Now on with the show!
~~Eight Months Later – Fairy Tail Guildhall~~
It was a quiet day.
Well, every day was now a quiet day. The guild was in search of their favorite Celestial Mage but to no avail.
Even Laxus was searching.
Something was pulling him, telling him something was wrong.
One day everyone was moping around.
The search groups had just returned with no news at all.
It was late in the afternoon when Laxus felt uneasy to the point where he grabbed his head and let out a roar as he fell to his knees in the middle of the guild.
"Laxus!?" Freed exclaimed.
"What's wrong?!" Mira asked as she and Makarov ran to his side.
They had to be careful not to get too close since lightning was arching and sparking off his body.
"Something's wrong..." Laxus managed to ground out through grit teeth.
"What is it?" Makarov asked fear written all over his face.
"I don't know... But... FUCK!" Laxus ended up shouting as a wave of pain racked through his body.
At the same time, the guild Lacrima started going off.
"Now what?" Makarov grumbled. "Someone answer the damn thing..." Makarov ordered.
"Master... We need to get him out of here before he destroys the guildhall!" Jet yelled.
"Master! It was the Mayor of Clover Town... There's a cloudless lightning storm that's rolling through and they thought it was Laxus but I said that he was here so there was no way it was him... They're going to contact Sting and ask about Orge..." Bickslow said crossing his arms.
"A Lightning storm?" Makarov asked.
"A Cloudless lightning storm... He said it feels and looks more magical than natural..." Bickslow explained.
Laxus was breathing heavily on his hands and knees trying to rein in control. Something was telling him he needed to go check out that lightning storm in Clover Town but he felt like he was crippled and couldn't move.
"Send Natsu..." Laxus growled.
"What?!" Makarov yelled in shock.
"He can eat lightning... He's the next... Fuck! Next best choice..." Laxus growled as he fell onto his elbows.
"Should we even worry about that right now?!" Cana snapped.
"Yes..." Laxus hissed through the pain. "Something's telling me to go there... But... But I can barely move... Natsu is the best choice..." Laxus said as the pain started to ease some.
"What do you mean something's telling you to go there?" Makarov asked.
"I can't explain it... I wouldn't call it a voice but... More like a magnetic pull..." Laxus explained with a growl.
"We should get Porlyusica here..." Makarov said with a sigh. "Jet..." Makarov ordered.
"Right..." Jet said before he sped off towards the East forest.
In the forest near Clover Town stood a small cabin where you could hear screaming coming from inside.
"Hold on, Princess..." Loke soothed.
"It hurts Loke..." Lucy said with tears in her eyes.
"I know Princess... There are only two people that could help during this time... And both belong with Fairy Tail..." Loke tried to calm her.
"They can't know..." Lucy ground out as another contraction wracked through her body.
"Virgo and I don't know what we're doing... Only they would know..." Loke tried to urge her to listen to reason.
"Send Gemini to copy one of them... They'll retain the knowledge needed for this..." Lucy managed to get out in between contractions.
"Gemini will drain your magic... We can't afford to let that happen..." Loke said.
"Do You Have Any Better Ideas!?" Lucy growled out.
"No..." Loke said in a defeated tone as he went to dab her forehead with a cold rag. Loke pulled his hand back with a hiss. "What the hell?! It's like you're surrounded by a force field made of lightning... That fucking hurt..." Loke said rubbing his hand.
"Yeah..." Lucy chuckled dryly. "Found out that if the baby senses that I'm in danger it will form a force field of Lightning around me... Came in handy four months ago when He attacked..." Lucy growled out through another contraction.
"That must be nice..." Loke muttered under his breath. "Which would you prefer Gemini to copy?" Loke asked giving in.
"Miss. Porlyusica... Just don't let her see you... I don't want her to tell the guild..." Lucy panted out.
Loke nodded before he disappeared.
In the East forest, Porlyusica just got off from a lacrima call with Makarov informing her that Jet was coming to get her. Of course, Porlyusica being Porlyusica was cursing the old fool.
A few minutes had gone by when she turned with her broom to hit an intruder when she saw a familiar ginger-haired spirit and two small floating blue creatures.
"What the hell?!" Porlyusica practically yelled jumping back and staring wide-eyed at them.
"Sorry for the intrusion... We were hoping you wouldn't have noticed us..." Loke said scratching the back of his head nervously.
"What are you doing here?" Porlyusica asked looking between the two spirits.
"Our Princess is in need of medical assistance... Piri Piri..." Gemi said.
"We came to copy you... Normally we wouldn't without your permission but our Princess needs us quickly... Piri Piri..." Mini said.
"Where is she? And what's wrong with her?" Porlyusica asked straightening and dusting off her clothes.
"Sorry Miss. Porlyusica but we're not allowed to say... We thought it would be safer to copy you than trying to sneak into the guild to copy Wendy..." Loke explained. "But we need to hurry... She's getting worst..." Loke said looking toward Gemini.
Gemini nodded. "Again, we're sorry about this... Piri Piri..." Gemi said.
Porlyusica sighed but nodded. "Hurry up Jet will be here soon to take me there because something's up with Laxus..." Porlyusica said.
The two spirits nodded before disappearing.
~~Four Years Later~~
Deep in the forest near Magnolia sat a Large two-bedroom cabin in the middle of a clearing that was surrounded by trees. It was far enough where no one would catch her scent, especially a dragon slayer, but it was close enough to escape to Magnolia if needed.
Lucy stretched as she woke up, the sun wasn't even up yet but she was awake. She had a routine and a schedule to stick to. And she's never missed a day of training.
Lucy had moved closer to Magnolia about one and a half years back in an attempt to stay close if she needed to return to Magnolia and to Fairy Tail. After getting attacked, she decided just in case it'd be safer for her family if she was closer. It was a tough decision on her part, she didn't want to end up running into anyone she knew but because of constant attacks, she didn't have much choice.
It's been a year and a half since the last attack but she didn't let her guard down she knew he would be back sooner or later.
Lucy got out of bed and quickly threw on black yoga capris leggings, a black sports bra, and a white off-the-shoulder short-sleeved crop top. She threw her hair up in a ponytail before she called Virgo.
"Princess?" Virgo asked as she bowed.
"Keep an ear open, I got training with Loke..." Lucy said as she bounded towards the door.
"Of course, Princess, I'll start breakfast soon..." Virgo said.
"Thanks, Virgo..." Lucy said as she waved over her shoulder and ran out the door to the front yard.
"About time Princess... I've been waiting for the past three minutes..." Loke said with a smirk.
"I'm nowhere near late... In fact, I'm early, and apparently so are you..." Lucy giggled before walking to the middle of a makeshift training space.
"Hand to hand in normal form before we move onto the Star Dresses... Then summoning... See how many of us you can summon before you reach your limit..." Loke said.
"Then meditation with Capricorn... I know it's the same every day Loke..." Lucy said her hands on her hips.
"I'm glad you're wearing more of your normal clothes again... I haven't seen this much of your skin in years..." Loke teased.
"Oh shut it! If you have time to flirt then you have time to spar..." Lucy snapped playfully. "Plus I don't feel like I look like a whale anymore..." Lucy mumbled under her breath.
Loke ignored her last comment and put his hands up in surrender. "Alright alright, let's get started..." Loke said before getting into an attack position.
"Finally... I would like to eat today..." Lucy said getting into her attack position.
"When the hell did you learn that?!" Loke asked in disbelief as his head lay on the ground while the rest of him was propped up against the tree with his feet in the air.
He blinked in shock at Lucy who was smirking as she stood up to her feet.
"I saw Erza do it once or twice... I figured to try and teach myself... Turns out it's harder than it looks..." Lucy said with a giggle at the state of her spirit.
Lucy had blocked his punch but she snaked her arm around his and grabbed his forearm. She used his forearm to vault herself upward and wrapped her thighs around his neck and flipped them both backward. Lucy landed on her hands as she let go of Loke in mid-flip launching him into a tree where he landed upside down at the base of the tree. The attack was quick, faster than he could keep up with.
"Well, it's official you've definitely been around Team Natsu too long... Especially if you can now copy most of Erza's moves..." Loke said righting himself as he sat cross-legged on the ground.
Lucy giggled. "Yeah well, could be worst..." Lucy called over her shoulder as she turned and headed towards the house.
"How so?!" Loke yelled to her.
"I could have destroyed the forest by now like Natsu!" Lucy giggled as she looked over her shoulder.
"Yeah, that would definitely be worst..." Loke chuckled as he stood up and watched Lucy remove her oversized off-the-shoulder crop top and throw it on the porch. That's when he saw her back. "Lucy..." Loke said as he paled.
"Hm?!" Lucy hummed her reply.
"When did you get a tattoo?" Loke asked hoping that was the case.
Lucy looked over her shoulder with a confused look on her face. "I haven't..." She said.
Loke swallowed what felt like a boulder in his throat. "Then we have a problem..." Loke said in a bit of a panic.
"What do you mean?!" Lucy asked as she turned around.
Before Loke could answer Virgo called from the front door.
"Time for breakfast, Princess..." Virgo said with a bow.
Lucy nodded and looked to Loke who looked angry.
"Summon Gemini... I need to talk to them..." Loke said it sounded more like an order.
Lucy raised an eyebrow but shrugged. "Okay... Open! Gate Of The Twins! Gemini!" Lucy chanted as she held their key outward twisting it in mid-air.
"You called for us Princess?! Piri Piri!" Both Gemi and Mini said at the same time.
"Loke wanted to talk to you..." Lucy said with a shrug before going inside.
"Leo?" Gemi asked.
"You need to go to Fairy Tail and check on Laxus... If I'm correct he's not in good shape... And since we've been gone for almost five years he might be dead by now..." Loke said, his tone serious.
"What if we're caught? Piri Piri..." Mini asked.
"Don't be..." Loke said before heading inside.
Gemi and Mini both sighed before changing into an old lady they copied once before when they went into town when they were living in Clover Town.
They disappeared and reappeared outside of Fairy Tail.
"Here goes nothing..." Gemini's old lady voice whispered before pushing the door open.
They walked slowly up to the bar passing by a bunch of sad-looking guild members.
"Hello... Welcome to Fairy Tail! How can I help you?" Mira's cheery voice said, even if it sounded forced.
"Oh, hello dearie... I was wondering if there was a wizard here that could help with an electrical issue I have at home... The power company said they wouldn't be able to come for another day or so... So I was hoping to maybe borrow a wizard of yours..." The old woman's voice was shaky and a bit pitchy.
"Hm?" Mira said as she looked around the guildhall. "Well, we do have one mage that could help but I don't see him here... Hold on..." Mira said before looking up on the second floor when she spotted the green-haired man she was looking for. "Freed! Come here!" Mira said waving the man over.
"Yes, Mira?" Freed asked as he approached the bar.
"This young lady here was wondering if Laxus could help her with some electrical issue she's having... But I don't see him here..." Mira said scanning the guildhall again making sure she didn't miss him.
"Oh! He's not here right now... He's at home with a headache again... It's gotten better in the last year and a half but it was a lot worst before... I can go see if he'd be up to helping you out, ma'am..." Freed asked with a slight bow.
"Oh! I wouldn't want to trouble him, dearie... I don't mind waiting I just thought I could see some mages at work..." Gemini said in the old woman's voice.
"It wouldn't take me long to get him..." Freed tried again.
"No no, it's fine young man..." Gemini said with a wave of the old woman's hand before heading to the door.
"Is Loke here?!" Natsu shouted as he ran in the doors looking hopeful but panicked.
He scanned the guildhall but didn't see him.
Gemini didn't falter they just kept walking past Natsu whose nose twitched when they walked by.
"No Natsu... We haven't seen him or any of them for almost five years now..." Mira said sadly.
"But I smell metal and star fruit..." Natsu whispered before looking at the back of the old woman who turned her head slightly and smirked before closing the door behind her.
The old woman instantly disappeared before Natsu could open the door again. When he did the old lady was gone. There was no trace of her. Not even her scent.
Gemini returned to the cabin where Loke was standing on the porch.
"Well?" Loke asked.
"He seemed to be in bad shape but from what Sir Freed said he's gotten better over the last year and a half... It seems since we moved closer to Magnolia it's not as bad for him..." Gemini said still in the old woman's form.
Loke sighed in relief. "That's good... Lucy would hate herself if something bad happened to him because she didn't stick around... Not that she even knew about what happened..." Loke said.
"What do you mean Leo?" Gemini asked.
"He's a dragon slayer... From what I've read and have been told by a certain annoying overgrown lizard, Dragon Slayers take mates... It seems as if Laxus marked our princess as his..." Loke explained.
"How? Do either of them know this? Piri piri..." Gemini asked.
"Who knows... I just know they can't survive without each other for too long... I'm surprised they lasted this long..." Loke explained. "But it might be because they're closer now that things are getting better?" Loke stated though it sounded more like a question.
"Why hasn't our Princess felt any effects?" Gemini asked.
Before Loke could answer the question there was an explosion that came from inside the house followed by a scream.
"LUCY!" Loke shouted as he ran inside. When he entered the house he saw four shadow fingers on the other side of the cloud of smoke and his Key-holder on the ground surrounded by a force field of lightning. "Thank the stars..." Loke said as he let out a breath of relief. "Lucy! You need to get out of here! Emergency plan Thirteen! Now!" Loke yelled as he ran in front of her in a protective stance.
"I have a better idea..." Lucy whispered looking down, her hair covering her eyes. "Ask Stache-Face if he could babysit for me... I'll be the diversion..." Lucy continued to whisper.
"What are you thinking?" Loke asked through grit teeth.
"I'm going to get help... Go now!" Lucy snapped.
Loke nodded as he bent down taking what Lucy had protected in her arms.
"Be safe Princess..." Loke whispered before he disappeared.
Lucy stood to her feet as the smoke cleared.
"Hand over my Grandkid..." Ivan sneered.
"Oh, long time no see Ivan..." Lucy growled as she took a step back.
If Ivan was alone she could probably take him, but he brought others with him. She was surrounded by all sides.
"There's nowhere for you to run, hand over my Grandkid... And I won't kill you..." Ivan said.
Lucy smirked. "You'll have to catch me first..." Lucy said as her clothes changed to her Virgo star dress.
Within seconds she disappeared.
Ivan ran over and only saw a hole in the middle of the floor. Just big enough for a person to get through.
"Find that bitch... NOW!" Ivan shouted before storming out of the house.
Lucy climbed out of the hole in the ground. She was still a few blocks from the Guildhall. She was beyond nervous about going back. But she knew she didn't have a choice now.
She just had to make it a few more blocks.
She started running but got about two blocks before she felt something hit her in her back causing her to scream and fly forward. She skidded across the ground on her stomach. She grits her teeth as she pushed herself up on her hands.
She grits her teeth and took off running knowing they were right behind her. She only had to make it to the doors.
"Oh no, you don't girly..." She heard a male hiss like a snake.
"You can't get away from me..." She heard Ivan say with a dark chuckle before she was surrounded by a swarm of paper dolls.
"Shit..." Lucy muttered before they started spinning around her going faster and faster at blinding speed forming a sort of tornado as the paper dolls sliced at her skin.
She screamed. She didn't care who heard her. She screamed so loud there was no way no one wouldn't hear her.
Makarov had called Laxus to come down to the guild after the old lady left. As soon as he entered the guildhall he smelled a faintly familiar scent.
Metal And Star Fruit?!
He was looking around frantically hoping to catch sight of a familiar blonde. But to his dismay, he didn't see anyone.
"She wasn't here... But I do suspect Gemini was..." Makarov said breaking him out of his thought.
"Why would they come here?" Laxus asked.
"An older lady had come and requested a mage to help with an electrical issue... She didn't elaborate any further... I had explained the current issue with you and she insisted on leaving and not waiting around for you..." Freed explained walking up from the bar.
"What else was said?" Laxus asked suddenly feeling his headache starting to ease.
"Come up to the bar and sit..." Makarov said walking to the bar himself.
Laxus sighed but followed. "Gramps... I'm not ready to talk about it... I haven't wanted to talk about it for almost five years now, why would I now?" Laxus asked feeling his muscles starting to relax which he thought was weird.
"It'll help us all to understand why she decided to leave without a word to anyone..." Makarov said jumping up to the bar counter.
"I know, Gramps... But I..." Laxus began saying until he was cut off by an ear-splitting scream that made everyone including him freeze.
They all knew that scream. They've heard it many times.
Before they could even react the door burst open as something came flying through them and slammed into the bar with force cracking it down the middle.
They heard another scream as that something hit the bar confirming that it was a person, not a thing.
They all looked and saw a body with blonde hair on their hands and knees panting covered in blood and gashes.
After managing to escape through another tunnel she made she made it to the front of the guildhall. She was just about to push the doors open when a blast slammed into her from behind sending her flying into and through the guildhall and into the bar.
She fell to the ground after hitting the bar and screaming from the pain. She lifted herself onto her hands and knees as she looked up to see Ivan entering the doors.
"Give me what I want now you dumb bitch!" Ivan shouted as his paper dolls flew towards her in a spiral pattern.
"SCORPIO!" Lucy shouted holding out a gold key.
Scorpio appeared already in his attack position and fired his sand buster at the paper dolls.
The two attacks collided in the middle of the guildhall breaking everyone out of their stupors but yet no one dared to move.
"Give me the brat! Now!" Ivan shouted increasing his power and slowly pushing Scorpio's attack back. "You can't beat me you pathetic excuse for a mage!" Ivan chuckled darkly.
"Lucy... I know you're low on magic but we have to do something quick..." Scorpio said as he tried to increase the power of his own attack.
"I could try what I did with Brandish..." Lucy suggested with a wince.
"Do you have enough magic to do that?" Scorpio asked.
"I don't know..." Lucy said as she wracked her brain for a solution.
A smirk formed on Lucy's face.
"I know that look... You're about to be reckless aren't you?" Scorpio chuckled.
"What do you think? Let the cat out of the bag or try Urano Metria?" Lucy asked.
"It'd be safer to let the cat out of the bag... Or in this case dragon out of the bag..." Scorpio chuckled.
"Oh, you got jokes at a time like this? Seriously?!" Lucy giggled. "I need to get you out of here before I call for Loke and Virgo..." Lucy said.
"If I stop they'll hit you..." Scorpio said through grit teeth.
Lucy snorted. "I can take it... I did before... Paper cuts are nothing..." Lucy smirked before rolling her eyes. "Fine, I'll use my Sagittarius Star Dress..." Lucy caved.
"Now I feel better..." Scorpio said pushing more power out and pushing the dolls back a bit.
"Star Dress! Sagittarius Form!" Lucy said touching a gold key to her chest.
Lucy glowed gold before her clothes changed. The outfit consisted of a twin-tailed coat and sleeves that leave the shoulders and upper back bare. She wore a pair of dark thigh-high boots with light trim at the top, which split above the knees to reveal the front of the thighs, are also donned. Her hair was styled into a typical ponytail with two bangs framing the face. Sagittarius' zodiac sign appeared on her left shoulder.
"Get ready!" Lucy said aiming her bow towards the center of the spiral of paper dolls. "Star Shot!" Lucy shouted as she released the bowstring shooting off a bunch of energy arrows breaking through the paper dolls and knocking Ivan backward a few feet.
Scorpio nodded before disappearing.
Lucy on the other hand was panting running low on magic power. She had to hope they would come on their own magic. She also hoped Scorpio passed along the plan.
"As I said before you're pathetic... Now give me the damn brat!" Ivan shouted.
"You're blinded by your own greed for power..." Lucy said her bangs covering her eyes as she stood up on wobbly legs, her star dress disappearing and turning back to her normal, yet shredded clothes.
"What are you babbling about? You're stalling! Give up and give me the damn brat!" Ivan snapped.
"You're so blind that you didn't realize that you walked straight into the Dragon's Den..." Lucy said with a smirk. "Loke! Virgo!" Lucy yelled as her two most trusted spirits appeared on each side of her. "Did Scorpio inform you both?" Lucy asked as they nodded.
Ivan finally focused on his surroundings and finally noticed he was in the middle of the Fairy Tail guildhall. He cursed under his breath as he looked around. His eyes landed on his father who looked so angry that he was shaking, clenching his fists till they turned white. They then moved to his son that looked ready to explode, his eyes were glowing and lightning was sparking off him.
Lucy smirked. "What's wrong Ivan? Didn't you say something about wanting, how did you say it? Oh yeah, The Brat... You wouldn't want to miss out on meeting The Brat would you?" Lucy taunted as she held her hands back behind her.
"Give him to me!" Ivan snapped.
"Just him? Aw... Too bad..." Lucy mock pouted.
She felt two little hands grab each of her hands. She smiled as she felt the familiar feeling of the lightning dancing up her arms.
"What do you mean?!" Ivan asked dumbfounded.
"What I mean is... LJ doesn't go anywhere without his twin..." Lucy smirked as Ivan's face became pale and enraged. "That's right you thought there was only one right? Sorry to disappoint you..." Lucy faked her frown before it turned into another smirk.
The guild all gasped as the dragon slayers all growled.
"Are you sure about this Princess? They can't exactly control it yet..." Virgo asked.
"That's fine... This entire room is filled with Dragon Slayers... One of them could probably use a snack..." Lucy giggled as she pulled two blonde-haired toddlers from behind her.
The boy, known as LJ, who was two minutes older and he like to remind everyone of said fact, looked like a mini version of his father except he had his mother's brown eyes and her lighter blonde hair that was spiked up. He even looked like he wore the same cocky and smug smirk just like his father. He wore a purple t-shirt with a lightning bolt in the middle with black long sleeves underneath and tan cargo pants with combat boots. He wore a gold chain around his neck that held a star and a lightning bolt at the end. The hand that wasn't holding Lucy's was in his pants pocket.
The other toddler that stepped out looked like her mother but had her father's stormy blue eyes and bright golden hair. She wore her hair in pigtails up on top of her head that reached her mid-back and were held in place by black ribbons. She wore star earrings with dangling lightning bolts in each ear. She wore a golden yellow short-sleeved shirt under a black hooded sleeveless vest that was left open. The vest had a lightning bolt on the upper left side part of the vest. She wore a silver necklace that held a gold star and a gold lightning bolt charm at the end. She wore a black and yellow plaid pleated skirt that had a silver chain on the side with gold dangling stars and lightning bolts. She wore black capris leggings that had lace at the ends of the capris that came just below her knees with golden yellow flats. She had both hands wrapped around Lucy's hand and wrist.
Lucy felt Laxus move behind her but he kept his distance for the time being. Lucy knelt joining the toddler's hands.
"Remember what Uncle D taught you?" Lucy asked looking between both of them.
They nodded. "Yes, Mommy..." They answered.
"Is he a bad guy, mommy?" LJ asked.
"Yes... He's trying to take you away from me... What do we do to bad guys?" Lucy asked looking at Ivan with a smirk.
"We send them into next week..." The girl said her tone was serious as she glared at the bad man.
"That's my girl... You and your brother know what to do..." Lucy said standing to her feet letting their hands go completely as she took a step backward, fully aware that Laxus was behind her.
She wasn't afraid of him. Well, not exactly. She was afraid of what he'd do or say after this was all over, but she'd have to deal with that later.
They nodded as they held up their joined hands.
"You hurt our mommy..." The girl growled.
"You're a weak little coward attacking someone when they didn't have much magic left from training... If anyone's a pathetic mage it's you... Now you'll regret ever thinking of hurting our mommy..." LJ said as lightning danced up and down his and his sister's arms.
"Our mommy is kind and loving... No one in their right mind would ever think of hurting her... So you must really be insane mister..." The girl said as the wind picked up under their feet blowing their hair around and upward.
A golden yellow magic circle appeared under their feet as lightning sparked and danced around the circle and across their bodies towards their joined hands.
The children closed their eyes. "Resounding through the air, the roar of thunder, plunge from the heavens and reap destruction!" The children chanted as the lightning formed around their joined hands. Their eyes snapped open. "RAGING BOLT!" They shouted together as a large bolt of lightning shot towards the waiting Ivan who seemed like he couldn't move.
Ivan's eyes were wide with disbelief and fear. He was rooted in his spot he couldn't move. But he didn't have time to think or even react because the bolt of Lightning hit him sending him flying out of the guildhall threw the wall and across town.
Laxus watched everything unfold.
Ivan, his deadbeat father, apparently was chasing Lucy around for something.
And apparently, that something turned out to be her child(ren).
His children.
He was a father?
He is a father?!
She had hidden it from him?
He could only blame himself.
He was blaming himself.
If he wouldn't have said what he said all those years ago, she would have stayed and he would have been there, he would have been a part of their lives.
He would never have let her do this on her own.
He would have helped teach them to use the magic they held, because by the look of it they couldn't control the magic output considering the size of the hole, if you could even call it a hole, in the wall. Since most of the front of the building and ceiling were missing would be the main indicator of that.
Though the two toddlers didn't look like they were even tired. They still had lightning sparking around them even though they just stood there looking, or more like glaring, in the direction that his father was sent flying.
He would never admit it out loud, but it seemed that his children were more powerful than even he was. And that in itself was shocking as well as concerning.
He had to act fast since the blonde in front of him was slowly losing the strength in her legs as she began to fall. But luckily, he was fast enough to catch her before she hit the floor.
Lucy had passed out from exhaustion.
The two blonde toddlers turned and saw her mother passed out.
The girl's eyes began to fill with tears as the boy growled and scowled.
"She should have called us from the beginning... I hate when she overdoes it..." LJ growled.
"You know as well as I do she would never 'put us in danger as she always says..." The girl said.
"You know that's a load of crap as well as I do, Layla..." LJ said shaking his head.
Layla looked up at the man holding their mother. He looked just like her brother.
"You're our daddy aren't you?" Layla asked softly.
Laxus looked over at the little girl. "It appears so..." Laxus said with a sigh before looking back down at Lucy.
"We know she never told you about us... So we're not angry at you..." LJ said.
Laxus raised an eyebrow. "Thanks... I think..." Laxus wanted to laugh but he just stood up holding Lucy bridal style. "Let's get your mom to the infirmary... She needs some rest..." Laxus said walking towards the stairs.
He was still trying to wrap his head around the situation.
He's a father.
How could he be a father?
Well, he knew how but how didn't he even remember to use protection that night?
He was always so careful about that. It's the first thing that ever entered his mind before he would fuck someone. This time though it evaded his thoughts.
Although there was nothing he could do about it now.
"You two are safe here... Don't worry... Your mom came here for a reason..." Loke said as he bent down to the toddler's levels.
"We know..." LJ said with a sigh.
"Tell Uncle D that we can finish our game later... I want to stay with mommy..." Layla said.
Loke chuckled. "I will... Go take care of your mom..." Loke said before he and Virgo disappeared.
Both children followed behind Laxus into a big room filled with beds and smelled too clean that it tickled their noses, and not in a good way.
The guild stayed quiet until the door closed behind the two children.
Then it broke out in chaos.
Through the yelling and shouting, it seemed the only one who didn't say a word was Makarov himself. No, he just stared at the closed door.
So much information had to be taken in all at once.
His own son was hunting Lucy, for apparently his great-grandchildren.
He had great-grandchildren.
Laxus apparently slept with Lucy all those years ago and he didn't bother to say a word about it to him. Every time he would ask about what happened, Laxus would storm out and not return for weeks. It came to a point where he just stopped asking altogether.
But it seemed that even Laxus didn't know about all this if the look on his face was any indication of that when the children had shown up.
He wanted to be mad at his Grandson but he couldn't be.
He would just settle for being slightly disappointed in him instead.
"Master! Did you know?!" Mira asked.
"No... And it appears neither did Laxus..." Makarov said in a monotone voice.
"Is that why she left?" Levy asked with tears streaming down her face.
"I'm not sure..." Makarov said. "But it might be connected to why..." He added.
"I'm going to kill him..." Natsu growled.
"You'll do no such thing Natsu!" Lisanna snapped. "She's home now! And as Master just said Laxus didn't know..." Lisanna continued to scold.
"Is this why he was so pissed off the morning after Lucy's failed birthday party all those years ago?" Bickslow asked randomly.
"What do you mean?" Levy asked.
"Laxus was acting like he seriously had a huge spiky club up his ass anytime we mentioned Cosplayer... I asked how she was that morning because from the way he made it sound was that he went to see her the night before after the idiot flame brain here ruined her surprise party..." Bickslow said motioning with his thumb towards Natsu.
"True... He was awfully moody that day... I'm surprised he didn't shock Bicks to death actually..." Evergreen said with a thoughtful expression.
"I don't care about that! He did to her what he does with every other woman he comes across! He uses them and tosses them away like trash... Luce didn't deserve that! He probably forced her into leaving Fairy Tail..." Natsu spat as the heat ran off him in waves.
"Laxus wouldn't just force someone out of Fairy Tail like that... If he did, do you think there would be many females in the guild?" Evergreen snapped. "Hell, I definitely wouldn't still be here if he did that! Nor would I be on his team! Yes, Laxus can be a pig but he would never force someone into anything whether it be sex or leaving the guild! It's just not who he is!" Evergreen ranted swinging her fan around and stomping her foot from time to time.
"I suggest you tread carefully, Natsu... You stepping into dangerous waters now..." Freed said darkly.
Everyone near Freed took a step away from him as he spoke. The tone he used was definitely scary.
Natsu looked at his feet and around the floor and snorted. "There's no water here..." Natsu said causing everyone to facepalm themselves.
"And you wanted to marry him?" Macao said to Lisanna.
"Why do you think we haven't yet... Not to mention he said he didn't want to without his best friend there... That's why it hasn't happened yet..." Lisanna explained as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Question is would you have felt right about it without Lucy here?" Macao asked.
Lisanna sighed in defeat. "No... I wanted her there too... So much so that I agreed to wait till she returned... Even though we all knew she wouldn't..." Lisanna said.
"But she did..." Romeo chimed in.
"Yeah... Five years later... I was ready to tell him it was over if he wanted to keep waiting for her... Now I regret even thinking it..." Lisanna said regretfully.
"Natsu it's just an expression meaning to watch what you say or you might find yourself six feet under..." Levy snapped as she angrily wiped at her tears. "And I would be first in line..." Levy growled.
Gajeel chuckled. "Down shrimp... She's back and she's fine... Mostly that is..." Gajeel tried to sound reassuring.
"Not helping..." Levy grumbled crossing her arms over her chest with a pout as Gajeel ruffled her hair.
Natsu scratched his head. "I still don't get it..." Natsu said with a shrug.
Everyone just shook their heads.
"What do we do now Master?" Erza asked.
"Go get Porlyuscia... Have her come here and check on Lucy..." Makarov said looking a Jet.
Jet nodded and ran straight to the East Forest.
"Do we wait for her to get here or is someone going in to find out what's going on?" Mira asked.
"I'll go in..." Makarov said jumping down from the bar. "Send her in when she gets here..." Makarov called over his shoulder as he walked to the door to the infirmary.
When Laxus entered the infirmary, he laid Lucy's body down on one of the beds. He covered her with the thin sheet and turned towards the two children that stood by the door.
He didn't know what to do. He wasn't the greatest when it came to kids.
He scratched his head unsure what to do. "Um..." He started but sighed. "I'm not exactly good at this... But uh... Do you guys want to sit here on the bed next to her? I can get you guys something to drink? To eat? To color? You guys color right? Cards? Wait do you guys know how to play cards? Any other games? That is if you guys like games..." Laxus began rambling.
Layla wanted to laugh at his nervousness.
But LJ sighed. "Come Layla let's go sit down..." LJ said as he grabbed her hand to lead her to the bed.
Laxus noticed as soon LJ grabbed his sister's hand that lightning dancing up and down their arms. He narrowed his eyes and watched as they walked to the bed. They looked up at it. It was so high up compared to them.
Layla growled at the distance.
Laxus chuckled but picked her up under her arms and placed her on the bed.
He noticed that once their hands were disconnected the lightning disappeared.
To him and probably anyone else that was paying attention that they couldn't use their magic unless they were together and apparently touching.
Laxus sat in the chair that was between both beds.
"We should call Aunt Phee..." Layla said her voice soft and sweet.
Laxus raised an eyebrow.
LJ shook his head. "No... You know the rules... She can only be summoned by her key-holder... Who happens to be uncon... Uncin... Uncun..." LJ growled. "Sleeping at the moment..." LJ said giving up on trying to say the stupid word.
Laxus found it amusing.
"But Aunt Phee could ask Grandpa Stache-Face to let her come through..." Layla said.
LJ shook his head. "He doesn't like bending the rules too much... He did that enough over the years for mommy..." LJ said with a shrug.
"It's not his fault or ours that that evil man keeps on coming after Mommy..." Layla growled in annoyance.
"Speaking of... Who is he?" LJ looked at Laxus with a glare.
Laxus gulped. "Well..." Laxus scratched the back of his head before he sighed. "He's, unfortunately, my father..." Laxus growled.
"Why does he keep coming after mommy?!" Layla growled as she gripped the bed sheets underneath her, his hands turning white.
"If my guess is correct he wants you two... You see he's a bad man as you have said... He seeks power and that's all he cares about... He considers everyone around him to be weak... Even if they aren't... He sees you guys as his key to having the power he wants..." Laxus explained resting his elbows on his knees as he rested his chin on his folded hands.
"Every time he shows up, Mommy sends up to Grandpa Stache-Face..." Layla said with a huff. "If she didn't send us there we could have helped! We have better control now!" Layla all but shouted as lightning sparked around her arms.
LJ sighed before putting his hand on her shoulder looking like he was absorbing the lightning from his sister as it began to disappear into his hand.
Laxus narrowed his eyes as he watched the interaction. He needed to ask Lucy about what was going on with those two.
"Maybe, but we still need a little more practice... Mommy will get upset if we break any more buildings... Remember last time?" LJ asked his sister.
"Oh yeah..." Layla sighed in defeat.
Just then, the door opened, and in walked Porlyusica, Wendy and Makarov.
Layla's eyes lit up. "Oh My Gosh!" Layla shouted as she jumped off the bed and ran towards Makarov who had a confused expression on his face. "Look Laxy! This old doll is so adorable!" Layla said as she hugged Makarov. She held Makarov out in front of her. "Do you have a doll mage here!? He's so lifelike! Can we keep him Laxy!?" Layla gushed as she hugged the doll again.
LJ facepalmed and fell backward on the bed and chuckled.
Everyone in the room burst out into laughter, well except Porlyusica and Makarov himself. Although the corner of Porlyusica's lips twitched. Makarov was stunned to the point he just blinked a few times trying to figure out what was going on.
"Lay... That's not a doll..." Lucy's weak voice made everyone's eyes go to the blonde who was trying to sit up even though her arms wobbled.
"Momma!" Layla shouted dropping Makarov on the floor and running to her mother.
Layla growled at the height of the bed before she felt herself getting picked up by giant hands.
Laxus placed her on the bed next to her mom as LJ just jumped from one bed to the other.
"Wait, Ivan!? Did you guys do it?" Lucy asked as she bolted upright but almost fell over from being dizzy.
Laxus caught her before she could fall. "Easy will you... You're still in bad shape..." Laxus grumbled.
"Of course we did... You have so little faith in us!" LJ boasted.
"Yeah, Momma! We did it almost perfectly!" Layla said happily.
"What do you mean almost perfectly?" Lucy asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, uh, um... Well..." LJ began as he scratched his head.
"Yeah almost perfectly... If you don't take into account that they took out the entire front of the guildhall too..." Makarov grumbled as he stood to his feet and dusted off his sleeves.
"Oh Gosh! The Doll talks!" Layla gushed as her eyes sparkled.
"Lay... That's not a doll! He's the master of the guild!" LJ scolded.
"Oh..." Layla said with a pout. "But he's such an adorable doll..." Layla muttered to herself.
Laxus snorted. "At least someone thinks so..." Laxus said with a smirk.
"I'm not a doll!" Makarov said in annoyance.
Layla just pouted.
"I'll get you a better doll later alright sweetie?" Lucy asked with a smile.
"But mommy... You're enbaustcated..." LJ groaned. He knew his mother. "You really need to stop pushing yourself so much..." LJ scolded.
Laxus raised an eyebrow. "You mean exhausted?" Laxus asked.
"Yes! That too!" LJ said proudly with a hmph.
"Excuse me? I'm the parent here, not you mister..." Lucy said as she ruffled his spiky hair.
"Mom! It took me forever to get it like that!" LJ whined.
"Oh get over it..." Lucy said shaking her head.
"Let me guess... This is the reason you had your spirit copy me all those years ago?" Porlyusica asked.
Everyone looked to Porlyusica and then back to Lucy.
Lucy nodded. "Yes, Miss. Porlyusica... I'm sorry about that... But I couldn't have them copy Wendy..." Lucy explained looking down at her lap.
Porlyusica scoffed. "Whatever... I'm glad to see everything went well... Now let's take a look at you..." The old healer said as she walked over to Lucy to look over her injuries.
Lucy nodded but she looked at the old healer when she gasped from behind her. Lucy turned to look at her but saw she had a very serious and slightly scary glare set on Laxus. When she looked at Laxus he just looked confused with his raised eyebrow and a bored expression.
"You damn idiot! No wonder you haven't been feeling all that well! You could have died you stubborn fool! You're worse than your idiot grandfather over there!" Porlyusica snapped
"I'm confused... What did I do?" Laxus asked.
"You're kidding... You don't know?!" The old healer asked in disbelief.
"I wouldn't be asking if I did now would I?" Laxus growled. Laxus felt a small smack on his arm. He looked over and raised an eyebrow at the little girl that was glaring at him. "What was that for?" Laxus asked a bit annoyed.
"We don't growl at our elders! Mommy says it's not repectical!" Layla snapped putting her hands on her hips as she cocked her hip out glaring at him.
"Does she mean Respectful?" Laxus asked looking at Lucy, who was biting her lip so hard it could bleed to keep herself from laughing.
Lucy nodded as she closed her eyes trying to keep her laughter at bay.
Layla didn't seem to be phased by the glare the older woman was giving her, since Layla was smiling proudly.
"Mommy says we should always be repectical to those who are much older than us..." Layla said proudly.
"I'm two minutes older and you don't repect me..." LJ said crossing his arms over his chest.
"I said MUCH older than US nitwit..." Layla said rolling her eyes.
LJ just shrugged. "Still two minutes older..." He smirked before he stuck his tongue out.
Layla growled ready to pounce on her brother.
Lucy was getting a headache. "Both of you stop it..." Lucy groaned as she rubbed her temples.
"They always like this?" Laxus asked.
Lucy nodded.
"Laxus..." Porlyusica growled. "Do you know what you did?" She asked clearly annoyed.
Laxus shook his head. "No clue..." Laxus replied.
Porlyusica sighed in irritation. "You see this?" The older healer grabbed Lucy's head and moved it to the side. "This mark here is made by a dragon slayer..." Laxus growled his eyes flashing yellow. "Calm your stubborn ass down... I'm guessing you're the only Dragon slayer she's been with, so therefore you're the one that bit her..." Porlyusica turned Lucy's bare back towards him. "You see this tattoo on her back?" Laxus nodded as he stared at it in awe. "Because of the bite mark you gave her she also gained this, which wards off any and all other slayers telling them they belong to another... In other words, you've marked as well as Mated Lucy... Or in the dragon world you basically married her..." The old healer explained.
If it wasn't for the information that was being processed Lucy would have laughed at Laxus' face. His eyes were comically wide and his mouth kept opening and closing like a fish. His face was slightly pale.
Lucy, herself, wasn't doing much better but she kept her composure.
After what felt like days, even if it was only like five minutes, Laxus finally broke out of his stupor.
"I... Wait?! What?! I did what?!" Laxus asked in a panicked tone.
"She's right..." Wendy said chiming in for the first time. "Dragons and us Dragon Slayers take mates... We, well I should say Dragon's themselves didn't have normal weddings as humans do... They would mark their mate by biting their necks... And because of us being Dragon Slayers and pretty much human dragons we too take mates... And we also bite our mates necks to mark them as ours..." Wendy explained as her face continued to get redder and redder.
"What about the tattoo?" Lucy asked.
"Well... That didn't happen with Dragons... So I'm guessing it's just with us Slayers that it happens when we mark and mate with our mates..." Wendy said a bit unsure. "Gajeel would know more than I would..." Wendy said with a shrug.
"She seems to be fine... She just seemed to be exhausted from using too much magic... Which I would recommend against doing again... She just needs rest from here on out for the next couple of days..." Porlyusica said before walking towards the door. "I'll walk home thank you!" She yelled as she left the room.
"She seems cranky..." Layla said randomly.
This made everyone laugh.
"That's just how she is... I'm glad to see some things haven't changed..." Lucy said with a smile.
"Mom..." LJ whispered. "I'm hungry..." He said quietly looking down.
"Oh! I forgot our breakfast was interrupted... I'll go get..." Lucy began to say until Laxus stood up.
"Wendy can take them down to Mira... You and I need to talk..." Laxus growled the last part as he leaned on the bed at the end of the bed. He had her feet and legs caged between his arms. "Wendy..." Laxus said looking over his shoulder.
Wendy nodded. "Come on, Mira makes the best food!" Wendy said holding her hands out for the kids to take.
LJ and Layla looked at her hand and sniffed. They looked to each other and then to their mother who nodded with a giggle. After their mother's confirmation they each took one of Wendy's hands and walked out of the room.
Once the door closed behind them Laxus let out another growl.
"Laxus you need to calm down..." Makarov said.
"Why the fuck did you leave?!" Laxus snapped at Lucy.
"You know why..." Lucy said through grit teeth.
"DAMN IT! I didn't fucking mean it! I was trying to talk you out of what you were asking of me... I never wanted you to actually fucking leave! We spent years looking for you!" Laxus ranted.
"You're the one who said that I had to leave Fairy Tail and never come back if you agreed! And me being a Celestial Mage when I make a promise I keep it no matter what! You should have known that!" Lucy snapped back.
"Your spirit never told you then?!" Laxus asked.
"What are you talking about?!" Lucy asked.
"I told Gemini that I wanted you to stay..." Laxus said in a defeated tone.
"They never said anything... If they had... I don't know... I may have still left..." Lucy admitted.
"What?! Why?!" Laxus growled.
"I don't know Laxus... It felt like the right thing to do at the time... I needed to get away from Natsu... It hurt too much to be around him after that... No matter what I did it still hurt... I couldn't take it so I left... Slowly over the years, I forgot about him... In fact the only one I thought of the entire time was you..." Lucy said hugging her knees to her chest.
"Yeah, all I thought of was you too... I've been sick for the past five years to think of anything or anyone else..." Laxus admitted.
Lucy's head snapped up. "What?! You've been sick?! Dragon Slayers don't get sick!" Lucy said in a panic.
Laxus sighed before sitting down on the edge of the bed.
"From the new information that I've just been told... I'm guessing it's because you were too far away from me that I was sick... I've heard Metal Head talk to the blue-haired bookworm about it... He said if 'mates' are apart for too long they get sick and slowly die... I don't know how I survived... I don't even remember anything up till a year and a half ago really..." Laxus said with a shrug.
"I'm sorry Laxus... If I would have known! I wouldn't have left and stayed away this long... I only moved to the outskirts of Magnolia about a year or so ago... Ivan was getting relentless so I thought if I was closer to Fairy Tail he'd stay away... Apparently, I was wrong..." Lucy explained with a defeated tone.
"You should have never left... I should have never said what I said... I shouldn't have made you promise that..." Laxus said burying his head in his hands.
"If I'm being honest, I should have never asked you that in the first place... But I wanted to forget... And after that, it was easier to forget and move on from it... I just found myself thinking of you instead of Natsu..." Lucy giggled. "I traded one dragon slayer for another... Go figure..." Lucy joked with a roll of her eyes.
"After you left... Natsu said his mate was Lisanna... But he didn't want to do anything without his best friend... Lisanna has been annoyed because Natsu refused to have a wedding or anything until you came back..." Laxus explained with a chuckle.
"That idiot..." Lucy giggled.
Laxus chuckled. "He said he wanted you to be his best man since you're his best friend..." Laxus said making Lucy groan.
"Does he know how wrong that is? A best man is supposed to be that, a man..." Lucy said as she flopped back down on the bed.
"Lisanna explained that to him and well Natsu was Natsu on the whole thing..." Laxus said enjoying Lucy's discomfort.
"I swear I'm going to kill him one of these days..." Lucy grumbled.
"Get in line..." Laxus said. "I'm really glad you're back..." Laxus said looking down at the floor.
Just then Virgo appeared holding a small pile of clothes.
"Princess... I thought you may need a new set of clothing considering your fight left your current set all bloody and shredded..." Virgo said with a bow.
"I see some things don't change..." Laxus said in an amused tone.
"Thank you, Virgo..." Lucy said with a smile taking the clothes from her before Virgo bowed and disappeared. "Yeah... She's sort of eased up on asking for punishment though... Thankfully..." Lucy giggled. "Let me get changed and then get something to eat..." Lucy said going to get up but her arms wobbled.
"You sure you can get up? The old hag said to rest..." Laxus said earning him a smack on his shoulder. "Ow! What was that for?" Laxus asked rubbing the spot that Lucy hit.
"Don't call Miss. Porlyusica an old hag... That's not nice!" Lucy defended.
Laxus put his hands up in surrender. "Alright fine..." Laxus grumbled.
Lucy stood up on wobbly legs and slowly made her way to the bathroom. Once she got a rhythm going and got used to walking again she was fine and walking normally.
After Wendy brought the twins to the bar to get something to eat, they were listening intently to their mother's and apparently their father's conversation.
They automatically didn't like this Natsu guy.
"Who is Natsu?" LJ asked out loud.
"Your mom never spoke of him?" Mira asked.
Both kids shook their heads.
"If we're being honest she didn't tell us about anyone here... Well, she did tell us about our father... She told us that she left and never told him about us... We were mad at her for a little while but we couldn't stay mad at her... She's our mother..." LJ explained. "But now back to my question... Who is this Natsu?" LJ asked.
Mira pointed to a pink-haired man fighting with an almost naked raven-haired man.
"The pink-haired one is Natsu... Why?" Mira asked.
LJ smirked. "No reason..." LJ said taking a bite of his fried potatoes.
"Laxy... Momma wouldn't like you causing trouble..." Layla said in amusement.
"You heard what mom said..." LJ said taking another bite.
"I never said not to, I just said momma wouldn't like it..." Layla said with a smirk of her own.
"You going to help me?" LJ asked.
"If I do, it might be too much..." Layla said taking a drink of a strawberry milkshake.
"You just don't want to get in trouble for helping..." LJ accused.
"I'm the good child remember..." Layla said batting her eyelashes.
LJ snorted. "Yeah right..." LJ said turning in his seat to watch the brawl. "Should I wait or just do it to the entire group? After all, they all look like a bunch of children fighting for no reason like that..." LJ asked.
Just then Natsu got thrown out of the brawl by Elfman. Natsu landed a few feet in front of LJ and Layla.
LJ's smirk grew wider. He held his hand out to Layla, who rolled her eyes but put her hand in his. At the contact, lightning danced around their joined hands and up and down their arms.
"Don't overdo it..." Layla warned.
"You're no fun..." LJ said rolling his eyes.
He pointed a finger at Natsu not realizing just then that his mother and father stepped out of the infirmary. He shot a decent-sized lightning bolt striking Natsu right in his ass causing him to yelp and turn to the twins with wide eyes.
"LAXUS MAKAROV DREYAR! LAYLA MCGARDEN DREYAR! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!"
Okay, So that's that chapter...
Everyone out there should know my obsession with twins by now!
Those who thought there would only be one child definitely don't know or have noticed the pattern with my stories...
Oh well, I guess you just learned that little info about me.
Well, tell me what you think!
And I'm hoping to have the next chapter done soon.
Although I do have other stories to worry about too so it may or may not take a bit.
OH oh oh, I name names for EnSlaveMate for the kids because they will be soon making their appearance within the next chapter or Two...
And as always thank you for your support!
