EPISODE 6: YUMI'S NEW RESOLVE! SORA VS YUMI!

The computer speaks again.

'THE DEFEATED CONTESTANTS WILL NOW BE ESCORTED OUT OF THE ARENA. LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE DUELISTS SHORTLY.'

Minato bid his goodbyes to Yumi

'I'm sorry I couldn't defeat him… I got you into this mess and all'

'You did all you could,' Yumi put her hand on his shoulder. 'Don't give up like that ever again, got it?'

Minato smiled 'Okay.'

Minato, Naki, Ryo Zeta, Lois Magner and Loid Myster were walked out of the arena.

…

Yumi pondered what just happened over a Protein bar,

'WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO NOW?'

'I… End… My…. Turn…'

'To fall for an enemy and serve them like a friend…

Finish off this Disgrace, Twin Burst...'

'She thougt to herself of the way Mirai manipulated Minato into making that first attack on the Maiden.

'Just what does he have against us?' She thinks, squeezing the bar tightly. 'I'll defeat him, for Minato's sake too.'

'What a disappointment, acting so High and Mighty. Only to lose in the end!' She heard Rinne speak, from beside her. 'I despise dull duelists like him.

Yumi squeezed her Protein Bar 'Take that back.' She said, angry

'Oh! Did I trigger you, girl?' Rinne taunted. 'Good. A duelist with a grudge is the best kind of duelist, since you and I are gonna be next- '

'Who says it's you and her?' Sora spoke, swallowing on a big chunk of food. 'It could be me!'

Sora leaned into Yumi 'You're better than him, right?'

'My friend fought with all he had- '

'Yeah, but he lost. He just clung to his summons, hoping that one would do something for him. It's okay though, duelists like him get better eventually! You're better than him, right?'

Yumi, still slightly angry, nodded as she walked away from them, walking into the path to the Arena, hiding until the computer spoke:

'HERE ARE THE MATCUPS:

SORA SHUNIN VS YUMI HITO, THEN WINNER AGAINST RINNE MINORU

'THE B BLOCKS CONSIST OF:

KAZARI MIKORU VS RYURU MIKAN, THEN WINNER AGAINST MIRAI KAIBA

GOOD LUCK, DUELITST'

Sora walked to the arena, and so did Yumi.

'Let's see how good you are!' Sora smiled, as his Duel disk activated

Yumi remained silent, as their surrounding changed to a dark city on a storybook. Toon World.

Sora begins first

'I activate the continuous spell: TOY VENDOR! It allows me to discard a card and draw a new one, revealing it, and special summoning another card!'

A toy vendor, with a massive tongue appeared from the pavement.

'I'll discard a card two activate its ability!'

A capsule begins to roll out of the machine, as Yumi begins to run to building, jumping up the spiral staris beside some to find Action Cards.

'I wonder what It'll be, I wonder…It's Fluffal Leo! I'll special summon FLUFFAL OWL in defence! which allows me to add POLYMERIZATION to my hand!'

The capsule flew into the air, as a cute Owl appeared from it. Sora tucked the Polymerization card, a blue and orange swirl, into his hand

'Now I summon Edge Imp Sabres!'

A mass of massive aligned scissors appeared, its dark eyes shining

'I'll end my turn at that!

Yumi draws, already finding an action card.

'I summon Zoroa, the Magistus of Flame, and Equip him with Artemis the Magistus Moon Maiden, adding Rilliona, the Magistus of Verre to my hand!'

The moon shines upon Zoroa and the new figure, Verre, the glass-ornament-decorated witch.

'Now, I use Zoroa's effect to summon her from my hand, and TUNE THEM TOGETHER!'

They turned into electronic circles once again, as Yumi began her chant:

'SHINE LIKE BURNING STARS AND BREAK THROUGH EVEN THE DEEPEST DARKNESS!'

Once again, A Colossal red titan, with runes upon his body, wings sprouting from his back with flaming arms emerges from the circles

'SYNCHRO SUMMON! COME FORTH, LEVE 8, ZOROA, THE MAGISTUS CONFLRANGANT CALAMITY!'

'I attack your Edge Imp Sabres!'

Sora dashes to an alley, quickly coming back.

'Action card! Big escape! I end the battle phase!' Sora teased, as Zoroa stood down.

Fine, then I activate Magistus Theurgy, Equipping Zoroa with Vahram's, and end my turn.

The dragon appeared, as a small, Chibi-like being on Zoroa's shoulder.

'My turn!' Sora draws

'I summon, FLUFFAL BEAR!'

A fluffy bear with cute wings appears on the field

'This means… the strategy he performed from the last duel!'

'Now I'll use Polymerization, fusing Edge Imp Sabres and Fluffal bear!'

The two blurred together, as Sora raised his hands above them

'POWER OF THE DEMON AND CLAWS OF THE BEAST! BLUR TOGETHER AND SHOW YOUR NEW FORM!

Suddenly, a cut-up abomination, a cross between teddy and scissors, came out of the blur, scissors coming out of its ripped-apart stomach

'FUSION SUMMON! FRIGHTFUR BEAR!'

'Now I set a card face-down, and discard a card, activating the effect of Toy vendor!

The toy vendor opened its mouth a dark chain flying out.

'Nice! I'll summon the card I got, Edge Imp Chain in defence!'

'I end my turn!'

Yumi draws.

'I summon Endymion, the Magistus of Mastery!'

The master appears, nodding at Zoroa.

'I attack your Frightfur Bear with Zoroa!'

As Zoroa is about to attack, A box pops up and a spring-loaded fist punches Zoroa.

'I activate the set trap card: Punch in the box! I negate that attack, and use its effect to destroy Zoroa!'

Zora shatters.

'Then I activate Zoroa's effect, sacrificing Endymion to summon him back to the field!

Its attack is still higher than your bear. NOW, FLAMES OF ULTIMATIUM!'

The flames hit the bear, destroying it.

SORA: 3100

'I end my turn!

Sora frowns, drawing once again.

'I discard a card to activate Toy Vendor!'

The vendor spits something out, only for it to roll across the ground.

'No! It's not a Fluffal or Edge Imp monster! I'll have to discard that card, and summon FLUFFAL OCTOPUS!

'This allows me to Special summon EDGE IMP SABRES from the grave!'

The scissors return, as well as a small octopus

'From the hand, I activate Frightfur Fusion! I fuse together Fluffal Octopus and Edge Imp Sabres'

'FUSION SUMMON! COME FORTH, FRIGHTFUR KRAKEN!'

A kraken with sharp arms and purple head appeared

'I use its effect to destroy Zoroa!'

The Kraken roared, as Zoroa weakened and shattered.

'Now, I attack Endymion!'

The kraken raised its bladed arms, slashing it down on the magician

YUMI: 5700

'And, Kraken's second effect activates, allowing me to attack you once more!

YUMI: 3500

'DRAW!'

'I summon Crowley, the Magistus of Grimoires, and use ZOROA's effect to bring him back!'

'I now activate POT OF AVARICE, shuffling:

- Aiwass

- Crowley

- RIlliona

- Endymion

- And Zoroa into the deck, allowing me to draw 2 cards!

An ugly, purple pot with a chubby face spills four floating cards from its innards, the cards returning to Yumi's deck, as she draws.

'I activate Magistus Theurgy, Equipping Aiwass!'

The azure staff floats around Zoroa.

'Now, Battle phase!'

Sora, halfway up a set of spiral stairs, jump to another building, landing wobbly, grabbing a card as candy dropped from the sky.

'I activate Candy Shower! It changes your Monster into defence!'

Zoroa squats, crossing his hands.

'Dang, I end my turn!'

Sora draws.

'Alright, now! I ACTIVATE KRAKEN'S ABILITY!'

Sora pushes his hand out, as if commanding his Kraken to attack Zoroa.

…

However, silence fills the battlefield instead

…

'W-what?'

Yumi smiles and declares 'Aiwass is a fusion monster! A monster in the spell and trap zone, due to being equipped to Zoroa! ZOROA'S SECOND EFFECT: MY OPPONENT CANNOT ACTIVATE THE EFFECTS OF A MONSTER TYPE IN THE SPELL AND TRAP ZONE!'

Sora looks shocked 'What' Aww man! I end my turn then.'

Yumi draws, pulling her hand all the way to the back, with the card in her hand.

I discard one of my cards from my hand to activate FORBIDDEN DROPLET!'

A goblet floated above the kraken, dropping a drop onto it, like acid.

'WHAT!?'

I can halve the attack of a monster on the field, equal to the number of discarded cards!'

'That means…'

'That Kraken's attack is now 1100!'

'Now, Zoroa! Flaming Magic Ultimatum!'

A burst of blue light appeared from one hand of Zoroa, a burning flame in the other. Combined, they attack the Kraken, destroying it.

SORA:300

With Sora's ability to activate Fusion monsters' effects, Sora loses soon.

'SORA: 0' the computer yelled out, as it continued 'YUMI HITO AND SORA SHUNIN, PLESE RETURN TO YOUR SEATS AND WAIT FOR THE NEXT DUEL TO END BEFORE COMING DOWN.'

…

Sora confronted Yumi in the crowd. 'Thanks for the Duel!' He says, smiling.

Yumi tilts her head towards him, sitting beside him 'Th... Thanks.'

Sora notice her nervousness 'Hey, what's wrong? Still worried about ol' glasses?'

'N-no, I just feel a little… off…'

Sora nodded, in deep thought, before shrugging it off 'Whatever, good luck with her over there!' Sora pints his thumb two rows behind him, to Rinne Minoru.

'Oh, I hope you're ready for me, kid…' She says, smugly smiling as she shuffling her deck in her hands

Yumi continued to watch Mirai's duel, hiding her rage and fear.
