Chp. 4: Betrayal and False Confrontation
Cy's House
A few hours after the attacks, Jacket was walking all the way back to Cy's house from the city to the neighborhood. Eventually, he ends up making it to Cy's home.
"What gives? Why the hell would he leave me behind? And to die?" Jacket wondered.
He walked up to the front pouch and in front of the front door.
"If this is his idea of a joke, I am not laughing," he said in frustration.
Before he was about to knock on the door, heard the sounds of laughter behind the door. Curious as to what was going on, Jacket placed his ear against the door to listen in.
"Hopefully those crackers or those robot tin can things with them took care of him," one voice said.
"I still can't believe they came out of literal nowhere," a second voice said.
Jacket quickly recognized the first voice to be Cy and the second to be Bonnie.
"With Jacket out of the way, the position of being a leader of a gang that the boss was originally going to give to Jacket will now go to me. I ain't gonna be no motherfucking sidekick," Cy said.
"Tell me about it. I've put up with Jacket's dick for a while now. But he doesn't know how to satisfy me like other men do. Especially when you're involved. Nobody can fuck my ass better then you can," Bonnie said.
"Well now I'm thinking about that ass of yours, and as an expert ass-ologist, it's in need of a serious fucking," Cy said.
"You read my mind like always," Bonnie said.
Jacket breathed heavily in fury upon listening to Cy and Bonnie's conversation. Unable to contain his anger any longer, Jacket took out his shotgun and shot the door handle off, then kicked the door open, much to the surprise of Bonnie and Cy.
"I can't believe this! I can't fucking believe this, man!" Jacket screamed. "Why would you two do this to me?! And after all that I've done for you both?!"
"You're dick was just not big enough for me," Bonnie answered.
"It's just business. It is what it is," Cy responded.
"You son of a bitch!" Jacket angrily exclaimed.
Just before he could fire, he looked up and saw two guys with their guns stepping into the living room. Jacket jumps out the door, while knocking over a lamp table with a set of car keys set on top just as the two men open fire. Jacket quickly grabs the keys, gets up, and sprints to the car. He circles around the car to the driver's side and ducks down to avoid the two men shooting at him. He opens the door and steps inside, then starts the car. Jacket sets the car to drive and slams on the gas, speeding away. Cy and Bonnie stepped out onto the porch and watched as Jacket drove away.
"What do we do now?" Bonnie asked.
"I'll tell the boss he's gone rogue and tried to kill us. Then we'll send our boys out to kill him," Cy answered.
John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County
Meanwhile at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Jesse was sitting in the waiting room. A doctor walks up to Jesse as he stands up from his seat.
"How is she, Doc?" Jesse asked.
"Well, she's lucky to be alive. If the car that ran her over drove any faster, and if it wasn't the edge of the car and not the center, she would have been dead. However she's currently in a coma and cannot be visited at this time," the doctor answered.
"Damn," Jesse muttered. "Do her parents know about this?"
"They've already been contacted and are on their way right now," the doctor answered.
"Thanks, Doc," Jesse said.
He turned around and walked out the door and left the building.
Later out in the streets, Jesse was walking down the sidewalk, unable to get his mind off of Teresa getting hospitalized.
"I'm sorry, Teresa. If I had just pushed you out of the way instead of saving myself, you wouldn't be in this mess," he thought.
Jesse had then thought back to the car that ran Teresa over. Anger began to fill his mind as he clenched his fist. Another thought came to his mind.
"No. It's your fault. It's your fault Teresa got hurt. It's your fault she nearly died. When I find you, I'm gonna kill you. I swear to God I will," he thought.
Jesse continued to walk down the sidewalk for a while until something caught his attention. He saw the exact same car that ran over Teresa driving up to a gas station and parked in front of the shop. Jesse grows infuriated upon seeing the car. and sped walked over to it. Jacket steps out of the car with an exhausted and betrayed look on his face.
"I need a drink," he said.
"Hey jackass!" Jesse shouted at Jacket.
Jacket turned around to face Jesse.
"What the hell do you want?" he asked.
Jesse hurled a punch to Jacket's face, staggering him.
"You think this is funny? You think it's fucking funny after what you did?!" Jesse asked as he hurled another punch to Jacket's face.
"What the fuck are you even talking about?" Jacket asked.
As Jesse throws another punch, Jacket catches Jesse's wrist mid-swing and then punches Jesse in the stomach, then followed with a punch to the face, knocking Jesse to the ground.
"I'll ask again. What the fuck are you talking about?" Jacket asked.
Jesse angrily gets up and rushes at Jacket with a yell. He tackled him to the ground and the two began to wrestle each other. As Jesse and Jacket were wrestling on the ground a police cruiser drove up and parked up close to them. Two police officers quickly stepped out of their car and quickly approached Jacket and Jesse. The two officers grabbed on to the two boys and pulled them apart.
"Now what the heck is going on here?" the officer holding on to Jesse asked.
"I don't know! This fucker just straight up attack me!" Jacket answered.
"You nearly killed my friend by running her over!" Jesse angrily retorted.
"I did no such thing!" Jacket yelled back as he struggled to break free from the officer's grip.
"We're gonna have to take them both in until we can figure this out," the officer holding on to Jacket said.
"Good idea. We already have enough problems with all the worldwide terrorist attacks today," the other officer said.
Jacket and Jesse struggled even more upon hearing that they were being arrested. The two police officers then pulled the two boys towards the police cruiser.
