to." Ben said sarcastically as they got out of the Rust Bucket
"Ima go explore see ya later." Ben said as he walked away
"Should I follow him?" Gwen asked Max
"No Bens will be fine." Max said
Ben was looking was holding his new phone and making sure it works. he turns it on by pressing a button from the side as the screen turned on and just showed a home screen only 2 things on it a settings app and the game that was played on the game system
"Ok so basically all I have on it is one game and setting." Ben said with a sigh. he looked at the watch wondering if he should use Grey Matter now or later to get the phone useable as a phone. as he walks around the ghost town. he walks in an abandon building. he sees a control panel that controlled something
"I wonder if anything here even works anymore?" Ben thought to himself as he went to the panel and looked at all the buttons before randomly pressing a button. Ben waited a moment to see if anything would happen. as Ben was beginning to get board of waiting, he heard a crash as the ground shook as Ben stumbled a bit as he looked around for a minute before seeing a cloud of dust and gained a confused look as he readied his hand to activate the watch and transform
"Hand over the Omnitrix and I promise you won't suffer... much." a figure said from the dust cloud as it slowly dissipated around the figure revealing a robot crab figure also known as Kraab
Ben deciding not to ask a question in human form quickly activates the watch and turns the dial and presses it down transforming into
Ghostfreak
"Ghostfreak I was hoping for Diamondhead or Heatblast but he will do and what's an Omnitrix?" Ghostfreak thought to himself
"What's an Omnitrix crabby?" Ghostfreak asked trying to be intimidating
"An Ectonurite. This will be easy prey." Kraab said as Ghostfreak for some reason he felt a lot of anger which confused him but decided not to question it
"You have no idea who you're messing with." Ghostfreak hissed out as he went invisible. Kraab activates his thermographic vision and is able to detect Ghostfreak who is flying at his left side. Kraab grabs Ghostfreaks fist
"Like I said before easy prey." Kraab said as Ghostfreak went intangible to get out of Kraabs grasp. Kraab aimed his claw at Ghostfreak. Kraab fires from his large claw an orange liquid. It lands on Ghostfreak making him visible and tangible
"Blech! What happened?!" Ghostfreak asked
"Your protoplasm is now solidified, making it easier to do THIS!" Kraab said as he winds up a punch Ghostfreak goes flying back. he groans as he gets back up
"You may be able to take on me, but can you take on-" Ghostfreak said "Hope this works." Ghostfreak thought as he presses the symbol on his chest transforming into
Heatblast
"-Heatblast?" Heatblast said relived that he didn't get Grey Matter or Ditto since they aren't good for this fight
the orange liquid that was on Ghostfreak was evaporated when he turned into Heatblast. Heatblast throws a fire ball at Kraab who dodges but Kraab was caught off guard as Heatblast punches him. Kraab stumbles back and snarls at him
meanwhile back at the Rust Bucket Gwen hears something breaking
"Grandpa I think Bens done something." Gwen said as Max came out of the RV as suddenly, they saw a stream of fire coming from an abandon building side
"Let's check it out." Max said as they went to the abandon building
back with Heatblast he just tried to hit Kraab with a flamethrower but missed. Heatblast threw a couple fire balls at Kraab who dodged almost all of them but got hit in one of his legs doing barley any damage except for it being scorched with a small dent in the leg Heatblast had an idea he put his hands behind himself as he fired 2 fire beams from his palms making him fly forward towards Kraab as he put his foot out kicking Kraab in the chest making him fall back
Gwen and Max run in the abandon building as they saw Heatblast
"Ben what happened?" Max asked
"We need to go." Heatblast said as the three went to the Rust Bucket as Heatblast timed out while going to it
Max was driving the Rust Bucket as Ben explained what happened
"And then that wired crab guy said to give him something called the Omnitrix." Ben said
"Hey doofus he was probably was talking about the watch." Gwen said as they suddenly feel a tumble on the roof. A circular blade saw starts cutting open the ceiling
"I think we picked up a hitch hiker!" Ben said as the roof was ripped open revealing SixSix
SixSix said something in an alien language
SixSix starts reaching for Ben. Max slams the brakes, causing SixSix to fall off in front of the RV. Max confidently hits the gas, running over him. but his smile fades as the RV comes to a stop right after. he gets out and sees the tires are all deflated, having been covered with spikes. SixSix starts getting up. quickly searching for some cover, Max points to a mine entrance
"In there!" Max shouted as the trio run in but before SixSix can chase them tremors interrupt him their source, Kraab, erupts from the ground
"Remember me?!" Kraab asked as he slammed down on SixSix
inside the abandoned mine, the Tennysons steer a corner and stop to catch their breath. Ben slowly peers around it. He can see outside, no one is at the entrance
"I think were safe." Ben said as Kraab then bursts out of the ground inside
"Don't you get tired of being wrong all the time?!" Gwen said as she backed up a bit
"The Omnitrix! Give it to me!" Kraab ordered as Ben looked at the watch and saw it still in the red Ben grabs something from his pocket and then quickly pointed his gun at Kraab and shooting it at him in the face knocking him back a bit. the three then go deeper into the mine
Ben was tapping the Omnitrix's activation button
"Come on, do something. Anything!" Ben said as Gwen who Ben gave the gun to was shooting backwards trying to slow down Kraab. they come out and in the center of the mine that's an open chasm trapping them
"Now what?" Gwen said as Max looks around and spots a cable car
"We take a ride." Max said as they went to it
Ben and Gwen jump in, while Max starts the car by pulling a lever. Kraab has nearly caught up to them, but Max manages to get the car going and leap across the gap and catch the car as it goes across
"What a pathetic excuse for prey!" Kraab said
prepares to cut the cable with his claw but is shot backward by SixSix. SixSix flies after the car, shooting at it and knocking the Tennysons off their feet. Gwen peers above the car and sees SixSix gaining on them
"We got company closing in fast!" Gwen said
"We need a plan!" Max said as the Omnitrix finally timed in
"No time Grandpa its hero time." Ben said as he quickly chooses his alien and transforms into
Astrodactyl
Astrodactyl quickly flew up into the sky and intersected SixSix by using his energy whip
"Hey tin can 'squawk' Why doncha pick on someone your own size." Astrodactyl said as SixSix launched a missile at him
Astrodactyl dodged it as he used his whip to redirect the missile and making it go to SixSix who got hit in the side of his jetpack suddenly started falling down into the dark abyss below
Astrodactyl smirked as he flew above the tracks Max and Gwen where on following them into a dark tunnel the only lighting being his jetpack
5 minutes later Astrodactyl made it out of the mine shaft and saw Slaterville
'squawk' " Back here again?" Astrodactyl questioned as he flew towards the town as he landed on top of a building looking for Max and Gwen when he hears someone behind him
"Billions of beings on this planet, and the Omnitrix winds up on the wrist of a child." Hoverboard said as Astrodactyl quickly turned around and saw a figure on a hoverboard
Aw great 'squawk' not another one." Astrodactyl said
"And this thing doesn't come off y'know." Astrodactyl said
"Of COURSE, it doesn't. Its power utilizes alien DNA, which binds to the host's own genetic structure. It cannot simply be removed like taking off a hat." Hoverboard said
"This guy looks tough." Astrodactyl thought
"So, what do ya 'squawk' want the watch." Astrodactyl questioned
"The Omnitrix is not some toy. It's the most powerful weapon in the galaxy. The key to an epic battle between good and evil." hoverboard said
"Then 'squawk' who's side are you on?" Astrodactyl asked
"Your still alive, aren't you?" Hoverboard said
"You're a 'squawk' good guy?!" Astrodactyl said surprised
"My mission is to retrieve the Omnitrix at all costs. Since it is attached to you, I will bring you back for its removal." Hoverboard said
'squawk' " No way I'm not going anywhere!" Astrodactyl said protesting
"It's not your choice." Hoverboard said as Astrodactyl readied his hand for something as Hoverboard was on defense
"It 'squawk. is now!" Astrodactyl said as he activated his energy whip and whipped at Hoverboard who blocked and jumped off of his hoverboard as it deactivates and was going to fall to the ground but to Hoverboards surprise Astrodactyl used his other whip to grab it and retracted it back and into his hand
"I'm 'squawk' guessing you need this." Astrodactyl said as he smirked the best this form can
"I will admit you are smarter than I first thought." Hoverboard said
'squawk' "I know I can't defeat you without going 'squawk' another alien, so my best chance is to fly." Astrodactyl said as he flew up and was about to fly to the area he knew the Rust Bucket was in when a laser blast flew right past him
"You're not going anywhere." Kraab said as he and SixSix had Max and Gwen with them
"Hands off." Max said
"Let me go." Gwen said as Kraab was holding Ben's gun
"See, we've decided to work together! And split the reward...and you in half!" Kraab said as he clamps his claw. Astrodactyl flinches a bit glad he was in alien form suddenly a beeping sound came from his shoulder as a red flash happened turning him back into Ben
"Uh we can talk about this right?" Ben asked nervously as Hoverboard retracted his mask revealing Diamondhead's species
SixSix says something
"Don't blow a gasket, metal-mouth. I know what I'm doing." Kraab said as Ben who still has Hoverboards hoverboard throws it in front of him hoping it will work as it activates Ben smiles and jumps on it trying to balance on it before accidently going forward
"W-wow!" Ben said as the hoverboard stopped in mid air
"I'll get the Omnitrix you take him on." Kraab said as he went after Ben who was going in all directions trying to get control of the hoverboard
Hoverboard blocking several blasts from SixSix as they started battling
Ben was barley managing to dodge the guns blast as he goes left and right
"Come on watch time in." Ben said desperately as the Omnitrix suddenly like responding to him times in
"Uh... thanks?" Ben said surprise that the watch is green but thankful as he activates it and turns the dial and slams his hand down on the device transforming into
Wildvine
Wildvine wraps his legs around the hoverboard and manages to control it and flew towards Kraab. Kraab shoots some more blast at Wildvine but whatever hits that hit where immediately regenerated
"Hey crabby why doncha lose some weight!" wildvine said as he slashed at Kraab with his fingers that he sharpened a bit leaving a 4-inch cut in Kraabs claw arm while also taking his gun back as Kraabs crab arm seemed to of been powered down making it useless
back with Hoverboard and SixSix
Hoverboard fired some crystals at SixSix who dodged but didn't notice one crystal shard ricochet off of a steel beam and hit his jetpack making it sputter out
SixSix says something in an alien language that could possibly be translated to "Not again"
SixSix fell to the ground as Hoverboard kicked him in the head knocking him out
back with Wildvine he was trying to wrap Kraab up in his vines despite Kraabs useless arm he managed to avoid or tear the vines with his other hand
"You cant do this forever once the Omnitrix times out you'll be a sitting duck." Kraab growled out
wildvine was getting a bit tired from trying to grab Kraab and regenerating hes been doing
"Hes right I can't do this for much longer unless I can surprise him."Wildvine thought
Kraab was distracted by all the vines as Wildvine pressed the symbol on his chest hoping for a useful alien in a flash of green he transforms
Kraab shielded his eyes from the green flash that surprised him as suddenly plug like appendage stabbed his sparking claw absorbing the electricity from it. Kraab quickly spinning his legs to push whatever grabbed him away. the plug appendage quickly zipped away from Kraab making him stop spinning his legs and looks at his new adversary revealing it to be Feedback
"I hope you're not to shocked." Feedback said jokingly as Kraab glared at Feedback who started to shoot electricity at him unfortunately for him he couldn't dodge or block it
"Aw-" Kraab was about to say something as he got hit by electricity and then was hit by a punch from Feedback knocking him out. Feedback smirked as he flew the hoverboard to Max and Gwen
"You guys, ok?" Feedback asked
"Were fine kiddo." Max said as they heard a beeping sound as the symbol on his chest flashes red a couple times as a flash of red happens as Ben was now on the hoverboard
"You did well for a human." Hoverboard said making Ben accidently fall off the hoverboard and fall on his back
"Ow..." Ben said with a groan as he notices Hoverboard holding 2 cube like objects
Ben gets up
"What are those?" Ben asked
"Cube cages there meant to transport people or objects." Hoverboard said as he grabs the hoverboard in the air
"I'll return as soon I can." Hoverboard said
"What about this?" Ben asked holding up his left hand showing the Omnitrix
"It's in good hands until then." Hoverboard hands Ben the hoverboard "This may be of some use in the meantime." Hoverboard said
"Oh, man! Are you serious?!" Ben asked as he then got a confused look "Wait don't you need this to like get off the planet." Ben asked
"No but I shall be going now." Hoverboard said
"Wait what's your name?" ben asked
"My name is Tetrax and a bit of advice there is a holographic manual on the bottom of the hoverboard." Tetrax said as he activated his helmet and then somehow turns red and disappear
meanwhile in space Vilgax sees Tetrax leaving the Earth
"Betrayed" Vilgax said angered
"Sensors indicate the Omnitrix is not with the mercenaries." a Robotic Lieutenant said
"It would appear the creature who possesses the Omnitrix is as clever as it is fierce. But I shall not be denied." Vilgax said
ok that's it for this chapter it took me a bit to figure out what to write since I kept going back again and again but finally found the right way to write this chapter I hope everyone likes this chapter and heres some review responses the () is to say who the review is from and if you don't want a response or want me to remove one from this chapter just leave a review and anyone have an idea for what to call the gun I could use some advice
(kashriramji) I'm going to be honest I'm confused by your review sorry but from readding it I am thinking of using some of your ideas and the art direction is basically classic designs and for aliens that aren't from the classic I basically will change the design to match the classic like Astrodactyl instead of green its white and the black is the same
