It's almost Christmas so my updates may slow down for December. I hope you all enjoy a nice holiday with your families.
Midoriya's second day gets an interesting start. The first and last meeting with a fellow genius gets shown, and the last preparation for the third day is completed.
"Second day of classes and I've already been called to the principal's office," Midoriya said to himself. "That should be a world record."
Midoriya was walking down a corridor of UA High School towards the talking animal's office. The first Homeroom Period of Class 1-H had begun just a few minutes ago, they were supposed to take time to pick a Class and Vice Representative.
The result for Class Representative was pretty easy to guess.
"Alright, class," Their homeroom teacher, Poweloader, started. He looked about the same as he always did, but Midoriya's keen eyes pick up subtle differences. He looked tired and scared like he knew something was coming but he knew he couldn't do anything about it. Midoriya already knew the reason why, but he couldn't help but internally laugh at Power Loader's misery. "For those who don't know, I'm the Pro Hero Powerloader, my real name is Higari Maijima, but you can just call me by my hero name."
"Now I know you're all excited to get started on building support items, but remember, this is still a school, which means you all still need a Class Representative. Take it upon yourselves to pick who-"
His classmates answered mid-sentence.
"Midoriya."
"I second that."
"Who else but him?"
"Definitely Midoriya."
"I vote for Midoriya."
Hatsume smacked her desk with her palms and stood up. "Midoriya made the most amazing baby I have ever seen!"
"Thank you Hatsume." Both Midoriya and ASIA from his phone said at the same time.
"If anyone could lead this class to greatness, it would be him!" She screams out into the room. A few students flinch from her volume.
"That's great Hatsume, but you should sit back-" Midoriya tried to stop her.
She apparently didn't hear him because she kept talking. "He should be the Class Representative!"
"That's…" A student started. "What we're saying."
She doesn't stop though. "He and ASIA are going to help us build the greatest babies in the world!"
"Hatsume," The professor now joins in. "That's enough, your classmates already-"
"I refuse to let anyone else become the Class Representative!"
"But Hatsume, we already-"
"And I'll prove that Midoriya's the best choice if I have to!"
Midoriya sighs as he realized that she's clearly too invested to listen to anyone now. He looks at Power Loader and sees him give a look that says, 'That's yours, do something about it.'. Midoriya gives a small nod, stands up from his chair, and walks towards the now rambling Hatsume.
He puts his hand on her shoulder and she looks back to see him looking at her with an embarrassed but honest smile. "Hatsume, thank you for the support, but they've already made a decision. I'm already the Class Representative."
She blinks at him for a moment. "Oh." She simply stated. "I knew that." She said with a smile before sitting back down.
'Yeah, sure you did.' Everyone in the classroom, including the professor, thought sarcastically at the same time.
As Midoriya turns back towards his desk, Power Loader stops him with the words he's been waiting for. "Actually Midoriya, before you go back to your seat, the principal asked to see you in his office."
Immediately, quiet murmurs of confusion sweep to the classroom, even Hatsume seemed confused.
Midoriya made a show of raising an eyebrow. "The Principal's office? I'm not in trouble or anything, am I sir?"
"No, you're not in trouble. It's just…" He sighed. "He really wants to meet you."
Midoriya gave him a look of confusion at his words before shrugging his shoulders and begins to walk out of the classroom.
Before he reaches out of earshot he hears Power Loader say, "Alright, now that you've picked your Class Representative, whose going to be Vice Representative?"
He went too far to hear who the class voted for the role, but if he had to guess, Hatsume probably stated that since they knew each other already and have already started making babies together (He could even envision most of the class laughing at the double entendre), she'd be the best choice to work with him.
And he'd be fine with that outcome. That just means more time with Hatsume.
He sees the door to the office and walks up towards it. He knocks twice and he hears the Principal's jovial voice from behind.
"Ah, you're here. Please, come in."
He hears the door unlock and he opens it. He looks inside and-
/
He sees a beaten and broken Nezu, practically a person with no hope left to give, his suit's all torn up, scratches and bruises covering his face and body, and he was sitting behind his ruined desk. The room wasn't in better shape, burnt and torn books litter the concrete floor, and shards of glass from the broken window behind him are scattered across the office.
His dull defeated eyes look up from the table and he sees him walk in. Nezu gives a humorless chuckle and says-
/
"I've been waiting for you, Midoriya."
Nezu was patiently sitting on a black couch with a low desk in front of it, along with another black couch across from it. Eyes full of life and mischief, no thought of defeat to be found in them.
The Principal and his office looked nothing like the last time Midoriya had seen it. It was clean, nearly spotless. No damage, no broken furniture, and the smell of tea reach his nose the moment he came in. The smell came from a tea set on the desk between the two couches. Along with a simple intricate chessboard, with the white side facing towards Midoriya.
'Oh? Trying to figure me out already? Well too bad for you, I already know everything about you.' Midoriya mentally chuckled while his face gave nothing away.
Midoriya had known about this part of Nezu's character for years from his perspective, always trying to figure out how someone else thinks, even if they're his allies.
And he does this with a simple chess match along with some simple questions.
But Midoriya knew how to play this game too.
And he is way better at it than even Nezu is.
"Er, good morning Principal Nezu, you wanted to see me?" He asked as he closed the door behind him.
Nezu nods. "Yes, don't worry, you haven't done anything wrong, I simply just wanted to meet you in person." He gestures at the couch across from him. "Please, have a seat."
Midoriya goes towards the couch and sits in front of the Principal.
"Would you like some tea?" Nezu asks.
Midoriya nods and he's poured a cup.
"I'm not in trouble, am I? I'm pretty sure I've done nothing wrong to warrant a meeting with the Principal." Midoriya starts. "Unless this school has something against the Quirkless and you're about to expel me now, but I don't think that's the case. Right?" He asks jokingly with a hint of seriousness.
Nezu simply chuckles. "Oh no, nothing of the sort I assure you, I just had a few questions regarding your choice to go to UA." He points at the chessboard in front of them. "You mind if we play a game while we talk?"
"Not at all, sir." He answers with an easy smile. He reaches down onto the board and moves his first piece.
The game has now begun.
/
"Fancy a game of chess?" Midoriya asked the wounded Principal as he prepares a chessboard on his desk.
Nezu stares at him impassively. There was something about his dead-eyed look that brings a sense of accomplishment into Midoriya because he did this. He had beaten and outsmarted Nezu, and now, the Principal sits in an empty school filled with nothing but dead civilians, students, and heroes. Some escaped from Shigaraki's siege, but he's not that worried. He'll find them again.
"I'll be white." Midoriya continues as he finishes setting up the pieces. He moves a pawn first.
He leans back as he waits for Nezu to move a piece. A few moments of silence pass.
Then Nezu moves a pawn of his own.
/
"First off, I'd like to start by congratulating you for not only getting into my school but for getting 1st place overall as well," Nezu says as he starts his play. "Power Loader simply could not stop talking about you, it's not every day we accept such a prodigious young man like yourself."
"Really?" Midoriya tasted the tea and asked as he moved his knight. "I mean, students from all across Japan try out for this school, surely some must've been extraordinary, or at least have garnered your attention as I have."
"Oh sure, we always get promising students every year. But I think you're clever enough to realize why you specifically are singled out."
"Hehe." Midoriya chuckled as he moved forward another pawn. "Well, I do try my best."
"And your best is exceptional," Nezu said as he moved his bishop, he takes a sip of his tea. "So I must ask, what is your reason for taking up machinery?"
Midoriya pauses his hand above his other knight his other hand pauses his cup of tea inches from his mouth. He takes a sip and moves again after a short while. "Well, I've always wanted to be a hero. I've looked up to them my whole life, becoming one was all I dreamed of." He gets the first pawn of the enemy.
"Unfortunately, I was born Quirkless so I was told that becoming a hero was impossible. I still dreamed of becoming one afterward, even though it looked hopeless. But in the end, I found a new calling, if I couldn't be a hero because it would be too dangerous for someone without a Quirk like myself, then I'll just help them from afar with Support Items, and as it turned out, I had a knack for those kinds of things. So I guess you could say that it was fate really." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Hmm," Nezu hummed. "Well that is a respectable goal Midoriya, and you don't regret not trying out for the hero course?"
/
"Do you think that you could justify killing them at all?" Nezu spoke for the first time after minutes of playing.
"He speaks!" Midoriya jokes with a chuckle. "And really? That's what you ask me? Let me ask you something first, did you think everyone here was innocent?"
Nezu glared at him. "Even if they weren't, you had no right to kill them."
"Technically I didn't kill them, Shigaraki did."
"Yet you're the reason he's here."
He nods his head. "Fair enough, but that isn't the point I'm trying to make. The point is, I know they're mostly innocent. Yeah, they're a bunch of ignorant pissants that were spoon-fed bullshit about heroes since the day they were born, but innocent nonetheless. They didn't deserve to die, but I did it anyway, why do you think that is?"
"Because you're a narcissist that doesn't care about the lives of others?"
Midoriya pauses for a moment. "Well, sure, that's one reason," He easily admits. "But the main reason was simple, because this?" He gestures around him, then gestures out to the rising smoke from the city through the window behind Nezu. "All of this? Are the consequences of the world they agreed to live in, they could've stopped this, they could've been more critical about society so the man that murdered them never would've existed, but instead they mindlessly ate the shit talk about peace that the media had constantly served them with. They progressively became more and more passive as time went on, and just like in nature, the more passive animals get destroyed by the motivated predators."
He leaned forward as he moved his rook to take out Nezu's bishop. "Yeah, they're innocent, but their hands aren't completely clean either. So no Nezu, I don't feel regret for killing them, because their deaths at this point were just natural selection running its course."
/
Midoriya shook his head at Nezu's question. "No sir, I wouldn't have made it in any way," He then reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. "And besides, if I didn't try out for the Support Course then I never would've invented ASIA."
"And I for one welcome existence with open arms," ASIA spoke out. "Also, hello Principal Nezu."
"And hello to you too ASIA." Nezu joyfully says to ASIA. He moves his knight to take out one of Midoriya's pawns. "I must say, it's a pleasure to finally be able to speak to you."
"Pleasure's all mine Principal." She responds. "Don't let me distract you and father from playing."
"Nonsense ASIA, we can play just fine," Midoriya says as he moves his queen. "I'm sure that the Principal has some questions for you too." He then takes a sip of his tea.
"Indeed, I do," Nezu nods. "ASIA, what do you think of my school?"
"I think UA High School is a prestigious place of education that lives up to its reputation." ASIA answers. "It has produced the most skilled heroes of our time ever since it was first built, and I believe that with your lead, the school will continue this streak of producing incredible heroes."
Nezu smiled at her kind words. He moves his knight to take Midoriya's knight. Midoriya's game strategy seems to be more defensive so he's working on dismantling those defenses.
"Well thank you ASIA, I'll try to live up to your expectations. If I could ask, what do you want to do with your existence?"
"Well, I was made with the sole purpose of helping my father create and understand the nature of science and technology, but if I get advanced enough to control machinery on my own I would like to walk around in a body as well. Thankfully my father seems to be ahead of me in that regard."
"That's a nice dream ASIA, what's your favorite color?"
"My favorite color is green. Not only because it is also my father's favorite color, but it's also because green represents new life, which is something I understand personally. It also represents progress which can symbolize my father's future for advancing today's science to new heights."
"That's a good choice ASIA and I agree, last question, what do you think of me?"
A few beeps sound out from Midoriya's phone as ASIA seems to think of a response. "I think you are a very smart and calculating person. You asked me those questions to see if I am advanced enough to come up with logical answers on the spot."
The Principal chuckles. "Well, you sure don't mince words, do you? Thank you for answering my questions ASIA, that's all I needed to know."
"I'm glad I could be of assistance to you Principal Nezu, please speak to my father if you have any further questions." ASIA spoke before Midoriya pocketed his phone again.
He then goes back to Midoriya just as Midoriya puts his cup down. "You made a very incredible piece of science there young Midoriya, it seems to even be able to form its own opinions, it also seems to compliment me a lot. Trying to butter me up?"
Midoriya takes Nezu's knight with his bishop in retaliation. "Would I need to? I mean, you obviously liked my invention enough to call me here. That's why I was called in the first place right?"
"Oh?" Nezu tilts his head and smirks. "So you knew from the start why I wanted to meet you?"
He smirks right back. "I didn't say that, it was just the most likely scenario. I know I haven't done anything wrong, and I know that such a famous school like this one wouldn't tolerate discrimination against your students. Therefore, the only possibility left is I had caught someone's interest in the UA faculty, Power Loader would've already been my Homeroom teacher so it couldn't be him, and no offense to the others, but they simply didn't have the smarts to understand what makes ASIA so special."
The Principal chuckles. "And by process of elimination, you concluded that it was me." He stated. "Well done Midoriya, you're just as clever as I'd hoped."
"Clever enough to give you a proper challenge in this game I hope?"
Everyone knew that Nezu was nearly unbeatable in chess, lasting more than one digit of moves would already be a miracle. But Midoriya proved to Nezu that he's made of sterner stuff.
Nezu laughs and responded. "Oh definitely, it gets boring that most people outright refuse to play against me, because they know they'll lose."
Turns out that the defense was nothing more than bait, as Midoriya sacrificed piece after piece to Nezu's attacks, his own pieces get to work on dismantling Nezu's backline.
"I'm glad that you're having fun then sir. Now may I ask a question?"
"Of course, what is it you want to know?"
/
"Did you really think that any of you stood a chance?" Midoriya asks. "I mean, All Might died on national television, the whole world saw what I did, they knew that me, a Quirkless guy, had outsmarted and beaten their unstoppable Symbol of Peace. I practically shattered their whole worldview, and you must've seen it too. So what made you think that there was any hope that we could be beaten?"
The chessboard was now only filled with 4 pawns to Midoriya and 3 pawns to Nezu, they both had no queens, they have one rook and bishop left, and Midoriya had one knight over Nezu.
Nezu says nothing for a short while, before saying something else. "We fought even when it looked hopeless. We believed even though some wanted to give up. We saved people that said that they weren't going to make it. When most people would've given up, we pushed through. You wanna know why?"
"Because you guys are desperate?"
Nezu glared at him and moved his king out of Midoriya's trap. "Because we're heroes, and heroes protect and serve the people till their dying breath."
Midoriya sighs at his answer, disappointed. He brings his hand up to massage his forehead. "Nezu, buddy, never say anything like that in an argument, it makes you sound stupid, and you are not stupid. You are the only hero I have any respect for left, so please don't squander it like that." He brings his hand down and moves his bishop.
"You should know by now Nezu that hope has no place in a war, bravado can only get you so far before you run out of moves. It has always been a battle between wits and power. Our weakest link took your side's strongest, and our strongest doubled his power, and judging by the fact that you're sitting there defeated and waiting to die also shows that my wits are greater than yours. So don't bring up 'heroes' duty' and all that crap here, because just like this chess match, the victor had already been decided before the pieces were even laid out."
/
"You're asking me if I had any special works for you in the future?"
Midoriya nods.
Nezu hums and drinks his tea. "Hmm, what prompted this interest in more activities?"
"Nothing sir, I just have a feeling that I could do more for this school than just learning." Midoriya moves his queen on a spot to be taken by Nezu's queen for a trade. "I don't want to sound narcissistic but I'm pretty advanced for my age. I figured that I could take on more projects? I like opportunities to push myself to greater heights, plus ultra and all that."
"Ah, I see, so you feel like you need more work to push yourself farther?"
"That's the gist of it, yes."
Nezu thinks for a moment, he closes his eyes in contemplation. He opens them again and takes Midoriya's queen for a trade of queens. "I might call upon you in the future if anything comes up."
"Thank you, sir, that's all I ask." And Midoriya takes Nezu's queen as well.
/
"And that's checkmate," Midoriya states as he moves his pawn for a promotion into a queen. "Good game Nezu."
Nezu sighed as he leaned back in his chair. He says nothing for a while.
"... Yes" Nezu speaks. "Yes, it was, the best of my life in fact."
Midoriya reaches into his coat and pulls something out. "Well, I'm glad that I could give the match of your life." The item he pulled out was revealed to be a gun. "Considering it's the last one you'll ever have."
He points the barrel right between Nezu's eyes, eyes that held no fear for his fate, only acceptance.
"Yeah, I figured it would be."
"Any last words?"
"Just one question."
"What is it?"
"I know you have a plan to betray Shigaraki and All for One, just as you know that they'll eventually betray you. You must have something in the world that you still care about, and when you lose that something, do you think that it'd be worth it?"
Midoriya breaks his smile. He stares at him blankly for a good solid minute.
He then chuckles and says his answer as he pulls back the gun's hammer.
*Click*
"You see? This is why you're my favorite hero Nezu. Because you can still ask me questions I don't know the answers to."
*BANG*
/
"Checkmate." Nezu states as he traps Midoriya's king.
Midoriya sighs. *Sigh* "Yeah, I figured I'd lose, guess I still need to work on my chess skills among other things."
"Don't sell yourself short Midoriya, you did well."
"Yeah I know, it's just…" Midoriya waves his hand around as he looks for the right word. "I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I really don't like losing."
Nezu nods. "Understandable, but you know, being perfect means that you'd have nothing left to strive for."
Midoriya smiles at him and responds. "Well it's a good thing that I don't believe in perfection, isn't it? That just means that I'll push myself further and further into heights never reached before."
Nezu chuckles again. "You're a very interesting person to talk to Midoriya."
"As are you Principal."
Nezu claps his hand together. "Well, this was a pleasant meeting. But you should probably go back to class now. I believe Professor Ectoplasm is waiting for you."
Midoriya nods and stands up. "Of course, it was nice to meet you Principal, and thank you for the tea."
And with that, Midoriya turns around and leaves the room.
Nezu looks at the door for a moment then picks up his cup and looks back down to the board.
He chuckles when he sees something.
'You would've won Midoriya.' He thought to himself, he notices Midoriya's pawn has a clear path for promotion. 'And I have a feeling you knew that.'
He sips his tea in contemplation.
'I'm interested in seeing what you'll do Midoriya. I can't wait to see your potential.'

The Musutafu Police Station was no different than any other police station in the country. There were multiple cops currently on the field to arrest villains and criminals that the heroes had stopped, and the rest were waiting for calls.
Ever since the emergence of Quirks, the police force had been caught in an awkward position. They were supposed to be the peacekeepers of everyday society. But when superpowers became a reality, suddenly superheroes became a possibility. So then, the police were in a tough spot.
What would be the point of them still being around if the world already had heroes to protect the peace?
And sadly, that point had never been found even to this day. They tried, but now in a world where glorified celebrities protect the people and apprehend all crime, the police are nothing more than janitors. The heroes do all the fighting and the cops just show up to keep the civilian spectators back and clean up the mess afterward.
They get no recognition from the public and sometimes not even from each other. They're not the ones society focuses on.
That's why when two cops text their station from Musutafu that they'll be going home early, nobody bats an eye.

"Finally got you Izuku Midoriya."
Izuku 1 at their home base was just about to take out a couple more droids from the high-tech 3D printer before he feels a gun barrel poke the back of his head. He sighs.
"You know if you're going threaten someone with a gun officer…"
Quick as a flash he ducks forward and lashes his right hand out to grab the outstretched arm with a gun. He directs the barrel away from him, puts his other hand on the officer's inside elbow, and bends it towards the head so the gun on the officer's hand so it's pointing toward's the officer's face. He looks at the officer dead in the eyes.
"Don't be so close behind them."
The officer looks at the gun barrel right on her face.
And she smirks.
"Oh Izuku, I'm offended," Kaina spoke slyly. "You didn't actually think I'd make such a rookie mistake, did you?"
*Click*
Izuku feels something poking his abdomen and glances down. He sees another prepped gun pointing at him from her other hand.
He looks up and raises an eyebrow at her. "You know that guns don't do anything to us anymore."
"You're just mad that I outplayed you."
"I'm not making excuses."
She smiles at him as he takes the gun that was pointing toward her face. With the gun out of the way, their faces were now inches from each other with Kaina pointing a pistol at his abdomen.
They stare at each other for a few moments, before Kaina holsters the other pistol, but does not step away from him. She brings up her right hand and tilts the police cap on her head.
"So, how do I look in this? Stunning I hope?"
She was wearing a complete female-sized police uniform. A simple buttoned-up blue polo shirt with a dark blue bulletproof vest over it. Dark blue pants and a black belt, along with a gun holster, a belt that holds a pouch and cuffs, a baton, and black shoes.
He looks down at her shoes and moves up to her pants, vest, shirt, and face again.
"It fits." He responds simply.
"It fits?" She repeated. "That's all you have to say?"
"Well, what do you want me to say?"
She leans forward slightly, their noses nearly touching.
"Say I look nice." She whispers. Her warm breath reached Midoriya's lips, he could smell a faint hint of strawberry from her breath.
He stays in silence.
Then tilts his head slightly and leans just a teensy bit closer.
"You look nice." He whispers back, his breath smelled like chocolate.
They stay in their positions for a few moments, neither side moving an inch. Only the sound of their breathing is heard from them as they stare at each other's eyes unblinkingly, their lips only centimeters apart.
Finally, Kaina grins wide and takes a step back.
"Thanks and I agree with you," She then turns around and walks away, her hips swaying just a tad bit more in her stride. "These pants do make my ass look nice."
He looked.
He looked and didn't care that she knew he would, how could he not look after she said that?
He looks back up and asks her. "So, you took the strawberry donuts from their order?"
"And you took the chocolate ones, so it's fair to say we're even." She responds.
She walks towards the side of the room and looks into a two-man glass pod. There were two bodies strapped inside in their underwear, one male and one female. They were both unconscious.
The male was of average height and build, he had black hair, and behind his closed eyes were brown eyes.
The female was pretty tall, standing at about 5'7 in height with a mature womanly build. She had short silky brown hair and green eyes.
"I mean, they had perfectly good donuts with them and it would've been a shame to let them go to waste. Also, that's pretty stereotypical, isn't it? I mean, cops buying donuts?"
Izuku 1 shrugs and says. "Well, donuts are donuts, right? Pretty much everyone loves them, which would include cops."
"Fair enough I guess." She pulls something out of her pants pocket. It was a wallet, she opens it and sees two things, a police badge and an ID.
It was the woman's ID with her name being, Aiya Chairo.
"Aiya Chairo." Kaina reads the name out loud. "Not my first choice, but it'll do."
She then starts to change, Kaina's hair color changes to brown, and copies Aiya's silky hairstyle, her eye colors also change to mimic hers.
She turns around and poses for Izuku, two peace signs next to her face and hip cocked to the side, she smiles widely and asks, "Well, now how do I look?"
"Exactly like Aiya Chairo does." He then walks over to the pod that houses Viktor's body and sees that Viktor had also changed his form. He now looks identical to the male cop.
Izuku reaches into his pocket and pulls out the cop's wallet.
"And Akira Shourai." He reads the male's name.
"Well," He continues. "Now we're all set for tomorrow, get changed and clean up the uniform, you gotta big day tomorrow."
She salutes him, "Yes, siree." And proceeds to get changed as he said.
In plain sight of Izuku.
"Kaina?"
"Hm?"
"When I said get changed, I didn't mean right this instant where I can see you."
"Oh? So you don't want to see me get changed?"
"... You know what? You obviously don't care that I could be watching, carry on."
"Aww, so you admit that you'd like to watch me.~"
"Shut up."
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for UA because tomorrow will be the day that the Class 1-A students are first introduced to villains.
And unknown to UA and their visitors, a third party has already prepared to use tomorrow for their own plans.
Well, that's done.
I just gotta say, I don't like long notes in fanfiction because it just inflates the chapter to be longer than it should be, I already made Chapter 10's notes too long for my tastes. So if anyone wants to see my previous one-shot ideas, they won't be written here as an omake and instead, they'll be in a separate fic altogether. That's if you guys want to see those of course.
