Her breathing felt short, as she cornered him into the dark maze. The excitement running through her as she grab blindly on to his shirt. Pulling him closer to her as his breath hit her face "now pucker up." Thinking it go the usual resistance turn to shock as she felt his lips unto her own, her day dreams becoming reality. She stood there as he brushed against her in a hurry walking away, feeling his presence disappearing as she tried to reach for him. "Wait Edd!" Confused on what just occurred
Her mind replayed the moment as she walked out where Lee and May stood waiting. Lee voice broke her trance "Those Ed's sure love to play hard to get" Marie blushing "They sure do." The sisters smiling as they walked back to their trailer home. "Mom, we're back." All three saying it as they begin taking off their shoes, kicking them off into any direction. "May watch it, will ya!." As the shoe hit her leg. "Oop's, sorry Marie" looking regretful as her big smile return. Lee stood up digging her hand around their solo couch "Where is it? Wait, here it is." Pulling out the televison remote; turning it on their favorite channel while lowering the volume as the loud sound almost escaping into the quiet trailer as the sisters whispering a recap of what happened with the Ed's.
"You see the way their reaction when they looked up." Marie letting out a quiet laugh as Lee joined in "Trying to run so fast inside whatever they're making." "Gosh Ed is so strong. You way see the way he grabbed Edd and Eddy without breaking a sweat" May excitement peaking as she did her best to control it as both her sister gave her signs, laying back on their couch. Lee taking over the conversation, Marie listen until her mind wander to the moment inside as Lee said "Pitch black in there, lucky for me and May we got them from running inside." As she leaned closer giving them a big grin as she continue "Kept struggling but accepted what they had coming to them." Marie was completely lost now as she thought of how it could of went if Edd had stayed a little longer with her. He didn't say anything to her, must of been really shy which contradicted what he did as she realized that both her sister's silently staring at her. "Marie, did you hear me?" "Not really, zoned out Lee." Her blunt response making Lee focus on Marie analyzing her until she sat back letting out a sigh of frustration.
"We only got your man and May's, mine got inside." Marie felt chills as she sat up fast from the couch making Lee a little jumpy as Marie did her best to mask her face of any reaction. May who long faded to the background wasn't missing anything as she ask in concern "Marie are you okay, did something happen?" She calm her nerves as she look at them "No." Shaking her head "It was to dark to see anything and didn't know who was inside, got a little scared by Eddy but wasn't sure it was him until now." Marie did her best to lie and it seem to work but now the pressure was on as something was off to Lee. It didn't help her mind was losing it as she is trying to comprehend why as Lee was about to say something. "Are you girls hungry?" Their mom stepping in, changing the entire mood as she walk into the living room letting a small yawn. Time went as Marie now sat at their table eating what their mom had cooked, she been on and off replying listening how her mom day at work went as she couldn't help but drown out the noise of everyone in her own thoughts.
Their mom in turn listen as she ask her daughter's about their day even about the Ed's and Marie carefully answered to not set herself up for later on with Lee, when she couldn't take any more Marie excuse herself as she walk into their bathroom, making sure the door is lock as it was her only privacy as she saw her reflection in the mirror slowly with her right hand gently touching her lips. She kissed Eddy. At the time she thought it was Double D, the way he passionately press his lips against her own recalling a lot of things that made sense now. She twist the knob to release the water, testing the temperature until it felt right until filling up the bath. Taking her clothes off and into a hamper as she lay herself into the warm water, staring at the ceiling wondering what she should do.
It wasn't very long before her sister's knock "Marie, you're not the only one live here! Get out already!" The loud splash as she got up from her bath " You don't have to yell Lee I'll be out soon!" She her angry tone echo as she grab a towel to dry off. Truth be told she would of laid there for hours as it brought her peace and a sort of self counseling for her every day. When she got into her pajamas, she saw May and Lee on their phones looking at their social media. Somehow even with the worse reputation they have everyone in Peach Creek had added each other as friends. "Look, here's Eddy flexing. Do you see the muscle on him May." Taking a glimpse she notice something as she look back "Doesn't compare to Ed, Lee." Marie knew it from experience but May can be very sharp for someone who doesn't play the part.
"What do you think Marie?" Lee giving her a side glance. "Yeah, what do think about my man." She saw the picture of the Ed's at the beach and she didn't seem to feel anything from looking. "He's got alright arms, nothing to drool over." When she look at Edd the spark igniting in her as she saw the boy and flicker away when she look at Eddy. Marie bit her lip at what pop in her mind resisting it as Lee prop herself up sitting on her bed. "I've bee hearing some rumors on that guy Marie." Her smile disappearing."Think he hooked up with the blonde cheerleader at our school." Marie frowning as she had heard the same in school and could of swore she saw them together today.
"What can you do, that's life." Trying her best to stay strong as Lee and May went to hug her. "Well I'm sure you'll find yourself a man who'll want you Marie, I'm sure of it. She return back to her bed laying down as all three began doing the same as May reach for the lights sending their room into darkness as they said their good night to each other. She tried but it was about an hour as Marie could hear May and Lee sleeping while she struggle. She ended up on her phone as she scroll down into her social media account, hiding the light with her bed sheet and dimming her screen. Marie couldn't resist but to check out Eddy on his account as she tried her best to deny what she thought of him.
This and the fact that her attempts at Double D was fruitless but at the same time knowing what this could do to Lee. It might affect their relationship as well and she wasn't sure about anything. A notification getting her attention of Eddy came up on his page of a song from a rapper name LL Cool J as she sat there looking at the title "I need love." What surprised her more than that was a message from him "Can we meet and talk? I want to tell you this in person." She panic getting off her account as fast as possible and put her phone to charge. She knew it's irrational but for the entire night contemplating on what to do when she finally drifting off to sleep with her last thought 'I won't hurt Lee'.
Somewhere outside Eddy sat in a chair outside his home as he sent that exact message. He had gone outside to get a clear view of the night sky, thinking it would help. 'Hope Marie responds, this got my heart pumping like crazy. Can't believe I did it.' He sat looking at his phone while tapping his finger on the chair with an intensity to seeing that Marie went offline. He waited as she might be thinking of what to message him back as he got up the seat to walk a little around the cul del sac. It went from five to ten and eventually an hour had gone as his eye's had a hard time staying open, Eddy put his phone in his pocket as his lip tremble wishing for rain right now.
