Chapter 17: Knock knock.
Crash walked towards the castle, and something about it seemed,... Familiar to him. But he couldn't put his finger on it. The skeleton noticed that many weird looks were on him, but he paid them no heed.
The system crasher was here for those cookies and he was determined to get it. Nothing's going to stop him from getting those snacks-
'Did that guy just spit out his drink?' Crash thought as the scruffy looking man coughed out his drink.
Crash tried not to pay attention to that man as he continued on his search for cookies, but the strange man seemed to be following him. The skeleton didn't know if he was being paranoid or that guy was actually stalking him.
In order to find out the answer, the AU crasher ended up doing something he thought would help. Crash considered it to be a very wise tactic.
He picked up the pace, and so did the man.
He started jogging, the man did the same thing.
Crasher started sprinting and, unsurprisingly, so did the man.
'WHY ARE YOU CHASING ME!?' The AU crasher screamed internally.
Qrow's POV
"WHY ARE YOU RUNNING!?" Qrow asked loudly.
The skeleton then immediately stopped dead on his track, causing the huntsman to almost crash onto him. The monster then turned his head towards the scarecrow and looked at him confusedly.
"Okay,... Let's talk, buddy." Qrow told the skeleton with a serious expression.
"Sorry,... Where are my manners? The name's Crash." The skeleton said as he stuck his hand out for the crow huntsman to shake.
Reluctantly, the huntsman shook his hand and-
*Btzzzzzzz*
"Gah!" A sudden pulse of electricity through the arm startled Qrow.
"Ehehehehe, the good old joy buzzer in the hand trick. Never gets old." Crash!Sans chuckled as he pulled his hand back.
"Yeah,... Right,... Look, I'm going to get to the point. You're Sans, right?" The drunk asked.
Before Crash could answer, the alcoholic spoke again.
"Who am I kiddin'? You definitely are. So, I'm going to say this once, monster. If you even think about hurting Ruby, Yang and their team, nothing's going to stop me from turning you into dust. Are we clear?" The huntsman threatened.
'Sans,... He must've mistaken me for this AU's Sans. Eh, whatev's. Not like I'm gonna waste my time explainin' to this guy.' The system crasher thought.
"Are we clear!?" Qrow growled again.
"Crystal." The skeleton just smiled and shrugged.
"Better keep that in mind, pal." Qrow said before turning away.

'What's a hunt - Oh, wait,... This is Remnanttale.' Crash let out a sigh as he had just remembered a certain someone.
Underground
Sans's eyes snapped open as he woke up in a cold sweat. That sensation was familiar to him. The summoner felt the same when an anomaly entered this Au.
'crap! this isn't Ink or Error. this is someone else!' Sans thought frantically as he got up and got dressed in a hurry.
The skeleton ran past Gaster. The elder skeleton noticed that and decided to call out.
"SANS! WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?"
"NO TIME WINGS! THERE'S A GLITCH! IN BEACON!" The younger skeleton yelled as he jumped onto his blaster and flew out of the underground.
"*Sigh* I didn't even have the chance to tell him that I knew that one." The scientist let out a sigh.
"Oh, well. He'll figure it out himself." Gaster said to no one but himself.
Ruby's POV
Ruby was crossing her arms and pouting as Yang hugged her sister from behind. The little red girl was very angry with her sister and she didn't even respond to her sister as she babied her.
"Ooooooh,... Wuby, say something. C'mon, I'm sorry, okay? I was joking. Forgive me, will ya?"
"No! Never!" The red Rose huffed.
"Come on! What can I do to see my sister's dazzling smile again?" The blond brawler teased.
"The answer is that you cannot! I will never smile for you ever again!" The little reaper declared in anger.
"You can't stay mad at me forever, Ruby~" The buxom blond sang.
"I can and I will! Back me up here, Chara!" The red haired girl seeked help from her ghost friend.
The ghost girl was thinking of something else. She thought about what Qrow has said. It wasn't Ozpin or Qrow that attacked them that night.
It was the opposite.
They were trying to protect her. More correctly, the Maiden's power. But, who were they trying to protect it from? What did those people want with Fall? What are their goals?
Her thoughts were cut short as Ruby howled in laughter.
"CHARA! HELP!" The little Rose pleaded to her ghost friend as she was tickled by her sister.
The red eyed girl looked at the sister's antics and sighed. The former princess of monsters couldn't help but smirk at how adorable her host was.
'Moe.' Chara told Ruby.
"Nooooo! You were the chosen one! How could you succumb to darkness like this!" The red reaper yelled in desperation.
"No one can save you now, Ruby Rose!" Yang declared as she kept tickling her sister.
Ruby tried to push her sister away, but ended up tripping her as they held onto each other. This caused the blond to land on the red head.
"Owwww,..." The little Rose groaned in pain as she rubbed her head.
Both of them then looked at the door to see team JNPR and a skeleton they didn't know. Both of them blushed as they yelled in a unison.
"It's not what it looks like!"
The two girls then get off each other and blushed deeply. They looked down to avoid other's gaze. Jaune dropped his drink to the floor, Pyrrha widened her eyes in horror, Nora dropped her mouth to the floor and Ren tried his best to remain stoic at the sight of that scene.
The strange skeleton took out some sort of cartoon of juice that had the word "unsee juice" written on it before taking a big sip out of it as he turned to his left and started walking away. Jaune was the first to say something, but all that came out of his mouth was stuttering.
"Wha - B-But,... I thought - Y-You girls were-"
"Don't ask,..." Ruby pleaded while her hands covered her face.
"Don't tell!" The new skeleton yelled as he left.
Now, it was the brawler's turn to blush in a deep shade of red. The two were left stuttering nonsense to team JNPR as they completely forgot about an unknown skeleton that had just walked away.
A few embarrassing minutes later, everyone had been able to regain their bearings and calmed down. They all agreed not to talk about this misunderstanding incident ever again. Nora was the first to point out hole in that story.
"Wait, why was Ruby mad at you in the first place?"
"Yeah, what happened?" Jaune asked.
The red Rose glared at her sister. Yang rubbed her head as she started.
"W-Wellll,..."
Earlier that day
Team RWBY and Penny walked together on the streets of Vale. They were all slurping bubble tea that the robotic girl bought them. The ginger was noticed to be much more,... Natural than before.
'Possibly the side effect of having her soul back.' Ruby noted.
"After our last incident, father did not want me to go out much anymore, so I invited you guys out for a treat as an apology." Penny stated.
"What!? B-But,... Why?" The red Rose asked in worry and stopped dead in her tracks.
"It's because she almost got killed last time. Technically, she did. So, he is afraid of losing her again." Blake explained.
"But it's not fair,..." The reaper pouted.
"Fret not, Ruby! We will meet each other again! Father is just worried for my well-being. When he deemed it to be safe for us, we'll meet again." The robotic girl remarked.
"Do you really think so?" The little Rose inquired.
"Yes. I believe so." The ginger told her.
"Don't worry, Ruby. That's how all parents act when they learn that their child was in danger. I mean, do you remember how dad reacted when he saw you running with a knife in your hand?" Yang remarked.
"Yeah,..." The red reaper muttered as a flashback occured in her head.
"Rubes, what do you have in your hands?" Taiyang asked playfully.
"A KNIFE!" Was the happy reply.
"NO!" Both Summer and Taiyang yelled in distraught.
"Good times." The little red riding hood smiled at the memory.
"Oh, by the way, where's Sans?" Penny asked.
"He was sent on a very important mission. It was Ozpin's direct order." Weiss spoke.
"When is he coming back?" Asked the mechanical girl.
"We don't know if he's returning or not. He might have to stay on his post for good." The Schee heiress answered.
"Well, at least he's home." Blake added.
"Yeah,... At least he's somewhere comfortable and not some crazy Grimm infested forest." The Ice Queen stated.
"Which reminds me, how is he going to finish his course if he's not coming back from a mission?" Inquired Penny.
"Huh,... I never thought about that." Said the blond brawler.
"Now that you've mentioned it,... I think we're gonna have to ask the headmaster about it." The cat faunus stated.
"Yes, you are." Penny quipped.
"Agreed. Why are you looking for him, anyway?" The reaper asked.
"Well, father wanted to meet the monster that gave me my soul back to give his thanks. He also has many questions for Sans, especially after he learned that he is a scientist." Replied the robotic girl.
"Huh,... Can't imagine why." The ice cold princess rolled her eyes as she remarked sarcastically.
"Neither can I." The little Rose nodded.
"I was being sarcastic, you dunce! Did you seriously not see the obvious hint of sarcasm there?" Weiss rubbed her temple in frustration.
"I dunno, did I?" Ruby tilted her head in confusion.
"Is that sarcasm I hear?" The heiress asked with some venom in her tone.
"Probably." The girl in red just shrugged.
"Wait, were you being sarcastic when you said that?" Penny inquired.
"Were you being sarcastic when you asked her that?" Blake asked the mechanical girl.
Silence filled the street they were standing on as if it was a ghost town. The team looked down to see a tumbleweed rolling past them.
"I think we should drop this conversation here." Said Blake
"No! Not until I figure out if this buffoon is toying with me or not!" Weiss declared as she pointed her finger at the strawberry.
"Me!? What did I do?" Ruby recoiled.
"Okay, now you're just denying it." Weiss glared at her partner.
The two of them then bickered back and forth like children as others watched with great interest. Yang put a devious smile on her face as she leaned over to Penny.
"Watch this." Yang told her as she walked over to the duo.
Penny looked at her in worry as she asked Blake.
"Shouldn't you be stopping her?"
"She has to learn about the consequences of her pranks." Blake stated as she continued to watch.
Yang snuck behind Ruby while she was busy arguing. Ruby was then pushed at Weiss and their lips made contact as they fell upon one another. Yang quickly whipped out her scroll and took a picture. The duo got off each other and hacked violently.
"PWEH! GROSS!" Weiss yelled.
"FOR ONCE, I AGREE! EW!" Ruby yelled.
The duo then looked at Yang, who was dying of laughter.
*Disgusted ice sounds*
*Angered strawberry noises*
"Forget this! Whoever kills the blond first is the winner." Weiss stated.
"Deal!" Ruby growled as they looked at Yang.
The said blond then put away her phone and looked at them.
"This is going to be my new wallpaper." Yang told them.
The two of them took out their weapons. Yang sweat dropped as she chuckled.
"*Chuckles* I'm in danger."
Back in the dorm
"So, they fought me all the way to Beacon, where Ruby continued to sulk." Yang explained and team JNPR gave out a collective 'oooh'.
"I'm still not forgiving you!" Ruby declared.
"C'mon, sis. Ya gotta give me some credit for finding someone to give you the first kiss." The blond smiled widely.
"Wasn't my first kiss,..." Ruby muttered.
Yang looked at her with wide eyes, completely dumbstruck while Ruby covered her mouth with her hands.
"Guys, get out of our room, please. I need to have some talk with my sister." Yang said in a deathly sweet tone.
"Please, save me." The girl in red pleaded to the other team.
Knowing that this wasn't going to end well for anyone, team JNPR decided that it was time for them to leave.
"We'll be on our way, then." Jaune stated, not wanting to deal with the blond bombshell's wrath.
"Thank you for your cooperation." Yang smiled, though there was anger in her tone.
NPR looked at Ruby's puppy dog eyes with some pity. Pyrrha sighed as she told Yang.
"Please, don't do anything drastic to her, Yang."
"Oh, no. I would never harm her sister. You have my word." The said blond raised her hands up in sign of surrender.
JNPR looked among themselves and shrugged.
"You betraitors,..." Ruby muttered.
"It's betrayers or traitors, Ruby." Ren corrected.
"You guys are both!" The red dressed girl stated.
Team JNPR gave her a raised eyebrow as they left. After a couple minutes of walking in the hallway, Pyrrha spoke up.
"I think we're forgetting something."
"If you forgot, then it probably wasn't important." Nora stated.
"Yeah, you're right." Pyrrha nodded.
Crash's POV
Crash casually strolled down the school canteen as he looked for cookies. The skeleton monster smiled widely as he took a few of them before passing four people. One fashionista, one bunny brunette, a frickin' giant and a blind man.
The fashionista looked at him with wide eyes as she slowly removed her sunglasses. They all locked their eyes on the skeleton monster as he passed by them.
"Excuse me, coming through." The system crasher said as he squeezed through the team.
Team CVFY looked among each other and drew their weapons as the AU traveller had his back turned.
*'That song might play when you fight Sans' starts playing*
'Why do I hear boss music?' Crash wondered in his head.
Team CRDL POV
"We should get the headmaster." Said Cardin.
"Already on it." Dove stated.
Dove whipped out his scroll and called Ozpin. It rang a few times before the headmaster of Beacon picked up the phone.
"Yes?" Ozpin asked.
"Sir, there's a skeleton monster close to the cafeteria hallway." Dove informed Ozpin.
"..." Ozpin said nothing.
"Sir?" Dove asked.
"Is he friendly?" The headmaster asked.
"Uhhhh,..."
*Machine gun sounds*
*BOOOOM*
SMG and slashing sounds*
"I don't know, sir." Dove said.
"Wait, what?" Cardin gave him a raised eyebrow.
"I mean,... He's not wrong. The skeleton hasn't attacked yet." Russel added.
"Do you really wait for Grimms to attack you to consider them enemies?" Lark asked.
"Okay, true." Nodded Russel.
*PING*
"STOP SHOOTIN' AT ME, YOU CRAZY LADY!" Yelled the skeleton.
"Okay, he dematerialized Coco's gatling gun. That's an attack, right?" Dove asked.
"Why does it even matter!?" Yelled Cardin.
"I don't wanna be biased! Remember what Arc told you?" Asked Dove.
Cardin opened his mouth to argue, but closed it a second later. He then opened it again, but didn't bother and sipped his juice.
"ALRIGHT, THAT'S IT!" The skeleton yelled in frustration, earning the attention of team CRDL.
The skeleton monster then activated the *FIGHT* system and team CFVY suddenly stopped moving.
Team CFVY POV
Coco, Fox, Velvet and Yatsuhashi suddenly saw themselves in soul forms. All of them looked up and saw their bodies not moving a single inch as the skeleton monster stared at them.
"HOLY SHIT!" Coco yelled.
"W-What is going on!" Velvet stuttered.
"By the brother gods! He took our souls!" Yatsuhashi exclaimed.
"No, he didn't." Fox corrected.
"What!?" Coco asked.
"I read about this once! It is said that monsters are much weaker than humans, so they developed a fighting system. This system allows them to take our soul out of the vessel so they can fight the soul instead, to even the battle." Fox explained.
"GODDAMNIT! Now we have to play his games in order to survive this." Coco cursed.
"Wait, look!" Yatsuhashi soul pointed out.
All of them then turned their attention to the skeleton monster, who was looking to his left.
"What is he doing?" Velvet questioned.
Crash's POV
'That's strange. If my codes are correct, that means a train with a tonne worth of explosives is heading straight towards the city. Why would they do such a thing? Unless,...' The system crasher wondered.
Crash rematerialized Coco's gatling gun and stopped the *FIGHT* system. All of them gasped and looked at the monster fearfully.
"Sorry, guys. I'd love ta stay and chat, but I gotta bounce." Crash said as he cut his codes.
To everyone, it looks like he had just teleported away.
"C-Coco…?" Velvet asked worriedly.
"Yeah…" The said girl lowered her sunglasses as she answered, with a clear trace of trauma on her face.
"That teleportation,... It looks like,..." Velvet started.
"Sans's Semblance." Fox finished.
"..." Nobody said a thing.
North Vale's wall
'I have to watch this.' The AU traveller mused.
'Do they just destroy walls to let the Grimm in on a regular basis.' He wondered.
*BOOOOM*
The train exploded and destroyed the wall. Soon after that, the Grimm flooded into the kingdom. Crashed looked at the people who were panicking and sighed.
'Judging by their expression, this is an attack and this doesn't happen on a regular basis. Oh, well,... Can't rely on anyone these days. You have to do everything yourself.' The system crasher sighed as he activated his cracked purple left eye.
Purple fire came out of his eye and it made him look much more intimidating. The codes in his right eye shifted rapidly as the number of Grimm started to climb.
He raised his left hand to strike, but before he could make his move, a giant blaster shot a rainbow colored beam straight at the breach. The rainbow colored beam mowed down the Grimm in seconds.
'Must've been this AU's Sans." The AU crasher mused.
"TASTE THE RAINBOW, MOTHERFUCKERS!" Crash couldn't help but yelled in excitement.
Some managed to get past the beam and tried to attack the citizens. Crash noticed some Grimms trying to attack a man. As soon an Ursa lunged at the man, it's head immediately disappeared and landed on the ground behind it shortly after.
"W-What?" The man stuttered as he looked at the monster.
The skeleton just offered a lazy smile as he looked at the man. The random citizen then turned his tail and ran straight away. The AU traveller sighed as he turned his attention back to the incoming horde of Grimm.
He saw some teams of huntsmen fighting off the Grimms. He saw that same team that tried to fight him earlier was there, so he didn't try to go and help them.
"Hey! Monster!" A voice rang out behind him.
The system crasher turned back and saw a man in a white vest looking straight at him. Some of the robots were pointing their guns at him with their fingers on the trigger.
"Take down those Grimms that pass our defense as a sign of goodwill!" The man said.
Crash just shrugged as he casually walked towards the Grimms.
'Time to go to work.' The skeleton smiled widely.
The end of the school year is a busy time for students like me, don't you agree?
