Chapter 11
Idunn stared at Tannan, many thoughts going through her mind.
"What was our nexus event?" she asked through grit teeth. "Loki and I?"
Tannan panicked and pulled his gadget out of his pocket, searching frantically for information.
"It doesn't say. They don't say," Tannan mumbled.
"I want to talk to someone who knows something," she slammed her fist on the table and Tannan jolted, dropping his gadget. He fumbled for it but she grabbed it before he could.
When it came in close contact with her TVA bracelet, it clicked itself loose from her wrist and fell to the ground. She cocked an eyebrow and moved away from the table. Tannan stood from his chair, unsure what to do. While Idunn pushed several buttons and toyed with the device, he turned and ran out the door. She didn't even care. She opened a portal and stared at the gadget screen, pushing a few more buttons and the portal opened and closed several times, changing color at times too.
The door swung open and several agents stormed in with their eccentric stick weapons.
"No," Idunn growled and open a new portal, jumping through it and closing before they could reach her.
Idunn ended up in a similar room, except this one was empty. She pushed a button and walked through another portal, right into the room where Loki and Mobius were talking. The two men looked up at her shocked, Loki jumped up and Idunn snatched the device that lay plainly on the table.
"Woah," Mobius held up his hands, "Woah. Think about this."
"Think about what?" Idunn tested as she gestured for Loki to join her.
"You don't want to do this, Loki," Mobius tried.
"I think we do," Loki stated as he reached her. She held Mobius's gadget up to Loki's arm and his braceless clicked off. Loki grinned and took her hand in his.
"Wait," Mobius called as they ran through a new portal. "Oh man," he moaned as he stared at the open portal and sighed, looking everywhere, and then ran through the portal before it closed.
On the other end of the portal, Idunn and Loki ran into a wintery woodland. They both instantly felt restored once they were out of the TVA.
"What's your plan now?" Mobius called and they both jumped, realizing he had followed them. Loki waved his hand and both his and Idunn's jumpsuits changed into Asgardian armor.
"That's impressive, I'll give you that," Mobius strolled closer, "I can't do anything to you though. I don't have a weapon."
"You shouldn't have come here," Idunn warned.
"I know, I know." Mobius nodded, not sure what his plan had been. "But neither should you. They will find you two again. What, what's your plan here?"
"I didn't have a plan," Idunn admitted, "Just to get away."
"Great, that's great," Mobius mumbled with his hands on his hips.
Loki took Idunn's face in his hands and smiled at her, "It's brilliant!" he exclaimed and kissed her.
"Hey no, none of that. That's how they found you in the first place," Mobius scolded them.
They turned to face him, wanting more information.
"You know what our nexus event was?" Idunn asked.
"Yeah, no, Uhm, yes," He sighed. Mobius gestured between them and all around, but couldn't get any words out.
"What?" Loki questioned as he admired Idunn in his armor colors for a moment.
"So, yeah," Mobius tried again, "I'm a huge fan of your work," he pointed at Loki, "and you, I've read about, and just wow." Mobius gestured to Idunn.
"To be honest," Mobius continued, "I know everything about you. Well, not everything, there are times when you just disappeared. Both of you actually. You tend to carry the same kind of cosmic energy with you but are total opposites. You Loki, are usually surrounded by chaos, and you, Yelena are usually so reserved."
"Yelena?" Idunn frowned.
"Yeah, right, you don't know, that's your real name. Yelena Rodgers. You're the daughter of…" Mobius was cut off by a wave of energy surging through the woods, pushing the trees down like dominoes and blowing them to the ground with them, a cloud of snow flurrying around them.
They all jumped up and turned towards the source of the blow, fully alert.
"Where did you bring us?" Mobius asked.
"I brought us back to Utopia, you just followed," Idunn stated.
"That's clever, the TVA won't look for you here first," Mobius sounded impressed but Loki couldn't decide whether Mobius had been sarcastic or not.
"It seems they did," Loki indicated as he lurked around the fallen trees toward their unseen enemy.
"It's not them," Idunn sighed. "It's just Adam."
