This chapter contains minor light novel spoilers, but nothing related to big plot points, just some background knowledge
Touch Me and Bukubukuchagama were regrouping after splitting up to search the 9th floor
"Ah Chagama, what did you find?"
"Surprisingly, almost nothing. Most of us did a really good job designing this floor, to the point that the only problems I found came from the NPC wanting to work more then they should."
They shared a collective sigh. They both remembered how hard it was to make the maids take any kind of break at all
"I mostly found the same thing, but for some reason Tabula forgot to give Albedo a room. For now she's in a guest room but I've planed for her one room to be made."
"With all the care he put into making her I'm surprised that he forgot something like that. Well at least it's fixed. We're skipping the 8th floor for now so next should be… the 7th…"
They didn't remember much of what Ulbert put on the 7th floor, but if it was anything like the small amounts they did know about then it would take a long time to get the suffering and pain to reasonable levels, if they could at all
"Do… do you think we need to go their now?" Bukubukuchagama hesitantly asked
"Maybe we could skip it for now and talk to Ulbert about to later?"
"Ya let's do that, I'm sure Aura and Mare would love to see us."
And they never went there after that
"Hay Ulbert?" Peroroncino asked when the two finally got a break from mapping and surveying the outside of nazarick
"What's up?"
"I'm been wondering, Momonga's mind got changed a bit from being a an undead. Things like having no sexual interest"
"That's what he said."
"Then why would he be the only one for that to happen to? Have you noticed anything different from being a demon?"
"Just the obvious, more open to violence, acceptance of things that would freak me out before, basically what you would expect."
"No no, I mean like your tastes in girls."
"Of course it's that, as far as I can tell it's the same as before, Albedo, the maids, envy, things like-"
"Wait, envy? Who's that?"
"The evil lord, you've seen her before right?"
"And what do you think of her?"
"She hot."
"…"
"…"
"I'm telling Momonga."
"Wait what, no!"
Peroroncino teleported to the 9th floor just barely fallowed by Ulbert
"Get back here!"
"Never!"
Several maids were cleaning one of the halls on the 9th floor when they heard screaming coming from down the hall
"Intruders?" One of them asked fearfully
"No we would have known if they got this far down." Another said to calm her down "for now we should keep cleaning."
"Wait don't they kind of sound like-"
Suddenly a golden blur zoomed past them as steams of flame shot at him.
Turning the corner and significantly slower came Ulbert
"L-lor-"
Cutting her off was Ulbert yelling at the golden blur
"Get back here, or I'll turn you into KFC deep fried chicken! [following flames]!" A gout of flame came from his hand and began following the golden blur
Answering back was the voice of Peroroncino "run run run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man!"
As the two supreme beings left their field of view they heard some more yelling before to got too quiet for them to hear
"Ah Momonga! You won't believe it, Ulbert-"
"Noooooooooo!"
The maids could only look around at the hall that had been scorched by their masters fight
"I-I think... we should clean this up."
Near the end of the meeting soon after they got to the New World
"I think that's everything for now, do any of you have something to add?" Yamaiko asked
Most of them shock their heads, or the next best thing, except for Momonga
"Their is one thing I want to know. What do you all think of going back home?"
"Are you kidding? I never want to go back to that hell hole ever again." Ulbert replied immediately
"Agreed. Even if I would have to stay locked up in here for the rest of my live then it still be better then the alternative." Peroroncino said
"For once in my life I'm going to agree with my brother." Bukubukuchagama said
"I mean, I would be surrounded my hot chicks will- OW!" Peroroncino stopped a quarter way through his sentence as a slimy tentacle hit him
"I retract my previous statement."
"I've got no family or friends except for you guys, and my original body has a few years at best. I'm staying here." Takemikazuchi said
"I lose nothing by staying and in return gain everything. Do the math." Tabula said
"The only thing I have left is my sister, but we were growing more distant by the day and she'll be fine without me. It's a little selfish, but I'm staying."
All of them turned to Touch Me
They all knew that he had a family and had by far the best life, so what would he do?
"I'm staying." He said simply
Everyone else was surprised, he had a family and was just going to leave them like that?
"It's alright if you don't want to stay." Momonga said "we know you have a wife and ki-"
"DO NOT CALL THAT word MY WIFE!"
Touch me yelled out, standing up so fast that his chair fell over, and slamming down in the table. With his strength and speed that meant that he was a blur to most of the other Supreme Beings, and made a sound so loud half the tomb heard it
From the slits in his helmet a green fluid leaked out
Tears
"As soon as I look away from her, she goes running to my colleague, spinning a sob story about how I abused her. The dipshit believes it and next thing I know I'm in court. Everyone immediately believes everything she says, and I'm almost killed for it. Instead they resolve to ruin my life, take my daughter away, and leave me with almost nothing, because let's not punish the people who have massive amounts of evidence against and instead use our time to blindly listen to someone for no reason! Isn't that an idea?!"
The other Supreme Beings didn't know what to do. Touch Me had gone on some rants when a case was particularly atrocious but it had never been something like this. Some of them tried their best to comfort him, but it did little to help until Ulbert spoke up
"I would like to change my answer. I want to go back."
All of the eyes in the room turned to him
"To kill that bitch."
It seemed that for once in their lives Touch Me and Ulbert actually agreed on something
Slane theocracy - cardinal meeting room
After their routine cleaning and prayer the cardinals began their meeting
"Our first topic is the explosion that occurred in the Tinu Al Rianes."
"Who dared take part in such blasphemy!?" Dominic shouted out
The Tinu Al Rianes is a temple devoted to the water god, that was built by the gods when they decided to earth. Because of this it is considered one of the most sacred places in the theocracy, but one place in-particular, know as the Eye of the Water God, is particularly sacred. This is because it is the location of several high tier divination rituals, and increased the power of any divination magic cast inside of it. Several days ago a large explosion occurred inside of the Eye of the Water god. Luckily most people didn't notice it because of how few are allowed into it
"Calm down, I'm passing out the report now." Raymond said to him
Said report went roughly like this:
It is unknown who or what caused the explosion, but based on its power it was likely a forth tier spell or higher. The explosion heavily damaged the Eye of the Water God, and it is unknown if it is possible to restore its magical abilities. The only person who was caught in the explosion was Thousand Mile Astrologer, who was killed as a result, but her body was found and she was revived. According to her the explosion occurred soon after she cast a spell to view the battle between the Sunlight scripture and the Warrior Captain of the Re-Estize Kingdom. Most of her magic was blocked but she was able to see "a light so bright it must have belonged to a Dominion Authority at least, be swallowed up by darkness before a light for stronger then before emerged."
The cardinals were furious. Not only had one of their most sacred and powerful temples been defiled and they had no idea who had done it
"Dammit!" Dominic shouted out
"Calm down Dominic, we need to think this through." Ginedine said to him
"What do you mean?" Another cardinal asked
"Something about what Thousand Mile Astrologer said seems strange to me. From the sound of it, it seems like the Sunlight scripture was forced to summon a Dominion Authority, but then something killed it, before some kind of higher tier angel was summoned."
"That's ridiculous, Dominion Authority is one of the highest tier of angel, what could be so much stronger then it?"
"The god of light."
That made many of them stop to think, but their was something they had to address if that was true
"He's dead." One said simply
"He's a god. Who's to say what he can do?"
"Then why now? And why would they attack us?"
"It could be that they are displeased with our actions. As for why now, something big could be starting."
"So it's a guess."
"Still he has a point. It's not perfect but their isn't enough evidence to say anything for sure. Right now we should be thinking about who could defeat a Dominion Authority."
"Well theirs the eight greed kings."
"Even more unlikely. If they came back it would be extremely obvious."
"Landfall?"
"Possible but she hasn't been seen in over a hundred years, and has no reason to save Gazef."
"The platinum dragon lord."
"This is too far away from his territory for that to be responsible."
"The catastrophe dragon lord?"
"..."
"I think we're all in agreement at least that what ever caused this, it is most likely dangerous and needs to be identified immediately."
The others at the table could only nod their heads
"Then I saw we send the black scripture with [Downfall of King and Country]."
"That seems extreme with how little information we have."
"Still it's the best option we have."
"Who's in agreement that we should send the black scripture equipped with [Downfall of King and Country]?"
Four people raised their hands
"Who is against it?"
Three raised their hands
"Then it's 4:3 in favor."
"If that's what we're doing should we allow Thousand Mile Astrologer to go with them? Her life force has been drained from being revived, but she is the divination specialist."
"No, she would be more of a hindrance if they got into a battle like that."
"All in favor of deploying Thousand Mile Astrologer?"
Two hands raised
"All against?"
Four hands raised
"Then she shall stay here to recover."
I always found it weird that Momonga/Ainz attached a [Widened Explosion] to his anti-srying barrier but then it was never talked about again
